Howdy, everyone! It's been a while, hasn't it? After two months since the end of The Sins of a Time Lord, here's a midquel oneshot I wrote set between "Angels Run - Part Two" and "The Trial of a Brigadier", as a way to celebrate the 61st anniversary of Doctor Who!
You might notices some differences between here and what I wrote in that fic, well, there's a reason for that. I'll write it in the end notes. Now, enjoy the fic!

The Exorcists returned to Heaven, soon followed by the Brigadier and his team, with the latter being welcomed by Sarah Jane and Victoria.

While some of the Exorcists and the Inquisitors were exchanging some glares, Lute lunged towards the Brigadier.

"YOUTRAITOR!" She shouted at the top of her lungs, "How dare you...How dare you kill the First Man?!"

Leela and Jamie pushed her away.

"And forwhat? To protect a bunch of damned souls? They deserve it! If anything, we're doing them a favour!" said Lute.

"There are friends of the Doctor down there, and if he trusts them, they must be good people." said Leela. "And I won't let you hurt them!"

"An' please, ye're the last one here who should judge people, ye genocidal maniac!" said Jamie.

"YOU LITTLE-"

Lute tried to attack Jamie, but stopped when Leela pointed her angelic steel knife at her throat.

"Lay a finger on any of us and I will make sure you will join Adam soon." She said.

"Tch..." Lute backed down, she doesn't have an arm, so she would be easily overpowered by the savage. "Just wait till I report to the High Seraphim...I will have you court martialed, Brigadier! All of you!"

"Enough, Lieutenant." Sera appeared, as her calm voice boomed.

The Inquistors and the Exorcists saluted her.

"You were quick this time, where's Adam?" Sera asked, noticing Lute's terrible state. "And whatever happened to your arm?"

"Well, Your Holiness, Adam is-"

"Adam is dead." the Brigadier interrupted. "And I killed him, Your Holiness."

Almost everyone gasped, just like that, the Brigadier took away from Lute the only thing she could threat him.

Sera looked the commander both in horror and confusioon. "Dead? You killed him?! And why were you down there with the Exorcists, the Inquisitors are not supposed to leave Heaven!"

"I am aware of that, Your Holiness." said the Brigadier, "However, I couldn't just stand aside while Adam commit these atrocities against Sinners, especially when he was going to cause a diplomatic incident."

Sera raised an eyebrow, "A diplomatic incident?"

"Aye!" said Jamie, "That baestard was goin' to kill the Princess of Hell!"

Sera glared at Lute, who looked away.

She then looked back at the Brigadier sighed. "Considering what was happening, you have probably done us a favour, Brigadier." said Sera, "If Adam managed to kill the Princess of Hell, Lucifer would probably guide a rebellion against us."

"Thank you, Your Holiness/What?!" the Brigadier and Lute said in unison.

"However," said Sera, "You have still killed a Heaven commander, the First Man, of all people, so you will face Court Martial."

Lute smirked as the Inquisitors gasped.

"You can't do that!" Victoria complained, "The Brigadier did nothing wrong!"

"Yeah, didn't you say killing Adam did you a favour?" said Sarah Jane.

"Nobody is above the law." said Sera, "...Not even me. Take him away!"

The Inquisitors looked at the Brigadier, not sure if to arrest their commander.

"Do as she says," said the Brigadier, calmly.

The Inquisitors brought him away.

Later, Sera returned to the palace, where she was welcomed by a rather nervous Emily.

"S-So?" She said, "How did it go?"

"Terribly, Emily." said Sera, "Adam is dead, I have to report to the Heavenly Virtues."

"Adam is dead?!" said Emily,

"Yes, I'll go now-"

"Wait!" Emily grabbed Sera's hand. "Do you...Do you really have to tell them? What if they punish you for the Exterminations?"

Sera looked surprised. "I thought you wanted me to get punished."

"No! I mean, yeah, but..." Emily looked away, "I...I don't want you to Fall. I'd feel really lonely and, and...I'm not ready to be High Seraphim."

Sera smiled softly, as she gently caressed the Junior Seraphim's cheek. "Don't worry about me, Em, I will be fine."

Sera walked into the elevator directed straight to the Seven Heavenly Virtues.

Meanwhile, the Virtues were in a meeting in a dark, white room, with her faces being mostly covered by shadows.

"My apologies for this sudden summoning, fellow Virtues, but there's an emergency." Michael, the embodiment of Charity, commenced.

"A new non-human soul?" A female Virtue spoke.

"Not only that." the flying globe in the centre of the room lit up, showing images of the Doctor. "It's a Time Lord."

"At last, they finally bit the dust." Gabriel, a female Angel who is the embodiment of Diligence, commented.

"I thought they all perished in the Time War." said

"One bizarre thing is that this Time Lord died...In Hell." said Michael.

An Inquisitor entered the room and kneeled. "Pardon me for the intrusion, your Pureness, but the High Seraphim has requested for a hearing."

"Let her in, she help us with this soul." said Michael.

The Inquisitor left, and Sera stepped inside.

She kneeled in front of the Virtues, as fear held a solid grip on her heart. "My Virtues."

"You may stand up, Sera." the female Angel Ramiel, the embodiment of Kindness, smiled softly.

Sera obliged.

"Now, High Seraphim - I believe dealing with relations between Heaven and the Kingdom of Hell was your responsability, correct?" Michael asked.

"Yes, My Virtue." said Sera, looking away.

"Then, surely you know about thealiveTime Lord who perished in Hell?" said Michael.

Sera went pale. "...Yes, I do."

"So, could you please give us more information about this Time Lord?" Ramiel asked.

"Yes, My Virtue." Sera sighed. "That man is the Time Lord known only as "the Doctor", he's been travelling around the universe for centuries, usually having young humans as his companions."

The globe began showing several parts of the Doctor's life, with his many incarnations and adventures with his companions.

First, it began showing the First Doctor, when Ian and Barbara accidentally stepped inside the TARDIS.

"I believe these people are known to you."

Then, it moved to the Second Doctor, as he panickly dodged missiles launched by a Cyberman.

It showed the Third Doctor, as he faced a Sontaran in the Middle Ages.

"What is your native planet?" The Sontaran asked.

"Gallifrey. I am a Time Lord." the Doctor replied.

Then, there's the Fourth Doctor, as he falls to his death.

"It's the end...But the moment has been prepared for."

Then there's the Fifth Doctor, who was crashing into Androzani Minor.

"Unless of course I can find the antidote... I owe it to my young friend to try because I got her into this — So you see, I'm not gonna let you stop me now!"

Then, there's the Sixth Doctor, who was running away from a horde of Cybermen, with a tall young man with strawberry blonde hair attempting to hold them down by shooting at them with his tommy gun.

After that, there was the Seventh Doctor, who was calmly walking away from an exploding crcus tent.

Then, there was the Eighth Doctor, who introduced himself to a panicking pilot.

"I'm a Doctor, though probably not the one you were expecting."

Then, there was the Ninth Doctor, wo was running away from a group of Autons, holding the hand of his new companion, Rose, to help her keep it up.

Then, there was the Tenth Doctor, who was explaining to Rose his pain because of the mortality of his companions.

"I have to live on, alone. That's the curse of the Time Lords."

And last, there was the Eleventh Doctor, who was about to blow himself up to kingdom come to kill Adam.

"Doctor, you say? Doctor...WHO?!"

Sera was startled, she didn't expect the orb to show how the Doctor attempted to kill Adam.

"That's the First Man, isn't he?" said Cassiel.

"That's how he died?" Raphiel, the embodiment of Humilty, asked.

"You...You already knew about Adam's demise, My Virtue?" Sera asked.

"Yes, we know." said Michael, "And so we've been informed about his sinful behaviours against the souls of the Damned, all while being under your authorisation."

Sea went pale.

"We will talk about it in your trial, Sera," said Ramiel, for she was more focused on the Doctor's life. "I say, this Doctor had an eventful life, hasn't he?"

"And he also committed loads of sins, too." said Cassiel, the embodiment of Temperance, as the globe showed the adventures eith Ian and Barbara "Taking humans against their own will...Despicable!"

"Only his first seems to be kidnapped," Gabriel commented. "And I think it was more of an accident, since they do seem to befriend him eventually."

"What do you think, Sera? You seem to be well informed about him." Ramiel asked.

"Well..." said Sera, "If I may express my opinion, the Doctor during his life has been guilty of several genocides." The globe began showing said genocides. "The Kastrarians, the Osirans, the Fendahls, the Zolfa-Thurans, the Great Vampires and his worst, the Daleks and the Time Lords during the Time War."

The Virtues were...Flabbergasted. They never witnessed a soul capable of doing such things on such vast scale.

"I...I see." Michael regained some composure. "If that's the case, then I'm sure Lucifer will take care of hi-"

"Wait!" Sera interjected. "I...Have a request."

"Speak, then." said Ramiel, calmly.

"Despite the crimes the Doctor has committed...I don't think he deserves to be sent down in Hell." said Sera, "He did as much good as he did evil."

"We'll take it in consideration, Sera." said Michael. "You are dismissed, you should prepare for your upcoming trial. I'm sure you're aware that, considering what you've done, the Fall from Grace might be a possible sentence for you,are you not?"

Sera flinched at the Virtue's cold glare. "Yes, My Virtue."

Sera stood up and left.

Ramiel smirked confidently. "About the Doctor...I think I may have an idea."

The other Virtues looked at her, intrigued.

"That being?" Cassiel asked.

"Time Lords use regenerations to cheat death, right? Let's give him a new cycle."

"Are you sure?" said Michael, "Why should we revive him, of all beings?"

"Only the Son of the Lord had such honor." said

"Well..." said Ramiel, "I think there's something special about him. He seemed to have suffered a lot...He deserves another chance, doesn't he?"

The other Virtues looked at eachother, then they nodded.

"Ever so kind, aren't you, Ramiel?" said Uriel, the embodiment of Chastity.

"Very well, this is our verdict: We shall grant the Time Lord known as 'the Doctor' a brand new regeneration cycle." said Michael.

All the seven Virtues begangiving some of their energy towards the orb, which it turned gold, similar to the regeneration energy, to blue. Then, the energy flew into the sky and then down into Hell.

And the rest, as you know...Is History.

And that's not quite all, folks! I have some very special news regarding The Sins of a Time Lord: I'm considering making a partial rewrite of that story. Since now that two months have passed, I can see that it could use some polishing, correcting some errors and perhaps adding some new chapters (like that Millie-focused one I really wanted to write), plus, an alternate ending, which will fit much better with future installments of the series in terms of continuity. Buuut it may take a whie, since I've been especially busy in this period, both with my life and other fanfics I'm working on.

Well, that's all. See you soon and Happy Doctor Who Day!
