Take a Break for Heaven's Sake
Warning: Love Scene
The aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the kitchen as Jason made his way into his parent's house, a comforting backdrop to the quiet hum of the October evening.
"Hey! Anybody home?" he called out into the seemingly empty house until his dad peeked around the corner of the kitchen.
"Oh hey, Jase!" Mark said as he sat down at the table with a hot cup of of coffee and his military boots. "What brings you here?"
Jason strolled into the kitchen. Still wearing his shop clothes, he felt out of place against his dad's comfortable sweater, track pants, and slippers. "Just came to get a few of my documents from mom's file cabinet, some older tax stuff that I don't have. Is it still in the office?"
"Yeah everything's where it's always been, you really should take all your stuff to your place," Mark answered. "Want a coffee while you're here?"
"Thanks, that sounds good. I'll be right back." Soon Jason returned with a couple of file folders tucked under his arm to find a steaming cup of coffee waiting on the counter for him while his dad sat at the table, meticulously polishing his boots. Jason leaned against the countertop, taking a long sip, his brow creased in a thoughtful frown.
Mark looked up and saw the strain on his son's face. "Something on your mind, Jase?"
"Only a lot, Dad," Jason sighed, his voice heavy. "Just since Kelsi got the new job, she's been really stressed and super hard on herself. I know she loves teaching, but with the wedding planning on top of it..." He trailed off, shaking his head, "it's just draining her." Mark nodded in understanding.
"New beginnings are exciting," he said, his voice warm, "but they can also be overwhelming."
"Not just that she's tired, but it's been hard to stay connected with her, being away for these past two weeks and more training from now until Christmas." Jason hesitated, a hint of frustration in his tone. "I guess I wish she would let me do more to help. I think because I'm away a lot for November, she's not bothering to ask for my help. I guess she can't count on me."
Mark dipped his cloth into the shoe polish and continued as he spoke. "As long as you're doing your best, son, that's what matters. If she won't let you help with the wedding, maybe you can help another way.
"How?"
"Help her relax. Offer a change of scenery, a break from the heavy load. Maybe Kelsi needs you to remind her it doesn't have to be go go go all the time. Be there for her on the things that are time sensitive and help her relax on the stuff that isn't." His eyes twinkled with a hint of mischief. "Speaking of which, I got the bike back from the shop today. All tuned up and ready to roll. The Balloon Fiesta's this weekend. Why don't you take Kelsi out for a spin? Head down to the festival for a night out, just the two of you."
Jason's face lit up. "That's a great idea, Dad, but I don't know if she'll go for it." His voice trailed off, an expression of uncertainty following another sip of his coffee.
Mark put down his gleaming boots and took his empty coffee cup to the dishwasher. "It'll do you both good. A chance to reconnect, to remember why you're doing all this in the first place. Focus on your young love." He paused, his voice softening. "The open road, the wind in your hair... it's good for the soul."
"Thanks, Dad," Jason replied, "I'll think about it."
The clock ticked past five, marking the end of another long day and a long week. Kelsi sighed, filing away a stack of graded papers in her school desk before packing up her things for the day. A wave of exhaustion washed over her as she spied her wedding planning notebook in her bag. It felt like all she did these days was juggle lesson plans and menu choices. And then there was finalizing the guest list now that responses were coming in, and her ever daunting wedding dress shopping. The notebook itself seemed to mock her, its colourful tabs a testament to the endless to-do lists that swirled in her mind. Just as she turned for the door, her phone buzzed with an incoming call from Jason.
"Hey, babe," she answered, a tired smile playing on her lips. She pictured him just hopping out of the shower, cleaned up and clean shaved, ready to help her tackle the mountain of wedding tasks.
"Hey, Kels. I'm just getting dressed. Listen, I was thinking..." Jason's voice sounded hesitant, unusual for him.
A flicker of worry crossed Kelsi's mind. "Yeah?" she prompted, her smile fading.
"The Balloon Fiesta's starting tonight. How about if we go for a ride? You know, just a break for the two of us."
Kelsi's heart sank. "Tonight? Jason, you were supposed to help me finalize the catering options tonight. Did you forget?" She looked helplessly at the open notebook, its pages filled with menus and price comparisons.
"No I didn't. I know it's important, but we haven't had a night out in weeks. Just us, the open road, the balloons..."
"The balloons can wait," Kelsi retorted, her voice rising slightly. "The caterer can't, we have to have the menu selection in by next week."
Jason sighed. "Honey, you've been doing so much alongside working. You deserve a break. As you said, the caterer isn't due until next week and the wedding's not until July. We still have plenty of time."
"I also deserve to enjoy our wedding day without feeling overwhelmed from handling everything." Kelsi sighed, her voice heavy with exhaustion.
"Kels… I'm sorry about being away for training, I know that's been hard, but still, I can't help you if you won't let me," he said softly, but his words stung.
She knew he had tried to help, but her organized tendencies had taken charge on the planning, wanting everything to be perfect for them. She had barely relinquished the honeymoon to him with reluctance when he'd asked to plan it as a surprise for her. Even though it was her own doing, she still felt like she was carrying the weight of their wedding on her shoulders alone. A beat of silence hung in the air.
"Look, let me help you tonight by giving you a break and then we can tackle whichever task you want tomorrow," Jason said finally, his voice low. "Please, baby, say yes and meet me at my parent's house."
Her shoulders slumped as she sunk into the seat of her car. Jason was right; she was exhausted, and the wedding was still a long way away. A night out under the glowing balloons did sound tempting. With a sigh, she turned the key. "Alright, yes, I'll be there," she said and hung up. Maybe a motorcycle ride wasn't such a bad idea after all. As she turned her car towards home, she couldn't help but smile. Perhaps this was exactly what she needed.
The sedan's engine cut out with a soft hum as Jason wiped the dust off two helmets in the garage. Kelsi's arrival always brightened his day, but as she stepped out of the car, he was struck speechless. The low evening sunlight danced off her brown curls, the golden undertones glowing and catching his eye. She slipped a brown leather jacket over her vibrant t-shirt, her skinny jeans tucked into sleek calf-high boots with a low wedge heel. Jason's gaze traced her form, a mix of admiration and surprise. He couldn't believe how effortlessly she pulled off every outfit, how those legs looked endless when she wore heels. As she drew closer, a flutter of nerves stirred within him. He'd always felt a sense of freedom and recklessness on a motorcycle, but riding with someone he cared about introduced a new element: vulnerability. The thought of her safety, of the possibility of something going wrong, sent a shiver down his spine. Yet, there was still a thrill, a sense of adventure that he couldn't deny.
She strolled up to his side and stood on her toes to kiss his cheek, their bodies pressing close in a warm contrast to the cooler fall air. "Well, don't you look hot in that jacket," Kelsi said with a smile as she took him in. Dark jeans paired with a grey shirt sat under his lightly armoured leather jacket, and he stood a bit taller in his black motorcycle boots. He pulled her closer and laid a deep kiss on her lips, slipping his hands into her back pockets.
"Thanks, those sexy heels aren't exactly safe, but they'll do," he replied with a smirk.
Kelsi received the helmet and gloves he passed to her and twirled a piece of her hair as they neared the bike. "Are you sure you're comfortable taking me on the back of this thing? Can you balance?" Looking over the Kawasaki, it didn't look like it could hold the both of them. As much as she knew about cars, she knew nothing about bikes and it made her nervous.
"Of course, babe, just hang on tight to me," Jason said with a smile as he swung his leg over the seat and prepared to start it up. "And watch your leg on the tailpipe, it gets hotter than you and we've got a little ways to go."
Kelsi smiled at his compliment and jumped when he turned the powerful engine over. Slipping on his helmet, he gestured for her to do the same and patted the seat behind him. She stepped on the foot-peg, swung her leg over the seat, and settled in behind him, accidentally smacking her own helmet against his.
He turned with a smile that she could just barely see around the helmet. "You ready?" he called over the purr of the engine as he knocked the kickstand back. She nodded eagerly, wrapping her arms around his waist. He snapped his visor down. "Then hang on, honey."
With a few quick revs of the throttle, Jason eased the bike out onto the street and took off. When they reached the first stoplight that would take them out into the city, he leaned back and offered an inquisitive thumbs up to Kelsi. She nodded and cinched her arms tightly around his chest. He squeezed her hands to acknowledge that he got the memo, then let his hand drift down to the underside of her knee, offering a tender massage that started to turn her on. When the light turned green, he gave her thigh a sensual squeeze before clicking the gears and taking off again with practiced ease.
The wind roared in Kelsi's ears, a symphony of raw power that seemed to vibrate through her bones. She clung tightly to Jason, her heart pounding in her chest as they sped down a rural road. The desert landscape, a vast expanse of sun-baked earth and rugged mountains, blurred past in a kaleidoscope of colours. As they ascended a familiar winding mountain road, the air grew crisp and cool, a welcome respite in the desert sun. When they crested the hill, a breathtaking panorama unfolded before them. The sky was filling with colour, hundreds of hot air balloons lifting into the air like a celestial carnival. The sky, once a canvas of blue, was now transformed into a masterpiece of colour and light, the New Mexico Balloon Fiesta in full swing tonight.
As Jason pulled to a stop at the secluded lookout point, a wave of wonder rushed through Kelsi's veins. With fingers trembling slightly from the adrenaline rush, she removed her helmet, revealing her flushed cheeks and disheveled hair.
Jason followed suit, shaking out his shaggy dark hair before turning to admire the breathtaking view. The sun was beginning its descent, casting long, dancing shadows across the landscape as they dismounted, the wind carrying the distant sounds from the festival below. They strolled to the railing, leaning over it with their helmets dangling from their hands as the sun cast a golden glow over the sea of balloons.
Kelsi's gaze was drawn to a particularly vibrant one, its colours a kaleidoscope of reds, oranges, and yellows. "Wow, I remember watching this as a kid with my family, but we never came up here," she said, her voice filled with nostalgia. "We'd always try to find the biggest balloon and make a wish."
Jason nodded as he drifted back to his own memories with his family. "My grandparents would take Andrew and I up here every year, best seats in the house to see it all. I remember once, I got so excited that I almost went right over this railing."
Kelsi laughed. "That sounds like something you would do."
"Hey," Jason protested playfully. "I was just a kid." He reached for her hand, his fingers intertwining with hers and running over her sparkling engagement ring on her finger. They stood in silence for a long moment, simply taking in the beauty of the scene. The world felt so small from their vantage point, yet so filled with wonder.
"I'm glad you agreed to this, Kels. You needed a break to relax."
"Yeah, you're right, I did. I'm sorry for getting mad at you. I know you've tried to help, but I just want the day to be perfect…"
"I get it. We guys are typically really bad at wedding stuff, but just ask me if there's something you need, okay? We always have to be a team. Besides, I'm already well on the way to dazzling you for our honeymoon, so you can trust me to help you."
Kelsi smiled and released a heavy sigh, the beautiful sight in the sky helping her leave all the planning and worry behind. Not to mention the strong hand making its way around her back to pull her close by her hip. Jason leaned in and placed a gentle kiss on her temple, encouraging the last of her stress to subside.
"My feet are killing me," Kelsi complained, wiggling her toes in her boots.
Jason chuckled at her little feet. "You look good in those though." His gaze tracked up her legs, affectionate as always. "Let's go back to the bike," Jason suggested, "your tender toes can take a break."
They walked back to the motorcycle, Kelsi hopping onto the rear seat first. Jason sat on his seat to face her, resting his hands on her hips. Their lips met, moving in perfect harmony as their bodies pressed together in a moment of pure intimacy. Kelsi wrapped her arms around Jason's neck, her fingers tangling in his hair. As their kiss deepened, she felt a rush of warmth and contentment. She knew that she was with the man of her dreams, and she couldn't imagine spending her life with anyone else.
Jason pulled her closer, his heart pounding rapidly. She fit perfectly against his chest, a connection that was meant to last a lifetime. He had never felt so sure of anything. As they pulled apart, their foreheads pressed together.
"I love you, babe," Kelsi whispered.
"I love you too," Jason replied, his voice filled with tenderness. They sat in silence for a moment, their hearts racing. Kelsi ran her hands back over his shoulders, the soft leather sending an intimate message through her fingertips that made her feel an aching for the man under the armoured coat.
"We should probably get going," Jason said, breaking the silence. "It's getting dark."
"I was just going to ask you to take me home," Kelsi said with one more kiss on his lips, "so you can take me to bed." Jason smiled and spun himself around in the seat.
"Then hold on tight, babe, I'll get you home fast." They put on their helmets and he turned the bike around. As they headed home, Kelsi couldn't help but feel a sense of peace and happiness despite the roar of the motorcycle down the highway and the desperation that began to flood her veins.
The anticipation that had been building all evening, simmering beneath the surface was now bubbling over faster than Kelsi could hope to stop it. Her eyes settled on Jason as they slipped back into their house, kicking off the heeled boots she wore. She felt a surge of desire, wanting only to be closer to him, to feel his skin on hers.
Jason met her gaze, a playful grin spreading across his face. "What?" he asked, tilting his head slightly. "Something on your mind?"
"Maybe," Kelsi replied, stepping closer. She reached out, trailing her fingers lightly along his arm.
Jason's grin widened. "Oh yeah?" he said, his voice dropping to a low murmur. "What's going on in your beautiful little head?"
Kelsi leaned in, her lips brushing against his ear. "Come to bed and I'll tell you," she whispered. She spun around and hooked her finger into his belt loop, using it to pull him towards their room.
"Kels, you gotta stop getting hotter," Jason murmured, "It's more than one man can handle." He grabbed her hips and pulled her closer, his fingers quickly moving to the button on her jeans.
"I don't know what I can do about that," she replied as she grabbed the hem of her shirt and stripped it off over her head revealing a dark red lace covered bra, "but if you think of anything, let me know."
Jason sighed as he ripped his own shirt over his head. "Well for starters," he said as he brought his fingers to the front clasp on her bra, "stop stripping for me, then we'll talk about all this sexy stuff you're always wearing."
She faked a little pout as he undid the clasp and let her breasts fall freely. "But I love stripping for you, baby," she said as she grabbed the waistband of her jeans and began to edge them slowly over her hips.
Jason grabbed it and her panties and tugged them down quickly to her ankles. He helped her step out of them, and made quick work of his own jeans and boxers hitting the floor. "Maybe next time when I'm not already aching for you," he said, spinning her around to face the bed.
"Jason," Kelsi gasped as she felt his bare tip sliding over her skin, "let me get the condom, babe. I'm aching for you too." She tried to to reach for one, but his desperate kisses that trailed down her back made her limbs turn to mush.
"I know, Kels," he murmured in her ear, "I hear it in your voice... smell it on your skin."
"You smell it?!" she asked, suddenly embarrassed at the thought.
Jason pulled her close, his firm chest pressing into her back as he massaged her breasts, taking a gentle inhale against her neck. "It's a distinct scent when you're getting warmed up, just pure, desperate woman." His fingers drifted between her thighs to torment her. "It's kinda sweet and earthy, and when it hits with that perfume you wear, it's… intoxicating," he said with a seductive smile.
Kelsi couldn't help but giggle, the suggestion that she was so desperate for him that her body involuntarily called to him was odd, yet intensely arousing. "Like I'm ready to mate?" she said as she mustered what strength she could and reached with effort for the nightstand.
"Exactly, and lucky for you, I'm a desperate man ready to mate too."
They laughed together, the sensual foreplay igniting a vibrant blaze between them. The idea made them savage, like two animals longing for that primal connection. She passed the condom over her shoulder, the sound of the foil crinkling getting her more excited.
"Kels… baby," he gasped as he slipped in from behind and loved on her with long and deep motions, "you make me crazy."
"I love it when you go crazy, J." she said with a breathless voice as her body strained under her building pressure.
Jason felt her tighten down hard on him and he fought desperately to hold back. "I just hope I can last long enough, you're too good."
Kelsi grinned as she braced her body, finding a comfortable way to receive the assault he would soon unleash on her. "Feeling adventurous tonight, are you?" she asked.
"I am, like I said, you drive me crazy, Kels." he replied.
"Then go crazy, babe, I want you to have a good time," Kelsi groaned.
She angled her hips, letting him dive to her depths that begged for every inch of him. She gasped and yelped, gripping the sheets beneath her in agony of how good it felt. "Jason—" she started until he slammed hard into her again. A tortured groan left her lips as her back arched wildly.
"Did that hurt, babe?" he asked with concern.
"A little," she replied with an indeterminable moan, laced with equal parts passion and pain.
Even though they'd been here countless times, he couldn't help but slow down and ease up. "I'm sorry, Kels, I didn't—"
"Jason!" she yelled impatiently, slamming her palms onto the bed, "Don't you dare be sorry, and don't you dare stop!"
He grinned and slammed home again, raising the pleasurable yelps from her lips over and over again until he felt her climax hard over him. At the sensations of her contracting muscles clenching around him, he grunted through his own intense climax, nearly falling over.
Gasping as he collapsed over her back, he felt her aftershocks rippling over him, dragging out his orgasm to an almost unbearable length.
"Do we even need another round after that?" Kelsi said with a hand to her forehead in exhaustion.
Jason stumbled to deal with the condom and came back to collapse on the bed with her. "Just give me ten and I'll get to round two," he chuckled into her ear, "You really needed a break tonight, and I planned on making love to you until you can't take it anymore."
