"Not how I wanted to spend my first trip to Cybertron." Miko said. "Starscream." Megatron said. "Jack, Elsa, it's time to come out and play." Starscream said as he put Jack down and scratched Elsa's pod with his clawed digits and picked Jack back up.
"Go ahead. The Autobots were prepared to sacrifice themselves for my planet, I'll do the same for theirs." Elsa said. "So will I." Jack asked. "Me too." Anna said. "Me three, creepy." Miko said. Raf didn't say a word to Soundwave. "Perhaps we should oblige them." Megatron said.
"If my decision dooms the future of the Autobot cause on Cybertron, so be it. But I will never forsake our human allies." Optimus said and planted the Star Saber into the ground and backed up to the other Autobots. Arcee deactivated the Apex Armor and threw it to the Star Saber.
Bee, Bulkhead, and Smokescreen threw the Immobilizer, Phase Shifter, and Polarity Gauntlet. "Now, if you please, the Omega Keys. One at a time." Megatron said. "You first, big boy." Knockout said. Bulkhead hesitated but walked forward. "If I don't get the girl, I'll make you eat this key." He said as he gave Knockout the Omega Key. "You're welcome." Knockout said and gave Miko to Bulkhead.
"Get scrapped." Miko said. Bee stepped forward. "As Anna has no importance to me, you can take her and Raf for one key." Megatron said. Soundwave gave Anna and Raf to Bee, and he gave the spy-master the Omega Key. "If these two humans were important enough to entrust with the Matrix of Leadership, they each are worth two Omega keys." Megatron said.
Arcee and Smokescreen stepped forward as Starscream put Elsa and Jack down. "No tricks, the keys, if you please." He said and opened his servos. Arcee and Smokescreen gave him the Omega Keys. Arcee gave Jack and Elsa a sad look. A portal opened, and dozens of Vehicons came through and surrounded them. Bee set Anna down next to Arcee.
The monitor beeped. "Optimus, were you successful?" Ratchet asked. "Ratchet? It's June Darby. How are you?" June asked. Ratchet sputtered. "Busy, miss Darby. I am expecting urgent news from the Autobots." He said. "Oh. Are Jack, Elsa, and Anna with them?" June asked. "No, why?" Ratchet asked.
"I haven't seen them all day, and Jack isn't returning my calls." June said. "I will have Jack contact you immediately should I hear from him. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must keep the comm lines clear." Ratchet hung up. "Ratchet? Hello?" June asked.
"Now bare witness as a new era dawns on Cybertron." Megatron said as he inserted two Omega Keys into the pedestal. Starscream put his two in as well. Knockout and Soundwave inserted the last two. "Behold, the Age of the Decepticons!" Megatron yelled as the Omega Lock charged on.
He pressed a button, and a beam of Cyber-Matter erupted from the side. It struck a nearby building. The pieces were lifted, and the building became shiny and new. "By the Allspark." Optimus muttered. "Cool." Anna whispered. "Instant home makeover." Miko observed.
"Shiny." Knockout said. "You have what you want, Megatron. This conflict is between Autobots and Decepticons. Allow me to return the humans to Earth." Optimus said. "Oh, I wouldn't recommend it. They'll be far safer here." Megatron said.
Optimus was confused. "Is the Space-Bridge locked on target?" Megatron asked. "Per your instructions, Lord Megatron." Starscream said. "Excellent. Why rule only one world when I could rule two?" Megatron inquired. A Space-Bridge opened over the Omega Lock. Megatron pressed another button, and the Cyber-Matter erupted from the top. "No." Optimus whispered.
The Space-Bridge orbiting the Moon opened, and the Cyber-Matter beam jetted towards Earth.
June called Jack again. The area shook, making June gasp. She ran out of the garage and dropped her phone as Jack's voicemessage played. She saw the Cyber-Matter beam in the distance.
"Optimus, do you read? An unknown energy spike in Earth's atmosphere is crashing all my systems. Please tell me this is related to the activation of the Omega Lock." Ratchet whispered.
"If the Omega Lock can restore Cybertron, it'll do the same to Earth, right?" Miko asked. "No. It will cyberform your planet in favor of its new matrix. Destroying all indigenous life in the process." Optimus said dreadfully.
The Omega Lock showed no sign of slowing down. "Such raw power!" Megatron flashed his razor-sharp denta. "What should I call my new domain? New Kaon? Or perhaps Gilded Earth?" He asked. "No!" Elsa cried. "Leave our planet alone!" Miko yelled. Megatron, Knockout, and Starscream started laughing maniacally, and Soundwave laughed silently.
Optimus unsheethed his wrist blade and flung a Vehicon into Knockout. Megatron saw Optimus run for the Star Saber and blew other Vehicons away with a blue umbra wave. Megatron yelled as he grabbed his Dark Star Saber and ran at Optimus. Their blades clashed, filling the area with the power of Primus and Unicron again.
Megatron raised his Saber again, but Optimus cut his arm off. Taking the Saber, gun, and wrist sword with the desecrated arm of Liege Maximo. Megatron cried in agony. Soundwave and Knockout fired at Optimus, but he deflected them with the Star Saber. Starscream fired a missile, but Optimus moved aside.
He jumped on top of Starscream, and the Star Saber met the pedestal. Explosions erupted everywhere and the Omega Lock went up in a giant fireball. The Cyber-Matter beam ceased. The monitors came back online. "Optimus, can you read?" Ratchet asked. "Ratchet, please open a Space-Bridge." Optimus panted.
The Autobots covered their human friends as Optimus appeared through the thick smoke and mounted the Star Saber to his back and a portal opened. Arcee carried Jack, Elsa, and Anna's pods, and they all ran into the portal.
Starscream coughed and gasped when he saw the Omega Lock in ruins. "I guess we should cancel the welcome home part -" Starscream did not hesitate to punch Knockout away. "Attend to our master! He requires medical attention!" He ordered.
Knockout ran to Megatron. Starscream turned around as the portal closed. "Prime! You will pay for dooming Cybertron to remain a lifeless husk!" He yelled. Dark snickering filled the area and transitioned into sadistic laughter as Megatron stood up. "They can run, but they can never again run home." He said.
The Autobots slumped through the portal. "The children? What happened?" Rachet asked. Nobody said anything. "Somebody say something." Ratchet said. "Optimus destroyed the Omega Lock." Bulkhead said. "What? You did -" Ratchet started. "What was necessary. There was no time for another prolonged battle. Not with Earth in imminent danger." Optimus said.
"So you destroyed the only device in any universe capable of restoring our home? Optimus, we needed that." Ratchet said with a shaky voice.
"You weren't there, doc. And it's not your place to second-guess a battlefield decision." Smokescreen said.
"It most certainly is!" Ratchet snapped. "There had to be another way."
"It wasn't that simple, Ratchet." Jack said. "Megatron was using the Omega Lock to destroy Earth." Elsa said. "Optimus saved our planet." Miko said.
"What about our planet?! All of our struggles, and Energon spilled, and countless sacrifices for nothing?!" Ratchet angrily asked.
"Right decision or wrong, what's done is done. But we have another problem here on this world. The 'Cons just changed the rules when they put Jack, Miko, Raf, Elsa, and Anna into play." Arcee said.
The monitor beeped. "Prime! The Pentagon's prepare to go DEFCON 1. I need to know what we're dealing with." Agent Fowler said. "To what do you refer, Agent Fowler?" Optimus asked. "Maybe you should step outside and see for yourselves." Agent Fowler said.
"Ratchet, watch the children." Optimus said. The Autobots took the large elevator to the roof. They saw a giant metal building that reached into the clouds as Agent Fowler's helicopter landed, and he stepped out and quickly ran to them.
"Megatron has managed to accomplish the first phase of his cyberforming of Earth. The construction of his fortress." Optimus said. "In Jasper Nevada? I don't get it. I've already had the town evacuated, why here?" Agent said asked.
"Look!" Cyclonus said and pointed a digit at the sky near the fortress. The Nemesis descended from the clouds. "Because the Decepticons have discovered the location of our base." Optimus said.
Megatron stood above the flight deck with Knockout and Soundwave. "Our opportunity to revive Cybertron has been lost, due to the treachery of Optimus Prime! But from our fortress of New Kaon, we will instead seize control of this world! DECEPTICONS, TRANSFORM, AND RISE UP!" The warlord screamed at his army.
"I thought he'd never ask!" Starscream said. He and an army of grey Vehicons transformed and flew towards Autobot base. "Come, my armada! Attack, attack, ATTACK!" The Seeker commanded, and they all fired.
The Autobots returned fire as the Insecticons joined the fight. One collided with Bulkhead. Smokescreen shot some off the base. Optimus swung the Star Saber, and the umbra wave destroyed a swarm of Insecticons before Starscream, and his Seekers turned around and fired again. "Autobots, into the base!" Optimus commanded.
Bulkhead noticed Agent Fowler get in his chopper. "Fowler, what are you doing?" He asked. "My job, 2-ton." Agent Fowler said. The Autobots descended back into base as Agent Fowler flew towards the Decepticon horde. He fired his gatling gun.
The Vehicons flew past him and fired at the base, making it shake. "What's happening?" Elsa asked. "What is going on out there?" Ratchet asked as the Autobots entered. "The Decepticons have invaded Jasper." Optimus said. "And Fowler seems to think he can hold them off." Bulkhead said.
"Special Agent Fowler to Air Defense Command, I need immediate combat support." Agent Fowler said as Vehicons chased him. A shot hit the side of the helicopter, and then a group of Insecticons blocked him. "Come on, Air Defense Command." He said. The Insecticons were blasted out of the air before they could kill him. "I'll be triple-dipped." Agent Fowler said as Wheeljack in his ship joined the fight.
He blasted the Vehicons behind him. "Prime, reinforcements just arrived." Agent Fowler said. "Agent Fowler, your military cannot prevail against -" Optimus started. "You didn't think I was gonna let Team Prime have all the fun, did ya?" Wheeljack asked. "It's Jackie!" Bulkhead said.
"Wheeljack? But how did you -" Ratchet started. "Picked up a strange energy surge. Hope you don't mind the company." Wheeljack cut in. "No, it's just that after everything, well," Ratchet trailed off. "We're still on the same team, doc. Always will be." Wheeljack said and killed more Decepticons.
"Ratchet, prepare to bridge everyone out of here." Optimus said. "We're abandoning the base?" Ratchet asked. "The base is lost. Wheeljack and Agent Fowler can only buy us time to escape. Bumblebee, Rafael, you will depart first." Optimus said. "You're splitting us up?" Raf asked. "Shouldn't we stay together?" Elsa asked. "All for one and one for all?" Miko asked.
"We must disperse to avoid capture until we can regroup and launch a counter-attack. Survival is our only priority now." Optimus said.
An Insecticon chased Agent Fowler. He saw a Vehicon in front of him and lifted up. The smoke blinded the Decepticons, and they crashed into each other. "The day I'm outflown by a bunch of toasters is the day I -" He stopped when he saw the Nemesis approached the base. Megatron stood at the front of the warship.
Bee and Raf drove through the portal, and Ratchet changed the coordinates. "We haven't much time!" Optimus said as Chromia, Cyclonus, Jetfire, Arcee, and Bulkhead lined up next. Elsa and Anna rode with Jack on Arcee while Miko was inside Bulkhead.
Miko looked at the other three humans before she entered the portal. The coordinates changed once again as Jack he put his helmet on, and they entered.
June drove towards base and saw the Nemesis right above it. A Vehicon saw her and fired. June spun out of control and stopped as the Vehicon transformed in front of her. She honked her horn in fear. Agent Fowler shot down a Vehicon and saw June. "June?" He asked.
The Vehicon pointed its triangle-shaped cannon at June, but Agent Fowler shot it from behind. The Vehicon fell onto the hood of the car, and June watched its V-shaped optic go dark. June stepped out as Agent Fowler landed, and she ran for him.
Wheeljack kept killing Vehicons, but he didn't know that Starscream was chasing him. "You're scrap." He said and fired two rockets. Wheeljack saw them on his radar and turned, but the missiles hit the Jackhammer, and Wheeljack crashed behind base. "And that's how you wreck a Wrecker!" Starscream laughed and left.
Smokescreen saluted Optimus and left with Chromia, Jetfire, and Cyclonus. "What about you?" Ratchet asked. "I will ensure that the Decepticons cannot follow." Optimus said. Ratchet walked towards the portal. "I... never imagined it would end like this." He said and entered. "Neither did I, old friend." Optimus said and looked at the controls.
The belly of the Nemesis opened up, and a massive orbital laser formed. It started glowing red. June and Agent Fowler watched.
Optimus grabbed the Star Saber as the laser got brighter. Optimus raised the Saber. Megatron watched. Optimus created an umbra wave and destroyed the Ground-Bridge right as the laser fired, and explosions erupted everywhere as the base became a fireball.
"No!" June gasped. Agent Fowler looked away. Megatron created an ice slide and slid down to the remains of the Autobot base as Starscream followed and transformed.
They stood next to the Autobot symbol on the floor. "This is the place, alright." Starscream said. "This was the place." Megatron corrected. "United, we stand. Divided, they fall." Starscream said. Covered in rubble near them was Optimus' injured servo, sparking everywhere.
