The sun hung high above the dense forest as Team Seven gathered beneath the towering trees, the atmosphere thick with anticipation. Kakashi stood in front of his three students, a single bell dangling from his hand.
"Today, you will take part in a test," Kakashi announced casually, his eye scanning over his team. "Your goal is simple: get the bell from me. If you fail, you won't be eating lunch today."
Naruto smirked at the challenge. No problem, he thought, his eyes glinting with determination. This'll be fun.
Sasuke's expression hardened, his stance already poised for action. Sakura, though still unsure, squared her shoulders and nodded, ready to do whatever it took.
Kakashi gave them a few moments to prepare, his arms folded. "You have until noon," he said, the sun's light filtering through the canopy above. "The only rule is: you can't just take the bell by force. You'll need to be smart, work together, and figure out how to outmaneuver me."
Sasuke's eyes flicked to Naruto for just a moment before he turned and darted off into the trees. Sakura hesitated but followed him quickly, her movements a little less graceful. Naruto, however, stood still, his eyes narrowing on Kakashi.
I'll prove it. I'll show them all that I'm not just some teammate.
With a slow, deliberate step forward, Naruto's chakra swirled around him, a pulsing energy that seemed to reach out into the air. Kakashi's eye twitched as he took note of Naruto's actions.
"You don't plan to wait for them, do you?" Kakashi asked lazily, though his eye held a glimmer of interest.
Naruto's lips curled into a smirk. "I don't need them. I'll take you down on my own."
Kakashi chuckled under his breath, his hand still holding the bell loosely. "Very well, then."
In a flash, Naruto launched himself forward, his feet barely touching the ground as he surged through the air. He pulled a handful of kunai from his pouch, hurling them directly at Kakashi with unerring accuracy.
Kakashi raised an eyebrow but moved with effortless speed, dodging the projectiles with a simple lean to the side. The kunai hit the trees behind him, embedding themselves in the bark.
Before Kakashi could react further, Naruto was already in motion. He slapped his hands together in a quick series of seals.
"Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!"
The air itself seemed to heat as a massive fireball erupted from Naruto's mouth, launching straight toward Kakashi. Kakashi's visible eye widened slightly at the speed of the attack, but he calmly flipped backward to avoid the flames, landing lightly on a branch several meters away.
Naruto wasn't finished.
"Water Style: Water Dragon Jutsu!"
In a smooth motion, Naruto exhaled, summoning a massive water dragon that surged toward Kakashi like a tidal wave. Kakashi's eyes flicked to the dragon, and in a flash, he swiped his hand in a wide arc. A gust of wind split the dragon's trajectory, forcing it to collide with the ground and dissipate into a massive cloud of mist.
But Naruto was already there, his body cloaked in the blackened form of his Boros transformation. The skin that had turned jet black was now rippling with energy, his muscles swelling with unnatural power. His eyes glowed faintly with an eerie light as chakra poured from him like a raging storm.
Kakashi's calm expression faltered only for a moment, sensing the immense power emanating from Naruto.
Naruto grinned, the transformation not just a physical change but a surge of raw destructive potential. "Chakra Beam!" he shouted, pointing directly at Kakashi.
A thin beam of dark energy erupted from the mark on Naruto's chest, crackling with intense, raw power. The beam pierced through the air, cutting through the trees and heading straight for Kakashi. Kakashi's Sharingan activated, but even as he moved to avoid the beam, Naruto shifted mid-air and fired a second beam in a split-second decision.
Kakashi barely dodged, but the edge of the second beam grazed his shoulder, a searing pain shooting through him. He landed lightly, his breath steady despite the attack.
"You're faster than I thought," Kakashi said, his voice tinged with respect.
Naruto's expression twisted in a cold sneer. "Faster? I'm beyond that. This is just the beginning."
With a single hand seal, Naruto summoned several dozen clones—Shadow Clones. They burst into existence around him, each one armed and ready. They fanned out, surrounding Kakashi from all sides.
Kakashi's eye twitched. He had seen this tactic before, but the sheer number of clones made it much more difficult to counter.
"I'm done playing." Naruto's voice was low, almost chilling.
He was already rushing forward, his clones mimicking his every move. With one hand, Naruto created a massive fist of rock and earth, hurling it toward Kakashi, while another clone summoned a wind-based jutsu to slice at him. A third clone, faster than the rest, charged Kakashi with a kunai drawn.
Kakashi's Sharingan spun rapidly as he assessed the oncoming barrage. "Impressive," he muttered, before leaping backward and creating a clone of his own to intercept one of the Naruto clones. He rapidly formed hand signs. "Fire Style: Phoenix Fire Jutsu!"
Fire erupted in a burst of flame, heading straight for Naruto's clones, burning them to nothing in a blink.
But Naruto wasn't done.
With a flick of his wrist, his clones exploded in a burst of smoke, each one transforming into explosive tags that detonated in rapid succession. Kakashi dodged, but he was forced to move more frantically now, his attention split between the explosion and the real Naruto, who was moving in at lightning speed.
"Chidori!" Kakashi shouted, charging up the infamous jutsu in his right hand.
But Naruto wasn't just charging in blindly. As Kakashi's Chidori crackled to life, Naruto shifted, his speed only increasing. In an instant, he was behind Kakashi, landing a powerful chakra-charged kick to his back, sending Kakashi crashing into the ground.
Kakashi rolled quickly to his feet, eyes wide with realization. "You… you're even stronger than I thought."
Naruto stood there, his Boros form fading, his expression cold. "Told you." He cracked his knuckles, his voice low and steady. "You're not on my level. And you never will be."
Kakashi smiled beneath his mask, though his eyes showed a flicker of concern. He was testing Naruto, but this fight was different—Naruto's power was alien, almost otherworldly. He couldn't deny it anymore.
"You passed the test," Kakashi said, his voice tinged with respect. "But remember, strength isn't everything. You'll need to work with others. Teamwork is what really makes a great ninja."
Naruto scoffed, a smirk playing on his lips. "I'll be the only one who matters. I don't need anyone else."
Kakashi's eye softened as he watched Naruto, the boy who might be destined for greatness, or ruin. Only time would tell.
