"Claw….eek!" Marinette shrieked playfully as she found herself in a small cold rain shower, with Claw's arm around her waist. "Its not mean who needs watering, its my flowers!" Claw grinned, turning the spray to a mist.
"I love you and all, but you really are naughty," Marinette giggled, wringing out her wet T-shirt. Claw shot her an innocent look. "I just thought, if we watered you, you'd grow too!"
"Hey, I'm not short, I'm fun-sized. And no, I am not giving up my Starbucks!" Cat grinned, violet eyes twinkling. "Woe to person who tries to stop you." "Will you be okay up here on your own for a few? No zoomies?"
Claw pulled his face into a pout. "Your leaving me? Princess, how will I go on?" "Drama King," she sang. "I'm just changing after someone watered me, and maybe getting a snack."
"I shall be good," Claw said, brandishing the hose. Marinette leaped back. "Back in a few."
Claw sighed, giving the roses they'd planted together a good long drink, their sweet fragrance wafting into his nose. It was beautiful and peaceful up here in the flowers, and Marinette was the sweetest girl.
At home, he felt so alone, but here, his heart felt full. Claw carefully rolled up the hose, and flopped into the pink deck chair.
As much as the partners had crushes on each other, they still had yet to kiss. Oh, thorns and roses, his palms begin sweat just thinking of it. Should he ask or should he surprise her? If only she wasn't so cute!
But if asked her, he'd chicken out, so surprise it was. His heart bumped around in his chest as she re-emerged, now dry in a off-the-shoulder black and white estimable and carrying a tray of lemonade and gingerbread cookies.
"Princess?" he croaked. Great, he sounded like a frog. Hm, maybe a frog would be easier? "Yes?" Now or never, Claw thought, pulling her close, tipping her back and planting a kiss on her lips.
Marinette was surprised at first, but she melted in his arms. Just then, another blast of cold water covered them.
"Claw! The hose!" Laughing, they ran to shut off the hose, happy, wet, and in love.
