Chapter 79:
Thanks to Them Part 8
Halloween on Gravesfield
The scene begins with Keizer and his followers as they gather to listen to what he has to say. As this is happening, just below his throne was Eda, King and Archimedes who just turned visible after sneaking through with an invisibility glyph.
Archimedes: ( whispers) Eda this is a really dangerous idea.
Eda: Shh, listen.
Bill: Grand Huntsman, you wished to see us?
Keizer: Yes, to further discuss the problem.
Bill: Regarding the Son of Ginga or the Eye?
Keizer: The Eye of course. As you all know the human and her friends escaped with it.
The trio let out a small gasp with what he said.
King: Wait, did he say Luz got away?
Eda forms a little smile and sighs in relief.
Eda: She's alive.
Keizer: It should have ended two months ago.
A floating platform came down with the Christa frozen inside the crystal ball.
Keizer: But once again Euphemia caused trouble with me.
Archimedes took out his binoculars as he looked up to see Christa in the crystal ball.
Archimedes: It's Christa.
Eda: Is it?
Archimedes: Look.
Archimedes hands Eda the binoculars as she looks and see.
Monsieur Bolst: Is she dead?
Keizer: No. I kept her preserved in this as my trophy. To remind me of my victory. But never mind her. It's time we do something about the human and I think I have a solution. It's also part of my next phase of my rule.
Bill: You're next phase Grand Huntsman?
Keizer rose up his hand as the sky turned black with white silhouettes of different planets.
Keizer: Why rule only one world when I can conquer multiple and I know what my next target is. The Earth, the home world of the humans.
The image shifts showing Keizer opening a large portal for the titans. The titans enter the portal as they were now in the human world as they trampled through cities and crushed innocents.
Keizer: The titans will go and tear down their civilization and wipe out as many humans that get in the way. Their weapons will be no match for us. Those that survive will be part of the new world.
The image then shows the destroyed cities as they were being rebuilt into monuments and towers and surviving humans being enslaved. The scene zooms out showing them in the palm of Keizer's hand. He closed his hand showing multiple worlds and planets around him as he reached out his hands and opened his wings.
Keizer: Just like here they will be part of my new era with me as their god. It won't end there. My conquest will continue until I rule all!
The image disappears as the sky turns back to it's blood red.
Bill: Brilliant Grand Huntsman! Brilliant! I look forward to seeing you're reign expand. Wouldn't you agree Thomas?
Thomas: Uh oh yeah, yeah. Whatever he thinks, I'm cool with it as long as I'm not part of it. Hehehe.
Monsieur Bolst: But what about the human there?
Bill: Haven't you figured it out bird brain? She gets squashed there along with the Eye.
Keizer: Exactly. In three days, I commence the March of the Titans!
The scene shifts back to the ground.
Eda: This is bad. This is really bad. Come on, we have to warn Luz.
Archimedes: What? How? We don't have a portal.
Eda: No, but we have blood.
Eda looks at King.
King: Weh?
Eda takes out a needle from her hair.
Eda: King, prick your hand with this and use your blood over the puddle of water.
King: Oh no way Jose.
Eda: King.
King: I'm not going to do that. I hate needles.
Eda: You want save Luz and Chrissy don't you?
King: I...( groans) I'm only doing it for them.
King takes the needle. He looks nervous but pokes his hand.
King: Yeow!
King held his hand over the pool of water as a drop of his blood falls in and creates a small portal.
King: There it is.
Eda: Alright let's go.
Archimedes: Wait shouldn't we regroup?
Eda: There's no time.
Archimedes: Okay but didn't you guys say the reason for the portal door and the key was to properly channel to the human world? Where is this going to take us?
Eda: We won't know until we try. Now come on!
Eda pulls Archimedes down as King jumps in. They were falling through the void screaming.
Eda: Hang on Luz. Mama Eda's coming!
They continued screaming until they ended up somewhere else.
King: Did we make it? Oh.
They looked around the area and it was not the human realm. It looked more like they were on another planet as there were in dark, gloomy world full of nothing but rocks, geysers and murky water puddles.
Archimedes: I can assume this isn't the human realm.
Eda: It's definitely not.
King: Where are we anyway?
As this was happening a green humanoid creature with a xenomorph like head, and black eyes with white pupils was passing by.
Eda: Let's ask this guy. Excuse me buddy. You know where we are?
But the green humanoid creature opened it's mouth showing rows of razor sharp teeth and an inner mouth sticking out screeching at the trio.
Eda: AH! Okay no need to be rude.
But then more green humanoid creatures emerged out of the ground surrounding the three.
Eda: Okay we're not welcome here. King.
King: Do I have to?
Eda: You want to be there dinner?
King whines and pokes his hand and drops the blood in the water puddle as they jump in to get away as the portal took them to the next world. They were now in what looked like a cemetery at night time. But everything had a gothic, Tim Burton style look to it.
Archimedes: Oh no are we dead?
Eda: No we're fine. But where are we?
King: And why does everything look so...stylized?
Just then from the shadows was a tall, think lanky figure approaching the three from behind. The three looked back as the creature screeched at them. Archimedes screams like a girl and hides behind Eda. Eda and King were about to fight but the figure stepped out of the darkness revealing to be Jack Skellington.
Jack: Hello, welcome!
King: Ahhh! It's one of those human zombie!
Jack: Oh no, no I'm no zombie. The names Jack Skellington, the Pumpkin King.
Archimedes: Wait don't you mean Skeleton King.
Jack: No Pumpkin King.
Archimedes: But you're a skeleton wouldn't it make more sense.
Eda: Archy please we don't have time for this. Okay Jack where are we exactly?
Archimedes: And why did you scare us like that?
Jack: Why you're in Halloween town and scaring is just our way of saying hello. I don't think I've ever seen you three before. Where are you from?
King: We're from the Boiling Isles.
Jack: Hmm, what holiday is that? Where is your tree?
King: Oh we had an Owl House, but it got destroyed by an ancient monster. So now we're on our way to rescue our friends.
Jack: Oh really. I'm off to save my friends from Oogie Boogie.
Eda: That sounds like a dumb name for a villain.
Jack: He's responsible for scaring children.
Eda: I rest my case.
Archimedes: Uh is there a fountain we could use?
Jack points to a fountain nearby. King pricks his finger as another drop of blood falls in and makes another portal. Before they enter they look back at Jack.
Eda: Later.
Jack waves goodbye as they jump in the portal and end up in another world. They found what looked like Earth. They were in a city but it looked abandoned, covered in vines and there were skeletons all over the place.
Archimedes: Is this the human world?
King: Oh no, we're too late! Everyone's dead!
Eda: I don't think this is it.
They walked around the city and aside from the vines and skeletons they also came across statues and monuments of some kind of gorilla. On some of the buildings were some graffiti that said " Jr" or " Hail Harambe Jr."
King: What is with the monkey man? He's everywhere.
Archimedes: Uh guys what's that?
The looked and saw what looked like a baboon on the top of a car.
Eda: Oh it's just a monkey. Don't worry it's nothing to fear.
But then the baboon began hooting and grunting. As he did more baboons rose out from the buildings and vines surrounding them.
King: What are they doing?
Archimedes: I think we're in there territory.
Eda: Okay don't panic. Just stay calm, raise your hands up and let them know we're not a threat.
HOO HOO!
A loud hooting sound was heard as the baboons went silent. Jumping out from a building and onto a car appeared to be a silverback gorilla, twice the size of a normal kind and had a red tie that said Jr. The baboons made way for him as he approached the trio.
King: What is that? It looks like the monkey man we've been seeing all around.
Archimedes: Judging by the way the others act I think he's their leader or something.
Eda: So what is he? Is he friendly?
Archimedes: ( pets the gorilla) Hey little monkey. Ow!
But Jr punches Archimedes in the face.
Eda: You don't punch my boyfriend like that. You know I'm gonna-AH!
Jr punches Eda next and set's his attention to King.
King: Weh?
Jr grabs King by his horns and began to shake him around.
Eda: ( rubs her face) Ow. Okay that's it.
Eda turns into her harpy form and punches Jr in the face making him drop King.
Harpy Eda: I'm gonna get you, you stupid monkey.
The Jr grunts and roared while pounding his chest. He came at Eda and tried to punch her but she ducks down and grabs him by the arm and throws him into one of his statues, knocking it down and breaking it. Jr gets up rubbing his head. Growls and lets out a roar. The baboons began hooting again as they attacked the trio. King used his sonic yell to those that attacked him while Archimedes used swung his scythe around, but he got overwhelmed as the baboons jumped onto him and brought him down. Eda punched and kicked the ones attacking her.
Harpy Eda: ( punching) Oh you want some of that? How about you?
But then she heard Archimede's screams as he was being attacked ( comedically) by two baboons. One of them biting on top of his head and the other on his butt.
Harpy Eda: Get your stinking teeth off him you dang dirt apes!
Eda punches the baboon biting Archimedes head and pulls the one biting his butt off by the tail, ripping the back of his pants and showing his undwear with hearts on it.
Eda: You okay Archy?
Archimedes: These monkeys are crazy!
They heard King let out a sonic yell as blew some of the baboons away.
King: Okay we should leave like now!
The trio began to run as they were being chased by Jr and the baboons.
Harpy Eda: There!
Eda pointed to a fountain. They ran to it as King poked his finger and his blood made another portal.
Harpy Eda: Quickly!
The three jumped into the portal as the baboons just missed them. They ended up in the next world as they were shot out of a pond and landed in someone's garden and ruining some of the crops.
Eda: ( back to normal) Oh rough landing. Is everyone okay?
Archimedes: I think so.
King: Bleh! Oh I got dirt in my mouth. So where are we now?
They looked around and they were in the world of Amphibia, in the garden in front of the Plantar house.
Eda: Oh I think this is our brother show.
Just then Hop Pop exits the house.
Hop Pop: Ah what a beautiful day and what best way then to check my...WHAAAAAAT!?
But Hop Pop gasps when he saw the trio standing in his garden.
Hop Pop: What do you think you're doing?! You're ruining my crops!
Eda: What? ( looks down) Oh. Oh we're so sorry mister uh...old frog man.
Hop Pop: You have any idea how much hard work you just destroyed?
Archimedes: Look we're very sorry sir. We were trying to get away from a bunch of killer monkeys and we ended up...
But then Archimedes stepped on something else. He was now on the avocado patch.
Archimedes: Oops.
Hop Pop: My avocados! Do you know how scarce they are here?! I got them all the way from Los Angelos where Anne lives. Where I had to ( sniffs) where I had to let her go. ( sniffs) I had to let go of my second granddaughter. I mean sure she drove me nuts at times, put us in danger and even caused massive damage to my house, but she was kind, responsible and... ( cries) Wahahaha! She was our hero. She died saving our world and then she back to life. I don't know that part was confusing but after that I had to send her back, the gems for the music box are gone so she can't even visit us and...Ohhoho Anne! I miss you!
Eda, King and Archimedes looked at each other with uncomfortable looks.
King: Wow way to go Archy.
Archimedes: I didn't know it would upset him this much. I don't even know what he's talking about.
Eda approached Hop Pop.
Eda: ( pats his back) Uh there, there? I know goodbyes can suck but you know they're not always forever. I'm sure somehow, someday you may see this Anne again.
Hop Pop: ( sniffs) You really think so?
Eda: Eh maybe in a future story but we don't have time for that right now. King let's go.
Hop Pop: Wait hold on! You're going to stay here and fix my crops.
Eda: Oh we would but we have a crisis in our hands that involves the end of all worlds. You know what that's like. Anyway King let's go, it was nice meeting frog man, hope you see your kid again soon. Byyyyyyye!
King create another portal as they jump in leaving Hop Pop frustrated as Sprig and Polly enter.
Sprig: Hey Hop Pop. What just happened?
Hop Pop: ( sighs) Another crossover Sprig.
Polly: When are we going to get our own story!?
Several hostile worlds later.
A portal opened up in the middle of a road as the trio came out running as Eda was fighting the baboons from early.
Eda: Back! Back I say! Hiyah!
Eda throws the baboons into the portal as it closes as the trio breathed heavily.
Eda: ( panting) Okay, is everyone okay.
Archimedes: I can't. I can't do this anymore E! Every world that we went to has tried to kill us and for no reason! How did we even end up in the monkey planet three times, that's the worse one! Why does everyone want to kill us?! I can't take it anymore!
Eda slaps Archimedes in the face.
Archimedes: Thank you. I needed that.
King: So what world are we in now?
Then they heard a car honking. They look behind and see headlights coming.
Eda: Whoa look out!
Eda pulled Archimedes and King back as a car came by.
Driver: Watch where you're going grandma!
Eda: Grandma?! I'm only 40 and people say I look hot for my age! Wait a minute. A human, in a metal carriage, road rage. Could it be?
They followed the road as they found the town of Gravesfield.
Eda: This is it! This is the human realm! We made it!
Archimedes: Oh thank King. We're finally here.
King: Yeah because I cannot produce anymore blood on this hand.
Eda: Let's find Luz and save our world.
They make it to town but see people out in costumes.
Archimedes: What's going on here?
Eda: Oh right it's Halloween. It's a human holiday where they dress up, cause mischief and mayhem. I usually come every year to mess with people. This is good, we can search without worry of sticking out of the crowd.
King: You think Luz is somewhere in the crowd.
Eda: She has to be. Let's go.
The trio enter town and began searching.
We cut into town as we see Camila drop off Luz and her friends. Luz was dressed up as Azura with Amity as Hecate. The two had their staffs out to go with their costume since they were dressed as was dressed as a green devil with the boys dressed as characters from Cosmic Frontier. Hunter as Chief O'Bailey ( yellow uniform), Gus as Captain Avery ( red uniform) and Alex as Security Officer Quando ( blue uniform).
Camilla: Okay, I'll be back to pick you up at 11:00. Just stay in town and try not to cause too much trouble.
Luz: We know Mom.
Camilla nods and drives off.
Gus: This is so cool. I can't believe humans celebrate a holiday to dress up and scare people.
Luz: You guys look great. Really took the time to make your costumes great.
Hunter: That's right. I made mine with my own two hands.
Hunter shows his hands which are bandaged and scratched up.
Luz: Amity I know I always say you look beautiful, but you as my Hecate truly shine.
Amity: ( hugs her) Aw Batata I can say the same. You sure you're okay?
Luz: Yeah, as we discussed we'll fix the portal again tomorrow. Right now let's just enjoy the night and with my new palisman. Come on let's go to the festival.
The group enters the festival as there were many vendors, food stands and games. The first thing they came across was a recreation of the witch trials.
Inquisitor Jones actor: I hath seen the Mrs. Smith consorting with spirits unpure.
Judge actor 2: Is this true, Mrs. Smith?
Mrs. Smith actress: Nay, 'tis a fool lie! Inquisitor Jones is tarring me a demon's varlet so as to take mine fields!
Inquisitor Jones actor: Demon lies!
Gus goes in and intervenes the play.
Gus: Your honor, I do object! It is Inquisitor Jones who's in league with the dark forces!
Inquisitor Jones actor: (out of character) Kid come on, this is my spotlight.
Gus: Behold.
Gus uses illusion magic to turn his legs red and animal-like making him scream and run as the audience applauds thinking it's part of the show. That was until Jacob enters.
Jacob: Why are you clapping? These children are demon spawn and they want your teeth.
He snatches off Gus's headset showing his ears..
Jacob: Look at his ears. He's with the Robot men. Wait a minute, aren't you the same kid that stole my car?
But then two security guards run up and tackle Jacob to the ground.
Jacob: What are you doing? I'm not the enemy he is!
Security guard: Terry tase him.
Jacob: Wait what?
The other guard takes out taser and tases Jacob.
The next scene shifts to the group heading towards a haunted house. Luz and Amity who were behind Alex and Willow noticed the two holding hands.
Amity: Look at Willow and Alex.
Luz: I know. He finally told her after all this time.
Amity: Well Willow deserves a strong guy.
Alex: Okay Willow, don't worry about a thing. I'm right here if you get scared.
Willow: Okay Alex. I'll be right by you.
They enter the haunted house as there were some spooky decorations and strobe lights.
Alex: Oh please this isn't scary.
But then a prop spider came down in front of them as Alex screamed like a girl. They keep walking through the house as other scary props or people in costume pop out as Alex kept screaming like a girl. As they were exiting out Willow was holding Alex in her arms as he shivered.
Willow: Okay you get off me now.
Alex gets off of Willow.
Alex: Uh yeah. It definitely wasn't scary I was just uh, testing your arm strength. Pretty strong sprouts.
Luz: Or Alex needs a strong girl.
We then cut to the group now in the open crowd eating a bag of kettle corn.
Luz: So what should we do now?
Amity: We could go bobbing for apples.
Willow: No, what about the haunted hay ride.
Gus: I think the costume contest is going to start soon.
Hunter listened while munching on some kettle corn when he heard some people behind praising someone's costume.
Guy 1: Whoa nice costume.
Guy 2: That is so detailed.
Girl: What are you supposed to be?
Hunter turns around to see what was happening and saw Shadam looking at him. He looked in horror and choked on a piece of kettle corn.
Luz: I think there's a spot where we can make our own treats.
Hunter tapped Luz on the shoulder.
Luz: You have an idea Hunter?
Hunter a coughed a bit as he pointed at the direction he saw Shadam.
Luz: You okay there?
Hunter: ( gasps) There.
Luz: What?
Hunter looked back and Shadam was gone.
Hunter: Where'd he go? He was right there.
Luz: Who?
Hunter: I...( whispers) I saw Shadam.
Luz: What?
Hunter: I knew I saw something familiar before I should have known. Shadam is here.
Luz: Are you sure or did you see someone coincidently dressed like him?
Hunter: No it was him I know it.
Shadam: Your eyes do not deceive you.
Hunter gasped as he just heard his voice.
Hunter: Did you hear that?
Luz: Hear what?
Shadam: Golden Guard, don't ignore me. I know where your hideout is and the one who looks after you. Meet me south from here in the woods in ten minutes. Alone.
Hunter: He's here. We have to stop him!
Hunter runs off.
Luz: Hunter wait!
Amity: Is everything alright?
Luz: I don't know. Hold on.
Luz runs after him.
We cut to Luz's house where we see Vee handing out candy to trick or treaters. She enters back inside passing by Howl who was sitting near the couch with Camila who was watching tv. His ears perk up as he seems to sense something and started to bark.
Camila: What's wrong baby?
Howl sprung up and ran to the front door, clawing it to get out.
Camila: Maybe he needs to use the bathroom?
Vee: I don't think palisman need to use the bathroom.
Camila: Maybe someone's there.
Camila takes out her bat just in case. She opens the door and though there was no one there, Howl ran out of the house.
Camila: Howl wait! ( groans) Let's go get him.
Camila and Vee get in the car as they search for Howl.
We cut back to Luz who was in the woods but lost track of Hunter. Since she was away from public, this allowed Stringbean to come to life and rested around her neck.
Luz: Hunter? Hunter? ( groans) Where is he? It's so dark I can't see anything.
Stringbean made a small hissing sound trying to talk to her.
Luz: What? I would but I can't. It doesn't' work here. Wait.
Luz began to remember her first time using a glyph in the human world it didn't work but the other day when she was doodling glyphs and placed her hand on the fire one, she felt it warm like it was about to activate.
Luz: Does it?
Took out the light glyph and uses it. To her surprise it worked.
Luz: I can use glyphs here? Wait but...the Eye.
Luz looked at the Eye that was in her fanny pack.
Luz: The glyphs are connected to the power of the isles, to the Titan himself. Because the Eye contains his power I'm still connected.
Stringbean hisses in response.
Luz: Wish I figured that out sooner but then I guess I wouldn't have my epiphany so you can hatch.
Luz scratches Stringbean's head as the latter nuzzles to her face.
Luz used her light glyphs to shine the area to find Hunter. It wasn't long after until she found him. He saw him with his staff in hand.
Luz: Hey.
Hunter turned to her.
Hunter: ( sighs) Don't sneak up on me like that.
Luz: Did you find anything?
Hunter: No, but I know he's here.
Shadam: I'm closer than you think.
They both heard the voice with Luz having a fearful look. They looked over to their left and saw Shadam leaning on a tree.
Luz: No.
Shadam: It's been sometime Luz.
Luz: It can't be. Christa took you down. Way down.
Shadam: Oh please. Your friend failed at that and somehow sent me here to your world. I've been watching you two for a while now, waiting for the right time to strike. I demand you send me back to the Boiling Isles.
Luz: We can't.
Shadam: Of course, you blew up the portal. But I don't need that. Hand me the Eye.
Luz: You can't have it.
Hunter: Why do you want it? We can't get it to work properly.
Shadam: Of course you can't. The two of you lack magic. I however am one of the last living members of the monks of Zabi. We were dedicated to the Titan. Give it to me and I will open the portal.
Luz: But Christa entrusted it to me.
Shadam: Then she made a mistake. I don't know what it was that made her think you could be trusted with the Eye.
Hunter: She gave her the Eye because she trusted her. She tried to save us!
Luz: Shadam listen. Belos ruined the Boiling Isles. The place is taken over by an evil titan. He lied to you and everyone.
Shadam's eyes glow and fired an eye beam at Luz. Hunter using his staff teleported and grabbed Luz to avoid the attack.
Shadam: How dare you talk about him like that?
Luz: It's the truth. He unleashed Keizer to the demon realm.
Hunter: He used you and me to accomplish that goal.
Shadam shot another eye beam at Hunter which he avoided teleporting.
Hunter: Are you that delusional Shadam?
Shadam: I am loyal to the Emperor. I served my time with him to build his empire. Our system. Our way of life. To serve justice for the crimes against the wild witches who destroyed the monks of Zabi and took the life of Dozzle. You two are guilty for conspiricing against the empire and terrorism!
Luz: He lied to you! Whatever happened to your family, he did it!
Shadam: I've heard enough from you!
Shadam threw a purple fire ball at Luz. She took out an earth glyph and formed a wall. The blast destroyed the wall but Luz using an invisibility glyph appeared visible from behind and used a fire glyph on him. Shadam fell forward as he swiped his arm across her head knocking her down and her Azura wig and cape. Shadam was about to stomp down on her until Hunter appeared in front of him and kicked him across the face. Hunter shot multiple rays of magic projectiles at Shadam. The latter shielded himself with his arms up.
Amity: Luz!
Joining the two were Amity, Willow, Gus and Alex.
Alex: What's going on? You were taking forever so...hey isn't that one of the Legion of Five guys. ( giggles) I said Five guys.
Amity: Shadam!
Willow: He's here too?
Gus: What have you done to them?
Shadam: You back away. My main targets are these two here.
Amity: ( helping Luz up) No one touches my Luz.
Luz: We beat you before, we can beat you again.
Shadam: Beat me? Beat me. ( looks down) Beat me...
Shadam began to chuckle which then turned into a maniacal laugh. The Hexsquad didn't know where this was going as they stood together and had their staffs up.
Shadam: You beat me is what you said. You specifically beat me? As far as I remembered none of you stood a chance against me. The only reason you made it out that night was because of your friend. She possessed an unnatural amount of power for a girl her age. I should have known she was using something like that Eye to enhance her power. I've fought witches using galder stones and those fail in comparison of what she used. Her using the Eye is what beat me. But even then she still failed to kill me, bringing me here only for me to kill you all tonight. She only delayed your inevitable doom. Without that power she's just as weak as the rest of you.
Hunter: You take that back.
Shadam: Oh did I touch a nerve there. Is it because you failed to save your girlfriend?
Hunter growled and teleported behind Shadam about to hit him, he however sensed him coming and punched Hunter to the ground. Shadam set his focus on Amity and fired his eye beam at her. She deflected the attack with her staff as the others took flight while Shadam brought his hands together forming a magic beam around his right arm into a magic arm blade. Amity formed abomination goo as a fire glyph and shot a fire blast Shadam as he stopped it with his own purple fire blast from his hands. Gus came flying at him, Shadam slashed at him but turned out to be an illusion as more illusions of Gus came circling around him.
Gus: Hey Shadam. Remember me.
Shadam slashed at another illusion of Gus. As he disappeared Alex appeared in front of him with a stone fist and punched Shadam in the face, causing him to step back. Alex rocket launched both stone fists at Shadam. He eye beamed the attacks causing them to explode but then thorny vines formed by Willow came out of the ground and constricted Shadam. Luz using a lightning glyph fired Shadam as he was hit by the impact and fell to the ground. The Hexsquad surrounded him as he was on his knees.
Gus: Whoa that's it? I remembered this harder.
Hunter: Why do you think he's wearing those rags. He doesn't have his armor anymore.
Shadam: You fools. I do not need the magic armor to defeat you.
Luz: Do you remember what you said before? You said if we couldn't beat you, we couldn't beat Belos.
Shadam: What? No, that can't be.
Luz: He's gone Shadam and so are the rest of your friends.
Shadam: Even Selene?
Hunter: Just stop what you're doing.
Shadam: I will never, surrendor to wild witches.
Shadam was breathing heavily as electric waves formed around his body.
Luz: He's doing it again.
Hunter: Luz together!
Luz and Hunter both used a lightning glyph on Shadam, but the impact let out a strong magic wave forcing everyone back, with Amity losing her cape, wig and hat of her costume.
Once they got back up, Shadam was on his feet again, free from his binds and his eyes were red as he appeared to be back in his rage state, but this time he didn't look so tensed up like he was before but looked almost normal except for the eyes and the electric waves that would form around his body now and then.
Amity: No, he's back in his enraged form.
Hunter: Wait there's something different about it.
Shadam: That's right Golden Guard. During my time here I finally had the chance to properly channel my power. Before it was pure rage that awoken it. Though it made me strong, it also made lose control of myself. Until now that is. I am now stronger and in control!
Luz was about to use another lightning glyph on Shadam, but then he moved at high speed and grabbed her arm, snatching the glyph off her. Amity saves her by throwing abomination goo at Shadam trapping him in. It didn't last long as he broke free with his purple fire.
While still stuck in goo, Alex slammed his fists to the ground as two rock cylinders from his left and right came out of the ground and tried to crush him, but Shadam broke free in time and avoided the attack. He ran at Alex and threw many punches at him. Alex tried blocking with his stone fists but could barely keep up. Shadam placed his hand on Alex's chest and let out an energy wave at him knocking him down.
Willow: Hey no one does that to my boyfriend!
Willow ( in the air on her staff) formed more vines and out came with them was a giant venus fly trap monster. It roared at Shadam and seemed to have ate him in one bite. But the plant monster bursts into purple flames. It got so hot Willow had to back away a bit. Shadam jumped out of the flames and up to her. He formed his fists together and hits Willow down the head, knocking her off her staff.
Luz: Willow!
Luz used a plant glyph to form a large flower for Willow to land on safely. Shadam was about to come for Luz until Gus came down at him as Shadam tried to punch him but turned out to be an illusion. More Gus illusions circled him to confuse him. Shadam yelled out as he spun purple fire all around getting rid of the illusions and getting the real Gus, causing him to fall off his staff and held his arm from the burn.
Amity came at him next. She formed an abomination spear at him and fired at him. He formed his magic arm blade and cuts it in half. He came up at Amity as he tried slashing her. She blocked his attacks and then formed an abomination behind him and grabbed hold of formed an abomination sword and was about to stab him with it. Shadam eye beamed near her feet making her stop, allowing him to break free with his strength.
He charged at Amity punching her in the stomach. Amity dropped both her staff and lost control of her sword, holding her stomach gasping for air. Shadam grabbed her by her hair and pulled her up to his face. Amity yelled out with the strain of her hair being pulled as Shadam formed a purple fireball on his other hand about to use it on her. Luz used a water glyph and formed a wave of water at Shadam making him let go of Amity. Luz rushed to her to help her up.
Luz saw Shadam get back up and used a lightning glyph on him. He dodged the attack and came at Luz high speed grabbing her by the face and kicking Amity away from her.
Amity: Luz.
Shadam: How do you wish to die human? Crush your skull or incineration?
But then he felt a slap on his back and fire igniting. Shadam dropped Luz and he turned around and saw it was caused by Hunter. He eye beamed him but Hunter warped behind him to get Luz and warped again away from him.
Hunter: I got you.
Luz: Thanks.
Shadam: Why you...
But then Howl appeared biting onto Shadam's arm.
Luz: Howl?
Shadam growled as he tried to shake Howl off. Howl got off and joined Luz.
Shadam: You wretched mutt!
But then a light was shining at Shadam. He turned to his right when suddenly he was hit by a car. Coming out was Camilla and Vee.
Camilla: Oh my god! I didn't see him. Oh I am so going to jail.
Luz: Mom?
Camilla: Luz? What are you doing out here?
Luz: What are you doing here?
Vee: Howl ran out of the house and we were trying to follow where he was going. Uh what is that?
Luz: Uh you remember the Legion of Five I told you about?
We heard Shadam grunt as he got up.
Alex: Oh how durable is this guy?
Shadam: Who did that?
Shadam turned to Camilla and Vee.
Luz: Mom run!
Shadam: Ah so this is your mother. Then perhaps she can bare witness as I take the life of her brat.
Camilla gasps as Vee steps up.
Vee: You stay back.
Vee stepped up and she tried inhaling to suck the magic out Shadam. At first seemed to be working as Shadam fell to his knees feeling the magic being drained. He tried to eyebeam her but his beams got sucked in. He placed his hand on the ground and let out a magic wave shaking the ground like an earthquake. This caused Vee to lose balance stop her inhaling. Shadam got up quick and at high speed came at Vee from behind and karate chopped the back of her neck, knocking her out.
Camilla: Vee!
Shadam: I forgot about your basilisk. I don't know how it got over here but she can die with the rest of you.
Hunter warped in front of him and placed an ice glyph on the ground. The ice spike came at Shadam's face as he swiftly avoided the attack while Hunter grabbed Camilla who was holding Vee and warped the two with the others.
Shadam: I am really getting tired of you doing that!
Shadam moved at high speed at Hunter. Hunter didn't see him coming as Shadam grabbed him by his neck and ran a few feet away from the group. He stopped in his tracks and snatched Hunter's staff from his hands and throws it aside.
Shadam: Now I have you to myself.
Luz: Hunter!
Luz and the others ran to him. Shadam shot a blast of purple flames from his hands at the ground forming a huge fire wall ring.
Luz: Hunter!
Meanwhile.
We cut back to Eda, King and Archimedes looking for Luz.
Eda: Luz?
King: Luz?
Archimedes: Luz? Where are you? Where can she be?
King: She has to be here. But all these humans look the same.
Eda: If only there was somekind of sign.
Archimedes: Wait you mean like that?
Archimedes pointed at the distance a purple glow further away from the town and in the woods.
Eda: That'll do it.
We cut back inside the ring of fire as Shadam continued strangling Hunter.
Shadam: Now then.
Shadam punched Hunter in the stomach, causing him to cough blood and throws him to the ground.
Shadam: I have you all to myself Hunter and I'm goint to enjoy my revenge.
Hunter got up as he took out a couple glyphs. Shadam however came at him and grabbed his wrist. He began crushing his hand as Hunter yelled out. Shadam punched him again in the stomach and then across the face knocking him down.
Shadam: Where is your girlfriend now? Dead because of you.
Hunter looked at him with anger and tears in his eyes. He got up and tried punching him. Shadam however kept blocking them effortlessly until he caught one of his fists and kicks him down.
Shadam: No one is going to save you this time Hunter.
Shadam formed his right arm into a magic arm blade again.
Shadam: No one.
Outside of the fire Luz took out one of her water glyphs and tried to form a wave of water. But when she used it on the purple flames it didn't put out but rather the water evaporated and the flames expanded making everyone back.
Luz: What's going on?
Amity: He must have put a spell on it! Water won't put it out.
Alex formed the dirt from the ground and also tried to use it put it out but did nothing. Willow and Gus flew up and tried to find a way in the flames were too large and was too hot to go near except for a small opening but none of them could enter.
Willow: It's too hot!
Though they couldn't see Shadam and Hunter clearly, they could see the silouhettes behind the fire as Shadam kept beating and slashing Hunter.
Luz: Hunter!
Alex: Below! Let's go below!
Alex and Willlow used their magic to dig through the ground.
We cut back inside the fire. Hunter was on his knees. His arms were cut with blood all over hands. Shadam grabbed him by his hair and pulled him up to him. He slashed across Hunter's face. Hunter yelled as he was dropped on the ground, covering his face. When he uncovered he had a diagonal bloody cut across his face. Before he could do anything else he was kicked across the face.
Hunter: Shadam...stop.
Shadam punched Hunter to the ground.
Shadam: No Hunter. I won't stop. Not now, not ever.
Shadam grabs Hunter by his hair and pulls him up to his face.
Shadam: This is revenge, for always humiliating me. Interfering with my mission. Making me look bad in front of the Emperor! You always made a fool out of me!
Shadam throws Hunter to the ground as he coughed more blood.
Hunter: I...I know. I was selfish. Arrogant. Spiteful to you guys and a jerk. I only cared about pleasing Belos. To prove to him I was worth something to him. But I was wrong. It was all a lie and my actions didn't almost cause a rift with my friends, but they also hurt you. I'm sorry.
Shadam looked at him for a moment, but then he grabbed him by his neck.
Shadam: You want to make it up to me. You can by allowing me to take your life! And I'm going to take great pleasure of killing you slowly.
Shadam undose his arm blade and places two fingers at Hunter's shoulder. He shoots out a beam that pierces through Hunter's shoulder. Hunter flies off his hands and onto the ground. He covered his shoulder screaming in agony. Shadam stomped his foot onto Hunter's chest, crushing his ribs as Hunter felt them cracking and coughed more blood.
Shadam: For the crimes you committed against Emperor Belos and the Monks of Zabi, it is my duty to serve justice!
Shadam pointed his finger at Hunter's shoulder wound and continued firing the beam, burning him, chuckling at the sounds of Hunter's screams. Just then the ground opens up as Luz and the others finally make it. Flapjack flies head on at Shadam pecking at his head. Shadam getting annoyed grabbed Flapjack.
Hunter: Flapjack!
Luz: Stop!
Shadam held Flapjack tight as he snapped his fingers with his other hand to put out the fire wall seeing it's no longer needed.
Shadam: Your staffs! Drop them or they both die.
Luz and the others looked at each other what to do.
Shadam: NOW!
Luz dropped her staff as did the others. Shadam looks down at Hunter was choking on his blood, gurgling trying to call for Flapjack.
Shadam: You want him. Take him.
Shadam lowers his hand with Flapjack to Hunter. Hunter reached out for Flapjack, but then Shadam clenched his fist with his sharp nails stabbing Flapjack letting out a chirp as everyone gasped.
Luz: No!
Hunter: Flap!
Shadam drops Flapjack next to Hunter. Flapjack was wounded with palisman essence leaking out of him letting out a weak chirp. Hunter was gasping while letting out a small cry.
Hunter: Flapjack...no...why?
Shadam: Do you feel that Hunter? That feeling of pain and loss? That's exactly how I felt when you wild witches destroyed my home and killed the man I saw as a father. You took everything from and I want you to feel exactly what I felt right before I kill you!
Luz: You monster!
Luz got onto her staff and flew at Shadam, ramming into him and getting off Hunter.
Luz: You monster! How could you? How could you?!
Shadam grabbed Luz and threw her to the ground. He formed his magic arm blade once more jabbed it at Luz. She shut her eyes about to be stabbed. She heard a stabbing sound and some blood sprinkled onto her face, but she didn't feel any pain. She opened her eyes and gasped to her horror. Hunter had shielded her and took the fatal blow through the chest.

Author's Note: That's it for this chapter. I'm finally back. Sorry it's been a while. I was first focusing my attention on my Halloween side story " Tales of Terror in Gravesfield" be sure to check that out if you haven't or wait after this is done which ever way you like it. After that I just got tired, this chapter was really exhausting to write that it needed my full attention but I kept getting tired and with the holidays around the corner I've really busy at work.
