Chapter One: Blood Flows
Winifred Burkle was infected with something.
The L.A. gang had yet to learn what it was and needed extra guidance. Spike had an unique relationship with Fred and wanted to help. While the gang discussed ways to help her, Spike formulated a different plan. Spike looked at Angel and said,
"I think I know someone who can help. We should talk to Giles."
"Go, do that. Report back." Angel demanded.
Spike nodded and grabbed his cell phone. He dialed Rupert Giles and waited for an answer.
"Hello?" Giles picked up.
"Giles, it's me, Spike." He replied.
"Spike?" Giles repeated with disdain and surprise. "What do you want?"
"One of our friends has been infected with something," Spike told him. "We don't know what it is and I was wondering if you could come to L.A and help us."
"Spike, I have pressing concerns in Cleveland." Giles lied. "I do not think that now is a good time for me to come to L.A."
"What about Willow or Buffy?" Spike asked with desperation in his voice. "Please, you have to send someone to come help us."
"No, Buffy hates you," Giles lied and sighed heavily. "She won't come to L.A to help. Neither will we."
Anger filled his veins. Buffy hated him? Since when?! When did this happen?! Spike was furious. How could Giles not help?! Or send someone else to help?! Spike couldn't believe what was happening. Winifred was dying and no one could help her! What the hell was going on?! Spike picked up the phone and dialed Buffy's cell. He needed to talk to her.
"Hello?" Buffy answered.
"Buffy?" Spike snapped. His voice was mean and harsh. He clenched his fists. "Buffy, are you there?"
"I'm here," Buffy replied. "Is this Spike?"
"Yeah, Giles said you hate us and don't want to help." Spike spat. "Is that true? I could understand why you hate me, but not wanting to help Fred is cruel!"
"Spike, I have no idea what you're talking about-" Buffy was interrupted.
"After everything we've been through, how could you say no Buffy?" Spike asked, clearly hurt. "How could you say you hate us?!"
"Spike, really…" Buffy started to say something, but she was interrupted again.
"You think that after I help you save the world I would be treated with respect down there, but you treat me like I'm nothing!" Spike yelled. "Why would you not come here and help an innocent-" He stopped yelling. "If you don't care about me, then fine. I thought you would at least help someone innocent." He paused. "Maybe you're not the person I thought you were…" Spike sighed heavily. "If you're not going to help then I don't want anything to do with you."
He hung up before she could respond. Spike walked back to Angel's office. He was furious and hurt. He looked at Angel and shook his head.
"They aren't going to help," Spike reported.
"What?!" Angel asked and clenched his fists. "What do you mean? What did they say?"
"Giles said that Buffy hated us and now is not a good time," Spike told him. "I called Buffy to see what was happening, but she is not on our side."
"What?!" Angel repeated. "How could they not help?! I get why they wouldn't want to help me, but it's not about that. It's about-"
"I know, I know," Spike said, shaking his head.
Meanwhile, Buffy was stunned. She had no idea what Spike was talking about and he wouldn't give her the chance to respond. What on earth was going on? She wondered. Buffy was upset and needed to know what was happening. She felt something deep was going on and needed to see it for herself. Buffy grabbed a bag and some clothes. She left the house without telling anyone, determined, and on a mission.
She found bus tickets and was on her way to the bus stop when she got the feeling that someone was hunting her. No, something was hunting her. Buffy dropped her bag and looked around. She sensed something. What was it? Then, something jumped her. Buffy screamed and she noticed it was a vampire. The vampire pinned her down and took off her clothes. Buffy closed her eyes and fought like hell, but this vampire was so strong. She felt like she was going to die. She didn't want to go back to Heaven.
Her friends would just pull her out again. Buffy struggled against the vampire and he bit her neck. Buffy screamed in pain and looked around for help. When there was no one around her, she knew she was going to die. Instead, Buffy had another idea. She bit his hand and the vampire shrieked in shock. Blood flowed down her throat. She wasn't going to die. She was going to come back as a vampire. The vampire slapped her across the face and yelled,
"What have you done?!"
Buffy could feel the life force draining from her body. Her heart slowed and she was dead. The vampire shook his head and picked up her body. He carried her to the graveyard and buried her. It took the whole day, but Buffy came back as a vampire. The next night, she awakened. She opened her newfound yellow eyes and touched her face. She was in shock. Buffy realized that she was in the dirt and needed to get out.
The bugs crawled all around her. Buffy struggled and wiggled against the dirt, stretching her arms and legs to get out. She popped one of her arms out of the grave and stretched some more. Someone grabbed her hand. They pulled her out of the grave and Buffy was shocked to see that it was the vampire that attacked her.
"Who are you?"
"Right to the point," the vampire grinned. "My name is Terrance Paul Jackson and I am your Sire."
"You attacked me!" Buffy screamed. "Why did you do that?!"
"Because it is my nature," Terrance explained. "Why did you bite my hand?"
"I didn't want to die," Buffy said. "But I wanted to come back and finish what I started."
"What you started?" Terrance repeated.
"Before you attacked and killed me, I was on my way to L.A." Buffy explained. "I have unfinished business there."
Terrance grinned. "Would you like some assistance?"
Buffy thought about it for a moment. She would need all the help she could get. She decided that it was best that Terrance, her Sire, come with her. She nodded and they went to his vehicle. Terrance got into the car with Buffy and drove to L.A. During the drive there, it was quiet between the two of them. Buffy was still furious that he attacked her, but that was in the past. Now the two of them could go to L.A. and figure out the rest later.
"Where are we going?" Terrance asked.
"Wolfram and Hart." Buffy told him.
Terrance shrugged. "Never heard of them before." He answered honestly.
"They are lawyers from what I understand that work with the supernatural," Buffy explained.
"Hmm," Terrance said.
The rest of the drive was quiet. Buffy was still unsure of how she felt about her Sire. She felt like her old self. She felt like she still knew right from wrong even though she was a vampire. This was all so strange. This man physically attacked her and now he was acting like her best friend. How did this happen? Buffy wondered. Once they arrived at Wolfram and Hart, they parked the car.
Terrance followed Buffy's lead since he had no idea where he was going. Once inside, the building was immediately notified that vampires had entered the premises. Angel and Spike walked out of the office and they looked shocked. Buffy and Terrance were both in vampire mode. Angel's mouth dropped.
"Buffy?"
"Hello, Angel," Buffy said. "Hello, Spike."
Spike's mouth dropped as well. He was hurt that she was a vampire and with another vampire. What the hell was going on? He wondered. He was incredibly upset.
Author's Notes: This was a quick idea that I had to get out of my head with the help of Datia. Thank you so much for this request and I can't wait to post more! I will flush things out as I go. All reviews are welcome!
