Sound from the busy city was all Takashi could hear from the roof of Fujimi Academy. The sky was clear and the sun warmed him up significantly through my black school jacket, he didn't really care about the sun due to being too lost in his thoughts. Before he would sit here sulking and thinking over all his mistakes with his ex-girlfriend Miyamoto Rei and former best friend Igou Hisashi, that was before Takagi Saya, his childhood friend, snapped him out of all those depressing thoughts. After talking with her he finally realized that his infatuation with Miyamoto Rei was just an infatuation and desire for things to never change. His startling realization changed a lot of things in his life. He stopped skipping class and no longer felt resentment towards Miyamoto and Igou. In fact, they haven't talked in a month or more.

"That's enough reflection for a while, better head to class", Takashi muttered, shaking his head to get rid of his thoughts. He turned and started walking toward the door.

The door slammed open and a familiar beautiful purple-haired girl with blue eyes walked through looking upset. She then harshly shut the door with a lot of force. She suddenly stopped and looked at Takashi then looked to the side, Takashi assumed she must be embarrassed for being so emotional. Her familiar purple hair swayed slightly in the wind as she seemed to get lost in her thoughts like he did minutes ago.

"Are you alright?", Takashi asked calmly, not wanting to upset her even more. She turned to look at him and he instantly realized where he had seen such vibrant hair. She was Busujima Saeko, captain of the kendo club, one of the most popular and famous students at the academy. She narrowed hers and seemed to think about her response.

"No, I am not", she said blandly without much emotion. "I'm just tired of all these confessions from those that only want me for my body or money".

Thinking aloud Takashi stated, "So you have the same problem as Takagi-san". She looked at him in surprise and maybe a little confused. Bowing, he introduced himself, "My name is Komuro Takashi, a second year, and childhood friend of Takagi-san".

"I apologize for not introducing myself sooner Komuro-san, my name is Busujima Saeko", she bowed slightly.

He chuckled, "It's fine, do you want to sit and talk more about your problem".

Busujima nodded and went to sit near the fence with Takashi following closely behind. As they sat down, the two talked about how fake these people were and how obvious they were with their intentions. She mentioned how they always tried confessing despite never meeting her in person. Takashi explained about how Takagi always complained to him about all the greedy people that always confessed to her, about how they always stared at her lustfully or with greed in their eyes. Eventually the topic changed to their personal lives.

"So, she dumped you because apparently you wouldn't help with her problems despite the fact you were always asking them. Then she decided to get with your best friend almost immediately after",She remarked angrily, turning to face Takashi. Her blue eyes seemed darken with emotions that he couldn't quite place. She clenched her first as if she wanted to hit someone. She calmed herself and spoke, "My father always told me that communication was incredibly important for any relationship ".

"You're right", Takashi stated simply.

Busujima let out a breath, "You don't seem very upset".

He let out a short laugh, "I got over it".

"Good, she doesn't seem very worthy of your affection Komuro-san", she said with a slight head tilt.

"Please call me Takashi, Busujima-san", he replied firmly. "After talking about our lives we should be friends now".

She smiled brightly, much happier than before. "Alright, Takashi-kun, but you have to call me Saeko".

He returned her smile, "Alright, Saeko-chan. Though you might want to return to your classes. It would be a shame for a perfect student such as yourself to miss a grade".

She laughed freely, "I really don't want to return when I'm having a much better time talking to my only friend".

Takashi froze, "What about the kendo club and your classmates?"

"They don't care about me as a person, they care about what benefits I can bring them", She sadly stated. "A drawback of being popular I guess".

"You can always join the loner squad", Takashi jokes.

Saeko laughed again, "I suppose you might be the only member".

"You would be right", Takashi joked once more.

Takashi and Saeko spent hours joking and bonding with each other. They talked and talked, asking each other their opinion on multiple subjects. As they were having the day quickly went by and before they knew it the school day ended. The sun was setting and the wind began to pick up. The two looked at each other then quickly went through the door and walked down the stairs towards their respective classes to collect their things. Most students have already left which made getting to their classrooms far easier and faster. Takashi stopped at the gate waiting for his new friend to arrive when his mom called.

Takashi answered his phone, "Hello".

"Me and your father will be out on a date tonight so you will have to make something for yourself when you get home", his mother informed.

"Alright, thanks for informing mom", Takashi replied.

"Be safe on your way back, crime rates have risen lately", his mother stated, fully concerned.

Takashi was quick to reassure her, "I'll be fine and get home quickly".

"Takashi please stay, I'll see you when we get home", she stated. "Goodbye and again please stay safe".

"Goodbye", Takashi echoed back, ending the call.

Saeko's voice suddenly sounded from behind him, startling him. He quickly turned to look at her, there she was with the wind blowing through her hair and a look of amusement on her face, "Did I startle you Takashi-kun?".

Takashi quickly regained his bearings and nodded before replying with, "Saeko-chan, what did you say before you scared me half to death?".

"I was only curious about who you were talking to", Saeko replied with a grin.

Takashi put his phone in his pocket and buttoned up his jacket before replying, "My mother informed me that she and my father were going to dinner and warned me to hurry home due to crime rates rising".

Saeko stopped grinning upon hearing that bit of news, "I was unaware of the rise in crime".

"Yeah, surprised me too", Takashi replied. "It wouldn't sit right with me if you walked home alone, that's if you don't mind me walking you home?".

She looked surprised at the question before brushing a hair from her eye. She began to smile again before grabbing Takashi by the hand and leading him down the road with her bokken in the other. "I don't mind at all, there is strength in numbers. Besides, if push comes to shove I can use my bokken to harm anyone that tries to harm us".

Takashi smiled, happy to have a friend like her. Saeko to him was a very nice person that hadn't let her popularity get to her head, she was stubborn and was very witty at times. Not only was she an incredible person, she was also very talented and beautiful. Takashi could tell she would be able to achieve anything she set her mind to.

Saeko smiled as well, happy that she made a friend that saw her as a person. Takashi was very kind despite his rather delinquent appearance and the rumors that she overheard during club hours. He puts himself down too much, she can tell that he has a lot of potential for a bright future, he just lacks a goal.

By the time the two Fujimi students arrived at the Busujima household the sun had already set and the street lights turned on. Saeko and Takashi approached the front door before they let go of each other's hands. Saeko turned to him, "Takashi-kun, can you hand me your phone?".

Takashi handed his phone with a look of curiosity. Saeko grabbed the phone before she pulled her phone out and began inputting something into his. Takashi decided to voice his curiosity, "May I ask what you're doing Saeko-chan?".

"I'm giving you my phone number and saving yours in mine", Saeko stated. She handed him his phone back then began saving his phone number into hers. She unlocked the door, turned to him and smiled one more time, "See you tomorrow Takashi-kun".

Takashi smiled, "See you tomorrow Saeko-chan".

Saeko turned once more and entered her home. Takashi turned as well and began walking home in the dark, quickly making his way home and avoiding alley ways. When he arrived one of the cars wasn't home, seeing this Takashi assumed that his parents were still out eating. Takashi grabbed his keys from his pockets, unlocked the door, and went inside.

It was 7:30 AM when Saeko woke up. She got up and grabbed a clean school outfit before taking a shower. After her shower, she dried herself and brushed her hair before putting on her clean outfit. It was 8:03 AM when she began to make her lunch for the day. When she was done she put her food in her lunch box and put it in her bag, she grabbed the bag and bokken before leaving her house.

It took awhile to reach the school but when she arrived immediately began looking around for Takashi. She didn't find him near the entrance or entering the school.

"Saeko-chan!", Saeko quickly turned around to see Takashi waving at her happily alongside a girl with long pink hair tied into two ponytails. The pink-haired girl looked like she was angry at him or maybe embarrassed.

Saeko quickly made her way to Takashi and greeted him, "Hello Takashi-kun! I assume this is your friend Takagi-san".

Takagi Saya scowled at Takashi, "I keep telling you to call me by my first name. At this point I'm beginning to think you're doing it purposely to upset me!".

Takashi wrapped an arm around her shoulder before replying, "It took you this long to figure it out". Saya began glaring at him harshly. "So much for the so-called genius".

Saya elbowed him in the stomach causing Takashi to fall over in pain pleading for mercy. Saeko brought her hand to her mouth to stifle a laugh unsuccessfully. Saya turned to her, "Don't mind this idiotic baka. He jokes way too often for his own good".

"I don't mind at all Takagi-san. In fact, I like his easy going personality", Saeko replied after regaining her composure. "It is nice to meet you in person Takagi-san, Takashi-kun told me about how intelligent you are".

Saya blushed slightly at the compliment, " Nice to meet you as well Busujima-san. I heard you are rather talented with the blade. Though I am rather surprised you became friends with Takashi-kun".

Saeko began smiling at Takashi, who at this point stopped acting injured and was watching the two interact, she then turned to Saya. "It was a chance meeting but I'm rather glad it happened".

She then grabbed Takashi's hand, Takashi squeezed her hand in return. The two stood there smiling at each other while Saya looked surprised. Saya wasn't the only one who was rather surprised at how close they were, the other students were staring in surprise. At this point it's only a matter of time before everyone starts talking.
