Chapter Eleven: Trouble in the Pride Lands
All the excitement in the lair abruptly ended when an ominous, mocking laugh echoed through the air.
Janja: "Hahahahahaha!" His voice was unmistakable.
Kion: "That must be Janja. Ono, see what's going on." He growled, his expression turning serious.
Ono: "Affirmative." He replied, flapping his wings as he soared out of the lair.
He flew high above the Pride Lands, scanning the horizon with his keen sight. His heart sank when he spotted a herd of zebras running for their lives, chased relentlessly by Janja and his pack.
Ono: "Hapana!" He exclaimed, his voice filled with urgency.
He pivoted midair and darted back to the lair.
Ono: "Kion, Janja and his hyenas are chasing a herd of zebras!" His tone was sharp, reflecting the gravity of the situation.
Kion: "Then we must go." He nodded firmly.
Bongo: "I'll come too." He said, stepping forward eagerly.
Bobo: "Bongo, you just got your memories back. I think you should stay here." He placed a hand on his brother's shoulder, his voice filled with concern.
Bongo: "But I want to help." He protested, his determination clear.
Kion: "Bobo's right, Bongo. We don't want to risk you getting hurt again." He shook his head.
Bongo: "But…" He hesitated, his gaze darting between his brother and Kion.
Fuli: "Bongo, it's okay. We'll go take care of the hyenas. I need you to stay in the lair, okay?" She stepped closer, her voice soft but firm.
Bongo: *sighs* "Okay, I'll stay." He sighed, reluctantly nodding.
Fuli: *purrs* "I'll be back soon." She smiled and gave him a gentle nuzzle, followed by a quick lick on his cheek.
Bongo: "Alright. Be careful." He managed a small smile in return.
Bobo climbed onto Fuli's back, glancing back at his parents.
Amara: "Stay safe, Bobo." She called out, her voice full of motherly concern.
Bobo: "Yes, Mom." He replied before turning his focus forward.
Kion: "Alright, Lion Guard, let's go. Till the Pride Lands' end!" He raised his head, his voice commanding.
Bunga, Fuli, Ono, and Beshte: "Lion Guard defend!" They shouted in unison as they charged out of the lair, with Bobo joining their ranks.
As the Lion Guard and Bobo raced to help the zebras, Bongo watched them go, a conflicted look on his face. Deep down, he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to be out there too.
Bongo: "I can't just sit back and do nothing. I've got to help my friends." He thought, his resolve hardening.
After a moment of contemplation, Bongo devised a plan.
Bongo: "Um, Mom, Dad. I'm going to go... uh... pee real quick." He said casually, turning to his parents.
Amara: "Okay, but don't take too long." She nodded, her attention still focused on the lair's entrance.
Bakari: "And come right back here once you're done." He added firmly.
Bongo: "Okay." He said, nodding quickly.
The moment their attention wavered, he darted out of the lair, determination etched on his face. He knew he had to help his friends, no matter what.
