Disclaimer: I do not own Sofia the First.

The cool night air caressed Sofia's face as she landed behind the castle, quickly dismounting from Skye's back.

"Thanks for your help again today," she said, stroking his mane.

"Not at all my princess," he beamed proudly. "And many happy returns again on your birthday."

"Would you like to stay for the party?"

"I'd love to," eyes lighting up. "But I promised the mare in the mist a moonlight stroll at the isle of crystals."

She giggled, "Well you better not keep her waiting then."

He ascended back up into the evening sky, Sofia waving him off as he disappeared into the clouds.

"There you are."

She gasped, turning around and heaving in relief.

"Cedric," she chuckled, releasing her earlier tension. "You startled me!"

"Well, now you know how it feels," grinning as she laughed. "Arrived just in time for your party, eh?"

"Yeah... I probably shouldn't keep everyone waiting." Starting inside when he held out a hand to stop her.

"Just a moment. I think the birthday girl is in need of a change of attire," Then with a wave of his wand, a swirl of magic encircled the princess leaving her in a beautiful gown of soft yellow, with white and lilac accents.

"Oh!" she cooed. "It's beautiful!"

"Well, if you like it be sure to thank your sister. She designed the thing; and Madame Collette, who made it."

"So you were just playing the role of my fairy god mother?" she guessed with a grin.

A crooked smile was his response, "I suppose you could say that." Finishing the assemble off with a golden tiara. "Though I assure you that these won't turn into rags at midnight."

She laughed, "That's good to know."

"All ready then?" he asked, offering his arm to her.

She took it, asking "You'll be sure to dance with me this evening, won't you?"

"Well, considering it's your birthday, I suppose I'll have to indulge that request," trying to sound resigned. Though the playful smirk he gave, indicated he was much happier about the idea than he pretended to let on.

"Good," she declared. "Because as much as I like you being my fairy god mother. I think I'd much prefer you as my prince." A teasing smile now on her own face, as she watched him sputter and turn bright red.
