"Toya! Toya where are you?!" Enji's voice was filled with worry. He was an idiot. This fire was spreading fast. Toya is probably-

Don't think like that, Enji. Why did you have to push him so far? These stunts were to impress you! He'd be safe at home if you weren't so full of ambition.

Suddenly, a small, hoarse voice croaked nearby.

"Dad? Where are you?"

"Toya!" Enji raced towards the voice. As he approached the voice, he heard coughing. "Toya, I'm coming, son!"

"dad!" The voice was weaker now, desperate but full of hope.

And then Enji found him. He was nearly surrounded by flames, backed against a tree. "Dad...?"

Enji enveloped Toya in his arms. "I've got you son!"

"You came..."

"I came because your power hurts you, son. You can't use it so excessively. Lets get home to your mom and siblings."

"It hurts." It was then that enji noticed the burn acars on Toya's arms.

"The hospital it is then."

At the hospital, the whole world seemed to crumble as Enji sat in the waiting room. Toya had to be taken to surgery to remove the dead and burned skin. Enji sighed. He was an idiot. The chair beneath him was a bit to small but was enough of a sensation to anchor him. The whole way here, Enji had sat in the ambulance with his son because Toya had asked for it. He had watched as they carted him into emergency care. He couldn't bring himself to leave Toya's side.

Rei arrived. "Enji, is he-?"

"He is in surgery." They sit in silence for a minute. It's tense. "Rei, I need to say something."

She doesnt reply but he needs to speak. His thoughts were killing him.

"Rei, I'm done training them." She turned towards him staring in shock.

"Enji, are you all right? You never stop training them-"

"My image doesn't matter any more, I'm done. My endless ambition led to my son- our son- nearly dying. And to be honest, lately- lately I've been feeling guilty about how distant I've been from Natsuo, from Fuyumi..." he sighs. "From you, Rei. While I did initially marry you for your quirk, I've truly grown to care about you."

"Enji..."

"I'll take the time to earn your love, if I have to. I swear on my life, I will be a good father to our kids and a good husband to you."

She seemed to be pondering it. He could feel the tension between them. He'd hurt Toya in training and pushed Toya so far that he had gotten himself hurt. It was all his fault. "I understand. You hate me for pushing them so hard. But I mean it, Rei. I want to actually be their father."
