As Leonard and Sheldon walked to the apartment building, Leonard noticed a woman standing in front of their building.
"I can't believe it! Amy is here, I can show her my brain scans!" said Sheldon. He then proceeded to open the beige envelope that contained his brain scans in the middle of the street.
"I can't believe it either," Leonard replied. There stood a woman who against all odds was waiting for Sheldon.
She was a bit shorter than Penny and was brunette instead of blonde. Leonard couldn't really judge whether she was pretty or not. After meeting Penny, he didn't find most women attractive.
As they drew closer, Sheldon took long strides to shorten the distance between himself and Amy.
"Amy, what are you doing here? Well, it doesn't matter, I have to show you something very interesting" said Sheldon. He quickly took out the brain scans to show Amy.
"These are your brain scans? Great, I was wondering how I could bring this up in our next conversation. But I wanted to wait until our wedding", Amy said.
Leonard was observing their conversation. They seem to be lost in their own world. Maybe his mother was right. It was unconventional but it seemed to work for them.
"Amy, social convention requires me to introduce you to my chauffeur slash roommate, Leonard Hofstadter. He works at the university, too" said Sheldon.
Leonard went to shake her hand but she immediately refused, however, Leonard wasn't surprised.
Amy simply nodded in acknowledgement.
"He isn't the one that took a picture of us" she said.
"Of course, not. Leonard is respectful but Amy, why are you here?" said Sheldon.
"Your friend Penelope contacted me and asked me to come to her apartment. She's your closest mother-figure after your mother, so I thought I should agree to her request" said Amy.
"You are quite perceptive. Well let's head off to her apartment then" said Sheldon.
Penny, Howard, and Raj waited together for Amy and Sheldon to appeared.
"Here are some snacks" Penny said as she dropped a few snacks on the coffee table.
Raj was surprised but took the snacks she offered. They were all low-calorie snacks in individual packages.
"So, Raj you still won't speak to me even if you're in my apartment" said Penny. Raj shocked his head.
"Dude, just tell her. Penny is nice and she won't laugh." said Howard. Immediately, Raj whispered in Howard's ear.
"He said "okay but you can't tell Leonard or Sheldon". When Raj was a Freshman at college, he attended a party at a sorority. He was told to walk to the center of the room and start speaking about his research. After a minute or two, everyone started laughing including his roommate because of his accent. He was okay a few days after but the rumors spread and everyone would snicker or make a comment when they saw him. Even the professors. A few months after that, Raj found he couldn't speak to other people" said Howard.
Penny nodded and Howard then said "By the time, we met though Raj had gotten better and could talk to us. But talking to women is still close to impossible. I told Raj not to worry about it, we all have issues. I haven't been on a date in years and God, I'm lonely".
Before Penny could answer, she heard three consecutive knocks.
