~Morningdrop and Lunatail 3

Chapter 4

The three of them woke up behind stone bars in a small, cramped cell. Starla was chained up to a wall, with chains around all her sparks. Dewdrop and Emmie were free to roam the cell, but obviously couldn't because of the size.

'Why is Starla locked up!? Shouldn't she be able to move, like us!? This isn't fair! Poor Starla! I AM OUTRAGED!' Emmie screamed in frustration.

'She's locked up and can't move BECAUSE of her melty face magic, that could destory the chains if there wasn't some weird thing stopping her from using it! And yes it is TOTALLY unfair, and yes poor Starla, AND I AM ALSO OUTRAGED SO PLEASE, WILL YOU SHUT UP ALREADY!?' Dewdrop screeched, agitated.

'OOHHH, is it called MELTY FACE MAGIC now?' questioned Emmie.

'Yes, it is.' sighed Dewdrop.

'I vote not to call it that.' Starla mumbled.

Emmie stared up at the dragons, tears running down her cheeks.'Sorry...' She muttered, moving to the corner of the room

Dewdrop, why are you being rude to everyone you see!? First Starla, now Emmie! Next time try to think before you lash out. Dewdrop scolded herself.

Starla mouthed Thank you to Dewdrop and smiled.

Did she mean thank you for realizing my own mistake, or for shouting at Emmie? Dewdrop smiled back anyway. Well that's one dragon forgiven, now for the other one.

She walked over to Emmie and laid her wing gently on Emmie's shoulder. She smiled down, and Emmie dried her tears and gave a goofy grin back. Dewdrop muttered something about an apology, and selected a corner of the room to sit in her eyes gazing at the wall in front of her.

Starla gritted her teeth against the pain rolling into her wings. Please do something! She thought desperately. 'Can you help me?' She asked instead, turning her head towards Dewdrop.

The MistWing sighed, and got to her talons, plodding over to Starla. 'I don't see what I can do though.' She examined the binds on Starla's wings, before shaking her head and sitting back.

An idea shot through Starla's tired brain. 'I know! Maybe you have special dust, like fire dust! Some MistWing have more than sleep dust!'

Dewdrop looked alarmed by this, her eyes widening as she took a small step back. 'B-but I've never even made sleeping dust!' She whispered, unsure. ' Please, at least try.' Starla looked as if she was about to cry. I guess I could try.

Putting her talons firmly against the cold metal, the grey stone began to sizzle, turning into a liquidy black blob. It melted the chains around Starla, making it so that now Starla was free.

'You did it! Thank you thank you THANK YOU!' Starla shrieked in delight. ' SHHHHHH!' Emmie and Dewdrop told Starla. The reply was an embarrassed mumble, ' Sorry.'

Soon Dewdrop melted all of Starla's chains and the bars to the cell.

They snuck out of the prison caves. ' I wonder where we will go—' Emmie started, usually full of energy, but at the moment full of dread. But she was cut off as Dewdrop and Starla both shushed her. She looked defiant, but closed her mouth.

Good. Starla thought, as she and the others reached the outside. To their relief, Dawn, Cinder and the rest of rebels were crouching near a large bush. Dawn raced over to them, while Cinder stayed back. 'I knew you were safe!' She cried, smiling. Her smile faded though as she noticed the burnt part of her wings.

She examined them carefully before making up her mind. 'Me and Cinder found a small island north of here. It's not too long of a flight, and I can support you.' Dawn motioned towards Starla's injured wings.

'Perfect.' Dewdrop said for her, and they all took off into the air, Cinder leading the way. They could make out a tiny blob in the distance. Starla inwardly groaned, wondering if it was as long as it looked.

'Don't worry. It's not too far.' Dawn said, glancing at the SparkWing. Starla sighed in relief.

Like Dawn had said, it hadn't taken long for their talons to reach land.

'This looks like a good place to sleep tonight.' declared Cinder. Many sleepy murmurs went around, but it was nothing serious. Only Starla and Dewdrop were awake tonight. ' Is Emmie not with you?' Dewdrop asked as Starla dragged herself to the hill that Dewdrop sat on.

' No she isn't. Why do you ask?' Starla asked, wrinkling her snout.

' Oh, I just thought she was your…. Best friend and all.' Dewdrop frowned and gazed up at the starry sky.

' She actually isn't. She's more of an ally. Someone to give you company.' Starla sighed.

' Is now a good time to ask about your powers? I saved you TWO TIMES.'

'All right. My mother was a hybrid. Her mother came from the other continents, and she was a Nightwing.

' What's a nightwing?' Dewdrop questioned. Her eyes reflected the sky, making them shine with stars.

' No idea. Anyway, her dad was a normal sparkwing. And Nightwings have special powers that come from the three moons. Either prophecy or mind reading for one moon, both for two moons, and three makes both powers stronger.'

' Oh, wow. So that means you could have a prophecy too?'

'Yep.' replied Starla, gazing up at the patch of stars that Dewdrop was staring at. The three moons were all out tonight.

Crack. ' Did you hear that?' Starla jumped, frightened. ' Yeah, I heard it.' Dewdrop got on her talons. Crackle, crack. They both ran to a moonlit cave on the side of the hill. Inside, they found….. A nest. 'What would a nest be doing in such a dark cave— Oh!' Starla jumped again. The crackling was getting louder. CRACK. An egg from the nest had rolled over to Starla's talons.

Dewdrop leapt away from it, looking uncertain. Starla meanwhile gazed fondly at the small egg, as it cracked some more.

Before long, a large hole had appeared at the base of the egg, and a tiny talon poked shyly out. Dewdrop backed away some more. Starla glared at her, and then returned her caring gaze to the hatching egg.

A few heartbeats later, a miniature dragonet had crawled out from the egg, its scales shining in the pale moonlight. Starla closely examined her scales, noting that they were black. What dragon tribe is black. Maybe… a NightWing? From the Theory. She smiled. Dewdrop was edging slowly away. 'Hello…' Starla breathed quietly. The dragonet gazed up at her, happiness and wonder glinting in her eyes.

'What should we call her?' Asked Starla softly.

Dewdrop shrugged, 'I don't care, as long as I don't have to care for her.'

'Fine by me.' Starla shot back sharply. Dewdrop inched away as the dragonet squirmed in Starla's talons. 'Are you scared of dragonets?' The SparkWing asked, confusion gleaming in her voice.

Dewdrop looked unsure before nodding her head slowly. 'Mhm…'

Starla snickered. 'It's not funny! I just don't like them —' The dragonet cut her off.

'Orgle bananananananana, Daw, dop!' it was speaking gibberish. ' Mommy?' it stared at Dewdrop, almost touching her, but Dewdrop ducked and flew out the cave and back to the sleeping spot.

' I guess that leaves you and me buddy. What should we name you?' The dragonet crawled out of Starla's warm talons and stood at the spot where moonlight shone through. ' How about…. Moonlight?' Starla suggested. Moonlight gave a big toothy grin, crawled back to Starla and started snoring.

' Well that solves that.'

Starla walked back to camp with Moonlight in her talons, hugging her close so she wouldn't fall. 'I'll have to teach you how to fly Moonlight. Let's start tomorrow morning.' Moonlight grunted 'MOMMY!'. Starla snorted happily, giggling all the way.

'Are you back with your torturing device?' Dewdrop sighed sarcastically, but eyed the squirming dragonet warily. I should change the subject. But before Dewdrop could, Starla read her mind and chatted about the dragonet even more.

'I named her Moonlight, AND we're going to have to teach her how to fly.' Starla said.

'At the moment, YOU can't even fly.' Dewdrop replied, agitated.

Once the sun had risen, Emmie and Starla had woken Moonlight to help her fly. 'This is REALLY early to train them, Emmie. I read a scroll and it said that they need to be at least one year old.'

'You always have your snout stuck in a scroll, Starla. Let's take a more creative approach.'

Starla didn't know what that meant, so she assumed the worst. What Emmie meant wasn't actually a terrible idea. It was just them tossing Moonlight in the air. She learnt quickly enough that she could fly from one mango tree to another by the end of the lesson. Though they were in a fit of giggles by the end, including Moonlight.

'Hey, are you having fun without me?' Dewdrop had come back with loads of dead things, like rabbit and fish. But then she saw Moonlight and mumbled, ' Nevermind.'

Rustle. ' What was that?' Emmie panted, still tired from all the giggling. Rustle rustle. 'It's coming from the bushes! I'll go check!' They wanted to object, but she flew off already.

When Emmie went to check everything, she was surprised to see a colour changing dragon. It yelped 'Go away! These are my bananas!' It thrashed around in the bush, biting and squirming at Emmie.

' OW! STOP IT! WE ARE MEANT TO BE FRIENDS!' Emmie shrieked.

The other dragons heard all the commotion and came over immediately. ' HELP GUYS! MY BESTIE IS ATTACKING ME!' Emmie shouted again.

'I. Am. Not. Your. BESTIE!' The mystery dragon roared. It opened its mouth and aimed at Emmie, and blasted a weird black liquid. The dragon missed, but it melted the grass in that spot in a split second.

Everyone stopped moving. The island went awfully silent. And everyone stared at the dragon.

'What did you just do?' breathed Starla, but her voice cracked up and no one but the new dragon heard her.

'I just spat a bunch of MAGICAL DEATH SPIT at you alright? My name is Coconut, NOT BESTIE.' he aimed his statement at Emmie, and she winced. Coconut had changed from red, to an infuriating purple.

' How can you do that AND that? Wait a minute, are you from the other continent? CAN YOU TAKE US THERE!?' Dewdrop, and Starla yelped, while Moonlight went ' Wuts a conitet?'

Chapter 5

'Okay. Let me get this straight,' Dewdrop stated for the hundredth time. Even Moonlight moaned, causing Dewdrop to edge away from the dragonet, 'You're from a continent called Pyrrhia. And you flew here to find some new fruit? And you're a RainWing that can change colour, and shoot venom?'

'MAGICAL DEATH SPIT!' Emmie interrupted. Dewdrop cast her a glare. Emmie shrunk back. 'Or venom. I guess.'

Coconut slowly nodded his head, up and down, while Emmie bounded over to him, wildly shaking him. 'OK! SO WE HAVE TO PLAN A PARTY! Do you have any OTHER BESTIES?'

'I have an ex-friend… Kinkajou. She's a bit like you.' Said an overwhelmed Coconut, who had turned to a pale green.

'THREE MOONS! SOMEONE LIKE ME!? WE ARE GONNA BE BFFFFFF'S!' Emmie screamed loudly. Dewdrop jumped, covering her ears. ' WE HAVE TO GO THERE RIGHT NOW!' Screeched Emmie, AGAIN.

' I can show you to my continent if you like, BUUUUUT she's not coming.' He tilted his head at Emmie. ' Oh, no, no, no. Definitely NOT. We are gathering EVERYONE from our continent who is against the queen and GETTING. OUT. OF. HERE!' Dewdrop explained. ( It felt amazing to yell at someone she barely knew.)

Coconut sighed. OF. ALL. THE. MOONS! I am going to die. ' Alright, if you must. Are we leaving now or…..' Coconut's voice dropped. He hadn't had suntime in DAYS. ' We leave first thing tomorrow.' Dewdrop noticed that a relieved expression washed over Coconut, and then fell to the ground, snoring.

' That was….' Unexpected? Unusual? CRAZY!? ' Weird.' Dewdrop finished. Everyone was staring intently at Coconut, including Moonlight, who barely knew ANYTHING about this dragon. ' I heard that rainwings have this thing called suntime, like a nap, I think, to make their energy and camouflage better.' Starla stammered. All the shock was still in her mind from meeting the rainwing.

' That makes sense' Everyone agreed.

Later that night, back at Pyrrhia, Cricket, Moon, and Kinkajou were the only dragons in the Jade Mountain library. ' Moon, do you think there are even more continents than Pyrrhia and Pantala?' Cricket whispered, as quiet as a mouse. Cricket came from the lost continent, Pantala and joined Jade Mountain Academy with a bunch of other Silkwings, Hivewings, and very few Leafwings.

Kinkajou wanted to glare. Moon is MY friend. Stop pulling her away from me! Though she didn't because she already did something bad enough. She had slipped a dragon flame cactus bomb into Cricket's bag. Since Cricket always carried a reading torch, she was bound to accidentally drop a flame on the cactus.

At midnight, when they had all left the library, there was a blood curdling scream near the sleeping caves. And when they got to Cricket's cave, Cricket, and Sundew were burnt badly.

There were glares from every dragon, and were aimed at Cricket. Every night she would sob into her talons thinking What have I done?

In the morning, at Eternia, everyone had packed away all their things, sent messages to other dragons across the continent, and were prepared to fly.

'Don't worry Starla, we'll help you fly. We would never leave you behind. You're our Miss. Know It All!' Dawn comforted Starla. And soon, with Coconut leading the way, they lifted off and flew to Pyrrhia.

At the Ice Kingdom, where the Rebels were headed, Snowfall was pacing back and forth on the icy cold floor of the palace. ' Queen Snowfall, your guards reported seeing a wing of dragons headed this way.' Lynx said. ' Yes, I've heard, Lynx. Don't remind me.' Snowfall snapped. Lynx shrunk back and mumbled ' Sorry.'

Snowfall was furious. This was the second time this year that someone had stumbled into her kingdom, but this time she knew what to expect. ' Lynx, Tell the guards that we are paying a little visit to these mystery dragons.'

It was bright and sunny, outside, and Snowfall was glad that her eyes were able to co-exist with the harsh light. Snowfall spotted the approaching dragons, gliding across the beach. One of them looked like… a nightwing. No. No, no, no. Why would a Nightwing be here? Wait, that one doesn't have ANY shiny scales.

'Sorry, I'm not a Nightwing, I'm HALF Nightwing.' The black dragon replied to Snowfall's thoughts. Snowfall's eyes widened and before she could do anything, the dragon said ' Yes, I can read minds but PLEASE don't try to kill me—' a tiny creature dangling from the dragon's neck shouted ' NO KEEING PEEZ!'

'C'mon, let's take these dragons to Jade Mountain, Sunny would absolutely LOVE to meet another hybrid.' Snowfall growled. This day was just getting worse. Uh,oh. Not ANOTHER dragon that Winter and that Sandwing will fall in love with.

'What's your name? I'm Lynx.' Lynx had walked over to the dragon and spread her wings wide to welcome her. ' I'm Starla.' Starla smiled shyly. ' I OM MONLIT!' the tiny thing screamed again. ' She means I am Moonlight.' The two dragons giggled and snorted. Suddenly Starla wrinkled her snout, looking down the wide gap between one island and the other. She stared at the other dragons soaring gracefully over it. ' What's wrong, Starla?' Lynx wondered aloud. 'Its my wings. They got a bit burnt before, so now I can't fly.' Starla nudged her wings with her talon, directing at black spot with a small hole in it.

'I can help.' Lynx wobbled a bit, but she managed to get Starla flying.

Sigh. When will we ever have any proper icewings that don't try and befriend everyone they see? Snowfall thought, annoyed.

Snowfall couldn't wait till all these weirdo's weren't her problem anymore. Once they got to Jade Mountain, her troubles would all be over.

Finally spotting the greenish cluster of mountains, they landed in one of the caves, only to find out that they were at the prey center. Chickens were flailing around, goats were trampling dragons talons and there was food all over the floor. ' The rainwings are the only neat, dignified eaters.' Coconut said, smirking at all the other dragons in the room.

A big brown dragon limped over and greeted them 'Hellooooooo! Nice to meet you! I'm Clay, one of the founders of the school. Coconut we were looking for you! You can't just disappear like that!' Clay turned his gaze to Coconut.

'Yes I can.' Coconut had faded into the background, running to the pile of fruit and the other rainwings.

' Ha, ha.' Another dragon joined in. She was blue, and had a fierce, powerful face. ' Tsunami! Coconut came back with these dragons! I think they might be from another continent!' Clay said with his face lit up.

' Yeah Clay, I noticed!' She said, rolling her eyes. I'll show you guys to Sunny.'

The cave wasn't as dull as Starla had imagined. There were windows everywhere, with light pouring in, and the lights on the cave ceiling were all sorts of rainbowish colors.

A blur of black and yellow came to them. One of the dragons was extremely small, the other was wearing a leaf blindfold, and the last one had silver teardrop scales beside her eyes. The yellowish— orangish one must be Sunny.

' Hi! I'm Sunny! This is Clay, Tsunami, Fatespeaker, And Starflight. Where did you guys come from?'

' We came from Eternia, on the other side of the sea.' Dewdrop explained as pushed through the crowds. ' I'm a Mistwing, the ones with light pastel colors. Starla is a Sparkwing, and they are normally black and purple, but sometimes maroon.' There were a few gasps in the crowd when they looked at Starla, noticing that she must've been a hybrid, looking like Nightwing. ' And Emmie is a Jewelwing. They have gem shaped scales. We only came here because our Mistwing queen is evil and trying to get the Immortal Crystals from the Jewelwings.'

'Wow.' Sunny mumbled. 'Maybe stay with us for a bit.' Clay suggested. Some dragons hesitated, but agreed thinking it's their only chance of surviving.

They were all sorted into sleeping caves. Moon, Cricket, Kinkajou, and Sundew. Those are my clawmates I guess. I hope they are nice. Starla took a breath and then went in.

She was greeted with an argument between a Rainwing and a Nightwing.

Chapter 6

' If you had any spine, you would've NOT done that. Cricket is our friend!'

' I swear I didn't do it! Besides, Cricket is YOUR friend, not mine!'

Starla didn't have the slightest idea of what was going on. The Nightwing was flaring her wings like crazy, and her voice was loud and strong. The Rainwing in the corner, however, was panicking and turning into a bright red. And all in the middle of it was a pale, sick looking, black and yellow dragon with wings like bee's. And right beside her was a green dragon with leaf shaped wings. She had multiple pouches hanging to her. Starla wondered what contents the pouches contained.

All of a sudden, silence fell in the cave, and everyone was looking at Starla. Even the pouches seemed to stare at her in shock.

' Hi' The Rainwing and the Nightwing at the same time. They glared at each other. Before another fight could break out, the green one stepped in between them, and greeted Starla saying ' Welcome to Jade Mountain Academy. Don't mind those two. They have a bit of a ….. Situation. My name's Sundew.'

' Hi, I'm Starla.' In the cave there were 5 beds. One was a hammock, another was a nest of leaves and all sorts of plants, one was a rock with moss and leaves, and one a weird squishy thing, and one was un-occupied. Starla guessed that one was for her, it had all the stuff that she would normally sleep on.

She was exhausted. I hope no one minds me sleeping. I haven't slept in days! And soon Starla fell into a dream. She was in Jade Mountain, and a dark, big dragon was scowling and calling orders. Everyone's eyes were turning white and black, and were obeying the scary dragon. And they came from under the mountain, they were carrying three glowing gems. One was an opal, another was a sapphire, and the last one was a bright diamond. They all had a faint red sparkle and they seemed to put everyone into a trance. Soon lightning, earthquakes, and ice were falling on Jade Mountain. And then dream transferred to Eternia, where Queen Sunbeam was creating an army.

But the last part of the dream was light coming out of the queen, and she exploded. The bright flash made Starla wince, but before she could see the end, someone pulled her out of it.

You tragic little thing. A voice answered.

Who are you? And what did you just do? Starla noticed that this must still be a dream. Everything was serenely still, and her clawmates weren't there.

Oh, you don't know who I am? That's surprising. If you've come from Eternia, you should have heard of a not— really evil dragon that all mistwings hate. The mystery voice added.

No, I haven't. Thank you for doing that. Starla smiled in her sleep

Normally dragons wouldn't thank me, they would just glare. The voice sighed.

Well I can't glare because I can't even see you. Starla joked, trying to lighten up the mood.

Good point. And then it went silent.

' Wake up sleepy head.' A voice called. ' Aww, I don't want to.' Starla whined sleepily. The dragon frowned. ' Fine.'

' What's your name? I'm Moonwatcher. Moon for short. Oh, who's that?'

' I'm Starla, and this is Moonlight.' Starla answered.

' Follow me, I have someone she'd like to meet.' She motioned to follow.

They ended up walking over to the pale yellow and black dragon. Along with her was a tiny version of her, clinging to the dragon's neck. ' Hi Cricket! This is Starla and Moonlight.' Moon pointed her talons at Moonlight. ' Hi Starla. Nice to meet you. Moonlight, this is Bumblebee.'

Bumblebee and Moonlight ended up becoming besties. Or at least, that's what they thought Bumblebee said. ' ME AN MOONITE AWW BESSIES!' Bumblebee had shouted.

' You're going to love the library. It has AMAZING scrolls.' Moon declared. Starla's face lit up. She loved to read. And, maybe I can find out about the mystery voice.

Moon was right. To Starla, It looked like a palace! ' This is Starflight, our librarian..' Moon explained. ' Hello, Starla. Sunny told me about you. Here's your library stamp.' said Starflight as he handed the green pouch to Starla. Maybe someone was using a dreamvisitor to see me. Maybe I can find a scroll on animus– touched objects. Starla hoped she would be able to find some answers.

' Starflight, do you have any scrolls on, uh, animus– touched objects?' stammered Starla. She didn't know what to expect from Starflight. She barely even knew him! ' Yes, I do. On that shelf, over there.' He walked over and tapped on the patterning and grabbed one, giving it to her after. 'Thank you.' Starla said. She sat down and opened the scroll to a musty, tattered, yellowed page.

Animus History

Animus magic still remains a difficult study. Not many know about it.

Dragons with animus magic can enchant things. For example, the Eye of Onyx. Some animuses known are Albatross, who had gone mad during the seawing mascare, Prince Arctic, Foeslayer, and Darkstalker, who killed his own father. ( Arctic.)

Other animus— touched objects are dreamvisitiors, with only three on the whole of Pyrrhia.

GONG! Starla rolled up the scroll, lost in thought and not hearing the gongs.

GONG! GONG! 'Starla, did you not hear the bells? It's time to go!' Dewdrop called from outside the library. ' We have to get to class!'

Oops! Starla grabbed the scroll, and clumsily followed Dewdrop. The MistWing was pushing through groups of dragons. Soon, they arrived at a small cave. The history cave. I heard that it was destroyed by a cactus- something. It looks nice now though.

' Hello new student's. I'm Webs, your history teacher. I think it's only fitting if we learn about your continent. These scrolls I'm handing to you now are some we found. No Tamarin, these aren't hand written by anyone we know. They're quite ancient, actually.' Starla opened the scroll, finding a detailed map of Eternia. ' Starla, is this map correct?' Webs questioned. ' Yes, it's alright.'

The lesson went by quickly, the reason being everyone asking questions about Eternia to Starla.

' I'm SO hungry Starla. Where's your friend, Moon?'

' Maybe she'll be in the prey center. It will also solve your eating problem.'

Dewdrop dashed off to find the prey center, while Starla took small steps. I need to find out more about that voice I'm hearing.

Unlikely. Dragons in Pyrrhia know absolutely NOTHING about me. I come from Eternia, Starla. Explained the dragon.

MOONS ABOVE! Stop doing that! Starla thought.

Oh, rummage through your thoughts? Isn't that what you do?

Stop being difficult. It's not like I wanted to be this way.

Silence followed.

After finally reaching the prey center, Starla found Moon chatting with Cricket and Dewdrop, and behind them, Emmie and Kinkajou. Kinkajou glared quietly at Moon, almost threatening to freeze her to place. Emmie, however, was smiling cheerfully at everyone she saw.

' There you are, Starla. I saved you some goat! All three of them were seated in front of a giant stalactite, munching on a weird, dead, furry thing, while Emmie and Kinkajou were eating lots of freshly picked fruit.

' Thanks.' said Starla absentmindedly.

' Hey, why don't you sit with us, Starla?' Emmie asked hopefully.

' umm….'

' Please? What, are we not friends anymore?'

Starla glanced back between Dewdrop and Emmie. ' FINE. You don't have to. Bye, ex– friend.' Growled Emmie. Kinkajou led Emmie out of the cave, scowling at Moon.

Starla stared back in shock. Tears started to form in her eyes. Dewdrop slid next to Starla.

'What was that all about?' She asked, peering at Starla. Starla fought back tears as she gulped.

'For some reason, Emmie is mad at me.' Starla said slowly.

'Oh… well Emmie seems to get upset pretty easily.' Dewdrop commented. Starla nodded, trying to comfort herself.

Are you really that scared that she will hate you? She seems silly to me. The mystery voice boomed. Starla ignored it.

'Yeah I guess.' Starla motioned for Dewdrop to follow her to a small rock formation. 'Hungry?'

Dewdrop smiled, and grabbed a small talonful of fruit. 'Not that hungry. This will be fine.' She answered. Starla beamed back, before plucking a strawberry off the table.

'Er- Dewdrop… do you know of any… evil dragons? That can talk to others?' Starla sheepishly asked.

Dewdrop's mouth fell, and she dropped the berries on the floor. 'You mean, he's talking to you?'

'No!' Starla lied quickly. Thank you, I don't want a MistWing finding out about me.

'W-well… if you want to know… it dates back a long time…' Dewdrop spluttered. 'There was this dragon, called Nightmare. And he was a SparkWing. But the thing was, he had… powers. Like no one had ever known.' Dewdrop took a deep breath.

'He could posses dragons. It was weird. One day though… Nightmare just… erm… snapped.' Dewdrop was stumbling over her words. 'Y-eah. And he possessed a bunch of his enemies, and killed them. He controlled their own talons. He was also in love, with a nice JewelWing called Dream. She didn't have any powers. She was powerless in fact. But everyone says that it was her who made him snap.' Dewdrop finished.

'And h-how did he die?' Starla questioned. Dewdrop smiled at this. 'Well, it was quite gruesome. He deserved it though.' No I didn't. Cut in the voice. Starla shushed him.

'Someone murdered him in the middle of the night, and hung his body outside the MistWing village, to tell us that he had been killed for good. They ripped out his guts. But yes, he can talk to dragons.' Dewdrop breathed.

Wait… your Nightmare? Starla realized. Yes Starla… my name is Nightmare… I… have no intention of killing you. Starla blinked, unsure of how to reply.

Yet…
