Author's Notes: Hi, readers. Here's chapter twenty-eight of "Running From Here." This chapter has Ranger action. I am glad to have finally gotten to do this after not doing it for a while. This crossover has three or four more chapters before it is finished. Stay tuned for chapter twenty-nine.

Chapter 28: The Control Room/Ambushed Outside
The entire group reached the windows outside the control room within five minutes. It stopped close to the door. Penny and Princess chirped in much curiosity while looking around. Ellie and Ian touched their necks after going to them. John approached it and touched the doorknob. Alan walked up to him. He touched his friend's shoulder.
"The door was locked when we escaped the island, John," Alan said, blinking twice.
"I forgot to tell you, but this door unlocked after a few hours," John responded, looking at him.
"No way!" Lex yelled in amazement.
"That means we will be able to get into the Command Center's computers even more quickly!" Tim yelled excitedly.
"Calm down, Timmy," Zack warned in a stern voice. He held up a finger as he raised his eyebrows. "We don't want to attract any unfriendly dinosaurs in here."
Tim cringed a bit. "Sorry, Zack."
"That's all right, little man," Zack assured with a smile.
"That's my nickname for him," John commented while glancing at him.
Lex giggled. "My grandfather has got you there."
Zack held up his hands, looking away. John turned back to the doorknob and exhaled in a sharp manner. He turned it slowly. He opened the door, the hinges squeaking slightly. He held it as Alan, Ellie, Ian, Tim, Lex, and Zack headed inside. Billy and Trini went to the Velociraptors.
"Stand guard outside," Billy said while gesturing at the door.
"Do you think you two can do that?" Trini asked. She smiled when Penny and Princess seemed to purr in agreement. "We thought so."
"Sound the alarm if you see any of Zedd's goons," Billy ordered sternly. "Do not let them get into this room. It could take a while to hack into those computers."
"We can't risk them getting the survivors before we can teleport them out," Trini added.
Penny and Princess nudged the Blue and Yellow Rangers in their chests gently. They felt them grip their snouts in a very light manner. Billy and Trini released their hold on them. They headed into the room. John closed the door behind him. Billy approached the first computer. He unlatched his helmet, taking it off. He laid it on the desk before sitting down in the chair. He touched the mouse and moved it, but the screen did not come on. Alan, Ellie, Ian, Lex, and Tim gathered around him.
"What's wrong with the computer?" Alan wondered.
"I am not sure," Billy said, still moving the mouse. "I thought moving the mouse would trigger the screen to come on. My computer goes to sleep when I don't touch it for a good while."
Lex went to his side. "Let me try."
Billy removed his hand from the mouse. Lex touched it and moved it around a few times. She sighed heavily while shaking her head in disbelief. She cupped her chin in her hand.
"The computer might be off," Lex suggested.
"I am sure a storm knocked out the power at some point," Ian commented, seriousness lining his voice.
"Most likely, Ian," John agreed. "The outage didn't last long. However, it switched off all the computers."
"Who knows when that happened?" Zack said while clasping his hands together.
"Where is the button to switch the computer on, Lex?" Billy wondered while curling his hand into a fist.
"It's right here," Lex responded, touching the button below the screen. She pressed it, causing the computer to boot up. "There we go."
"Thanks, Lex," Billy said, chuckling softly.
"You're welcome," Lex said, nodding at him. She glanced toward the Velociraptors. She could see they were looking around and sniffing at the air. "Penny and Princess are definitely remaining alert."
"Dinosaurs have excellent senses of smell, sight, and hearing. They can detect sounds and scents up to a mile away," John pointed out.
"Let's hope those buttheads don't get inside the Visitor Center and see Billy trying to hack into the Command Center's computers," Trini said, fear lining her voice.
"You've been watching too much of the Back to the Future trilogy, Trini," Zack said, rolling his eyes.
"Yes," Trini said, nodding fast.
"When we watch it again, I will put a sock in your mouth if you repeat any quotes from it," Zack warned sternly.
"Do it," Trini threatened with a smirk. "I dare you. In fact, I double dare you to do it."
Zack ran his tongue all over the inside of his mouth. He walked over to the broken window. He stopped a short distance from the shattered glass on the floor.
"This is where one of the Velociraptors broke through this window," Zack said, looking over his shoulder at the others.
"It was Kim who did that," Alan said, coming to the Black Ranger's side. He eyed him carefully. "She was enraged Lex had managed to reboot the system and barricade the door."
"She actually leapt onto the desk containing the computers. She could've damaged them, but she didn't," Ellie added.
"She poked her head through that part of the ceiling," Alan said while pointing his finger in the hole in the ceiling.
Zack glanced toward it. "Whoa."
"She scared the crud out of me. I nearly fell down after Dr. Grant kicked her in the face," Lex admitted, chuckling humorlessly. "I could've been breakfast for her if it hadn't been for his quick reaction."
"It is important to remain calm in any situation. Panicking can cause people to make irrational decisions," Trini commented.
"Like rushing into danger," John added.
"Exactly," Zack agreed with a nod. "Being brave doesn't mean you aren't scared. You are facing your fears."
Tim glanced at the phone. "We could phone the mainland for help, but a helicopter would run right into the force field and explode if it tried to come."
"It sucks, but what can we do?" Lex asked, giving a shrug. "Missiles can't destroy magical force fields."
Billy started typing on the keyboard once the computer was fully booted up. He whispered inaudible words as the others looked on.

Rexy and Mia scanned their surroundings while standing outside the building. They snorted, their eyes narrowing a bit. Tommy tapped his foot twice before digging the heel of his boot into the ground. Jason moved his head from side to side. This stretched his neck. Kim crossed her arms, a somewhat impatient sigh coming from her.
"I hope it doesn't take long for Billy to get into the Command Center's computers," Kim said uncertainly.
"When we heard Velociraptors, we were ready to rush inside and confront them. Then we heard Billy and Trini talking to them," Jason added and touched the back of his neck with both hands.
"Mr. Hammond called them Penny and Princess," Tommy said, his hand curling into a fist.
"Do you think a storm knocked out power to parts of the island for a time, Tommy?" Kim asked curiously.
"I believe so," Tommy admitted. "Dr. Grant told me that he, Dr. Malcom, Mr. Gerrano, Lex, and Tim weren't at the Tyrannosaurus Paddock for very long when Rexy broke out. They couldn't even radio for help as the cars were connected to the control room. He thought he touched something when his and Dr. Malcom's car came to a sudden halt."
"I don't blame the guy. He and Dr. Malcom didn't think the car would suddenly stop," Jason commented.
Suddenly, rustling came out of nowhere. Rexy and Mia jerked their heads upward. They rumbled alarmingly and looked at the White, Pink, and Yellow Rangers. Jason walked up to see Rexy, his breathing becoming a little fast. She looked down at him.
"What is it, Rexy?" Jason asked in concern.
"Danger is nearby. I do not know what it is," Rexy answered and looked toward three bushes. "I believe it is coming from over there."
Jason pointed his finger at the ground. "You and Mia better stay here."
Rexy growled. "Okay."
Jason went over to Tommy and Kim. He balled his hands into fists, his breathing slowing down a bit.
"Rexy said something is likely hiding in those bushes," Jason said while jerking his thumb in the direction of the bushes.
"Okay, Jase," Tommy responded.
Kim exhaled. "Let's stay together."
Tommy, Kim, and Jason made their way toward the bushes. They scanned their surroundings, yet they couldn't see anything. Their breathing was rather soft and steady. They could feel their heartrates speeding up quite a bit. It appeared as if their hearts were about to leap out of their chests and land on the ground next to them.
Tommy, Kim, and Jason stopped close to the bushes. They narrowed their eyes at them. They saw movement in them and took slow yet even breaths. They went toward them carefully. Just then, Squatt and Baboo came out from behind them. They appeared to be nervous. The White, Pink, and Red Rangers put their hands on their hips, giving them weird looks.
"Well, well, if it isn't Squatt and Baboo! Of all places, you end up in the bushes near the Visitor Center in Jurassic Park!" Kim said with a shake of her head.
"Talk about wild," Tommy added with a chuckle.
"What happened? Did Rita and Zedd finally decide to get rid of you?" Jason asked, an eyebrow raising.
"You could say that," Squatt gibbered.
"However, looks can be deceiving!" Baboo pointed out.
All of a sudden, three Putties pounced on Tommy, Kim, and Jason from behind, gibbering loudly. Tommy elbowed the first Putty in the stomach. He turned around and punched it in the face. He jammed his thumbs into its eyes. It rubbed at them frantically. Garbles and gibbers came from it. He grabbed its throat, throwing it into the air. It hit its head on the wall above the door. It fell to the ground.
Kim elbowed the second Putty in the face. She spun around and punched it in the stomach three times. She grabbed its arm with a fierce snarl. She went under them, twisting it around. She got the other one. She leapt over its head, landing behind it and throwing it into the air. It went flying, colliding with a tree. It fell to the ground in which it landed on its back. It emitted a loud groan before leaning its head off to the side.
Jason swung his leg upward, nailing the third Putty in the groan. It let go of him with a loud groan. He turned around and delivered five uppercuts to the neck. He chopped it in the same area. He grabbed its arm and looked toward the bushes. He looked at it with a smirk. He twirled it around five times before letting go of it. It hit the first bush, flipping over and landing on its back. Tommy and Kim came to their friend's side.
The Putties jumped to their feet very quickly. They garbled angrily and rushed toward their targets. Tommy, Kim, and Jason punched them in their chests. The Putties stumbled backward, falling on their backs. They fell to pieces. Tommy, Kim, and Jason laughed in great delight. They gave each other high-fives and fists bumps.
"Nice job, you two," Tommy complimented.
"No problem," Kim said, giving him a thumbs-up.
"That's right," Jason agreed.
The trio did not see three Putties coming up behind them. Rexy rushed toward them, leaning down and grabbing the first Putty in her jaws. She lifted it upward, shaking it from side to side rapidly. It fell to pieces. She stepped on the second Putty as it charged at her. She removed her foot and picked it up after leaning down. She shook it violently, and it fell apart. She let out a triumphant roar.
Mia stared at the third Putty. It curled his hands into fists, garbles and gibbers coming from it. They encircled, neither one daring to look away from the other. It charged toward her, as did she with it. She rammed her horn through its chest once they reached each other. She shook her head from side to side. It fell to pieces quickly. Tommy, Kim, and Jason laughed and jumped into the air. They landed gracefully.
"Nice job, you two!" Tommy said.
"You just—" Jason started.
Without warning, Rexy and Mia were hit in the sides of their heads with energy balls. They fell on their sides, losing consciousness. The White, Pink, and Red Rangers gasped in horror. They spotted Scorpina coming into view. Squatt and Baboo came to her side as they stopped close to their enemies. The Putties gathered around them.
"Hello, Power Punks!" Scorpina shouted and laughed evilly. "You were such fools to be drawn to Squatt and Baboo. They were the perfect bait."
"We sure are!" Squatt agreed.
"You are fools if you think we will let you escape this island!" Scorpina said, pointing her sword at the trio.
Jason snarled. "Oh, we will get off this island!"
Tommy gritted his teeth. "Let's get them!"
Tommy, Kim, and Jason rushed at Scorpina, who charged her sword with energy and threw it at them. They got hit and flew backward, hitting the ground hard. They looked up just in time to see Scorpina rushing at them. Tommy and Kim aimed their fists for her head, but she blocked them with her arms. She performed a double backhand. They stumbled, yet they remained standing.
Scorpina attempted a double punch on the White and Pink Rangers. Tommy and Kim held up their arms, blocking her easily. They gave her kicks to her stomach and punches to her face. They jumped and did a double dropkick on her. She flew through the air and slammed her head on a tree. She sank to the ground, a loud groan coming from her. They went to deal with two Putties charging at them.
Jason tossed a Putty aside and backflipped as another leapt at him. Two Putties grabbed him. Another one proceeded to give him punches to his stomach. He kicked it in the chest, and it broke into pieces. He broke free of its companions and delivered punches to their faces. They garbled angrily and gave him kicks to his stomach. This knocked the wind out of him. They started beating on him with their fists. Tommy and Kim raced in and swept their feet out from underneath them with a swing of their arms. They looked at Jason, who returned to his full height.
"You okay, Jase?" Tommy asked.
"Yeah. Thanks, guys," Jason answered.
Without warning, six Putties ambushed Jason, Tommy, and Kim. They beat on their quarry with their fists. Jason grabbed the arms of the first two Putties and smacked them together. He performed a jump, throwing them into the air as he landed. The Putties landed in the bushes. They rolled out of them with loud groans. They grabbed their heads.
Kim performed a spinning heel kick on the next two Putties in which she nailed them in their faces. She punched them in their stomachs. She backhanded them across their faces. She leapt over their heads and bounced off a lamppost. She kicked them in their backs, sending them barreling into the wall next to the doors. She landed gracefully before balling her hand into a fist.
Tommy nailed the noses of the last two Putties with his fists. He took their arms and twisted them around. He went under them. They tried to pull away from him, but they had no luck. He flipped them over on their backs. He jammed his elbow into each of their chests, causing them to fall apart. He, Jason, and Kim dove for the ground when energy flew their way. They jumped up and stared at Scorpina.
"You missed, Scorpina!" Jason blurted out.
"I may have, but I will finish you!" Scorpina screeched.
Kim hissed. "Come and get us. We dare you."
Scorpina clenched her teeth and charged at the trio. Tommy, Kim, and Jason responded in kind. They proceeded to fight her.
