You don't have to go very far before you catch up to Amy. "Hey Ames!" you manage to catch her by the shoulder.

She violently shrugs you off. "Leave me alone, Sonic!"

She stomps off again, but you're right on her heels. "Come on, wait… Hear me out."

She stops and violently spins around to face you. "Why?" she shouts, "So you can continue to humiliate me? So you can talk down to me and keep hurting my feelings? Maybe you don't have any respect for me, but I have enough respect for myself to not let you insult me anymore!"

Amy tries to leave again, but you take her by the arm. "Amy, I didn't mean to hurt you."

Amy faces away from you. "Gee, you have a funny way of showing it."

"Really," you assure her, "I care about you too much. Maybe I am a little harsh on you at times. It's just…" You glance to the side, "I'm not… exactly… well, romantic. Not like you, anyway…"

Amy casts her eyes downward. "I'm not this romantic to just anyone you know," she mutters, "Can't you be flattered at the fact that you're the only person I care this much about?"

You rub your arm shyly. "I am. Really," you reply, "Sometimes, though, it's just a bit much… I get you like me. But you know me, I'm always on the go. I can't stay put and be smothered."

"I'm not trying to smother you!" Amy protests.

"Well, sometimes it feels like that."

Amy gives a low sigh. "Sonic… I'm sorry. I guess I am a pest, then."

"No… you're not." You take a hold of Amy's hand. "You're strong. Really strong. Maybe a little TOO strong at times…" You then flash a charming grin, "But sometimes I'm too cocky. Sometimes Tails talks too much. Sometimes Knuckles is a little too gullible."

Amy smiles at you. "So… You don't hate me?" she asks meekly.

You smile warmly. "How could I ever hate you? You're the sweetest, caring, most diligent girl I ever met. And one of my best friends."

At that, Amy suddenly jumps on you, wrapping her arms tightly around your waist. "Oh Sonic!"

"Arggh…!" you moan, "But Amy…. Seriously! You could stand to tone it down a notch!"

Amy loosens her grip. "Oh… Sorry." She looks up at you mischievously, "So in other words, you want me to 'slow down'?"

You pull away and rub your aching sides. "Maybe…"

"That's SO not you, Sonic!" Amy laughs and goes in for another glomp. This time, however, you're all too ready for her, and jump away and make a mad dash down the hall. Amy is close on your tail, but you're humored by it, and you both give out a laugh.

After a little running around, you see Amy falls back with a yawn and heads another direction. Must be tired and heading in by now.
