Hey guys, sorry for the wait I've been dealing with personal issues lately, recently I lost my grandma, so we've been dealing with that. But here's Chapter 9 everyone enjoy!
Super Squashman: I can't make any promises lol. Yes, she'll also have new abilities as well and they will!
The roaring cascade of water at the Valley of the End served as the backdrop to a conflict born of pain, betrayal, and unwavering determination. Naruto and Sasuke stood on opposing statues, the figures of Madara Uchiha and Hashirama Senju serving as haunting reminders of another battle that had shaped the fate of the ninja world. History, it seemed, was repeating itself.
From her hidden vantage point among the trees, Neji Hyuga observed the unfolding fight, her Byakugan activated. The raw emotions radiating from both combatants were palpable even from a distance. She clenched her fists, feeling an unspoken tension as Naruto tried once again to reach Sasuke with words instead of fists.
…
"Sasuke!" Naruto's voice echoed through the valley, strained but resolute. "This isn't who you are! You don't have to throw everything away for revenge!"
Sasuke, perched on the head of Madara's statue, scoffed, his voice cold and dismissive. "You don't understand anything, Naruto. My bonds with the village… with you… they're nothing but chains holding me back. I need power to destroy him. That's all that matters."
Naruto gritted his teeth, his body trembling with a mixture of rage and desperation. "Why, Sasuke? Why can't you see that we're your friends? We care about you! Revenge won't fill the emptiness inside you!"
Sasuke's Sharingan eyes glared down at him, filled with disdain. "I told you before, Naruto. I'm not like you. I don't need friends. I don't need the village. All I need is strength."
Neji, watching silently, felt an ache in her chest as Sasuke's words cut through the air. She understood the darkness that could cloud a person's heart, the desperation to prove oneself or to escape the pain of the past. But she also knew that Sasuke was wrong. Bonds weren't chains; they were the foundation that gave strength.
Her thoughts drifted back to her own journey, how Naruto had shattered her worldview during their battle at the Chunin Exams. She couldn't help but silently root for him now.
"Don't give up, Naruto," she whispered to herself, her gaze unwavering. "Prove to him that he's wrong."
…
Naruto and Sasuke charged at each other, their movements a blur as they clashed in the middle of the valley. Sasuke's Chidori crackled with electricity, while Naruto's Rasengan swirled with raw, chaotic chakra. The two attacks collided, sending shockwaves rippling across the water below and forcing Neji to steady herself against the sheer force of their clash.
The fight was fierce and unrelenting. Sasuke's movements were precise, calculated, his Sharingan giving him the edge in reading Naruto's attacks. Naruto, on the other hand, fought with sheer determination, his unpredictability and refusal to back down keeping Sasuke on his toes.
From her vantage point, Neji could see every detail, the tension in their muscles, the chakra coursing through their bodies, the pain etched into their expressions. She could see that Naruto's chakra reserves were dwindling, his exhaustion evident in the way his movements became sluggish. Sasuke, too, was reaching his limits, his breaths coming in sharp, shallow gasps.
But neither of them was willing to yield.
'Foolish' Neji thought, though there was no malice in her assessment. 'They're both fighting as if their lives depend on it… because, to them, they do. But Naruto… you can't lose. Not here.'
As the battle raged on, Sasuke's Cursed Seal began to spread across his body, darkening his skin and giving him an almost demonic appearance. The transformation amplified his power, his strikes growing faster and more brutal. Naruto struggled to keep up, each blow driving him closer to the edge.
"Sasuke," Neji muttered under her breath, her tone sharp with disdain. "Is this what you've become? A slave to that power?"
Naruto, in a desperate attempt to match Sasuke's newfound strength, called upon the power of the Nine-Tails. His chakra flared violently, enveloping him in a fiery red shroud. The ground beneath him cracked under the pressure, and his once-blue eyes now glowed with a menacing crimson hue.
The two clashed again, their attacks tearing through the valley with devastating force. Neji could barely keep up with their movements, her Byakugan allowing her to see the intricate details of their battle. Each strike, each counter, each surge of chakra, it was like watching a storm tear through the landscape.
But even with the power of the Nine-Tails, Naruto was at a disadvantage. Sasuke's strikes were merciless, his intent clear. He wasn't holding back, and the brutality of his attacks made Neji's heart clench with worry.
Naruto managed to land a solid punch on Sasuke, sending him flying into the side of the valley. But the victory was short-lived. Sasuke emerged from the rubble, his Chidori blazing with deadly energy. His Sharingan eyes locked onto Naruto, cold and unforgiving.
"You'll never understand, Naruto," Sasuke said, his voice low and venomous. "You'll never know what it's like to lose everything… to have nothing left but hatred."
Naruto's fists clenched, his voice shaking with emotion. "You're wrong, Sasuke. I do understand. I've been alone my whole life. I've felt that pain. But I found people who care about me. I found a reason to fight. And I'll fight for you, no matter what it takes!"
Sasuke's expression hardened, his grip tightening on the crackling Chidori in his hand. "Then this is where it ends, Naruto."
He charged forward, his speed blinding. Naruto tried to counter, but Sasuke was too fast. The Chidori pierced through Naruto's chest, the sound of flesh and bone giving way echoing through the valley.
Neji's breath caught in her throat as she watched Naruto fall, his body crumpling to the ground. For a moment, time seemed to stop. The sight of him lying motionless, blood pooling beneath him, sent a chill down her spine.
…
"Enough!" Neji's voice rang out, sharp and commanding, as she stepped into the fray. Her Byakugan flared with intensity, her gaze locking onto Sasuke with unyielding determination.
Sasuke turned to face her, his expression unreadable. "Neji… What are you doing here?"
She ignored his question, her focus on Naruto. She crouched beside him, checking his pulse, relief flooding her when she felt a faint but steady beat. He was alive, but barely. Her hands trembled as she placed them over his wound, trying to slow the bleeding.
"You've gone too far, Sasuke," she said, her voice low and firm. "This isn't about power anymore. This is madness."
Sasuke's eyes narrowed, his voice cold. "Stay out of this, Neji. This has nothing to do with you."
"It has everything to do with me," she shot back, rising to her feet and facing him. "Naruto came after you because he believes in you. He believes that you're still worth saving. And I believe in him."
Sasuke's expression twisted with anger. "You think you can stop me? You're just another obstacle in my way."
Neji took a step forward, her stance steady, her hands raised in the Gentle Fist position. "If I have to fight you to stop this madness, then so be it. But I won't let you destroy yourself or Naruto."
The two stared each other down, the tension between them thick and suffocating. Sasuke's Sharingan spun, his Chidori sparking to life once more. Neji's Byakugan focused intently on him, her determination unwavering.
