Daily Life With a Saiyan Teenager Chapter 15
What You Leave Behind.
Alright I put this off long enough, mental health break over. Welcome back to my story. I haven't done this in awhile and I may have forgotten some things. Truth is I've been chipping away at chapters during my break but I wasn't too focused on them because other stuff went on in my life. I was going to surprise you guys with three chapters in October but I couldn't do it for many reasons. 1. Lack of motivation, 2. Life getting in the way, 3. Sparking Zero. That's a very addicting game btw. I'm a Vegito Blue main. What do you guys think of Daima so far? I think it's alright, nothing too special, but I appreciate the extra lore they're trying to add. In an earlier chapters, I had Goten use Super Saiyan aura without transforming. This was based on filler I think but if it wasn't canon before, it is now. I posted this chapter a week early on A03 which is going to be my new schedule. I'll post chapters early on A03 and when I I'm ready, I'll post them on since this is where I get most of my feedback. With that said, I hope you enjoy.
Goten and Centorea were running together outside. Well, Centorea was running while Goten was jogging and keeping up with her.
"So, you have somewhere in mind Cerea?"
"Yes, I know just the place."
"Man, I can't wait to use a sword! If I ever see Trunks again, he's going to be so impressed!"
"Training with a sword may seem like fun and games to you but I expect you to take this seriously."
"That's fair. Piccolo was also a tough trainer and we were just kids at the time. I think he mellowed out when it comes to Pan though. For Trunks and I he was just a strict teacher but oh boy, wait until how he trained Gohan when he was a little kid!"
"You've piqued my curiosity. How did he train your elder sibling?"
"He left him in the mountains to fend for himself against wild animals and he was forced to hunt for his own food."
Centorea abruptly stopped sprinting. "But h-he was but a boy!"
"At least he was given a sword. Now that I think about it, I have never seen him use a sword before. He's always about the books nowadays."
"How old was he? Saiyan or not, it would be difficult for someone to survive in those circumstances. I do not doubt he was capable of defending himself against wild animals, but that's hardly the only issue! How old was he when this happened?"
"Like four? Hey, are we still running?"
"Y-Yes, my apologies." Centorea began running again towards their destination. "He may have been a Saiyan but he was still a child! So, what if he could defend himself against wild animals? He'd have to know how to cook and hunt food! What if he were to consume something toxic?"
"After my dad spared Piccolo, he didn't immediately become good. By the time my uncle showed up, he was still Demon King Piccolo. He trapped Gohan in his space pod and nearly beat my dad and Piccolo together. Gohan got angry and broke out of the pod. when he saw my uncle standing over dad's body. He charged at him so hard that his armor broke. It was then and there that Piccolo realized that Gohan had more potential than anyone. After they beat my uncle, they found out more Saiyans were coming and Piccolo realized the only hope of survival was to train Gohan."
"You Saiyans go through much as children. Full-blooded Saiyans are sent to worlds when they are small and expected to conquer them. They're forced to fend for themselves with no parental guidance or affection. Your father was truly fortunate to have met his grandfather. For centuries, Centaurs were a militaristic and violent race that lived for battle and only the strongest survived. To this day, male Centaurs place far too much value on physical strength. They are expected to fend for themselves at a young age but even our culture wouldn't leave a toddler in the wild. In truth, they aren't dissimilar from how the Saiyans were, but to a lesser extreme."
"It's a good thing both of our respective species are moving past that, huh?"
"Indeed, Centaurs began as nomads who became fearsome warriors in times of need. At one point or another, we began to place too much value on strength, a flaw that is prominent amongst male centaurs to this day. At the very least, the weaker Centaurs aren't slaughtered anymore. As for female Centaurs, plenty of us went on to look for noble masters as we hast done in times of old."
"Is that how you started living with Kimihito?"
"Precisely. I am his knight and I have sworn fealty to him and yet there was nothing I could do to protect him. I couldn't protect you either which is just as great a failure. My blade shattered on my foe's skin and I could only watch from the sidelines as you bravely fought for all our lives. As a warrior yourself, I'm sure you can understand how shameful that is." Said Centorea.
"I didn't always have Saiyan pride but I did have a Saiyan's fighting spirit. Trunks and I were strong but we were so much weaker than everyone else that we had to rely on a technique that combined our strength to stand a chance and it didn't take long for that to not cut it anymore. Because of this, we weren't even allowed in the same area as major enemies and if we were, it was just to spectate. I didn't feel shame, just disappointment. I understand they wanted to keep us safe and important things were at stake but sometimes it felt like they didn't believe in us and we didn't even get a chance to prove ourselves."
"Our feelings on the matter are different yet similar in the sense that we both felt inadequate. When I was younger, I always sought the approval of my mother. I trained hard to become a knight because I wanted to prove to her, I was strong but no matter how hard I tried, it was never enough. Mother strongly disproved of me finding a lord to serve and instead wanted me to mate with a male Centaur whose only merit is strength."
"Jeez, your mom sounds tough. She reminds me of Vegeta. Well, the best either of us can do is believe in ourselves."
"How could I? I'm supposed to be able to protect my master from any threat and I would gladly lay down my life for my him but I was absolutely powerless to do anything. If it wasn't for an unfortunate accident happening to you, none of us would be here. The only reason anyone is alive is that despite going through pain and suffering I wouldn't wish upon my worst enemy, you still got up and fought. You earned my respect that day but it also occurred to me that this world benefits from your suffering. I just… I can't accept that! Son Goten!"
"Yes?"
"If your misery is what it takes to ensure my master's safety, then I will share in your suffering. Please, allow me to fight by your side." Centorea vowed.
"You want to be able to fight with me?"
"If that's okay with you, Goten Sensei." She said embarrassed.
"You betcha! That actually sounds like a heck of a lot of fun!"
"Oh, we hast arrived at our destination."
Their destination was a place under a few bridges. They agreed to find somewhere private but not far. Chances where they wouldn't be seen but if they were, people would be too busy driving to do anything about it.
"This is the place?"
"Yes, I wished to go to a nearby Japanese temple but it was in use."
"Well, that sucks. Oh well, this place will do. Are you ready Centorea?"
"Yes, Sensei."
"For as long as I've known you, you've always carried a prop sword around. You carry around a prop sword, yet you can perfectly slice apart a wooden door without damaging the sword itself. If you were just using brute strength, it would probably take damage and it would be more like smashing than cutting. At first, I didn't realize it but when you came to my defense, you raised your ki. Your sword still broke but let's just say I understood why you were able to slice that door apart so precisely."
"Don't remind me… I still haven't got that replaced just yet. I have extras but it's for my collection, you see."
"Point is, at that moment, you used your ki. Try replicating that feeling.
Centorea closed her eyes and tried to focus. However, she felt nothing. 'No, I mustn't give up!' She thought. 'I have to do this, for them!' Centorea felt frustration but she couldn't get the same sensation she felt when she struck the monster.
"Sensei, how will I know if I feel it?"
"Remain calm, okay?"
Centorea closed her eyes.
"Good. Now listen to the core of your body. Do you feel anything?"
"It's faint, but I do feel it."
"Now listen to your body until you feel a pull. When you do, release it!"
'Concentrate Centorea. Concentrate… I feel it! Now, to release it!' She thought. 'Yes, the sky will do.' "Ready, aim…, Fire!" Centorea pointed her finger like a gun diagonally at the sky.
…
"Why didn't anything come out? What did I do wrong?" Said Centorea.
"Well, you got raising your ki down, but you weren't able to release it. Let's try something else. Still got those wooden swords we were going to use for my sword training?"
"Yes, sensei."
"Try it again with one of those wooden swords."
"Alright, I will give it a try."
"Centorea held one of the swords in her hand. She closed her eyes once more and began channeling her energy within.
"Think of the sword as an extension of your body." Said Goten.
Centorea concentrated the energy into her blade and… nothing? "Why isn't this working?!" Said Centorea frustrated.
"Well, you're definitely raising your energy. Are you focusing that energy into your sword?"
"I am, but I'm still unable to release it outside of my sword!"
"Hey, hey relax! You've already got step one down. Mind if I give you a bit of a test?"
"I will accept any challenge you give me, Sensei! I will learn how to properly use my ki if it's the last thing I do!"
"Alright, I'll be back. Just wait here for a second." Goten suddenly flew away.
"Wait, Got- I really wish he wouldn't do that."
A literal minute later, Goten came back with a bunch of rocks. He was a far distance away from Centorea so he shouted to her.
"Hey Cerea! How good are your reflexes?"
Centorea closed her eyes and smiled proudly. "My reflexes are second to none."
"Alright, I'm going to throw these stones at you. I want you to slice them apart with your sword."
"The sword is made out of wood though. Coming from you especially, those rocks may damage it."
"Just extend your energy to the blade. Let me know when you're ready."
"Do your worst!"
Goten said nothing. Instead, he threw a rock that flew right past Centorea's face. She was stunned at how fast the rock flew.
"Oops, my bad! Man, I really got a lot stronger." Goten nervously chuckled.
"Are you trying to kill me?!"
"Hehehehe, Sorry, Sorry!" Goten pats the back of his head in embarrassment. "Should I go further, or should I just hold back a bit more?"
"There's no need. But a warning next time would be nice! However, you may proceed at that speed."
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. If I want to be able to protect my master, I need to be ready for anything. The Red Ribbon army has technology never seen before, even by the human world. If they attack again, mark my words, I will be ready."
"Uh Okay, if you say so. Stay still, I'm going to aim away from your body, but if one of these rocks hits you, it could seriously hurt you."
"You said you weren't going easy on me, did you not?"
"I did say that, but if I hit you on accident while using too much strength, you can die."
"If I can't handle a few rocks, I'm as good as dead should the Red Ribbon Army surface without your presence. From here on out, I refuse to be a burden to you."
"Alright, this will be a slower speed. This isn't me going easy on you either. If you get hit by these rocks, you won't die… but it will hurt… a lot. Ready… Go!" Goten threw a rock at Centorea at high speeds and she instinctively dodged.
"Too fast?"
"No, this feeling is just all too familiar. It reminds me of my childhood, training with my mother. The speed is overwhelming but I will overcome it! Come at me with your best shot, Sensei!"
"Then let's try this again then." Goten threw another rock, and Centorea swung her sword and missed.
"Drat, I missed! Keep going Goten!"
Goten nodded and continued throwing rocks. Centorea swung and missed most of them as the rocks were moving through the air too fast, but she eventually hit one, slicing it clean in half.
"I did it!"
"Woah, you sliced through it like butter! Let me get a closer look." Goten flew towards the two cleanly cut halves of the rock and picked it up. "Yep, that's a pretty smooth cut alright. Look at your wooden sword, see any damage?"
"No, not at all. Not the slightest dent. It felt more efficient than the prop sword I used but that's not possible, is it? The prop sword may have been fake as well but this sword is made of wood and it's meant for training, not cutting. Is this the power of ki?"
Goten nodded. "That's right. This is the power deep inside you and you're only scratching the surface. You can't see it because you don't know how to release that ki but you know how to make it flow through your body. I can tell you treat the sword as an extension of yourself so you're able to transfer your energy to that blade. You aren't strong because you wield a sword, the sword is strong because of the woman wielding it."
"Your words are encouraging. Thank you, I'd like for you to do this once more. This time I will not flinch nor will I evade your stones."
"Let me grab more then." Goten once again flew away only to shortly bring more rocks. "I'm going to throw them rapidly, okay? I'll move further just in case." Goten did just that.
Centorea prepared her wooden sword. Once Goten began throwing, she rapidly began swinging her sword. The rocks were like bullets fresh out of a semi-automatic gun. The rocks moved so swiftly that the Centaur was barely able to follow them with her eyes. 'Remember Centorea, let the sword be your guide…' Centorea hit one of the rocks, and rapidly began slicing the others.
"Woah, you weren't kidding Cerea! Your reflexes are off the charts!"
"Don't doubt me. When I was young, my mother taught me how to counter opponents with superior speed. If an opponent's technique is faster, you must be able to predict their next movement. Your arm moved fast, but for a split second, I was able to see how you were throwing the rocks. I simply used the length of the sword to cover the trajectory of the rocks you threw. It also helped that you said you were aiming away from my body."
"I'm not surprised. You are a seasoned warrior after all. Did I go too easy for you?"
"Not at all! It was just the right speed, at least for the time being. It's not my place to complain after you went out of your way to teach me. In truth, I was taught something similar as a child, but it wasn't described in the same manner as you explained it. I have trained myself in fencing, spearmanship, archery, and a variety of martial arts so the principle of ki isn't completely new to me. However, the way you use it very much is. The art of using the blade as an extension of oneself was a lesson taught to me at a young age but I had no idea the energy within me could be used in such ways."
"I gotta admit though, it's amazing that can cut through those rocks so perfectly with a wooded sword. You're a natural. You'll get the hang of it in no time!"
"I fully intend to practice in my free time. My swordsmanship has never felt more efficient."
"If you don't want to it's up to you, but what do you say to a little spar? To make it fair, I won't use any energy techniques nor will I fly. I want to fight you on your level. Oh, and feel free to use your sword if you want."
Centorea proudly smiled. "I would be honored to have a spar with you, Sensei."
"I know just the place! So uh, hey. How good are you with heights?"
"I don't mind them. Why do you ask?"
"Well…
"Y-You're not going to drop me, are you?! Please tell me you'll land slowly!" Centorea remembered how Papi had dropped Miia from the sky that one time.
"Relax Cerea, I did this with my mom all the time."
"Could you go a little faster? I don't want to be like this any longer than I need to be. If I let go, I'll surely meet my end." She said.
"If you fall, I'll catch you. We both know I've got the reflexes for that. Don't you wanna enjoy the scenery a bit though? Outside of an airplane, you won't get a view like this."
"No, I think I'd rather get there as fast as possible. Apologies for rushing you, but this predicament is highly unnerving for me."
"Okay! Hold on tight!" Said Goten.
Centorea did just that. 'I should really trust him more. It's not like this is Papi we're dealing with. Goten should know what he's doing and it is a nice view...' She thought.
Goten blasted off with Centorea holding onto him.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!" She screamed.
Goten would descend into a forest where he gently let Centorea down.
"N-Never again. I know I told you to go faster but I did not anticipate you'd go that fast! Is that how my master feels when he mounts me?" Said Centorea.
Goten turned his attention to the forest. "Yo Kii! I brought someone here! They aren't human so would you mind if I trained with her in here? I promise I won't blow anything up!"
Kii came out from the shadows. "I see you brought a friend along."
Goten sensed a powerful energy nearby and looked in the direction of it. He saw Papi happily flying around and Suu chasing her. "Woah, so I guess we're not the only ones with an idea to come here huh?"
"What brings you here, Goten?"
"Well, I was wondering if you'd allow me to train with my friend. We won't blow anything up, I promise."
"Well… she isn't a human so it's fine."
"Thanks, Kii, you're the best!"
"Goten, you're here!" Said Suu.
"Yep! Looks like you and Papi snuck out the house again?" Said Goten.
Papi flew down and stuck out her tongue.
"Well, you seem to be in pretty good shape." Said Goten.
"Yeah, my leg is all healed up now! Suu told me all about how you're going to teach her how to fly."
"I will, but I'll get to that later. You see, I came here to spar with Cerea.
"Can we watch?" Said Papi.
"Why of course. You may bear witness to our legendary duel." Said Centorea.
"I do not see the point, but I suppose I will watch too. I will stop you if either of you ravage my forest." Said Kii.
"Yes, ma'am." Said Goten
"Understood." Said Centorea.
The Saiyan and Centaur got on opposite sides. Goten bowed, and Centorea did the same.
"This is going to be fun. I can't wait to see how a Centaur fights."
Centorea began doing her own set of stretches. "Likewise, Goten. A proud warrior race lives on within you. Show me the will of the Saiyan race!"
Centorea chose not to use her sword. The two warriors charged at each other. Goten ran up to her and wound up his arm for a punch. Naturally, Centorea blocked, but she was pushed back by the sheer amount of force.
'His attacks are heavy yet fast. I can already tell this won't be an easy battle. Even so, I will not relent! I must be ready for whatever may come.' Centorea thought.
Goten vanished and appeared in front of her causing Centorea to go for another punch but Goten dropped to the ground and did a sweep kick, knocking her off balance. Goten lifted his body up with his hands and kicked her away. As the Centaur slid backward, the Saiyan ran after her, jumped and did a 360 spin kick. Centorea miraculously managed to block it, using all the willpower she had to not be pushed back. She didn't even have a chance to fight back as the Saiyan teenager used his other leg to jab her twice in the stomach and then swung his leg at her shoulder.
This staggered the centaur and Goten did a backflip to distance himself. He ran up back up and tried to punch her but Centorea grabbed his fist, and tossed it aside to knock him off balance. She went for a palm to the chin only for Goten to dodge it by leaning back. Cerea used her front hoof to kick Goten's leg. The Saiyan jumped up and spun his body vertically to kick Centorea from above. Centorea blocked it with both arms, causing the ground beneath her to break.
"I know you said you weren't going easy on me, but this is beyond what I expected. I'm glad I got to see your fighting style up close and personal." Said Centorea.
"I live to please. Now, why don't you return the favor?"
"My pleasure." Said Cerea. She grabbed Goten's leg and threw him down. As Goten tried to regain his balance, he tried to punch Centorea. Centorea blocked his punch and held it in place before swinging the back of her hand sideways into the side of his face. She turned her body around and kicked him right in the stomach with her back hoof." This knocked him to the ground, but Goten immediately stood up on his hands and double kicked her chest, causing her breast to fly up.
"How dare you?!"
"How dare I what? I thought we were sparing." Said Goten confused.
"N-Nevermind! Prepare yourself!" Centorea blushed as she ran at Goten to build up momentum before turning her body around and kicking him with her hind hoof. Goten blocked it by crossing his arms but was not moved an inch. He was about to strike Centorea, but the Centaur stepped back and elbowed him in the gut. She grabbed his arm and threw him over her shoulder. The Saiyan planted his feet into the ground only to be met with a Centaur tackling him to the ground.
She raised a hoof over him. "Do you surrender? Surely this isn't your best."
Goten smirked. "I can do much better than this. I was just testing the waters to see if you can keep up."
"Don't underestimate me." She tried stomping him with her front hooves, but Goten parried her every blow with his arms. He got up and pushed her into the air but pressing both hands against her horse stomach. Goten jumped high into the air before slamming Centorea diagonally into the ground with both hands.
Cerea's hooves shook as she stood up. "Not bad. I'd expect nothing less from a man raised by a family of martial artists. However, I do hope for your sake, you aren't taking me too lightly. If you do, I can promise you, it will be your downfall. You can get away with it in a spar but on the battlefield, the stakes will be much higher. I strongly advise against taking your enemies lightly." Said Centorea.
"I'm a martial artist just like my parents. We don't go all out from the start, but this isn't arrogance. I'd do the same against someone at my level or stronger depending on the seriousness of battle. It's all about measuring my strength and skill against my opponents."
"So, you hold back not because you underestimate me, but because you want to gauge my strength?"
"Yeah, that's part of it. I know my strength, so I regulate it. But I wanna see what kind of techniques are up your sleeves and how they compare to mine. It's how I improve as a fighter." Said Goten.
"There's no need to sugarcoat it. I know I stand no chance against you under normal circumstances. In your hands, you possess the power to destroy planets. It must be difficult for you; you were born with unnatural strength so it's rare for you to fight an opponent on equal footing."
"Back home I had Trunks to spar with and occasionally dad, but I was mostly at home studying or at school. I wasn't able to get out much, so even though it hurts knowing I might never see my family again, I'm glad I get to do things like this now."
Centorea smiled. "Then let us continue, shall we?"
Goten returned her smile. "Let's go."
Goten used the afterimage technique making it appear as if there were multiple Gotens.
"Explain. I thought you said you weren't using any techniques."
"No. I said I wasn't using any energy techniques. Your training session isn't over yet!" Said one of the Gotens.
"You fell right into my trap! You should not have spoken!" Centorea tried to buck the Goten that spoke with her hooves. However, that Goten vibrated and disappeared.
"It was a fake?!"
Another of the Gotens appeared behind her and grabbed her by both of her back hooves. "It was never going to be that easy."
"What are you doing?" Said Centorea concerned.
Goten spun her around in a circle and threw her a good distance away. When she planted her feet on the ground, the first thing she saw was Goten running right at her ready to swing his fist at her. She was blasted away and knocked down.
"You told me not to go easy on you. I can teach you later if you want but we've got spectators so let's make this a show."
"Woah, there's like 1…2…3… 12 Gotens!" Said Papi. The group had followed Centorea after she was thrown away.
"He's moving so fast he's creating afterimages." Said Suu.
"I fail to see what's so entertaining about this." Said Kii.
Centorea got up. 'There's so many of him. Which one of him is real? Wait, that's it!' "Alright Son Goten, let's give them something to remember!"
"Time to get this show on the road!" Said Goten. "Oh, and feel free to take out your wooden sword."
"I refuse. I cannot carry a weapon everywhere I go. I must be prepared to fight even when I am unarmed."
"Alright then… Let's go!" Said Goten. Centorea was encircled by the Gotens. One of the Gotens went in for a punch and Centorea blocked it. However, instead of hitting her, the Goten phased through her like a ghost. The real Goten appeared behind the Goten that vanished and struck her in the stomach with a barrage of kicks and punches. He ended the assault by palming her in the gut.
Centorea recoiled in pain but grabbed Goten's arm. "This is… nothing!" She proceeded to judo throw Goten to the ground, creating cracks."
"That's some strength of will you've got there. You've been trained well and it shows but there's something else that I can't put my finger on." Goten spoke casually as if he wasn't just slammed hard on the ground.
"It's only natural is it not? I am of the Shianus household. Among Centaurs, we are regarded as the strongest! We have a reputation to uphold." Said Cerea proudly.
"Well, there's something you should know about us Saiyans. When we face off against powerful foes, we get stronger. When we come across adversity, our minds and bodies slowly adapt. If our enemy is stronger, we'll slowly close that gap and develop new techniques and better reactions to our enemy's attacks. In other words, if you wanna win, you better pull out all the stops."
"That does explain why you performed better after being brutalized by that beast. I will never forget that feeling of dread." Centorea thought of when her sword broke on Cell's skin. "I have never been so helpless in my life. Yet at times, you were also helpless yet you kept fighting. I need that strength, the strength to continue fighting no matter how futile it may seem. I may never reach your level but no matter how strong you are, I refuse to back down!" Said Cerea firmly.
"Then let's finish this, shall we?" Goten smirked confidently.
"You've read my mind."
Goten and Centorea charged at one another and began going at it. Centorea punched at Goten but the Saiyan jumped and dodged midair by doing a 360 spin. Centorea turned her body around to build momentum and used her back hoof to try and kick the Saiyab but Goten countered her kick with his own. Centorea turned around once more and they began clashing with their knees, leaving only their hands open. They grabbed one another's hands in an effort to overpower the other.
Centorea raised her energy increasing her strength more, and Goten did the same albeit slightly. Centorea gave up on trying to push Goten and instead pulled him in closer so she could restrain him to force him to forfeit. "I know your body is too durable for me to incapacitate you through normal means so I'll just have to use your own body against you." As she brought him closer, Goten kicked her, forcing the Centaur to let him go and sending him to the ground.
Before Goten hit the ground, he vanished completely.
"Goten disappeared. Where is he?" Centorea wondered outloud.
"Where did he go?" Said Suu.
Centorea was on guard waiting for Goten to strike from any angle. Suddenly she heard a noise and when she looked around, she saw Goten sitting atop a tree branch.
"Ever wonder who'd win in a fight between a monkey and a horse?" Goten asked.
"That's a rather strange question. And at a time like this no less? Regardless, horse has a size, speed, and strength advantage. The monkey's best bet would be to get on the horse's back and even then, it is unlikely the monkey would be able to keep up with its speed." Said Centorea.
"I'm actually inclined to believe you. But it's not impossible for the monkey to win. You see, in an area with many trees much like this one, the monkey would have the advantage. Physically the monkey is outmatched but they're unpredictable." Said Goten.
The Saiyan rapidly bounced between trees, hitting Centorea every now and then. Goten was fighting at her level meaning she was fighting against a Saiyan who had her exact battle power. Every hit was a heavy blow that could have knocked her out but Centorea remained resolute. Through sheer will power alone, she was able to push past the natural limits of a centaur. Unknown to the centaur herself, she shared something in common with the Saiyan resulting in great potential.
"If I can't win, at the very least, I will make him work for it!" Said Centorea.
Goten was about to ambush her from her blind spot but Centorea turned around and blocked his flying kick with her arms. The force of the kick pushed her back a bit. Centorea didn't even get a chance to recover from the blow and Goten vanished and reappeared right in front of her for an uppercut. Centorea leaned back to dodge but Goten spun his body and hit her with his knee. Unlike before, she wasn't sent far back and swiftly turned around to build momentum so she could deliver a hard kick to him with her back hooves. Goten blocked with his leg and dropped to the ground. With her rear exposed, Goten quickly got up and upwardly kicked it.
The impact of Goten's kick was so hard that Centorea was sent flying through the air, being slightly lifted of the ground this time. As she was flying through the air Goten appeared above her and swatted her to the ground.
Centorea lied on the ground and Goten stood right next to her. "Are you alright? I hope I didn't overdo it. Sorry, it's just I haven't felt this level of excitement in a while. I guess it reminded me of the spars I had back home and I got carried away."
"Nonsense! You have nothing to apologize for, this was exactly what I wanted. I'm grateful, I got to experience the power of a Saiyan firsthand. This pain I'm feeling means nothing to me!" Centorea slowly got back up. "Get ready Son Goten, because I Centorea Shianus will fight until the bitter end!" The centaur charged right at Goten with a flurry of marital arts techniques.
Goten swayed his body, dodging every blow. "Listen, Cerea, it's okay. I think I understand what level you're at now."
Centorea grabbed him and slammed him into a tree. "I'm still not done yet! It's not over until fall!" She hit him with a flurry of martial arts techniques taught to her by her mother.
"Cerea, I know how you feel but sometimes it's best to cut your losses. I know you're trying to prepare yourself against foes as powerful as me but I'm not them. You'll have another chance to spar with me again, I promise." Said Goten as she pummeled him. His ki was suppressed to her level but she still couldn't bypass the natural durability of the Saiyan. He was able to talk clearly because every strike was like being hit with a paper ball.
"Yes… that may be true but… A centaur's battle is never truly over until she's given it her all!" Centorea wound up her arm and focused her ki into her arm. She charged into Goten and with everything she had, she punched Goten in the gut with a fist shrouded in white ki. Goten gasped in surprise at the sheer power of the strike. Centorea looked at his face and smirked at his look of surprise. The tree behind Goten was damaged a bit as well.
"Not bad huh? Are you surprised? I have you to thank for this. You… have witnessed the true power of a Centaur!" Said Centorea exhausted.
Goten had serious looking expression with his hair obscuring his eyes. "Sorry to say this but… you're dead wrong."
"Whatever could you mean by that?! I put ounce of strength into that strike! I focused my energy, where did I go wrong? Did I even do the slightest bit of damage to you?"
"Oh, I felt that all right. I mean it didn't hurt, but I felt the power you put behind it. Throughout this entire session, you've improved greatly in such a short amount of time. At first you couldn't take my hits without being blown away. But it didn't take long for you started taking hits and countering with your own. This is far from the true power of a Centaur. Centorea Shianus, you're far stronger than you think you are. As strong as you are now, you're not even close to reaching your full potential. Back home, there are human ki users who could fight against people who could destroy planets too. If a human can get that strong, I wonder… just how strong can a centaur get? It makes you think, doesn't it? Would you mind showing me someday?"
Centorea gave Goten a weak smile. "That… sounds like it would be rather enjoyable. Very well, I hereby swear to you, I will one day show you the true strength of the Centaurs. I'm satisfied because I fought as hard as I could. I proudly accept my defeat, Sensei." Centorea fell to the ground and passed out.
"You were awesome Cerea. Here, let me help you." Goten shared his energy with Centorea to re-energize her. She shortly woke up.
"W-Where am I?!" She said.
"We're still in the forest." Said Goten.
"I remember now! We had an intense sparring session and I lost." She said. "It would appear I still have a lot to learn." Centorea felt a variety of emotions but disappointment was not one of them. The most prevalent emotions were curiosity and excitement.
"Well maybe, but it's the most fun I had in a while. Seriously, fighting criminals is fun but they never put up a fight. And no one's life was in danger so that was also a plus."
"That was amazing Centorea! You're really strong!" Said Papi.
"Yeah, really strong! Really strong! Suu wants to fight next!" Said Suu.
"Papi wants in on this too!" Said Papi.
"Hold on, why does everyone suddenly want to fight me?" Said Goten.
"I fail to understand that as well. Why would you enjoy harming someone you don't despise?" Kii asked.
"It's not that I enjoy hurting people, it's the thrill I feel when I'm in a fight. It's kinda hard to explain it, but I guess that's just how my brain is wired." Said Goten.
"It's not a matter of causing pain or receiving it, it's enjoyable because we're testing our limits against one another, a friendly competition if you will. It's like playing a competitive sport or challenging someone to a race." Said Centorea.
"I still don't get how that's enjoyable." Said Kii.
"Hmm… I have an idea!" Said Goten.
"What is it?" Said Papi.
"How about a game? I don't have a flag or anything like that so what should I use? I got it! Cerea, you still got a spare wooden sword?"
"Of course." Said Centorea. She handed him his wooden sword.
"Excellent. So, the rules of the game are: If you take the sword from me, you win. You can use force, and you're allowed to fly if you can, and Suu, you can use blasts but don't do anything too destructive. Remember what I taught you. If I lose, dinner's on me." Said Goten.
"Oki doki!" Said Suu.
"You in Kii?" Goten asked.
"I suppose I will indulge in your human game."
Goten would pick up the wooden sword that Centorea brought and would stand in one spot."
"Centorea, feel free to use your wooden sword as well. I want everyone to try their hardest to take the sword from me. I hope you enjoy Kii."

Goten stepped back to distance himself from the others and got into a fighting stance. "3….2…1… Go!"
'What do they got planned? Hold on, I sense something coming from below!' Goten thought. He jumped up high into the air and roots followed. Goten turned around and swung his wooden sword at the roots, knocking them away.
"I'll give you an A for effort, but it's not going to be that easy!" Said Goten looking down at Kii.
"Then how about this!" Papi yelled. She tackled Goten to the ground.
"Urk!" Goten yelped.
"Alright Suu, it's all up to you!"
"My pleasure…" said Suu with a twisted smile.
"Oh no… I don't like the way she's looking at me…" Said Goten. He tried flying away but realized his feet were entangled by some roots. "Crap!"
"That wasn't difficult. Is this what you consider fun?" Kii asked.
Suu's tentacles restrained one of Goten's arms but Goten flared his energy, freeing him from Kii. He slammed Suu into the ground, causing her to dematerialize into a puddle before returning to her humanoid form.
"Close call, but it's still not enough. I can tell this is going to be a lot harder than I thought." Said Goten. He charged up his energy causing the ground around him to vibrate. "Alright, you've got my attention. I'm not playing around." Said Goten.
The Saiyan began bouncing around trees at a faster rate than when he was sparring with Centorea. This time, he was using his after-image technique which made it appear as if there were dozens of blurry lines flying all over the place.
"What's going on? This is different from before." Said Kii. She summoned multiple giant roots to try and hit Goten but he was too fast and she was unable to find the real Goten.
"Wait don't do anything! He's trying to fool you into tiring yourself out!" Said Centorea. She looked around and realized Suu was missing. "Wait Suu, where did you go? Suu!"
Suu was chasing the blurry line and was catching up just by running.
'Darn it, looks like Suu's on my tail. Well, there's only one way to deal with this.' Goten thought. He bounced off a tree and swung his leg at Suu. The Slime blocked it prompting Goten to try to kick her with his other leg. However, this leg went through her body and got stuck inside of it.
"Crap, I'm stuck!"
"I caught you~." Said Suu. She extended her tentacles towards Goten.
"Hey, what do you think you're doing?! Don't do it!"
"Tickle Tickle!" She said.
"Hahahahahaha!" Goten couldn't contain his laughter.
"There he is!" Centorea pointed.
"Crap! Hahahahahaha! This is bad! Cyclone Style: Tornado Hurricane!" Goten swung his fist around and thrusted it into Suu. The punch itself just went inside Suu but the cyclone created by the punch sent Suu flying away in a tornado that caused water to fly off her body, slightly shrinking her. "That should keep her away for now."
Centorea attempted to strike Goten with her wooden sword and Goten blocked her strikes with his own sword. "'Cyclone Style'. Tell me, Is that the name of your fighting style?" Cerea asked as they exchanged blows.
"Well actually, my style is based on the Turtle Hermit's fighting style. Cyclone style is just something Trunks and I sort of came up with. We were inspired by a fictional character so we thought we'd incorporate it into our fighting styles whenever we fought crime. Something to differentiate from the normal way we fight. The thing is the techniques are pretty useful outside of crime fighting too." Said Goten.
"Would I be correct in assuming you're a wind-based fighter? In your previous battle, you generated a whirlwind from your hands that pushed us out of harm's way." Said Centorea as she continued to clash with Goten.
"I wouldn't say that. While I do use wind-based techniques, I wouldn't say that's most of my moves. By the way, how am I doing with the sword?" Said Goten as he clashed with Cerea.
"Your form is off. If it weren't for the strength of your grip and the energy you're channeling in your blade, it would have been knocked out of your grasp by now. If you were up against a sword user equal to you in power, you would lose." She said bluntly.
"That's fair. I was trained in martial arts, not swordplay. But that's okay since you're going to teach me." Said Goten.
"That is correct. I will offer some advice: When you swing your sword, you must use your entire body… like this!" Centorea channeled her energy into her sword and swung it up from under Goten, surprising the Saiyan and breaking his guard, forcing him to hold his sword up.
"Gotcha!" Said Papi. She appeared above Goten and took hold of the sword with her talons.
"It's over." Said Kii who appeared at the scene with a wooden chair carried by crawling roots. She used her roots to restrain Goten's arms to hopefully make it easier for Papi to take away the wooden sword.
Centorea pointed her blade at Goten's neck. "Do you yield?" She said.
Goten smirked. "I do not." As he held the sword up, he twirled the sword in circles, causing Papi to fall off and loosening the grip Kii had on him by flaring his energy once more. He tried escaping but Suu ended up blasting right into him and attacking his stomach with a flurry of punches hurling him across the ground until he hit a tree, his hand still holding a tight grip on the wooden blade.
"Ow, that actually hurt! She caught me off guard so I took the full brunt of that attack! Sheesh! I have to hand it to ya Suu, you're one tough gal!"
"Thanks, teacher!" Suu blushed at the compliment.
"Luckily, I devised a technique specifically to deal with your slimy body.' Goten's body was surrounded by a thin white aura. "I figured there might be a time we'd run into a foe with a body like yours so I created the perfect counter." The Saiyan flew at Suu while covered in a yellowish orange ki aura.
Suu was pushed back as Goten flew into her torso. Suu responded by slamming Goten into the ground. She picked up his legs, spun him around, and then she threw him before firing a high-pressure water beam from her mouth which appeared as a beam. The beam completely engulfed the Saiyan.
"Suu, you didn't kill him, did you?" Kii asked.
"I understand your concern, but it would take more than that to do Goten in… or not!" Cerea panicked when there was nothing but water vapor where Suu charged the beam.
"Think again!" Goten appeared in front of Suu and threw an air punch at her at point-blank range, blasting her far away.
Centorea tried to strike him from behind but he blocked it from behind his back. "Am I doing better?" Goten asked.
As Suu lied on the ground, she gestured for Kii and Papi to come to her. "Kii, Papi! Come here!" Said Suu. Both girls came to Suu was on the ground. "I have a plan…"
"What's your idea Suu?" Papi asked.
Goten and Centorea engaged in a sword fight. Goten was very much an amateur but he made up for it in his strength and Ki control. Still, Centorea was able to strike Goten more than he was able to strike her due to having more experience. As a result, Centorea had the upper hand in this skirmish.
"You've definitely got better at ki control. Are you able to use any new moves?"
"Not just yet, what happened before was a fluke but I will put time into mastering what I have learned from you." Centorea forced Goten on the defensive. Centorea struck Goten too many times to count while Goten was able to hit Centorea three times. His blows did heavy damage to her but unfortunately for the Saiyan, Centorea's blows were getting harder with almost every strike. It wasn't enough to hurt Goten, but it was the perfect distraction for…
"Oh, hi Goten! Woah that's a cool sword fight! I wanna try!" Papi tried taking the sword from Goten's hand.
'Dang it! Papi's not a fighter so I can't attack her! Well, I have one way to deal with her!' Goten thought. He flew ran around the forest at high speeds with Papi still holding onto his wooden sword.
"Wow, this is fun! Go faster, go faster!" Said Papi.
"That's the plan." Goten slightly accelerated, making the Harpy dizzy. He laid her to rest near a tree and went back to Centorea. "Sorry, for the interruption but I'm back now." Said Goten.
Suddenly a giant root came at Goten, causing him to dodge. "Woah, that was close! Kii, you're really upping your game!" Said Goten.
Multiple massive roots, each as large as multiple trees stacked together, came flying at Goten. The Saiyan jumped on one of them and led the others to crash into one another. Goten stood on the tangled-up roots that came from Kii and then Suu descended from the sky with Kii's roots attached to her.
"Suu?! What are you doing?" Said Goten.
"Remember when you were inside Suu and gave her your energy? Well, Suu is doing the same for Kii! Kii also shared some of her water with Suu." Said the slime girl.
"Well, if it isn't the consequences of my own actions." Goten frowned.
Suddenly Centorea appeared as she had climbed the giant roots. "You cannot escape me, Goten!"
"I'm not going to run, come at me!" said Goten.
"Centorea, wait!"
"What is it Suu?"
"Have you noticed how he fights faster when he's up against me, but he fights slower when he fights against you? He's lowering his energy to make this a fair fight but what would happen if we attack at the same time?" Suu whispered.
"You're a genius Suu. Very well, let's fight together."
They ran towards Goten. Suu with a barrage of punches, and Centorea with a volley of sword slashes. Goten was simultaneously blocking both but was being pushed back by the strength of Suu. Goten looked back and realized he was about to fall off the bundle of giant roots made by Kii. As he was about to fall, Suu was about to blast him with a pressurized water blast from her finger, but Goten smirked confidently.
"I see what you're doing. I gotta say, it's a pretty neat strategy, but there's something you didn't account for. SOLAR FLARE!" A blinding light emitted from Goten's eyes blinding the two. Goten stepped in between the two and spoke. "You did well but… this is the end..."
With a shout, Goten blew Centorea and Suu off the roots with a Kiai (A multi-directional air blast). He caught Centorea before she hit the ground and gently planted her on her feet. As for Suu, she fell on the other side of the roots.
"There we go. So, are you ready to call it quits? I'm still not tired so I can go longer, but can you?" Said Goten.
"You're right, this is too much for me… to do alone that is." Said Centorea.
"Huh?"
From behind Goten, roots much smaller than the big roots from Kii wrapped themselves around Goten's body. The roots while smaller were still big enough to almost entirely cover Goten's torso.
"I-I can't get out!" Said Goten.
Suu ascended from the other side, revealing that Kii's roots were still attached to her.
Finally, Papi flew behind Goten and grabbed the sword. Kii tightened her grip, loosening Goten's grip which allowed Papi to take the blade from Goten's hands.
OST End
"I got it! That means we win!" Said Papi.
"Aw dang it! You beat me!" Said Goten.
"We won!" Suu said happily.
"You were a worthy opponent, Son Goten. We wouldn't have been able to win had not cooperated with one another." Said Centorea.
"Yeah, I had a lot of fun." Said Goten.
"Me too!" That Papi.
"Me three!" Said Suu.
"Well how about you? Kii was it?" Centorea asked.
"I'll admit, I did feel some satisfaction at finally being able to catch Goten after he evaded me for so long." Said Kii.
"How did you manage to restrain Goten anyway? Suu I can understand but you? Were you always this strong?" Centorea asked.
"No, I wasn't. Before, Goten was easily able to break out of my vines. He shouted loudly and walked towards me with a ball of energy. I thought for sure he was going to destroy me for trying to hurt him and his friend but instead, he gave me energy." Said Kii.
"I see, so that's what happened on that day. Goten said he did everything he could to help and after seeing what he did for my master and what he did for me, it lines up." Said Centorea.
"Kii absorbed water from Suu's body and Suu transferred her ki into the water. By doing that, I was able to strengthen Kii exponentially. That's why the roots were so big. It's just like when Goten went inside of me and powered me up." Said Suu.
"Hey, that was a pretty well-thought-out strategy. When I'm in my normal state, you're on par with me. With your power, Kii was able to restrain me in a way that completely restricted my movements and when she tightened her grip on me, it gave Papi the perfect opening to snatch the sword away from me."
"In your normal state, yes. But I'm curious, why didn't you transform into a Super Saiyan? If you had, you surely could have easily broken out of Kii's grasp." Said Centorea.
"Well how should I put this… It would have helped, but at the end of the day, the result would have been the same. One of the reasons I didn't go Super Saiyan was because it's harder to control my energy. Let's say I'm holding a glass cup. I'd have to make a conscious effort to avoid shattering it. Aaaand… now that I think about it, I seriously could have got into some serious financial trouble over at that arcade." Said Goten.
"Explain. How would going Super Saiyan not have made a difference? If you were worried about having an unfair advantage, you could have simply reverted as soon as you escaped." Said Centorea.
"Yeah, I could have but remember what I said about cutting your losses? I don't think I would have been able to beat Suu and it's not because she's too strong for me. Suu isn't made of flesh and blood like us, she's a living liquid. If she wasn't immune to blunt force before, she pretty much is now. I'm confident I could have beaten her if I used blasts, but if I destroyed her core, she'd die. Suu may have been my opponent, but she wasn't my enemy. My best bet was to wait until she got tired but you lot made that very hard and she wasn't showing any signs of fatigue either. I tried incapacitating her by taking the water out of her with wind but she always ended up finding more water, probably from all the vegetation. I guess in the end, the forest worked more to Suu's advantage more than mine."
"It's true that I have yet to see Suu feel any sort of pain. I doubt she felt pain even when she was absorbed. You have many advantages yourself; you have more experience and you can fly." Said Centorea.
"I wanted a fair fight."
"With all due respect, 4 against 1 is hardly what I'd call fair even if your power far exceeds one out of the four." Said Centorea.
"No. I lost, plain and simple." Said Goten. "But that's fine. I had fun and so did everyone else. Isn't that right Kii?"
"Yes. If it's alright with you, can we do this again?" Said the Dryad.
Goten smiled at her. "Of course! Well, a promise is a promise. Dinners on me next time!"
"Alright! You hear that Suu?" Said Papi.
"Suu!" She said excitedly.
'Somethings seems off. In our spar, he wasn't just fighting to win, he was actively training me. Something tells me he was doing the same in this game but he's too humble to admit he went easy on us. He wasn't holding back against me because he viewed me as lesser, but because he believed it was a necessity for us to grow. I think I fully understand his intentions.' Centorea thought.
"Son Goten. I would like to thank thee for sparing with me and teaching me how to control my energy. On my honor as a Centaur, I will repay you for this kindness by showing you results. You did not look down on me for my gender and for that, you deserve my utmost respect."
"Look down on you for your gender? Now why would I do that?" Goten asked.
"Because women are naturally weaker than men. As a child, I was often ridiculed for my desire to become someone's knight. More times than not, a male centaur's only merit was strength and we female centaurs are expected to mate with them if only to continue our bloodlines. Female centaurs who are forced in such a position not only have to share their husband with multiple women, but are often not respected as a person. That's why I lo- I MEAN HIGHLY REGARD MY MASTER!"
"Centorea, my mother was a martial artist, a strong one at that. In fact, she trained me and is the reason I learned how to go Super Saiyan in the first place. There's another strong woman I know too. Back when Trunks and I were kids, we went to a world tournament and after the junior division, we beat up a guy and stole his outfit so we could compete with the adults."
"You what?! Why would you do that?!"
Goten sighed. "We were a couple of dumb kids who wanted a challenge, I'm not proud of it. To this day, I still kind of feel bad about ruining his chance to get 10 million Zeni though in all fairness, the guy still would have lost."
"I'm going to assume Zeni was the currency in the land you hail from. How can you be so sure he would have lost?"
Goten nodded to confirm that Zeni was indeed currency in his world. "Because there was a woman with blonde hair like yours. She was so strong that she took on both of us even as Super Saiyans."
"You may have been children but your race is truly formidable. How did your battle with this woman end?"
"Well, she split the costume in two which separated us. We were disqualified for illegally entering and also for teaming up in a tournament meant for 1v1s."
Centorea noticed the sadness in his voice. "You were a mischievous young man but I cannot hold that against you now. May I ask who this female warrior was?"
"Try not to panic but… her name was Android 18. She was also made to kill my dad. Well actually, Dr. Gero kidnapped her and her brother and turned them into androids against their will. He programmed them to kill my dad though I guess they ended up turning on him and killing him… not that I really blame them for that."
"It is utterly abominable what he does to people! Turning them into killing machines against their will? What is wrong with him?!"
"I don't know, never met the guy. Some people are just rotten like that." Said Goten.
"It would seem the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Listen Goten, I don't know the details of your relationship with his grandson, but I don't trust him."
"Welcome to the club, I don't trust him either but I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he was coerced into doing what he did and it was all a misunderstanding on 16 and Reaper's part. I hope that's the case but I don't know what I'd do in that situation."
"Son Goten, the thought of raising my blade against a friend of yours does not bring me joy. However, if Dr. Hedo brings harm to my master, he will know my wrath whether you like him or not."
"If he brings harm to your master, he'll know mine first." Said Goten.
Centorea did a double take at the silent anger in Goten's voice. His anger wasn't directed at her yet it terrified her. "I-I see. That is… an understandable reaction." She said. She wasn't the only one who was scared. Even Kii was fearful of Goten.
Goten's voice grew softer. "I felt bad for him, ya know? He was with the guys who kidnapped my niece and I forgave him. Sure Pan was never in any real danger, but it was done to lure and kill my brother. He was manipulated by the remnants of the Red Ribbon Army into doing it though. He ended up losing someone important to him in our battle against Cell Max and that android saved all of our lives. We decided to keep the whole thing under wraps and let bygones be bygones. Bulma even gave the guy a job. He set up a field trip for my class and it really seemed like he was on the right track…"
"Goten I-" Centorea tried to speak.
"Going to Capsule Corp wasn't exactly rare for me since the CEO is Trunks's mom but I wanted to see how he was holding up. Hedo and his android, Gamma 1 actually saved me from Boruchi before I was accidentally sent to this world. Now I'm finding out that not only is he in this world, but he's working with the same bad guys who used him before and he brought Cell back AGAIN and almost got me killed!"
"Your anger is justified. You were more than merciful to him when you had more than enough reason not to be. A betrayal of that magnitude cannot go unpunished."
"No, I'm being too hasty. I don't have all the facts just yet. Before I got teleported here, Boruchi took control over the bodies of random civilians. They spoke in synch and Boruchi popped out of one of their heads like a blob. I can easily deduce he has mind control. There was a ship or something that blasted a beam down and I was blasted away into the machine that sent me here. It's possible that Boruchi took control of his mind afterward. I don't know if Gamma 1 would harm his creator even if he were under the control of a villain."
"While that may be true, it could also be possible that Dr. Hedo just isn't as redeemable as you wish him to be. Maybe he was serious about atoning for his crimes, but people can easily fall back on to old habits."
"Even so, I want to believe he changed for the better. Cell Max was a dangerous foe but he never got the chance to reach the public. Bringing back the original Cell and getting millions of people killed isn't something I can overlook. But if he's under the influence of that parasite, I can't hold that against him. There are so many unanswered questions but I do know if Boruchi has access to Dr. Hedo's mind, it spells disaster for us all."
"Then let me ask you this. If Hedo's actions were indeed influenced by Boruchi's control and there was no way to free him, could you bring yourself to kill him?"
"I would search for a way to free him. If Hedo's under his control, I'll defeat Boruchi which should free him right?"
"An ideal scenario. But what if it doesn't? What if Hedo becomes a puppet that acts on his will even after death?" She asked.
"Then I'll do everything I can to bring him back to normal!"
"Goten, I respect you and I am grateful to you for many reasons. If you truly believe Dr. Hedo is under the influence of Boruchi, I will support you in your efforts to save him. However, you should know that if you hesitate to act when it is necessary, that hesitation could very well lead to your downfall. I myself will continue to get stronger and should I encounter Hedo, I will deal with him however I deem necessary. I ask that you understand my point of view. If Hedo is indeed under the control of evil being, I would want nothing more than for him regain his freedom. But I'm not willing to risk the fate of the world on the off chance that he can be saved. Assuming Hedo is indeed under control, it would indeed be a be a tragic end to his life, but that pales in comparison to the alternative."
"When Cell absorbed Suu, I was desperate to free her and Beta 1 and almost got absorbed myself. It's impossible to tell now, but I might've been able to kill Cell early if I wasn't worried about killing my friends. This allowed him to grow in power which led to more people dying." Said Goten once again feeling guilty. Before Centorea could respond he rose his head up and continued. "But because of that, I was able to free both of them and Reaper was able to die in peace while Suu was able to absorb Cell. Now that Suu is around, I know there's someone who could take my place when I'm not around."
"That's a positive way to look at things. It's bittersweet but in the end, your actions will lead to more people being saved. As a student of yours, I vow to ensure those who fell that day will not die in vain. I intend to use what you taught me to do good for the world you fought so hard to protect."
"Thank you."
"I should be thanking you. You've given me the means to improve myself as a knight to my master. In regards to those who have died, the best you can do is to move forward and the fact that you are shows that you're strong."
"Thank you, but in a way you're actually stronger than me. The truth is if I could go back in time and do things differently, I wouldn't. The only reason I decided to kill Cell even if it meant killing Suu and Beta 1 was because I knew that if I died, there'd by no one to stand up to Cell. Believe me, I know it's stupid but that's just how I am. I want to be smarter about this in the future but I can't just force myself to change."
"Then you don't have to. Everyone has their strengths and weaknesses. That's why I will become strong enough to compliment both of them and I hope you can do the same for mine. I won't talk down to you because I know how much you value life, but once I'm strong enough, I will be there to make the hard decisions that you can't."
"I appreciate that. I will still stand by my sense of justice but I won't pretend my way is always the right way. In the case of Hedo, I can probably prevent Hedo from doing anything while I look for a way to fix him. It may be wishful thinking but I'll continue to hope for the best. If he's innocent and just being controlled, I will do everything I can to save him. It's idealistic but if there isn't a way to save him, I will make a way." Said Goten.
"I'm glad you're staying true to your sense of justice even if it differs from mine. It's terrifying to think that as powerful as you are, there's human technology that could threaten even you. You almost seemed untouchable, like nothing could phase you. No modern army could hold a candle to your strength. If a Saiyan like you can be endangered by the Red Ribbon Army, what does this mean for the rest of the world?" Cerea asked.
"I've heard you throw that word around. What's Saiyan?" Said Kii.
"Oh right, you're the only one I didn't tell." Said Goten.
"Can I explain it to her?" Said Papi.
"Sure, go off." Said Goten.
"So, the Saiyans were like these space warriors who took over planets and sold them for money. They were enslaved by someone who didn't like how strong they were so he blew up their planet. Goten's dad was sent to Earth as a baby and ended up marrying a human girl." Said Papi.
"That about sums it up." Said Goten.
"So, you're an extra species like us? I like you even more now." Said Kii.
"You taught a human how to use Ki in this world, did you not? Please don't tell me you're giving random people the power to destroy the world." Said Centorea.
"Learning ki control is not a shortcut to obtaining unimaginable power, it's an opening to surpass your natural limits. For a human to get that strong, they'd have to go through otherworldly training which isn't available in Japan as far as I know."
"That is disappointing to hear but I am grateful for what you have taught me. If a human could get that strong, one can only imagine how strong a Centaur could become if they received the same training."
"Hey, did you forget about me already? I'm your otherworldly training. I am your sensei, aren't I?"
"Are you sure you'd want me as your student? Don't get me wrong, I am very confident in my strength. I belong to house Shianus after all. I want you to be honest, would a Centaur like me ever stand a chance against an android, or anyone in the Red Ribbon Army for that matter."
Goten shrugged. "Who knows? I'm not the guy who decides what your limits are. I don't know how much potential you have but based on what you showed me, I have a lot to look forward to. I didn't think I'd take on students at my age either but I'm not complaining." Said Goten.
"Ever since that incident, you've changed. When I first saw Saiyaman X2, I wrote him off as a child trying to fix something he couldn't begin to understand. But as you are now, it's as if your mind changed from a child to that of a wise king well beyond your years and you're more serious about... well everything."
"That's because I came to terms with reality. I learned to love this world I found myself trapped in but I can't be its sole protector. I don't mean to put pressure on you or Suu but I know you'll at least defend your master, your home, and maybe you'll teach the next generation what I have taught you. The fact of the matter is, I'm not going to be around forever. I'm either going to die in this world or go back to mine. A hero has to be strong but the world he protects has to be even stronger." Said Goten.
"This is exactly what I was referring to. It's rare for someone so young to think so far ahead. Who taught you such words of wisdom?"
"Death. When you're dying, you think of a lot. What you did wrong, what you could have done differently, but the hardest part of dying is the thought of everything you're leaving behind. In that moment, if I died, what would I have left behind? A world that couldn't defend itself. Suu was around but she was still green. I've died twice yet I'm alive to this day because the light that guides my soul was brighter than the light that destroyed my body. That same light is telling me to ensure this world is safe even if I'm not around to protect it."
"Are you sure you didn't age a few years?"
"No, I'm still 16. Why does everyone think I'm an old man now? I mean c'mon, I'm the same goofball you know and love, I've just got a bigger sense of duty now. I'm helping Kimihito with housework, planning future out, and making sure this world can survive without my help. Not to mention school."
"In that case, Goten, will you give me the honor of having one more spar with you?"
"I dunno, you seem pretty roughed up."
"And I would like you to transform into a Super Saiyan."
"Okay, you've definitely gone crazy." Said Goten.
"Goten's going Super Saiyan again? Can Suu would like to play with you again too." Said the slime.
"I thought you went off to play with Kii and Papi." Said Goten.
"We were but if you're going to go Super Saiyan, we wanna see. Pleeeaase? Do it for Kii!" Said Papi.
Goten sighed. He walked away slightly turning his back to the group. "Super Saiyan is a rage-based transformation. My current goal is to learn how to control my anger but Super Saiyan gets in the way of that so I prefer to train in my base form. I usually just use Super Saiyan for cool finishers or against an opponent I need it against. But you know what?" Goten turned his head back to Centorea. "Blonde hair is a nice hair color, wouldn't you agree?"

"HYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!" A Golden flame engulfed Goten, his hair became blonde, his eyes, green. "You've convinced me. You and Suu were both pretty formidable against my base form, but let's see how you deal with Super Saiyan Style." Said Goten.
"Thank you for everything Goten. For training me, for showing me what I might be up against, and for showing me I wasn't even close to my limit. For that, I will reward you with giving it my all once more!" Said Centorea as Suu stood by her side.
"That's the greatest prize I could ask for. Now… come at me!" Said Goten as he turned around completely.
"Engarde!" Centorea ran at Goten and thrusted her sword forward. Goten simply blocked it with a finger. Centorea attacked with a series of swings but Goten blocked them all with his index finger. Suu tried to punch him from behind but he easily dodged it and swung the back of his fist at her. Goten did not use the technique to prevent his arm from being trapped in the slime girl, so his arm was stuck… or was it?
With Suu stuck on his hand, Goten was still able to dodge Centorea's sword swing by doing a flip over her and throwing Suu at her in midair. The impact of Suu hitting her knocked her down. When Goten touched the ground, it was revealed that the only part of his body shrouded in the yellow flaming aura was the arm he allowed Suu to trap in her body.
"Just so you know, I'm fighting at the exact same strength as I did in that game. I'm using more power against Suu since she absorbed Cell but as a Super Saiyan, I can raise and lower my ki at an even faster rate. This form is more than just a strength multiplier, it increases all my senses as well so don't expect the same strategy to work again."
Suu shot out a water ki projectile at Goten, hoping to catch him off guard but with a single flick, it dissipated.
"Nice try." Said Goten.
Centorea went for a vertical slash, but Goten caught the sword in his hands before pushing it and by extension, Centorea away. "I must say, this power it's… it's overwhelming. You're not anywhere near your full strength and yet, I'm still no match for you. Thank you for this. Now I know how far I am from reaching my full potential. I may never come close to you in strength but that doesn't matter. My limits are for me and me alone to decide."
Goten grinned. "Well said. Spoken like a true warrior."
Suu appeared from behind Goten and restrained him with her slimy tentacles.
"Suu has him. It's your chance Centorea!" Said the slime girl.
"It pains me to attack a foe who cannot defend himself. Do you yield?"
"Heck no! Who said this is over? I can still fight!"
"Very well. Have it your way." Said Centorea.
Centorea channeled her energy into her blade to bring out her power and began swinging at him. The Saiyan teen countered her sword slashes with his kicks.
"Hey Cerea, do you know of any advice for controlling anger?" Goten asked mid-clash.
"Why? You've always seemed level headed. At least in most situations." Said Centorea.
"You misunderstand. I'm not trying to suppress my anger; I'm trying to learn how to bring it all out."
"It's a good thing to be reserved. It allows you to keep a clear head." Said Centorea as she clashed her sword against his legs.
"Under normal circumstances, yeah. But tell me how you'd feel if someone attacked you and your master out of nowhere." Said Goten.
"I'd accept their challenge head on and would honorably bring them to justice. I wouldn't be pleased with the sudden assault, but I can forgive an attack on myself. But if they attack my master, I will show no mercy." Said Centorea as the clash between her sword and Goten's kicks continued.
"I figured you'd be kind of similar to me. I may look and act human to an extent, but I'm not totally human. The way I react to things is different from how an average person would. If some rando tries to kill me, I'll be frustrated at worst and excited at best. The harder the fight is, the more excited I get. I don't get angry at things that should anger me. This wouldn't be much of a problem if anger wasn't the source of my strength." Said Goten.
His final kick pushed her back far until she hit a tree. He flared up his yellow energy, and sent Suu flying away from him.
Centorea and Suu charged at Goten and he blocked them both as they rapidly attacked him. "If you wish to let out your anger, I'm afraid I cannot help with that. I know a few breathing techniques that could help with keeping your cool, but forcing your rage is not ideal." Said Cerea.
"But what if an enemy notices this weakness and I need my full strength to beat them?" Said Goten.
"Then you'll have to find another way. From your live interview, it's clear you understand there's more to a fight than just power but you still have a lot to learn. I'll give you some advice my mother gave me when I was young. If the foe is stronger, fight smarter. If they're too swift, you must learn to predict. If they're too resistant, remain persistent. Look for weaknesses and find a way to chip at their defenses." Said Centorea.
"You don't gotta tell me strength isn't everything, but it could still be a major game changer. If I can utilize my anger, then I can consistently use my full power. When I get super mad, my power skyrockets. It's for a short amount of time but sometimes a few seconds can change the course of an entire battle. Getting angry doesn't mean I'll brute force my way through everything. It just means I'll be more willing to do things I wouldn't do if I were calm which is what I need. That's why I want to fully tap into my Saiyan nature." Said Goten. He surrounded his and with Ki, grabbed Suu by the tendril, swung her around, and threw her to the ground, causing her to liquefy into a puddle, reform, and jump back.
"Saiyan nature?" Said Suu.
Centorea stood in place with her sword out. "By Saiyan nature, do you mean becoming a ruthless warrior?" Centorea recalled what he said after he rose from near death. "Goten, your compassion isn't a weakness, it's a strength. It takes a strong person to forgive and show mercy to those who have wronged them. Believe me, it isn't worthy to sacrifice your values for strength. You would benefit more from maintaining a clear mind and observing your surroundings. If the foe is too powerful, a tactical retreat is not the same as surrender."
"No, it's not that," Goten reassured her. "I'm not looking to hurt anyone, not even bad guys, but I also can't blindly show mercy to anyone. I neutralize threats to the public, it's not my place to decide their fates. But if I'm up against a powerful enemy who can't be contained in a cell and has committed unforgivable acts, I have a responsibility to make sure they aren't a risk to people anymore. I'm all for giving second chances when it's due and I'll still give my enemies a chance to turn away from evil. But if they choose to continue down the path of evil and only ask for forgiveness when they're about to lose, I will end them."
"The crimes of the Red Ribbon Army and their androids cannot go unpunished. If they cannot be incarcerated, then perhaps that would be the simplest way to deal with them. I will warn you, if you do indeed go down this path, you might not like who you become. Could you really accept that?" Said Centorea.
"It should be fine as long as I only do this against monsters like Cell. The problem is some people can be really convincing about changing their ways and I might not have the heart to finish them off, even if they're most likely lying. If I did, I'd be going against the moral values I was taught since I was a child."
"You carry a heavy burden. As a Saiyan, you enjoy battle yet your lust for combat does not outweigh your compassion. As such, you wish to tap into your Saiyan nature to prevent your foes from taking advantage of said compassion." Centorea and Suu began attacking Goten once more, Suu with her fists, and Centorea with her sword. Due to his increased perception, blocking their attacks was easy for the Super Saiyan.
"Exactly. If it were up to me, I'd offer them second chances even if they did unforgivable things in the past. But I can't wish away the effects of their crimes nor can I afford to put more people at risk. Every choice I make from this point forward will have serious consequences." Said Goten.
"Goten, your parents taught you good lessons and even after all that's happened to you, it's clear that you still value life. But you're almost an adult so you need to decide what you believe is right." Said Centorea.
"I guess you're right… but these morals are really all I have left of my parents. If I don't live by these morals anymore, what do I have left of them?"
"You don't have to give up your moral code, but if you must, you can make slight changes. That way you can still keep the memory of your family while possessing your own moral code unique to you. all I ask is that you don't lose sight of who you are. Remember what your family stood for and continue fighting for what you believe in. In that way you will always be connected."
Centorea and Suu stopped their assault as Goten went quiet.
"…Thank you for telling me that. You're making it easier for me to stop living in the past. Well, get ready for your next lesson. You've both got the basics down. It's time for your next lesson." Said Goten.
The now blonde Saiyan teenager disappeared into thin air and before everyone knew it, Suu and Centorea were surrounded by 30 Super Saiyan Gotens. "I've fought a 4v1 and now I'm fighting in a 2v1. How about I give you a taste of your own medicine with a 30v1."
"Remember Centorea, these aren't real. He's just moving really fast." Said Suu.
"I'm not going to make this easy for you this time. Now which one do you think is the real me?" Said Goten.
Suu and Centorea began attacking the afterimages of Goten. Suu fired many beams but this time, she was unable to keep up with Goten's speed so she made afterimages of herself. Unfortunately, Goten was able to pinpoint the location of Suu. Goten attacked them every now and then as they struggled to find his location.
"Try to search for my energy. Remember that pull you feel in your body when you control your ki? Well close your eyes and try to listen for mine." Said Goten.
They both struggled with this. However, Centorea was able to find the real Goten and struck him with all her might. Unfortunately, he blocked it with one finger, breaking it. Goten disappeared and then reappeared with his own wooden sword and with a light tap right below her breasts, Centorea was down.
Suu spun around in circles, spitting out water at high speeds, hoping to get Goten wet. However as Goten approached behind her, she was able to sense him, and she responded by wrapping her tentacles around his shoulders.
"Suu understands now."
"That's great. Now it's time to end this!" Goten tossed Suu into the air, causing her to fire a pressurized water blast at him.
"Cyclone Style: Water Spout Hurricane!" Goten shouted as he punched a tornado at Suu. A tornado flew at Suu and mixed up with the water she spat out. It was enough to make her dizzy and tire her out.
"Goten wins." Said Kii.
The Saiyan looked down at his two students and smiled. 'They have a lot to learn, but they show promise, that's for sure. I understand how you felt all those years ago now that I'm in your position.' Goten felt pride in his students and grinned but the Saiyan ultimately clenched his fist. 'Now it's my turn to prepare the world for a future without me.' The Saiyan thought.
"Amazing, so that was the terrifying power of a Super Saiyan. And to think, even in your normal state, you weren't trying."
"Ya know, Super Saiyan isn't the only Saiyan legend. Let me tell you a story. Long ago, 5 Saiyans with righteous hearts joined hands and instilled their inner light into another. With the energy of his friends, that Saiyan became a Super Saiyan God."
"The power of a Super Saiyan already appears divine as is. And now there's a Super Saiyan God? I'm aware that the legend of the Super Saiyan is true but how can you be so sure this legend is true?" Said Centorea.
"How do I know it's real? Well, that's easy considering I was involved in the ritual before. We all transformed into Super Saiyans and gave our energy to my dad. His hair became red and he looked skinnier and younger too. The most distinct feature was his divine energy which couldn't be sensed by mortals like us. With his new Godly power, he was able to fight toe to toe against the God of Destruction of our universe, Lord Beerus."
"God of Destruction? That's an intimidating title if I've heard one." Said Centorea.
"You don't know the half of it. They were so strong, they almost destroyed the entire universe, but that's a story for another day." Goten's face became serious. "Call me paranoid, but I think I may be being hunted again and frankly, I'm getting real sick of it. The world I left behind had a parasitic threat that as far as I know, still hasn't been dealt with. He went after me because he wanted to hijack a Saiyan body to eradicate other Saiyans. When I fought him, he was stronger than myself and Trunks but weaker than any other Saiyan who could transform. I have no doubt he could catch a stronger Saiyan off guard though. Cell may have been a deceptive freak, but if he was lying, his acting got him killed. If Gohan wasn't here at all, then there wouldn't be any reason for him NOT to suck me up like he did to the others. You can't take a liar at their word but you may find truth in their actions. Cell didn't fight like a martial artist trying to prove he was the best, a tyrant planning world domination, nor was he trying to blow up the planet. He was a cunning predator who would stop at nothing to claim his quarry. He'd been stalking my energy to measure just how many people he had to devour before he could come and make a meal out of me. When I confronted him, he was in the process of absorbing more people so he could ensure I had absolutely no way of defending myself."
"Understanding the psychology of your enemies may be the key to winning this silent war. Demoralizing the enemy has been a war strategy since the beginning of time. Considering who created Cell, I wouldn't put it past Cell to lie to damage your psyche. He made it clear he had no qualms against breaking his victims both physically and mentally. It was horrible to watch but like you, I doubt he would act on a lie if it put himself at risk. From that I can draw a conclusion that Cell was indeed trying to prepare for a stronger foe. But that's all we know for certain. I believe he omitted details. Did he ever explain in detail what happened to Trunks?"
"No he didn't, he was purposefully vague about it. He said my brother was responsible for his death but that doesn't mean he directly killed him. That could mean many things. There's far too many uncertainties. This monster blamed me for the deaths of civilians because I didn't act against him from the start. It could just as easily be something similar for Gohan. Trunks' death could easily be a lie, a fake out, or maybe Cell was just dead wrong. All I know is there's a good chance my brother is here and I will do anything to find him."
"Yes, there seems to be a strong possibility of that."
"Cell also mentioned killing him would be a mercy. What could have happened for him to say that? Was my brother's body was hijacked by the same person who tried to destroy my race? I already know for a fact that I'm not the only one from my universe stuck in this world. What if Boruchi used his body to kill Trunks? What about Bulla? What about Pan?!" Goten panicked at the thought of Boruchi reaching his niece."
"Are you alright Goten?" Centorea asked.
"I-I'm fine, it's just being cut off from the other gets to me, ya know? I may not be around but I'm sure my dad can stop him. I accepted my role in this world but I can't help but worry about my family and friends back home and it's hard not to think the worse after all I've heard. Anyway back to what I was saying before. My brother goes into his Ultimate Mode, it unleashes all his potential. When he first showed up in that state, he was the strongest person on Earth and I think his exposure to the Super Saiyan God ritual improved his potential even more. His Beast mode is even stronger than that. My brother is strong, he can't be controlled so easily but if Boruchi finds a way to access to that power, then it could spell the end of everyone I love."
"You were also exposed to the ritual and you're a Half-Saiyan, just like your brother. Surely you could also unlock your own Ultimate Mode. Honestly, after what I bore witness to, it's hard to believe Super Saiyan isn't the pinnacle of a Saiyan power."
"Well sure, but as far as I know, there's no one here who can unlock my potential so I need to work hard to get that strong. I'm not going to let a bunch of villains with delusions of grandeur drive the Saiyan race to extinction. I'm going to become a Super Saiyan God and create my own path."
"But that form requires 5 righteous Saiyans to pour their light into you. As far as we know, you're the only Saiyan here. Unless you have children for that express purpose, it's unlikely you will ever achieve that form." Said Centorea.
"That's where you're wrong. Vegeta managed to become a God all on his own. I don't know how he did it but I'm going to find out. I pity Boruchi, but I'm not going sit back and let him wipe out my race. And if he really did that to Trunks, I will slaughter him. Boruchi better be ready, because he's going to face divine justice at the hands of the next Super Saiyan God!"
Goten and Cerea were in Kimihito's backyard. They were sparring with wooden swords. Goten used the broken one but used his ki to get the same length. Before they went home, Goten bought Centorea another wooden sword due to her last one breaking.
"Your stance is off and so is the way you're holding the sword. Remember, when you swing a sword, you mustn't neglect a single part of your body. Put your weight into it Son Goten!"
Goten jumped at Centorea and swung the wooden sword. "RAAGH!"
Centorea was able to counter and disarm him. "In hand to hand combat, I confess that you are my superior but you still have a lot to learn regarding swordplay. You used the same amount of energy as me in that strike, I am grateful for that. But your sword doesn't have the same advantages as your body. With that said, you've done well for a beginner. Your movements with the sword aren't bad. If you can master your form, you will become an outstanding swordsman."
"That's good. At least I'm making progress. Centorea, I gotta go. I got a date with Melody in a few. It's not proper to keep a lady waiting."
"That is true. However, perhaps you should ask Mero for some advice."
Goten went back inside the house. "Hey Mero, I need some help getting prepared for my date with Melody. I would really appreciate it if you helped me prepare!"
The mermaid placed hands together and tilted her head with a delighted smile. "I would be glad to be of assistance, Goten."
Goten went to the mall where he was greeted by Melody at the mall.
"Greetings Goten, I'm so happy to see you."
"Yeah, me too. Um, where's your host family?"
"Oh, to make up for what happened to me, I was given a short-term pass. It allows me to leave on my lonesome for a short period of time."
"At least that's a start…" Goten looked at Melody's dress. "Wow, you're certainly looking beautiful today."
"My, you're such a gentleman. This dress was fashioned by my servants long ago and is a very important dress to me. You look quite stunning yourself and your suit looks rather familiar as well."
"Yeah, Mero picked it out for me. You know her, always into gothic Lolita fashion but since I'm a guy, I don't wear dresses. Because of that, I'm wearing this outfit." Goten slightly adjusted his collar.
"I must say, this dark look suits you quite well. Despite the gloomy look of the outfit itself, the person wearing it changes the mood completely."
"Really? You think so?"
"I do. You have such a bright personality that it's hard to imagine you as the brooding type. Oh, speaking of Mero, how is she doing? I know our last meeting wasn't exactly very pleasant."
"She's doing just fine. I think we're all a bit shaky after you know… but we all seem to be doing a lot better. Even with all that's happened, she's still the kind and generous Mermaid you know and love."
"I'm glad she seems to be doing well, especially after her close encounter with death. We sometimes text and she told me that the monster consumed plenty of humans and was going to do the same to her. She was quite fortunate you came when you did."
"That was the toughest individual fight of my life, that's for sure. It's a miracle that I survived."
"Yes, I spoke to Mero over the phone. I thought. It was over the phone so I couldn't see her but It didn't seem like there was fetishization going on. She seemed genuinely broken by everything that transpired that day."
"Jeez, now I feel bad. I'm glad she learned her lesson but I hate how she had to learn it."
"Do you know who the hooded person who kidnapped you could be? I don't believe it's a coincidence that your injuries suddenly healed."
"He wasn't around when I woke up, but this Mr. President guy was. Apparently, the guy who kidnapped me is with the Red Ribbon Army, but if that's the case, what would be his motivation for saving me? How could he have saved me, was he magic?"
"He knocked me out so I didn't hear anything but he told Draconis he was there to end your suffering and when we woke up, your body was gone.
"That could have two very different meanings."
"Maybe he's infiltrated their ranks to destroy them from the inside."
"If that's the case, he has my full support but I'm not close with anyone who has red eyes and a mechanical arm. Maybe they heard of my exploits and found out my secret identity. What I accomplished wasn't much, but I did reveal I had powers that could match an android. If Hedo's working with the Red Ribbon army again, it would make sense. Reaper or as you know him, Beytah tried to convince me to work with them." Said Goten.
"This is quite the mystery, isn't it? Such circumstances would make for an excellent mystery novel, wouldn't you say?"
"Yeah, probably. So, what do you want to do? Should we look at clothes?"
"I would be glad to." Said Melody.
Goten pushed Melody's wheelchair to a clothing store but there was one problem.
"There are so many good looking clothes but they won't fit a siren like me. It's too bad really, I'm restricted to dresses and skirts." Said Melody.
"You have two tails, can't you fit them into pants legs?"
"Do I even have to explain why that wouldn't work? My tails aren't a substitute for legs and It'd look like all the food I ate at my new home all went to my non existent thighs. I'd look ridiculous!"
Goten thought of Melody walking around with pants. In his mind, the Siren was walking around with seemingly bloated legs although in reality, they was just her tails. Goten's cheeks puffed up and he began snickering.
"Why are you laughing? What's so funny?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't realize how cursed that would look. It's hard to explain but the mental image of a Siren walking on her two tails as legs while wearing pants to cover them is really funny." Said Goten as he continued to laugh.
"I'm happy to know the thought of me with fat legs is amusing to you. I've been trying to watch what I eat, but I haven't eaten so well in so long." Melody pouted. "Do my tails look fat to you?"
"No. I mean, I'm not an expert on Siren or mermaid biology so I wouldn't know what's considered a fat tail. Is that considered unattractive in your culture?"
"Well yes." Melody began whispering. "A princess needs to keep up appearances. I'm supposed to be beautiful but look at me. When you first met me, I had dark circles around my eyes, my hair was unkempt, and I was severely underweight. My previous host family did feed me but well… Hisato didn't like it when women ate a lot because he wanted to keep me and his maids weak and submissive. When I did eat well, I often vomited my food out of disgust at what he did to me and his maids."
"Every time I hear about him, I regret letting him off with just a punch. And his parents just sat by and did nothing? Did they even know he did this?!"
"His parents didn't know or rather they didn't want to know. They ignored obvious evidence in favor of their delusion that their sweet little angel could do no wrong. He violently dragged a maid into his room, and assaulted her. She came out of his room screaming and crying. When his parents confronted him about it, he told them she forced herself on him and she had to live with that label. The was seen as a disgrace to her family and her reputation was destroyed. If any maid spoke up about it, they'd be the next example. When she unfortunately ended her life, she was still demonized. I was afraid for my life after witnessing this so I acted kind and submissive. Hurting men who I believed to all be like Hisato was my coping mechanism."
Goten growled in anger before calming down. "You know, I'm starting to be glad he was taken away to be experimented. Because if they didn't do that, no doctor would be able to fix what I'd do to him. His parents should be ashamed of themselves and so should the people who blindly believed that pile of human garbage. I won't celebrate parents losing a child but they still deserve legal repercussions. Have you considered filing a lawsuit against them?"
"Yes, I have and there will be repercussions but no matter what happens, it can't make up for the harm he has done. However, they're both mentally unwell. As it would turn out, they were so deluded they truly believed their son was this sweet little angel that could do no wrong despite the clear evidence. The knowledge that their boy was not so innocent broke them, so they're unfit to stand trial. As I mentioned before, they were kind to me but that's not enough to make up for their negligence."
"I'm sorry, it's probably going to sound like I'm trying to protect him but if I see Hisato again, I'll save him. I know he's being experimented on and to be honest, a part of me thinks he deserves it. But if he's still alive, I'll bring him back to his family, if not for them, for Reaper. I stand by what I said, no parent deserves to lose their child but if that's their style of parenting, it's no wonder he ended up like that. This might be hard to hear but if he comes back to Japan, his money won't mean a thing, he'll be an outcast, and I promise you that regardless of if the law does anything to him or not, I will see to it that he faces justice."
"I hope he's going through the maximum amount of pain right now."
"To answer your earlier question, I don't know if your tails are considered fat, but that doesn't really matter to me. Your tails are as beautiful as the Siren they belong to. So, what if you can't wear certain clothes? You look pretty good in a school uniform so imagine how good you'd look in a dress."
Melody put her face between her face and blushed. "Goten, you're such a charmer. Back home I've had many people say the same yet when it's you saying it, my heart skips a beat."
"So, what do you think of this dress?" Goten pointed at royal blue dress.
"It looks delightful!"
After Melody left the dressing room, she came out sparkling. She looked happier than Goten had ever seen her.
"So how do I look." Said Melody, now wearing the dress.
"It looks good on you. The blue color really matches the color of your eyes." Said Goten.
"Why thank you. You're such a gentleman. I'm surprised more ladies don't flock to you. You're incredibly handsome and you're a sweetheart as well."
"I had some female fans back because of the whole superhero gimmick. I may have taken some pictures with them as my alter ego but outside of that, I wasn't that popular. I helped others with love but never tried entering a relationship myself. I did take a girl to the dance, but that was because she was in love with my best friend."
"Oh my… were you in love with this girl?" Melody asked.
"No, at least I don't think I was. She went with me to the dance to spy on Trunks because he was with Mai, the girl he had a crush on."
"How dare she use you like that? She could have been with a perfectly good man and yet she ignored you. She has no idea what she's missing."
"I'm not mad at her, I had fun at the dance. Besides, I agreed to help her out. It's not like she played with my emotions so she could get closer to Trunks. She wasn't my girlfriend and I wasn't her boyfriend."
"In that case… can I be your first girlfriend?"
"I'd rather start as friends but maybe sometime in the future? I'm enjoying our date so far and I really do like you. My feelings are complicated though."
"I understand. You need time to crawl out of your shell."
"Hey, I'm not a sea turtle!"
"Oh, you know what I meant."
"Yeah, I know. I was just pulling your… tail?"
"I wish you would~."
"Okay, I walked right into that one."
The pair sat down at a Chinese restaurant at the mall.
"I wasn't expecting you to pick this place. I thought you'd pick something more at home." Said Goten.
"But that's so boring. I prefer exotic foods over seafood. I also prefer exotic men~."
"So, you like humans over mermen?"
"Not specifically, no. When I first came here, Japanese food was new to me since we don't grow the same crops or consume land animals in the ocean. When I began living in Japan, Japanese food wasn't a rarity but the beauty of the human world is the food isn't just restricted to what's native to the surface or the country and if that wasn't enough, you can combine the different foods as well. Take this Gong Bao Chicken dish and this Tofu for example. We don't have chickens in the ocean and we're incapable of making Tofu there either."
"That makes sense. You're fascinated by things that were unknown to you. That's why you enjoy watching things burn, because in the ocean, you don't see that a lot."
"Exactly. My mother would have my head for saying this, but I prefer food from the surface over seafood."
"I like all kinds of food and I'm glad I have the chance to try new foods, although this food is pretty familiar. Never heard it be referred to as Chinese though. What even is that? Is it a spice or something? Maybe it's a style of cooking native to this world?"
"China is the most populated country on Earth, at least for humans. There could be unknown species but humans are acknowledged as the most populated species in the world. It's rather amusing you don't know this."
"Don't make fun of me." Goten pouted.
"How amusing. I'm the Siren but the only fish out of water is you." Melody giggled. "But you know what? The fact you don't know goes to show just how exotic you are and I must say, I much prefer that over the average Japanese man."
"Huh? Really? I've always considered myself average in my social life. I mean I'm definitely not normal considering what I am but I wasn't the type to draw too much attention to myself and I acted just like any other guy back in my school."
"You don't have any qualms about showing off at school now."
"There's just no reason to hide my powers. We've got people who can manifest fireballs and can casually punch through walls at our school. Hiding my strength was a pain anyway, imagine having to swim slowly so people don't think anything of the fact that you swim faster than any human professional."
"That's different. I'm obviously not a human."
"It was just an example. I was already registered as a liminal because of my unique circumstances but for the most part, human laws still applied to me. I couldn't have relationships with liminals but I was allowed to go places by myself. It seems like I was a liminal in name only but that changed when I revealed I was a Saiyan."
"Are you happy with the outcome of that decision?"
"I am. Why should I have to hide myself when no one else has to? The government knows who I am so I was granted citizenship in Japan. Now if I'm provoked, I can defend myself or other people whether or not the offender is a human or liminal. This is because it wouldn't be fair if say I found a frightened lost human and they attacked me out of fear and got treated like a criminal for it. If it's within reason, I can harm both humans and liminals and they can do the same to me. I can also get married to any race because I'm well, the only Saiyan as far as the world knows and restricting my options puts my race at risk."
"That certainly wouldn't be a good look for Japan if they caused the extinction of a race."
"They're also taking extra measures to make sure no one takes advantage of me for that reason. The thing is I'm kind of hard to track when I'm out in about since I you know, fly really fast."
"Hey Goten, What do you say to a watching a film with me? I shall allow you to pick what you want to watch since you let me pick everything else."
"Well, I don't really know what's good. I'm fine with watching whatever you wanna watch."
Melody became flustered. "Well, I don't know either! I was never expecting to go on a romantic date when I came to Japan, I just wanted a manservant!"
Goten took out his phone to look up movie reviews for recent movies. "Well, there's this action movie about spies or something. It's a kids movie but it has good reviews."
"I suppose it's worth a try. As long as it's with you."
Both Melody and Goten walked out a movie theatre called Cinema Shining after watching the movie.
"That movie was so awesome! I gotta say though, some of those lines were too cheesy and the poses were terrible."
Melody giggled. "What did you expect? It's a kids movie. Besides, they kind of remind me of your poses. I've seen you practice them when you think no one's looking."
"Hey, you were watching?! That was supposed to be top secret! And my poses are way better!"
"I mean they aren't bad poses but you have to admit they're quite goofy."
"Goofy? You mean cool right?"
"Be that as it may, I enjoyed the romantic element of the story and even the poses were silly, they managed to get a giggle out of me. The romance between the protagonist and his lover was inspiring. They worked for two enemy spy organizations but it wasn't as simple as choosing love over their jobs, both of them believed the other organization was seeking world domination."
"All's well that ends well. In the end, both organizations were questionable so they ended up starting their own together. I wonder how that will work out in the sequel if they make one."
"You seem rather invested in this movie."
"Well it may be a kids movie, but it had a good story. Nothing too deep, but the characters were cool, especially the right hand man of the villain. He was hilarious and I thought he would just be comic relief, but there was so much more to him than just a 2-dimensional goon. The movie would have you believe he wasn't very smart but all of his actions were calculated and led to a very interesting plot twist you never could have guessed."
"So, what did you want to talk about?"
"What do you mean?"
"When you came to the library, you said we had something important to discuss."
"Oh right. I had so much fun I almost forgot. Let's go somewhere private, okay?"
Goten and Melody would go to a nearby café. They both decided to bring their homework just in case the opportunity arose. Goten and Melody sat down and Goten spoke first.
"Alright, I know this is selfish of me to ask but… is there a way I can get into your kingdom?"
Melody spat out the tea she was drinking. "Of course not! Do you realize how much danger that would put me in? If I came back to the kingdom, I would have no choice but to marry that pompous prince who only cares for eugenics and he'll oppress my people! He's so arrogant, he wants to start a war with the humans! It wouldn't work, but it would still have a negative impact on the future of my kingdom."
"Oh, I didn't mean immediately. If you told me their location, I could make up a reason for how I got there. I wouldn't tell them about you. If they're really connected to the Red Ribbon Army, that might be the first place to search for answers. I think something bad happened in my world and it sounds like your kingdom might have the answers I'm looking for."
"Goten, I want to help you, I truly do. I would never say no to you but this is the one exception. If you go, they have ways of tracing your previous locations and they can use them to track me down. Please try to understand that."
"It wouldn't be fair of me to have you put yourself at risk, I'm sorry I asked. Even if I did go, it's not like I can breathe underwater anyway. I just figured since there were people from the Red Ribbon Army there, there had to be a reason they weren't drowning to death."
"I'm glad you understand. If you did come to our kingdom, we have air bubbles and rooms that land dwellers can stay in but they can't be used unless authorized by the King or Queen. Even if you did go, I can't trust neither of my parents to be fair to you. I'm glad you understand my predicament and for what it's worth, I hope you find those answers you're looking for."
"That's okay. I'll just find answers my own way. I appreciate you being upfront with me though I guess I made things kind of awkward now didn't I? I'll fly you home to make up for it."
"Goten, it's okay. You can push me back to my host family. The more time I get to spend with you, the better."
As they left the café, Goten saw two people he knew.
"Is that you Kimihito? And Zombina? Wow, talk about a ladies' man." Said Goten."
"Goten? I didn't expect to see you here." Said Kimihito.
"And you're one to talk about being a ladies man. I see how gently you're pushing your girlfriend's wheelchair and don't think I forgot what you did with Manako and Tio." Said Zombina.
"What are you talking about? I did nothing with either of them, and Melody is just a friend."
"Don't worry, I'll make what you said a reality in no time." Said Melody to Zombina.
"Hehehe, looks like you're on a streak. First, you carried Tio like a bride and you saved Manako from your crazy ass friend a while ago like a knight in shining armor. Um, no offense. You didn't just do all this, you did it in style. I bet you're real popular with the ladies at school." Said Zombina.
"You're embarrassing me Zombina... I wouldn't be much of a hero if I just let Tio fall and saving Manako was just the right thing to do."
"Hahahaha, that's for sure. If you didn't catch her, the impact would've cause more damage to the building than the fight you had with Beta 1."
"That's rude." Said Goten. unamused. "Anyway, how's reconstruction going for that doujin shop going anyway?"
"It's going to take some time but they're making progress. He damaged a lot more than just the doujin store." Said Zombina.
"Wow, what a coincidence that you came here too. Did you come to or from the movies?" Said Kimihito.
"We actually just got out. We saw a spy movie since neither of us knew what to watch."
"You should have seen Zombie Utopia. It would have been perfect for your date!" Said Zombina
"No thank you! I'd be too frightened. Although it would give me the perfect excuse to bury my face into Goten's rock-hard chest. Mmmm, that doesn't sound like a half bad idea. Goten we're going to see a horror movie next time." Said the Siren.
"I dunno, where I'm from, Zombie movies tend to be pretty low budget. I don't know why Trunks was so afraid of them. Oh well, as long as they have good effects, I won't fall asleep." At this point, Goten was used to Melody's antics.
"Well, if you fall asleep, I'll certainly have a better show to watch~." Said Melody.
"Yeah, I'm sure I'd look real amusing slumped over on my seat."
"You there!" Goten was approached by a non-human, a fishfolk. "Are you her host family? That girl is a princess, your worthless land dweller! She is to be wed soon to produce a powerful heir to the throne and our kingdoms will become one!" Said a fishfolk. He literally had a fish head that was facing upward and a humanoid body.
...
After an awkward silence, Goten looked at Melody and pointed at the man with a fish head. "Hey Melody, who's the talking sardine?" Said Goten as he pointed to him while looking at the Siren.
Everyone's mouth was agape at Goten's tactless comment. Zombina just started cracking up. "You did NOT just say that!" She spoke.
"How dare you call me a sardine! I am one of the Queen's loyal servants and you will show respect to me!"
"Goten, these people are my mother's knights. She must have sent them to come get me. I'm still not going back, not after the start of a new life of positivity."
"Greetings human, I am Sardini, and you will relinquish the princess at once."
"I am Algi, I apologize for their… Sardini's behavior but it would be easier for both of us if you gave the princess to us. Let's resolve this peacefully, shall we?" Said a fishfolk who like Sardini, had a literally fish head.
"I am Nemoné, not that you're worthy of hearing my name." Said the female fishfolk. Unlike the other two who had fish heads, her body was human-like with fish features.
Goten looked at Sardini. "Your name's Sardini? That couldn't be more on the nose."
"I have no clue what you're talking about! You won't confuse me with your human trickery!" Said Sardini.
Melody looked at her mother's retainers. "I am staying right here in Japan! Can't you all see mother is not who she says she is?! If I marry the prince, he will bring our kingdom to ruin!"
"You heard the lady, she's happy with her life here in Japan." Said Goten.
"Human, it has come to my attention what you had done. In our search for you, we found that you were assaulted by a human. Names were blurred due to both of you being considered minors, but you're the one who assaulted her aren't you?! You lecherous scoundrel! Consider your life is forfeit! Said Nemoné.
"How dare you make such a baseless accusations?! It's true a human did that to me, but Goten saved me from him! Unlike Prince Nereus, he's the perfect model of what a prince should be. He's gentle, kind, and selfless, everything Prince Nereus isn't!" Said Melody.
"Is that true? In that case, I apologize for my initial hostility. It would appear that you do have a smidgen of common decency despite being an inferior species. Still, this union between nations is more important than you can imagine." Said Sardini.
Algi looked at Melody. "Princess Melody Ligeia Du Poseidon, you simply must reconsider! The Queen's orders are absolute and your presence is required. Your marriage to prince Nereus will bring not just our kingdom, but all kingdoms to a new age." Said Algi.
"Perhaps he is a bit too eager to expand his territory, but that ambition is what makes him a good husband and leader. Humans have already done enough damage to our homes with their filth. Do not follow their example by bringing that scum along with you." Nemoné looked at Goten when she said that last sentence. She said the word scum with venom.
"Okay, not nice. I'll let that comment about me being a lecherous scoundrel slide because it was an honest mistake, but if Melody doesn't want to go back, you can't make her." Said Goten
"Whether or not you're the one responsible, it makes no difference. All you humans are the same. It's only a matter of time before you hurt her in the same way he has." Said Nemoné.
Goten glared at her.
"Aw what's the matter human, did I strike a nerve?" Nemoné smirked.
"My name isn't 'human'; it's Goten and I don't appreciate you making assumptions about my character. You can hate me and my race all you want, but don't ever lump me in with that degenerate."
"That's enough Nemoné! Do you realize the hell I went through just to get away from you people?! He'd force me onto his bed, he gagged my mouth so I couldn't scream and he'd do… things to me! I've never experienced anything so degrading! All My father, Hisato, and Prince Nereus have done is strip my freedom! I wasn't even a person in their eyes. But Goten respects my decisions. He wanted me to do something for him and when I said no, he listened to me and respected my choice!"
"He did what to you?! And you...!" Nemoné pointed at Goten. "You let this happen?!"
"No, I didn't know Melody back then. I know you think humans are these evil creatures who are dead set on destroying your home, but I sympathize with you and your princess. No matter what Melody did in the past, she didn't deserve what happened to her. I personally punched him in the eye but if I knew everything he did, I would have done worse." Goten admitted.
"I don't need your meaningless pity! You're a human and therefore untrustworthy! Just because you haven't done wrong by our princess yet doesn't mean you won't in the future. I bet you gave our princess a sob story to make her feel bad for you so she'd be with you." Nemoné
"He's done no such thing! He did ask me a favor but when he understood I could not help him, he left it at that. To accuse my savior of being the same as that… that… bastard… is to disrespect me as well! I finally found a man in my life who isn't trying to control me. By implying Goten is anything like the men who have tried to control me, you're undermining the growth I made as a person during my time in Japan. He has the power to do anything he desires to me and there's nothing I nor anyone else could do to stop him. But he doesn't do that because he values my freedom. Goten is far more noble than Nereus could ever hope to be! So, I suggest you hold your tongue! He is nothing like Hisato!" Said Melody.
"Alright time out. Let's try to resolve this peacefully, okay? Melody clearly doesn't want to go back and she has a good reason for it. She doesn't feel safe in her Kingdom and if you're acting like this, can you blame her? The fact is she really likes Goten and antagonizing him isn't doing you any favors. Let's settle this peacefully, okay?" Kimihito reasoned.
"I assure you she has nothing to fear. She is our future Queen so we will naturally treat her with the utmost care." Said Sardini.
Nemoné looked Kimihito dead in the eye with a dangerous glare. "If you speak out of turn again, I will destroy you." She said coldly. Kimihito felt a chill down his spine.
"Don't even try it, you won't last a millisecond." Said Goten.
"Please, like you could do anything to us. You aren't even armed, not that it would make a difference. Stay out of this human, this has nothing to do with you. We aren't taking no for an answer, she's coming with us even if its by force. She must give birth a proper heir to the throne." Said Nemoné.
"Nemoné, don't antagonize this human! He may be an unsightly lower life form who is better off going extinct, but it wouldn't do to cause any unnecessary problems. I understand you're enraged at the problems his kind creates but they'll all be gone in no time." Said Algi.
"Gee thanks fish lips, do you ever quit yapping? I've seen fish bigger than automobiles and somehow, you've still got a bigger mouth." Goten responded causing tick marks to form on Algi's head.
"Nemoné, this has everything to do with Goten because he's the prince I wish to marry! We happened to have just finished a wonderful date and you're killing the mood." Said Melody.
All the sea dwellers present were surprised to hear this.
"This is not a desirable turn of events. If this human is indeed a prince from an unknown nation who has taken Melody as his bride, this could have very awful political consequences. We should research him further." Said Sardini.
"A human prince? From what nation do you hail?" Algi asked.
"Yeah, your majesty, what are you the prince of anyway?" Zombina teased.
"She's making it sound more impressive than it is." Goten turned to Melody. "Hey, can you maybe not go around telling people I'm a prince? It makes things more complicated than they need to be."
"Now's the perfect time to mention, isn't it? They wouldn't risk starting a conflict with your kingdom and even if they would, they would be unable to reach it." Said Melody.
"You have a point, but not everyone needs to know that. I don't really care if people know, but I'd rather not have to constantly explain why it doesn't matter. I don't need anyone bowing to me when I'm just like any other guy."
"My associate asked you what nation you're from. You will answer." Said Sardini.
"A place that doesn't exist here not that it's any of your business." Said Goten.
"Well, I'm calling your bluff. I don't believe you're a prince." Said Nemoné
"I don't care if you believe me, but I am related to royalty; my grandpa's a king. That's all there is to it though. My mom left the kingdom to settle down with dad in the mountains and she's been humbly living with him since then. The throne has nothing to do with me. That doesn't matter though. I don't need a fancy status to defend someone I care about." Goten explained.
Melody blushed at his words.
"You have some arrogance for someone who abandoned their duty as the prince of their nation. It's no wonder it no longer exists. A prince who abandoned his people is not worthy of our princess's hand in marriage!" Said Algi.
"If you're trying to make me mad, it's not working. If you were listening, you'd know there was nothing for me to abandon. Can we talk about something else? This conversation is getting boring." Said Goten.
"Argh, the audacity! It's truly a pity though I understand. Humans are truly uncivilized creatures. How many wars have your kind fought over trivial matters? You humans have no regard for life, not even for other humans. It would be better if they didn't exist, wouldn't you agree?" Said Algi.
"Your words are meaningless. You go on and on about how humans are the scum of the Earth yet here you are working with humans who are actively contributing to spreading pain and fear! The school I attended hosted a funeral thanks to your new allies and in that funeral, humans were not just grieving over other humans, they grieved over liminals and were comforting each other as well, so don't you dare tell me humans don't have compassion. These people you're siding with aren't our friends, they're going to destroy everything we hold dear including our Kingdom! How can you not see that?!" Said Melody.
"If the Queen believes the benefits outweigh the damages, then we will accept her decision without question. Our sworn duty is to serve Her Highness. Regardless of moral ambiguity, the Queen is always right." Said Sardini.
"Are you guys really working with Red Pharmaceuticals?" Goten asked.
Algi turned to Melody. "Melody, you didn't! You told him about our truce with Red Pharmaceuticals?! Do you realize what you've done?! Don't tell me you told him their secret as well, the public is supposed to think of them as a mere pharmaceutical company! Should they find out their secret was revealed they'll see it as an act of betrayal and our nation will be destroyed!"
"I told him of their technological advancements, but that's hardly a secret. A quick web search would tell you the same. They are a pharmaceutical company but the CEO of the organization has many business links and they do more than produce medicine." Said Melody.
"Yes, their technological advancements are a marvel even if they were created by humans. One day that technology will belong to us and we'll use it to take back the world that belongs to us. Surely that's what the Queen has in mind." Said Sardini.
Goten facepalmed. "You have no idea how badly you're being played."
"And what do you know, human?" Said Nemoné.
"You guys are the ones who mentioned a secret. For all I knew, you could have just not known who they really were. No one had to say anything though, I knew everything from the beginning. It was only a matter of time before I found out they were really the Red Ribbon Army. The monster they created filled me in on everything." Said Goten.
"Be that as it may, our Kingdom needs an heir to the throne and the Queen is worried about her daughter. She will return with us. However, because of the knowledge you hold, you will be coming with us as well." Said Nemoné.
"You're playing with technology you don't understand! You may think you're two steps ahead, but you're a thousand steps behind." Said Melody.
"Everyone shut the hell up! I don't give a damn about any of this crap but there's something I can't ignore. How much information do you guys have on what happened on the surface." Said Zombina.
"We're kept up to speed by our informants. We know about the bug monster that lowered the population of land species. That beast did not come to our Kingdom though we are unaware if he paid a visit to other sea kingdoms." Said Sardini.
"Yall do know Red Pharmaceuticals is responsible for creating that monster, right? They created a monster that caused damage on a global scale and you really think you're in control? You're really a bunch of dumbasses, aren't you?" Said Zombina.
"Vulgarity aside, If anything, what happened is cause for celebration. Humans may call it genocide but I call it population control. If sea kingdoms suffered at the hands of this monster, that is indeed a tragedy but it's all taken care of. Red Pharmaceuticals may have power over us, but they have provided us with the means to take over. They're so smart yet they lack common sense." Said Algi.
"So you know what they did and you're still working with them. You're all even bigger dumbasses than I thought." Said Zombina.
"You will show respect to your superiors." Said Sardini.
"I show respect to my superiors alright, but you're not the one paying my bills." Zombina grinned.
"Do you hear yourselves?! I am the princess; I know how my subjects view those who live on the surface. But if you think other Kingdoms paying the price is acceptable if it means humans and other species on land suffer, you're too far gone! Your hatred has gone too far and I refuse to return to such a bigoted Kingdom until you clean up their act and stop trying to marry me off to that snob of a prince!" Said Melody.
"Perhaps you need some persuasion." Said Nemoné. She extended her hand to the side and shot a blast at some random civilians and there was an explosion. The blast engulfed the citizens and hit a wall which blew up.
"Oh my God! What have you done?! Those people had nothing to do with this!" Said Kimihito.
"It's okay, I got them." Said Goten who had relocated the group of people away from the explosion.
"You're a lifesaver!" Said a random woman.
"What were you thinking?! What you just did could be seen as an act of war! Are you crazy?!" Said Melody.
"Call it damage control for their negligence. They allowed our princess to be defiled, they allowed their own to be defiled and nothing was done for years. Why should I care about human life when humans don't care about their own? There's nothing they can do against us, our bodies are indestructible and even if those brainless land creatures stood a chance, they couldn't follow us into the ocean." Said Nemoné.
"You could have killed them!" Said Goten angrily.
"That was the point simpleton, weren't you listening? Now you know we aren't fooling around. I'm not sure how you managed to save those people but, in the end, you're still just a human. Still, the Queen might be interested in you. Perhaps we can keep you in a tank and you can be her new pet. I'm sure she'll reward you well with treats if you give us the information we want." Said Nemoné.
"After what happened with Melody, I get why you're so hostile but I'm not going to let you take this out on people who had nothing to do with it! I'll give you one chance, leave now." Said Goten firmly.
"As if I would flee from the likes of you." Said Nemoné.
"I was hoping to settle this without violence but now you're going down. You disrespected life, now you're gonna pay the price." Goten entered a fighting stance.
"Hey Romeo, get out of here. It's time for some action!" Said Zombina to Kimihito.
"You should come too! We're only going to get in his way." Said Kimihito.
"Wait. I would reconsider. This boy clearly isn't normal. You saw how fast he moved. We need to proceed with caution." Said Algi to Nemoné.
"We're aware of that, but he cannot be that powerful. Sardini, entertain our guests!" Said Nemoné.
Sardini tossed a ball of energy above Goten. It dispersed and rain-like projectiles descended upon Goten. Surprisingly they did not explode… immediately. The water on Goten's body started glowing and then it exploded. More explosive rain came down on Goten and Algi joined in the assault by creating a tsunami which was small enough to cover someone's feet. Nemoni swiftly picked up Melody and turned her back to the tsunami before firing an electric wave of energy at the explosion where Goten's feet would hypothetically be.
"Goten!" Melody screamed.
Nemoné waited for electric current to travel through the water so all witnesses would die, but no one died as before the electric blast hit Goten's feet and the water, Goten ran up to the blast and kicked it away. As he did, electricity surged around his body, but he was unaffected by it. She continued to walk away expecting to hear the screams of humans, but instead, she ended up screaming herself as she was punched in the back of the head by Goten. She dropped Melody and causing Goten to pick her up like a bride.
"Agh! Who did that?!" Said Nemoné
She turned around and saw Goten looking her in the eyes.
"How did you do that?! With our new bodies, we should be impervious to even the strongest of human weaponry. At your current level, we knew you'd survive but the humans as well? That should have at least damaged you and the humans should be disintegrated!"
"You should have done your research before picking a fight. I can suppress my power. I saw what you were trying to do and it's sick. I'll show you exactly what a 'human' can do." Said Goten. He powered up and punched Nemoné in the face, causing her to slightly flinch but she took a very minimal amount of damage. The Saiyan moved back to distance himself.
"I can't sense your ki. You're all androids." Said Goten.
"I resent that term but it's what beings with bodies like ours are referred to as. It's obvious you know about our mysterious allies. I promise we won't kill you. Because of the information you can provide to us, you're more useful alive than dead. If that punch was the pinnacle of your strength, then you stand no chance. Surrender now and you have my word no lives will be lost." Said Nemoné,
"I held back because as evil as you are, I don't want to kill you."
"Evil? Don't make me laugh. You humans and your disregard for others are what's evil." Said Sardini.
"But now that I know for sure that you're all androids, I don't have to hold anything back. I should thank you, really. I have a lot of pent-up anger towards Red Pharmaceuticals and you're giving me the perfect opportunity to release it." Said Goten.
"You're clearly more than meets the eye. What are you really? Are you another one of their creations?" Said Nemoné
"Sorry to disappoint but I'm all organic. Now let's take this somewhere else, shall we?" Said Goten.
"Be careful Goten!" Said Melody.
"Are you sure you can handle them Goten? There's three of them and one of you." Said Kimihito.
"I'll be fine. Kimihito, take Melody and get out of here! You too Zombina. Make sure she makes it out safe." Kimihito nodded and did just that.
"Be safe Goten!" Melody cried out.
"Everyone, get out of here!" Goten yelled. Random civilians began running away. Kimihito started to run along with them but he noticed Zombina was staying behind.
"Zombina, aren't you going to leave? You know what they can do, it's not safe! They won't just cut you apart, they'll disintegrate you!"
"You worry too much you know that? I got this handled, trust me and if all else fails, I got Goten on my side. Just find a safe place alright? We still got a culprit to catch." Said Zombina. Kimihito nodded and left but was secretly hiding behind a nearby wall.
"Scanning… Scanning…" Said Algi. "Oh my! His energy signature is beyond anything we've sensed before! We must proceed with caution!"
"Alright, time to kick some ass! At least now I have an excuse to use this baby!" Zombina pulled out a futuristic ray gun. The very same that once belonged to Beta No. 1. The very same one he used against Goten. "This gun ain't like my last one, it packs a punch. The boys at the laboratory let me borrow it for a test run. I wouldn't test my luck if I were you."
"Zombina, Kimihito was right. You need to get out of here too!" Said Goten.
"Sorry, but that's not going to cut it. I'm going to show these suckers they aren't invincible anymore! You're not the only one who stands a chance against these fish." Said Zombina.
"Is that so? Move another inch and I will destroy you and the refuse polluting this world." Said Sardini referring to the fleeing humans. He began charging up an energy wave at her. He looked at Goten. "Give up, and allow us to take back our princess and surrender yourself to us. It's the least you can do for our troubles. This blast will obliterate her entirely so I suggest you comply, human." Said Sardini looking away from Zombina.
"Watch where you're pointing that bub. I ain't afraid of you." Said Zombina as she pointed a ray gun at Sardini. It was the very same that Beta 1 used at the convenience store.
"How did you get that?" Said Nemoni as she gritted her teeth in frustration at the fact that this seemingly random zombie woman had a blaster like the ones created by Red Pharmaceuticals.
"None of your business! You're all under arrest. Resist, or I'll have to use force. Newsflash, you androids aren't so tough anymore so I wouldn't push my luck if I were you." Said Zombina.
"This isn't good Nemoné. Look at that woman's weapon. It's unlike anything any normal human civilization has in store. It's similar to the weapons our temporary associates have." Said Algi.
"Nonsense! Even if she acquired such a weapon, our bodies are impervious to harm! They may be powerful for weaponry, but with our modifications, we have evolved past mere fishfolk. Sardini, obliterate her!" Said Nemoné.
As Sardina charged up his attack, Goten flew at him to stop him from atomizing the zombie girl. "No you don't!" he cried only to be kicked into the ground by Nemoni, forming a small crater. "You fool!" Goten shouted as he lied in the crater.
"I can almost respect your courage. Goodbye foolish gir-" Sardini wasn't able to finish his sentence as Zombina fired her weapon at him. He was engulfed by a powerful ray blast and his body became a charred mess." "How…? We were supposed to be indestructible…" His voice became hoarse and he coughed up smoke before passing out.
"Damn, I forgot how destructive that was! I didn't wanna kill ya but it was me or you." Said Zombina.
"Sardini!" Algi yelled. You insolent land creatures! You will pay!" Algi created a trident out of water and tried to toss it at Zombina. Goten tried to intercept but he was once again interrupted by Nemoné.
"DON'T DO IT!" Goten yelled.
"Your fight is with me!" Said Nemoné as she intercepted with a water blast that shot the Saiyan back.
"Damn it!" Goten yelled.
The trident went right through Zombina, seemingly killing her before disappearing into a watery explosion. The trident was so big that the Zombie was split in two by the middle part of the trident and ripped apart by the explosion. The girl was in pieces.
"You should have minded your own affairs. You were grotesque before you were in such a pitiful state, so much so I would call this a makeover. You should be grateful." Said Algi as he gloated over the corpse of Zombina.
"Hey… would you mind saying that to my face, huh, fish stick?!" Zombina's hand grabbed the blaster and shot Algi right across the chest."
"This can't be! She's alive?!" Algi exclaimed.
"Hahahahaha, you should have seen the look on your face! Man, this gun is awesome!" Said Zombina.
"Ugh… outsmarted by a landweller… I swear I will never face such humiliation again! Nemoné, take Melody and return her to the Queen! She will pay for what she did to Sardini! Nemoné, I can still fight but we must ensure he is saved! We know where the princess is located!" Said Algi.
"No, the fact that Melody is in love with this human is an insult to us all! I must destroy him to prevent the royal bloodline from being soiled! I won't let her get married to a mere human!"
"How could you say that?! Sardini will die! We serve the Queen together! Doesn't that mean anything to you?!" Said Algi.
"We're all replaceable! If I fell short, I'd expect you to abandon me too! Glory before the Queen!" Said Nemoné.
"You were never like this before! We all have a distaste for humanity and any other species on the surface but we were never this reckless!"
"Then think of it like this. We can't afford to go back empty handed. He's not going to let us take back Melody and he won't willingly come with us. You know what they'll do to us all if we fail. If Red Pharmaceuticals finds out about him and kills him, we lose a perfect opportunity to turn the tide. If you want Sardini to live, then end this fast. Considering what 'they' will do to us, death may be a mercy for him." She said that softly.
"I was on board with just killing the witnesses, but one fish folk is worth more than the lives of every land dwellers combined. Very well, I will cooperate but only to end this swiftly so Sardini can be saved." Said Algi. He flew to the sky and was surrounded by a watery ball that became surrounded by a watery vortex. The spinning ball expanded and generated powerful winds that were powerful enough to disintegrate a person.
"This isn't good. You got this covered right Goten? …Goten?" Said Zombina as he vanished from the scene.
"It would seem your friend left you. You land creatures have no sense of loyalty. We'll track him down later, but first we'll find Princess Melody. But before that, you're going to pay for what you did to Sardini." Said Nemoné.
Goten flew into the eye of the storm at speeds too fast for the naked eye and delivered a punch to Algi's gut. As the water vortex disappeared Goten spoke. "You were more reasonable than your friend, I'll give you that. But for your sake, It's better you stay down. This won't mean anything to you coming from me, but I hope your friend makes a full recovery." Goten flew the fish man into the sky and appeared on the ground out of seemingly nowhere. He hoisted his hand up and waited for Algi's body to land on it. Once it did, Goten held him up like a trophy and tossed him onto the ground before looking at Nemoné.
"Leave now and you'll have a chance to save the other one. But if you kill anyone, I will hunt you down and don't think the ocean will save you from me." Said Goten.
"Nemoné grit her teeth but then she grins. "Cocky brat. I'm glad you're as strong as you are. Once your through, land-dwellers will realize just how fruitless it is to resist our power."
"It's ironic, isn't it? You all went on about how humans have no morals or compassion yet here I am showing more care for your friends than you do. That's why I'm going to end this in a single shot." Said Goten.
"How dare you say that?! We know any of us can die any day thanks to you humans so we can't let the death of one of us break us so easily! You humans and your mock compassion, you can take it with you to hell!"
"You can't beat me. The only thing you'll accomplish here is wasting your time."
"No, I'm ending this right here right now!" Said Nemoné.
Using his energy, Goten forced Nemoné into the sky with an invisible blast and followed her. He stood a good distance in front of Nemoné.
"I'll make sure you're fed only scraps once we capture you! When the wedding happens, we'll allow you to watch as you're starving in a tank!" Said Nemoné.
"You don't need to do this. Please make this easy for both of us. Continuing this any longer is a waste of both of our time."
"Afraid, are we? After all you've done, you expect to get off scot-free?"
"Your friend is dying! Don't let him die over something petty like this! Take your friend and get out of here!"
"And why should I believe you? You'll just attack us when we aren't looking and you have information that can endanger our kingdom."
"Alright, I'm through trying to convince you. Looks like we're doing this the hard way."
"The arrogance of you humans is astonishing! If you have history with Red Pharmaceuticals, then you should know what you're up against."
"My family has dealt with guys like you for ages. I know your greatest strength and your greatest weakness. Your greatest strength is your unlimited stamina. You can fight all day and you'll never get tired nor will you lose your energy reserves."
Nemoné began charging up a water attack that was surrounded by electricity. "So you know that much. Tell me old wise one, what exactly is our weakness?" She grinned mockingly.
"Your weakness is…" Goten rotated his arm in the air, surrounding it in a mini twister. In a split second he appeared in front of her with his whirlwind shrouded fist cocked back. "You haven't met me." his voice grew deeper than usual.
Nemoné gasped at the speed that Goten moved up to her but retaliated nevertheless. "Wave Style: Electric Tsunami!" she shouted. She hit Goten's fist with her own surrounded in an electric orb of water that expanded into a massive wave with electricity flowing through it.
"Cyclone Style: Tornado Hurricane!" Goten's first met Nemoné's, creating a giant tornado in the process. In the sky, there was a sight to be seen. A huge tornado that wasn't connected to the clouds or the ground clashed with a floating gargantuan wave.
Goten's fist overpowered Nemoné and pushed her back, allowing the tornado to suck up her cyclone and the android fishfolk herself. The cyclone ripped apart her clothes and some of her skin as well, but she wasn't fatally cut, just injured. 'What are these people? When did land-dwellers become this powerful?! I thought Red Pharmaceuticals was the peak of human strength. I must warn the Queen immediately!' She thought.
As Nemoné spun around inside the tornado that became blue due to the amount of water it had sucked up. When she reached the top of the Cyclone, Goten appeared at the top of it and delivered a downward kick to her sternum, launching her back to the ground. The force of her body hitting the ground made a small crater in the ground. As fast as she hit the ground, Goten flew down with her and stood above her. Nemoné could barely stand but she reached out her hand to blast Goten. In response, the Saiyan grabbed her wrist.
"Kill me, lock me away, it doesn't matter! The Queen will hear of what you've done! If you dare to lock me away, and I'll break out and take as many humans as I can with me and then I'll kill myself so you won't have the satisfaction of avenging them! I won't ever reveal a thing!" Said Nemoné. She desperately reached out her hand to blast Goten one last time only for the Saiyan to grab her arm.
Without a word, Goten smacked her across the face.
"How dare you?!" She said.
"You fool! Your friend is dying and all you can think about is beating me! You'll have another chance to fight me but you won't get another chance to save the sardine guy! You and your friends are irreplaceable, so don't treat your lives like they're nothing!"
"I don't take orders from you nor do I don't need your pity! Just kill me!"
"Why should I? You're no threat to me. The longer you talk, the less time you have to save your friend. If this is about your pride, don't worry. I'm not going anywhere." Goten smiled. "I'll be glad to fight you again on different terms as long as you don't endanger the lives of innocent people." Goten pointed at Sardini's smoldering body. He was alive albeit barely. "Now go."
"Wait, you're letting them get away?!" Said Zombina.
"This isn't over human! I will see to it that you suffer for this humiliation!" Nemoné was barely able to stand but she mustered all the strength to get up.
Goten smiled at her. "Looking forward to it. If you win, I'll go with you, but it's up to Melody if she wants to come along."
Nemoné picked up her comrades. "You won't be so cocky when you're our prisoner." She flew away back to their kingdom.
"What the hell was that? We had them right where we needed them!" Said Zombina.
"You heard her, if we put her in jail, she'd kill the guards and we'd get nothing out of her. I gave them a second chance and maybe with this, they'll realize humans do have compassion." Said Goten.
"You know, I might have killed someone. They might set things back but they started this. I hope this doesn't start a war, though." Said Zombina.
"It's our job to keep the people safe. If letting the citizens we're supposed to protect be slaughtered is the only way to prevent a war, then maybe peace was never an option. If I can help it, I'd like to end a possible war before it even begins."
"Well said! But how do you plan to do that?"
"I'll figure it out, but we now know for sure that Melody's kingdom is involved with the Red Ribbon Army." Said Goten. Suddenly he got a call from M.O.N HQ on his watch.
"Saiyaman X2! We have been contacted about a potential android threat!" Said the police chief.
"If it's a few aquatic androids, I already got it covered."
"You did? Excellent work Goten! Ahem, I mean Saiyaman X2." Said the police chief.
"I'm not in uniform since I just happened to be in the area when it happened. Finding a good coverup might be difficult. I'll be at HQ soon, there's a lot to discuss." Said Goten.
"I'll see you then." Said the chief before hanging up.
Goten turned off his watch and spoke to Zombina. "Let's catch up with the others alright?" Said Goten.
Goten and Zombina caught up with Melody and Kimihito. They didn't get to far since in retrospect, the fight against the Queen's knights didn't last that long.
"My social life is totally ruined now! Out of all the places, they had to show up here! I hope people will buy my excuse and won't put two and two together." Goten complained. "My story is... I'm not the Golden Warrior but I'm looking for him because he's an important figure in our culture! Yeah, that will work! ...Yeah, I should probably find something a bit more convincing than that."
"You two came back pretty fast. What happened?" Said Kimihito.
"Goten and I showed those gilled jerks who's boss! Let me tell you, this is one powerful gun weapon! Can't wait until we figure out how they work! I turned both of the fish heads into burnt fish sticks! although I think I might have... killed one of them on accident." Said Zombina.
"You what?!" Melody exclaimed.
"It was me or him. I warned him that he wasn't invincible anymore and he didn't listen. He was about to vaporize me with a blast, I beat him to it. I know firsthand what those blasts can do and I don't think I can regenerate from nothing."
"That's just wonderful! Now my mother has an excuse to start a war! I have fond memories of those three as a child but just like my mother, they changed. For as long as I can remember, they have always loathed land-dwellers but they never went this far though again they didn't have the power. Algi used to read to me as a child, Sardini raised me in my father's absence, and Nemoné… she was like a sworn sister to me, always protective of me. She detested humans like most in my Kingdom but the Nemoné I knew would never attack unarmed civilians!" Said Melody.
Zombina put a hand on her shoulder. "I can't make any promises but they might be able to save him. Goten smacked the shit out of that woman l and forced her to take them back home."
"She tried to commit mass murder," Goten explained.
"Yeah, well it was still funny as hell! She talked such a big game, but you sure showed her who's boss!" Zombina slapped her knees. "You're a riot kid!"
"Goten..." Said Kimihito.
"Hey, don't look at me like that! She was so focused on trying to beat me that she was going to let a comrade die so I had to slap some sense into her. If it were up to me, I would have prolonged the fight but someone's life was at risk." Goten's expression became serious for a moment. "I crave a good fight but I have plenty of opportunities for that. You only get one chance to live."
"Well if that's the case I guess it's fine, but would you seriously prolong a fight against someone that's trying to kill you?" Said Kimihito.
"Yeah, why?"
"Don't you have any sense of danger?" Said Kimihito.
Goten smiled. "Oh, I do. But when my life's on the line, it gets the adrenaline going and the fight becomes all the more fun. I want to see her again but next time no one will be endangered and it will be just me and her."
"Don't tell me you're interested in her Goten." Said Melody worried.
"Of course I am. She was weaker than me but she wasn't that much weaker. Next time we meet, something tells me she's going to be even stronger." Goten grinned.
"Is that what you look for in a woman?" Melody asked.
"Oh, you meant romantically. No, I don't think I could fall for someone who tried to murder a group of people, and her disgusting comments towards me and blatant disregard for life in general genuinely pissed me off. But it's not often that I get to fight someone who can fight back. I do hope she turns her life around after this."
"Then what is is your type of girl?" Melody asked.
"Huh? That's a good question." Goten looked away in deep thought. "I guess... I like a girl with a strong personality."
'That's not me at all!' Melody thought.
"But you know, you kind of fit the bill. You've been through so much but you're moving forward and you're changing for the better. I gotta say, I respect that."
"Oh, you flatter me Goten! Said Melody flushed. 'But wait, if he likes strong women could that mean Draconis is his type? I won't lose to her! I won't ever be a damsel in distress again, I'll show you just how strong I am Goten, just watch me.' Melody thought.
Zombina and Kimihito would carry on with their date after being asked questions about the incident. Goten would end up flying Melody home to get away from interviewers and then he'd fly back to Kimihito's home to change his clothes so he could go to M.O.N HQ.
Location: Seidonia Kingdom
Nemoné stood alone in the throne room before bowing before the King and Queen of Seidonia. The Queen was a Siren with two tails while the King was a merman with one.
"You mean to tell me you've failed to retrieve my daughter, and to a human no less? Not only did you fail, but your companions were injured as well! Algi may survive but we'll have to wait and see what can be done about Sardini. How could you all fail such a simple task?!"
"My apologies my queen!" Nemoné bowed down in shame.
"Raise your head up."
"Yes, my Queen!"
"What is the name of this human?"
"His name was Goten, Your Majesty. Our modified bodies were supposed to be invincible but we were no match for this boy. The worst part is… he spared my life. It was as if I wasn't even worth killing in his eyes. He has disgraced me!" Said Nemoné.
"And this Goten is responsible for killing Sardini, a servant of our beloved kingdom?! This must be treated as an act of war!" Said the King.
"He's not dead yet and Goten wasn't responsible. It was a demi-human woman who worked for law enforcement." Said Nemoné.
"But how could she achieve such a thing?! Human or non-human, she shouldn't be able to harm you." Said the King.
"She had a weapon akin to the one Red Pharmaceutical's soldiers use. We aren't sure how she obtained it but it was a great deal stronger than the one's their soldiers typically use. Even their weapons wouldn't do anything to us." Said Nemoné.
"I want this boy brought to me!" Said the King.
Nemoné nodded. "I agree Your Majesty. I may have failed my task but I have returned with some important information. Goten has plenty of information on Red Pharmaceuticals and his family has a history with them. I believe it is vital that we capture him and Melody."
"You were able to confirm Melody's location. You have my gratitude. However this failure is unacceptable. Fortunately, I have a new task for you. I want you to bring me Son Goten." Said the Queen.
"There's one issue your highness. He's a prince and Melody is infatuated with him." Said Melody.
To her surprise, the Queen began laughing. "That's excellent! That means it will be easy to lure him here!"
"This Goten dares to seduce my fiancé?! Who does he think he is?! With her, I was to produce an heir with the power to use Amphitrite's pendant! My descendants were going to become the strongest!" Said Prince Nereus who was sitting by a pillar in the throne room.
"Nemoné!" Said the King.
"Yes, my lord." She bowed.
"Are you certain Goten is human?"
"Well, he looked the part. As much as I loathe to admit it, his power was extraordinary though I simply assumed Japan has found a way to modify themselves just like Red Pharmaceuticals has for us." Said Nemoné.
"If they had, I would know about it. I have ways to keep tabs on the human world and considering their previous performances against Red Pharmaceutical's androids, I'd wager they've only recently been working with the same technology we have or Goten isn't a human." Said the Queen.
"Insolence aside, this Goten has piqued my interest. He could make an excellent soldier and his offspring will do wonders in furthering the power of my empire." Said Nereus.
"No, this boy is ours. He has too much knowledge but at the same time, we can convince him to join us. Humans are greedy so there must be something we can use to make him betray his race. I see no problem with having him as an ally. He's a prince you say?" Said the King.
"Yes." Said Nemoné.
"What nation is he from?" The Queen asked.
"He said he's from a nation that doesn't exist here, whatever that means." Said Nemoné.
"Could it be? Could he be connected to the Nameless King?" Said the Queen.
"The Nameless King?" Nemoné asked.
"He's a mysterious man who constantly gets in the way of M. According to M, He's a behemoth of a man who made himself into an android and is recruiting traitors against the cause to fight against him. The Nameless King has traveled around the world, destroying secret bases of Red Pharmaceuticals and fighting off modified beings and members of the cult of Typhon all in search of a certain someone. As to who that is, it remains unclear. He came out of seemingly nowhere there aren't even official records on him. There are rumors of his existence but they've been dismissed by the public. The truth of the matter is, he is very much real." Said The Queen.
"Then if we capture Goten, that might be our chance to defeat him once and for all. Once we have access to the World Changing Machine, we will flood the world and create a paradise of only sea life." Said the King.
"Goten must face retribution for what he has done! He humiliated me and he sides with the land-dwellers!" Nemoné reasoned.
"My Queen, I believe our new target has information on our allies. We both know what they've done, but it will be all worth it in the end. All the suffering our subjects had to endure will not be in vain." Said Nemoné.
"Your highnesses! A public figure on the surface realm was interviewed live and he has knowledge on Red Pharmaceuticals! He has also engaged with Beta 1 and fought on equal terms with him! You should see this!" Said A fishfolk informant who ran into the palace.
"Show us." Said the King.
They used magic to project the interview video of Saiyaman X2. After watching it, they were surprised by all the information they received.
"The Saiyan race, a species from beyond the stars with unimaginable power. That would match up with the person who defeated Cell, but last I remembered, they were said to have died. However, this Saiyaman X2 believes they survived somehow. Are we certain Goten isn't an android? No knowledge ever escapes the Red Ribbon Army. How else can he have that information?" The King asked.
"He claimed he was all organic." Said Nemoné.
"Beta 1 was organic before he died and resurrected by Dr. Hedo's technology so it's certainly possible that he's involved and the Saiyaman X2 on the news was the same one who gave Beta 1 trouble. But that's just the thing. The Saiyaman X2 that fought Beta 1 being a Saiyan would explain how he would keep up without any modifications to his body. A Saiyan was able to destroy that beast on the surface yet one if its many victims was an android. It isn't as if Goten pretended to be normal either. If we can convince him to form an allegiance with us, we can form a new era without land-dwellers! Melody is smitten with him? I barely have to lift a finger." Said the Queen.
"It's settled. With what happened to Sardini, we now claim the moral high ground when we start this war. The land dwellers already stand no chance against us as it, but the war won't be the eliminate them, not immediately. The war will serve as a distraction for what's to come. We'll cease aggression if they agree to give Goten to us. Once Goten is in our custody, he will be to wed with Princess Melody. We could also make him a concubinus, but if Goten is indeed connected to the Nameless King and news of him marrying the princess gets out, he may be reluctant to fight against us. Once Project Ragnarök is unleashed, their descendants will rule over the new world!" Said the King.
Nereus was livid. "Melody was supposed to be my wife! I was promised an heir with the power to use Amphitrite's pendant!" Said Nereus.
"We needed your genetics to produce an heir that had godly strength along with the power to use Amphitrite's pendant. However, the child of Melody and Goten would guarantee us the world that belongs to us! You must understand the bigger picture Nereus." Said the King.
Nereus looked very angry. "How could you?! I was supposed to rule! You promised me my bloodline would have become the strongest in the world!"
"Your engagement with my daughter was purely political from the very beginning, it was never about love. According to Saiyaman X2, there aren't many Saiyans left. Having that power at our disposal will ensure the land dwellers won't have a defense against the our subjects. We can give him all the women he desires and in turn he will produce us with perfect soldiers who don't need Red Pharmaceuticals technology. Your Kingdom is allied to ours and will become stronger as a result. You should be celebrating!"
"You greedy pile of sea scum! You expect me to be satisfied with me?! Ruling the new world by Melody's side is my birthright! My empire was meant to be the strongest! Do you really expect me to celebrate having that stripped from me?!" Said Nereus.
"My apologies but the Nameless King is a fearsome foe so we simply must take the opportunity to have him wrapped around our finger. An alliance with the Saiyans will ensure our victory and considering their low numbers and the power of Red Pharmaceuticals, this isn't an opportunity they can afford to pass up. If all else fails and the Saiyans refuse to join us, we will take Goten alone and he a concubinus of Melody. In that scenario, you may wed her."
"Nereus angrily left but before he did, he said one thing. "Melody belongs to me and me alone! You can't take her from me!"
...
Nereus was met with unsettling stares of silence from both the King and Queen. Neither of them said a word but he could feel dangerous intentions coming from both.
Nereus's expression darkened as he was met with silence. "So be it then." He left the throne room.
"Thank goodness he's gone. So, M and Goten are likely enemies. That certainly makes things complicated." Said the Queen.
"Why were you discussing allying with Goten? He should face consequences for what happened to Sardini. And M is supposed to be our enemy. That was the entire point of allowing them to stay in our Kingdom, was it not? We were to use him so we could reclaim our rightful place as the rulers of the world." Said Nemoné
"You may excuse yourself Nemoné." Said the Queen.
"Yes, of course your highness." Nemoné left the throne room.
"Poor deluded girl... There may be a need for reprogramming. We can't have her becoming self aware after all. Still, it seems like her programming still won't allow her to question any of my actions. It's brilliant, really. No matter what I say or do she will continue to serve me without complaint. I do hope she will continue to be useful to Lord M. In any case, what were you thinking, discarding Nereus like that?" Said the Queen.
"Goten should have stronger genes than Prince Nereus, he will guarantee our victory. The benefits of the union between Goten and Melody will benefit our kingdom greatly compared to Nereus. Just think, we can expand our power beyond what's on this planet!" Said the King.
"Prince Nereus would still have made an excellent pawn. He doesn't just have strength in his genetics, he has connections! We could have just had him believe he was marrying our daughter. The guppy still had his use."
"I... didn't think of that."
"Of course you didn't." She sighed bitterly. "We must report what we have heard immediately."
The Queen took out a communication device and spoke. "We believe we have found someone with ties to the Nameless King that we can use to find and eliminate him. I will send troops to Location A as you prepare to activate Project Ragnarök. Once you do, the Red Ribbon army will reign Supreme. I've already turned many of the Queen's subjects into our slaves. Most subjects of ours do not possess the necessary mana, so we'll have to search elsewhere. Once we find them, they will be sent to Location A to fuel the World Changing Machine so you may recreate the world in your image." Said the 'Queen'.
"The Nameless King huh? So he's still hell bent on getting in my way."
"Who exactly is he?" The Queen asked.
"Even I barely know about him but I know he's a king who became an android. As far as I'm aware, neither the Red Ribbon Army nor Dr. Hedo did it to him. His motivation is to find Hedo and to destroy the Red Ribbon Army. It's unclear if he's looking for vengeance or an alliance. There'd be a big problem if they joined forces but it looks like we're all enemies here."
"Ah yes, Hedo. That's the person responsible for creating Beta 1. He was useful as a mercenary though he failed to retrieve my daughter. However, he did avenge my daughter's honor so I am grateful for that. With that said, I do not grieve his demise. Not long ago you told me he and Hedo were plotting against you did you not? For the longest time I was under the impression they were your allies." Said the Queen.
"We were, but he tried to turn against us. I could have killed him but he was too useful. Before I had him create androids out of the most heinous individuals to make heroic androids. After that, I was able to manipulate information to make people with questionable pasts seem more sinister than they truly were. He's a crafty one though. In the press of a button, he could have most of, if not all of our Red Ribbon Army bases instantly destroyed and he could use his technology to help people defend against us. But he doesn't know where I am and if he does that, I'll turn the people against him by revealing the part he played in all the kidnappings and if that doesn't work I'll just execute Project Ragnarök early. He says we can't because it will destroy the world but I know he's just fear-mongering. You'd think Hedo and The Nameless King would be allies but Hedo took something precious from him."
"What did he take from him?"
"I don't know much about him but do know Hedo hurt a lot of people in his pursuit of justice. I don't know how he knew as much as he did or how got so powerful but he just kind of showed up one day and started attacking my army. In my last encounter with him, the Nameless King held me responsible for one of my soldiers killing his daughter and shortly after that transpired, one of Hedo's androids had to go off and make it worse by mincing up the soldier who finally managed to do her in. It killed a competent soldier and there wasn't a single blood drop left. It was like he was erased from existence they say. Hedo says it was an error in his programming but I'm not buying it! That little twerp has always had it out for me since he found out we played him for a sucker. He actually thought we were going to help him. Create a new world order of superheroes that stops people from engaging in criminal activity by killing people who did. Don't make me laugh, that was never going to work. Thanks to that useful idiot of a genius, the world is ours for the taking!" Said M.
"It should also be noted that the creature known as Cell has been exterminated by a boy who was mortally wounded and disfigured past the point of recognition. Despite Saiyaman X2's belief that the boy who killed the monster is alive, it is unlikely as he was mortally wounded and disfigured past the point of recognition before being abducted from his deathbed by what is believed by the public to be an android." Said the 'Queen'.
"So the public knows the truth behind our androids now, so what? If Hedo makes androids that fight against my android army, I'll stop funding his research and he won't be able to fight back. If he gets the Red Storm 7 involved, it will already by too late! Still, I'd rather him continue to make enemies out of the rest of the world as he continues to build MY army. The new world will have no place for him but with the power of the world changing machine, no one will be able to betray me or the Red Ribbon Army so maybe he can build up our army forever. Hedo's androids will all be under my control and anyone who isn't a part of our army will be slaves! As for Saiyaman X2, I've got something in store for him."
"Glory to Lord M!" Said the King and Queen of Seidonia
Outside of the Seidonia Kingdom, Prince Nereus spat. "Treated as an illegitimate heir because of my Impure blood, and now my birthright is denied once more?! Nereus looked at his clownfish tail in disgust. "If you're going to take my wife from me, I'll just have to take Goten from you! Just watch me!" The muscular prince swam away to return to his own kingdom.
Inside a secret room in a Red Ribbon Base, there was a Super Computer.
"Commencing Conversation with Commander M." Said the Super Computer as it received a call from the commander.
"Greetings, Dr. Gero. I take it you still have access to Dr. Hedo's recording systems?" Said M.
"Indeed I do. My disgrace of a grandson has no idea we know what he's been up to. As much as it pains me to admit it, he's currently capable of producing androids far stronger than mine."
"Then you have access to Beta 1's last moments?"
"I do. I analyzed what little of the battle with Cell I could through his eyes. I was not able to witness his entire fight with Goten but I did witness his battle with Cell. I was also to do research on the boy and I found the harpy he saved once lived with Goten among other non-human girls and a Japanese man who owns the house. Based on my data, Cell surpassed all expectations by absorbing different species opposed to just humans. Hedo's modifications also must be taken into account. Unfortunately I find myself rather limited in what I can create, but I have improved some of my old Androids."
"Surely you know Saiyaman X2 is Goten."
"Yes, indeed. He would have been a hurdle in our plans for the world but it's not likely that he survived his encounter with Cell."
"On a news station in Japan, Saiyaman X2 made an appearance on the news. Unlike the Saiyaman that fought Beta 1, this one had an outfit. The kind your grandson likes so much. He said he believes the person that killed Cell is still out there. Normally I'd say that's impossible but we know from some of the footage of Goku that they had ways to heal from near fatal injuries. Those beans shouldn't exist in this world, but we need to make sure he's dead so we can know for sure he won't get in our way. I will need you to check Goten's old place of residence to see if he's alive. If he is, we'll have to destroy him immediately. We know how strong Goku was, so we can't take our chances with this one." Said M.
"I know all about the interview on television but we are unsure if it is the real Goten. From previous recordings, he claims to be the son of the mighty Goku but that can't be right. If true, he's a significant hurdle in our plans. Aliens like him are too much of a threat to take lightly."
"Then get on with it. I've got bigger fish to fry. I think we're almost good on life energy, now but magic is much harder to come by. Once we have all the different types of energy it needs, I'll activate it. As it is now, we can reshape plenty of countries but we don't have enough to reshape the Earth just yet. Once you're done with Goten's host family, we'll have Androids go after creatures with high levels of magic."
"Alright."
M hung up.
The Super Computer set off a command on its own and 3 container pods slowly opened up. The first one to open up contained a gray haired man wearing a jacket with a Red Ribbon Insignia.
"Howdy there, Doctor. I see you finally saw fit to let us out our pods. Ya took too long and now my target's gone."
"You were too defective back then, but you're all I have now. You have a new target now."
"Before you start handin out orders, ya mind telling me why you saw fit to release us now after refusing to 'defective'."
"Because we've got word that there might be another Saiyan out there who could be just as, if not a greater nuisance than Son Goku.
"Then who's my new target?"
"His self-proclaimed son, Goten. We don't know if he's alive so we're instructing you to go to his house and make sure he's dead. If he's not, get rid of the people who lived with him because they're might know too much. If Goten isn't there, interrogate them. Use force if you must." Said the Super Question.
"Alright, I think I get the gist of this mission. But Ah, know what this is really about. Since we're risking ourselves for this, I ain't going nowhere til ya tell me one last thing."
"And what's that?"
"Where. Is. My. Trucker. Hat."
A mechanical arm fell down from the ceiling and dropped a hat on his head.
"Well kid, for you're sake I hope the rumors of you being alive ain't true. Cause if they are, it looks like 13 is your unlucky number."
The gray haired Android left the lab and two others followed.
After Goten saved Melody from being taken back to her Kingdom. Kimihito finished his date with Zombina though the mood wasn't the same due to Zombina having potentially just killed someone albeit in self defense. After his date with Zombina, he went on a date with Manako. On his date with Manako, they found the culprit and it turned out to be… DOPPEL?! Yeah, it turned out she and Ms. Smith wrote the letter to scare Kimihito into choosing someone. They would have called off the dates after the incident with Zombina but they still had a culprit to catch.
However, there was another death threat, and it wasn't from Doppel. In fact, Doppel had nothing to with the letter to Goten either. On his way home, Kimihito would find a headless girl with a scythe and ended up taking her home. As for Goten well… After the incident with the androids, Goten was called to M.O.N HQ to discuss something important. As a result, he didn't get home until later.
"Sorry I'm late guys, I had some business to take care of. Hey, what's with the mannequin?" Said Goten as he pointed to the headless person sitting on the coach.
"She's not a mannequin, this is a real girl." Said Kimihito.
"Wow, really? Why can't I sense her energy?"
"That's not the reaction I was expecting, sensei." Said Centorea."
"I know Kimihito wouldn't bring a headless corpse to his house. It would take a real psycho to do that. Maybe she's a God or an android… wait a minute. Let me have a look ins- nope, that's definitely the insides of a person. I wish I didn't see that." Said Goten.
"What did you expect?" Rachnera asked.
"I thought someone might've put a camera inside of her to watch us. After that stunt I pulled on my date with Melody, it's safe to say people know I'm at least connected to Saiyaman X2. If the public doesn't know, the Red Ribbon Army almost certainly does and let's just say doing something like that would be very in character for them." Said Goten.
"You're too paranoid." Said Rachnera.
"What did you do? I do hope you and Melody were able to enjoy your date. I'm glad you made it safe." Said Mero.
"Oh us? We just hung out at the mall and even saw a movie. On the way out, we even met up with Melody... and then we were attacked but that's okay since I took care of that. Anyway, Where did you go after we ran into each other anyway?" Said Goten to Kimihito.
"We went to a drink bar and then I went on a date with Manako. Actually on that date we were able to find the culprit."
"Really? Who was it?" Goten asked.
"Well first it was Smith and Doppel. It was to encourage me to pick someone."
"Are you kidding me? We're going to have a long talk about this at HQ next time I see them." Said Goten.
"And also, her." Kimihito gestured to the headless girl.
"Her? But how? She doesn't even have eyes.
"I'm pretty sure she does, but she somehow misplaced her head." Said Kimihito.
"How do you misplace you head?" Said Goten.
"Yeah, that's not the kind of thing that's easy to lose." Said Rachnera.
"I know it's weird but I couldn't leave her." Said Kimihito.
'She's not a stray dog.' Rachnera and Centorea thought.
"Anyway, I'm going to go look for her head now."
"At this hour?" Said Centorea.
"It's rather dark." Said Rachnera
"Wait til morning." Said Centorea.
Kimihito smiled at them. "Somewhere out in town, a girl's head is lost and scared. I gotta help."
"Then allow me to assist you." Said Centorea.
"You wanna help?"
"There's no need to aimlessly search the city all by yourself master." Said Mero who was carrying flashlights.
"Yeah, let me come too." Said Papi who had a flashlight on her head.
"Alright!" Goten transformed into a Super Saiyan. "Count me in too!"
"Okay, thanks a lot you guys. We should get going now." Said Kimihito.
Miia got up from laying on the sofa due to being unsettled by the Dullahands headless body. "Wait, you can't go without me!" Said Miia.
"Me and Suu will stay here and keep an eye on little miss headless." Said Rachnera.
Outside…
"There's not really enough light to see anything here." Said Papi as she flew.
Mero came out of a pond. "Nothing so far, I'll let you know if I find anything."
"Sounds good, be careful in the dark." Said Kimihito.
"Time to make everyone's lives 100 times easier. HAAAA!" Goten's body erupted in a yellow flame, lighting up his surroundings.
"Of course! You're a genius sensei! By using the natural light generated from your Super Saiyan form, you're able to get a better view of things." Said Cerea.
"It doesn't just do that, it increases my vision too so I'll probably never need glasses. I can't sense her energy so this is the next best thing." Goten began flying around the area until he found her head.
"Uh, this is the head right? Wakey, wakey!" Said Goten.
…
"Hey everyone, I think I found her!" Goten shouted.
Miia and Centorea came. As soon as Miia got there, she screamed.
"I'll take her elsewhere to calm her down. You have Goten with you to handle the head, so you won't have to handle this by yourself." Said Centorea.
"Sure, no problem. I wonder if she's alive." Said Kimihito.
"I hope so." Said Goten.
Kimihito bent down to pick up her head.
"Do not touch me so casually." Said the head. Kimihito fell down and crawled back in fear. Meanwhile, Goten simply stood their with a blank smile. "I am Dullahan. I am the harvester of spirits and the harbinger of death. It seems you've been caring for my body. You have my gratitude."
"You're welcome." Said Goten and Kimihito in two completely different tones.
"I regret that I was forced to appear to you in this form. Since I am being pursued by the organization, I know my options are limited."
"Organization? What organization? Goten asked.
"As long as I remain in this state, I cannot exercise the power of death. So humans, I will now permit you to touch my flesh. Offer up your own body as my temporary host so that you may do my bidding. Return me to my completed state and allow the glorious darkness to bless me once more."
"Yep, you're definitely the one who sent me that letter alright. Why would you do that?" Goten asked.
"Insolent mortal! Such arrogance! I am death incarnate, and yet you have escaped my grasp not once, but twice! You must obey me and help me restore my power so I can correct that mistake!"
"Uh, don't take this the wrong way but If you're going to try and kill me, I don't think I will." Said Goten.
She became embarrassed. "Listen uh, I just want you to take me back to my body okay? That's all. Being a disembodied head, well it's kind of tricky." Her tone switched from serious to flustered in minutes.
"Oh man, Trunks would have a field day with you. Alright you convinced me, but before we go, let's start from the beginning. Why did you send us that letter?" Said Goten.
"I already told you. I am a Dullahan, bringer of death. I only have one reason to contact the living." Said the head. She started gasping.
"Woah, what's going on!" Said both Goten and Kimihito.
"It would seem as though someone is doing something to my body. This is humiliating." Said the head.
"Violating?" Said Kimihito. And then it hit him. Rachnera.
Back at the house Rachnera was… trying out her bondage techniques on the headless girl's body.
"Aw, I can't see how she's reacting without her head. I have to admit, this is bizarre, even for my tastes. Oh well, what's it really matter? She seems to be having fun either way." Rachnera chuckled as she tightened the webs.
In the forest where they found the girls head, the head of the girl began moaning while Goten was holding her head.
"Hey, what are you doing?! People are gonna get the wrong idea!" Said Goten.
"It's Rachnera, that's why she wanted to stay home." Said Kimihito.
"Why am I not surprised? Of course It'd be her!" Goten shook his head. "What are we going to do with that woman?"
A familiar-looking police officer was patrolling the area and Goten recognized him. Kimihito hide behind a tree. "Goten, hide!" He whispered
"This is way too dark and scary. But someone said they heard a lady screaming here. So I guess I gotta-"
Instead of hiding, Goten approached the man. "Hey, you must be Mr. Satsuke. Melody told me all about you, thanks for agreeing to be her host family." Said Goten.
"Dude!" Said Kimihito.
"FREEZE! DON'T MOVE! I'll SHOOT!" Said the cop as he pointed a gun at Goten.
"Oh no, I forgot I was holding her head! Hear me out, there's a totally reasonable explanation for this!"
"Why are you carrying a disembodied head?! And you, what are you doing with him?!" Said the police officer."
"Oh, I totally forgot! Hey, I know this looks bad, but she's alive. You see, there was a liminal missing her head so we thought we'd go on a bit of a side quest to find her head. We were just about to return her head to her body." Goten explained.
"You're not going anywhere but the slammer pal! Don't mess with the law pal!"
"Hey, can you explain to this guy that we're just doing you a favor? W-What are you doing?!" Said Goten.
The headless girl began licking and sucking on his fingers.
"Knock it off! You're just making it worse!" Said Goten.
The headless girl just continued licking and sucking on his fingers causing thee cop to lower his guard and look at them with a face that just said 'Degenerates…'.
"I know you're probably really hungry but you'll just have to bear with it for now. We'll get you something to eat faster than any delivery service." Said Goten.
"You're Melody's friend, right? That means you're probably around her age. You're way too young for this and this sort of thing should stay at home. Also, it's way too late for you to be out here like this." The cop looked at Kimihito. "Are you this kid's guardian?" Said Satsuke.
"Yeah."
"You should know better." Said the cop
"Now wait just a minute! There is absolutely nothing going on between us! You have to belie-"Before Goten could explain himself, Papi flew right into the the police officers head, knocking him out.
"OW OW OW! I couldn't see where I was flying!" Said Papi.
Goten sighed. "I hope that guy forgets everything that transpired here and doesn't say a thing to Melody or else I'm never going to hear the end of it."
"What happened here, master?" Said Centorea. As she, Miia, and Mero returned.
"A lot of stuff that nobody needs to know about." Said Goten.
The Dullahan was at Kimihito's home and she finally reattached her head.
"Perhaps I should tie your head on so you don't lose it again." Said Rachnera.
"OI! Rachnera! You mind telling me what that heck that was?!" Said Goten.
"What ever could you mean?" Said Rachnera.
"Do you have any idea how awkward it was to explain her reaction to what you were doing to her body to the police officer who was patrolling the area? And it just had to be the same cop that became Melody's host family. If I go to their house to study, I'll be getting weird looks! Or even worse! She might get ideas..." Goten whispered that last sentence. The mental image of Melody sucking on his fingers came to mind. She was normally a dignified lady but she enjoyed doing things to get a rise out of him.
"Sorry~." Said Rachnera insincerely.
"I made tea for everyone. Would you like some milady?" Said Mero as she her wheelchair was pushed by Suu.
"Yes, I'm curious to see if mortal beverages can cure my otherworldly thirst." Said the Dullahan.
"Oh, so you can drink normally?" Cerea asked.
"Of course." She removed her head and poured the tea down her throat.
"That's unconventional." Said the Centaur. Lala's face began sweating. "It's too hot."
"How cool. Do you eat like that too?" Papi asked.
"Indeed."
"Oh dear, I think you forgot something important." Said Rachnera.
"I think I know a little something about Dullahans." Said Centorea.
"Dullawhat?" Miia awoke from stupor.
"The dullahans are headless knights who appear to those on the brink of death. Like the grim reaper, they harvest the souls of the dead and escort them to the underworld." Said Centorea.
"Reaper? No way!" Said Miia.
"Oh my, how intriguing! That sounds like a fairy tale." Said Mero excitedly.
"Exactly. I thought dullahans were imaginary." Said Rachnera.
"Yeah, says the giant spider." Kimihito responded. "Wait, if she's here then that means someone's about to die."
"Yes, someone in this house is knocking on deaths door." Said the previously headless girl.
"But how do you know?" Kimihito asked.
"It's you." She pointed at him, causing panick. "You are going to die very soon."
Kimihito just stood their in shock.
"And that's not all." Lala pointed at Suu. "I sense the soul of a truly wicked being within you. His soul cries out in agony, eternally scorched by the black flames of hell." She said.
"No way, Suu isn't bad!" Papi defended her.
"I am referring to the soul trapped within her. A soul is sealed within her, and it is suffering through eternal torment. The black flames continue to burn away at his soul yet they will not fully consume it."
"No way! Are you telling me Cell's spirit is trapped in Suu?" Said Goten.
"His soul cries out agony, cursing your name. My duty calls for me to reap his soul but the black flames of ire refuse to let him rest."
"Hey Kimihito?"
"Yes, Goten?"
"You wouldn't happen to know of any local exorcists that would be active at this time would you?"
"Well no, at least I don't think so."
"Well he's got to go like now. I don't care if he's a ghost, he's not welcome here." Said Goten.
"That won't be necessary. I can separate his spirit from this girl, but returning his soul to the afterlife may prove difficult. The black flames burn away at his soul yet as much as he desires to no longer exist, the flames will not let his agony come to an end. The flames that burn away at his essence are rivaled only by the burning hatred within him. If he escapes his prison and his hatred becomes too powerful, he can manifest into the mortal realm. To deal with this demonic spirit, I must find out when and how he was sealed within this girl. Only then will I be able to send this soul to the afterlife."
"That monster deserves to burn for what he did to all those people. I can't ever forgive him, especially after what he did in my village. Why does he have to be sent to the afterlife? Does it really make a difference whether or not he burns inside Suu or in the underworld?" Miia asked.
"Such is the natural order. All things come to an end, and when this one perishes." She points at Suu. "His soul will be free to harm other roaming spirits. This impending disaster will need to be nipped in the bud." Said The Dullahan.
"Besides, is it really okay for Suu to be holding Cell's spirit inside of her? What if his spirit tries to corrupt her or something?" Said a concerned Goten.
"Suu is okay with it. If she can prevent him from harming the ones she loves, then Suu will be his prison." Said the slime girl.
"He must face judgement at all costs and swiftly. Otherwise, there will be no other choice than for his soul to be erased which is forbidden." Said the Dullahan.
"I'm with you, but we need figure out a way to do it without endangering the dead." Said Goten.
"And finally, you." She looked at the Saiyan teenager.
"Huh? What about me?" Goten pointed to himself.
"Tell me, what are you?"
"I'm a Saiyan-human hybrid, but why do you ask?"
"Your presence defies all logic. Your soul does not originate from this world and like the human, you were on the brink of death. Unlike the human, the injuries inflicted upon you were mortal wounds and you were mere moments away from meeting your end. Your wounds vanished as if they had never occurred and death mysteriously did not claim you. However, this was not your first encounter with death. You were on the brink of death but your soul did not leave your body. It is indeed true that you survived your second encounter with death but the nature of your soul has been revealed to me by my All-seeing Evil Eye of Balor. I have seen the truth and therefore, it is my duty to relieve you from this world and to return your soul to the afterlife… for you have perished once before."
I'm glad I was able to get this out. May have made some minor mistakes since Grammarly isn't working like it used to and I don't know of a good alternative. Honestly, I just rather just not pay but it's easy for me to miss things especially for long chapters. I hope this chapter wasn't so bad that I have to redo it after I reread my story because I really need to reacquaint myself with the lore. Before I go, I'd like to say criticism is valid. But if you're just here to say "You suck at this", it doesn't come across as coming from a place of wanting me to improve, it comes across as being upset I didn't write what you wanted me to write and if that's the case, write your own story. I know there's area's I'm not good at but if I don't try, I won't get better. I'm not proud of my first fight scenes but I think I improved even if I'm still far from perfect. Writing fights isn't fun for me because a lot of thought is put into them to make them interesting but the satisfaction I feel from bringing my vision to life makes it all the more worth it. I thought my supporters would really like it and I wanted to give back to them for being so supportive. This is more than just a story for me, it's a learning experience. I will make changes if I think I screwed up, but I won't change the direction of this story to satisfy other people. I shouldn't have put the long wall of text on my last chapter but I had a lot to get off my chest. I'm doing better now though. I no longer feel my life is in danger although I am very busy. That means I won't have much time for this story but I fully intend to finish it. There may be a drop in quality as a result but I hope you enjoy my story regardless. The next chapter is pretty much done but I need to figure out how I want to end it and add some revisions as well. Until next time. Peace.
