EgyZeal: Migration Patterns

Egypt snapped his briefcase shut as he searched for New Zealand. It was difficult, since everyone was trying to leave for the day, but finally he managed to spot the southern nation, bickering with Australia. They weren't as volatile as Greece and Turkey, so Egypt didn't mind approaching.

New Zealand was the one that noticed him, and he smiled. Australia rolled his eyes before turning away.

"I'll just leave you lovebirds alone," he said.

"Ignore him," New Zealand said as he wrapped an arm around Gupta. "So, how's your day going? The meeting didn't give you a headache, did it?"

"No, my head's fine," Egypt said. "I… I actually have a favour to ask you."

"Oh? Now I'm curious. What's up?"

"Do you mind if I stay at your place for the next month?"

New Zealand blinked at the odd request before he cocked his head to the side.

"Um, it's a bit short notice," New Zealand said. "Not that I'm complaining, but what brought this on?"

Egypt could feel himself blush as he averted his eyes.

"…The forecast predicts that this is going to be the coldest winter in years," he said. "I-I mean, when I left, it was already ten degrees, and a cold front was on its way."

"Ah, I see," New Zealand said. "And so you want to hide out in the southern hemisphere for the time being." Egypt nodded, and New Zealand smiled. "Sure. But in return, I get to stay with you when it's my turn to have winter."

"Deal." Egypt grinned. "Just keep in mind that my summers can be pretty hot."

"Your summers aren't the only thing about you that's hot." New Zealand pecked him on the cheek. "But I'll keep that in mind."
