Chapter 2: The Grand Opening

Meanwhile in the Mushroom Kingdom, it was a bright, sunny day. All of the Toad Citizens and Residents were getting ready for the kingdom's opening for the brand new museum titled "The Local History of The Mushroom Kingdom." With the years of the Mario Brothers, Mario and Luigi, being the kingdom's heroes, all of its neighborhood royalties all agreed that the brothers should be the ones to introduce it on its grand opening day.

"Can you believe it, Luigi?" Mario, the oldest of the brothers, explained with excitement. "You and me, opening up the Mushroom Kingdom's first ever museum? It feels like we hit a milestone!" Luigi responded. "I just can't believe that it's been years since we protected the princess and her kingdom!" The younger brother put on his iconic green cap while continuing. "I feel like it's been almost five decades, but to each their own." The two brothers shared a chuckle.

"So, you're nervous, little bro?" The oldest Mario asked his brother, but Luigi shook his head.

"Nah, as long as I got you and Peach, I think I'll be alright." The red plumber smiled big. "Good because she was already planning on inviting Daisy over for The Grand Opening!" The Green Mario began to feel flustered.

"D-Daisy?" Everyone who knew Luigi was aware of his crush on the Sarasaland Princess, but could never admit his feelings for her. While the two did enjoy spending time together, the younger Mario Brother couldn't just confess that he liked her due to his constant shyness around her. In addition, it got to where he felt that Daisy only saw him as an awkward freak that it ended up dropping his self-confidence.

"Oh Mario, no, I can't! I just can't!" Luigi began to panic.

"What are you talking about, Luigi?" The older Mario asked, raising an eyebrow.

"You know Daisy has been my crush since we first met."

"Yes, and you know her long enough, right?" Luigi panicked even more.

"That's not the point, the point is because since we're gonna be at the grand opening of the museum, now I gotta make sure I'm not a nervous wreck in front of her or everyone else!" Now feeling anxious, the younger brother began to have a panic attack. Mario, luckily, was able to calm him down.

"Luigi, bro, it's alright. Nothing bad will happen." The scared sibling perked up. "You sure?" Mario nodded.

"Luigi, we've been through much worse stuff since arriving in the Mushroom Kingdom. Being nervous about one grand opening, whether Daisy appears or not, isn't going to change anything." Relieved by his brother's protection and loyalty, the green plumber spread a smile and hugged him in return.

"I know I can always count on you, no matter what happens." Mario smiled and hugged Luigi in return.

"No matter what happens."

Later on, at Princess Peach's castle, the princess herself was getting ready for the opening and was applauded to see multiple people around her neighborhood come and join the celebration. Whether they be Toads, Yoshis, or the Kongs from the Jungle Kingdom.

"Everything looks so perfect!" Peach cheered. "So many people from all around the kingdoms are just as excited as we are, Toadsworth!" She exclaimed, turning her attention to her mentioned steward, who could only nod in response due to being busy with something else.

"Yes yes, indeed your Majesty." The senior Toad sophisticatedly agreed.

"Toadsworth," Peach began to question him. "Are you sure you can't make it on time?"

"Unfortunately Princess, this project that I'm currently working on is very important at the moment. Don't worry though, I'll make it just in time for the reception." With no other answer, the Princess of the Mushroom Kingdom smiled gently and curtsied at her steward.

"Just send down the Toad Brigade and Toadette once you're all done with them." The kingdom's horns blew, signaling Peach. "I gotta go now, good luck Toadsworth!" With the kingdom's ruler now gone, Toadsworth quietly looked around to see if the coast was clear.

"Toadette, send in the Brigade." He ordered the pink female Toad as he looked down at what appeared in his hand to be a mushroom-shaped box.
