Shiver rouses awake after falling unconscious from the falling of Big Man onto her and Frye, yet trying to look around it's just complete darkness before realising the weight of the manta ray on top of her. She slowly regains her strength before pushing herself up onto her feet and flipping Big Man over like a pancake, taking a moment to actually survey her surroundings, before feeling the pain from the fall get to her.
Shiver: Ack... we really need to work on that. Where... are we...?
Frye: I, have no idea... But-
Frye gets up a few moments after Shiver, stretching for a moment to work out the pain, taking a breath in before immediately regretting it as her nose flares and she pinches it shut in disgust.
Frye: Eugh! It reeks even more down here...
Big Man: Ay, ay... (Guys, it seems we aren't the only ones here...)
Big Man was lying flat on the ground, staring up at the sky to see blasts of maroon ink being shot over the crater way above the trio, getting the attention of the other two. Seeing this made Frye clench her hands into fists, not expecting to have to deal with their rivals again.
Frye: It's them! Those raiders, on our turf, again?!
Shiver: We're too far down! We can't do anything about them, and even if we could, we should stick to the mission. Let's focus on what Boss Marie's boss tasked us to do. Let's get moving to try and find that tunnel, because it's likely down here.
Big Man: Ay! Ay... ay? (Great idea Shiver! But umm... can you two help me up?)
The two look back at their friend, completely forgetting that he can't exactly get up from being on his back. Sliding their arms under him before lifting him back onto his feet and getting on their way through the area.
The three of them stuck close to each other, wandering slowly and looking around at the different junkpiles littering the bottom of the crater, or at least that's what they thought at first. The ominous feeling of dread looming over their heads realising that they aren't just in the middle of a scrapyard, but rather an entire town in ruins.
Big Man: Ay, ay... (I don't know about you girls, but I really don't like this place...)
Frye: You're telling me big guy... it's like when this crater opened, it swallowed a town with it...
They kept eyeing the many ruins around them, covered in sand, dirt and rock while passing by several pools of semi-shallow water, but still deep enough to be threatening to an inkfish.
Big Man: Ay, ay... (Just don't fall into the water, I'm the only one who can swim remember...)
The three searched around trying to find where the tunnel is, while also trying to think of what the town might've been like during it's time after wandering into the center of it, a wide-open area with a shattered fountain. Shiver got the idea to get up somewhere high but due to the instability of the ruins that wasn't possible, however the idea struck her of getting Big Man and Frye to stack on top of each other. The two agreed to the idea, Big Man letting Frye jump up onto his back, before Shiver climbed on top, the three wobbled for a few moments before trying to get balanced.
Big Man: Ay, ay... ay? (Careful, careful... can you two see anything?)
Frye: I'm not seeing anything other than ruins... what about you Shiv?
Shiver: If you could hold us still, I can get a look!
Shiver waits while they try to stabilise themselves to keep still, placing her fan above her eyes to survey the area in a cool fashion. The three rotate slowly around to get a good view before Shiver pointed out to the dark upon her seeing a titanic opening in the walls of the crater.
Shiver: There! Look, that has to be it! Come on, let's go!
Frye: Mush! Go Big Man, go!
Big Man: Ayyy...!
Shiver panicked thinking she was going to get down from the formation to walk on the ground before trying her best to keep stable on the top while Big Man started marching forward reluctantly, trying his best to not fall into hazards on the way.
Upon arriving, Frye jumped down from Big Man's back before throwing Shiver down from carrying her and rushing over to the edge of the tunnel to look at it.
Frye: Holy smokes... this tunnel is huge! It's like five times the size of the Great Zapfish.
Shiver walked over calmly to inspect the size of it personally before looking up in awe, knowing it's definitely larger than anything they've seen.
Big Man: Ay! (You can hear the water from here as well!)
Big Man wanders up behind the two and leans over with the three of them at the edge to have a look at the water below, unaware of his size causing the others to have to push him back so they don't fall.
Shiver: Woah! Hey, Big Man! Don't do that, we could've fallen down.
Big Man: Ay, ay... (I'm sorry, I forget how big I am sometimes...)
Shiver peers over the side to gaze at the slight shimmer on the dark waters below before affirming herself in thought that they've done what they can for now, unlike Frye who speaks it out loud, getting up and walking back towards the center of the crater, Shiver following behind with Big Man coming after.
Frye: Well, now that we found the place, I suppose we should keep the place secured, and maybe find what we can for Splatsville.
Big Man: Ay, ay? (Is that one of you two breathing behind me, or?)
Shiver: What? We're in front of you?
Hearing this strange question made her look back to him confused, before realising and seeing a massive, tusked shadow looming above him. She reached over and tugged Frye's arm to get her attention as well.
Shiver: Uhhh... guys...?
Frye: What- oh...
Big Man: Ay? (Why are you guys looking at me like that?)
Big Man watches one of them point above him rather than to him, he slowly turns around before looking up, meeting giant white eyes with a sickly green hue. His face contorts from his small smile to one of absolute worry.
Big Man: Ay... ay, ay... (Oh... don't mind me and my friends, we'll be on our way now...)
He quickly turned back around and hurried the three of them to run before hearing the shadow roar in fury, going into a full sprint to get away faster. They felt the ground start shaking beneath them as Frye looked back to see the shadow emerge into the darkened light, revealing itself as a giant tusked, grey salmonid bounding towards them.
Frye: What the shell is that thing?! I've never seen a salmonid like that before!
Shiver: Ask questions later! Just keep legging it!
The three ran towards the center of the crater in order to hopefully outrun it, but it was only drawing closer as the tremors it created causing them to start to bounce from the floor. Frye quickly veered them into a sharp turn to keep running. They heard the salmonid trip over trying to turn before looking back to it after gaining a bit of distance, the strangest thing to them was seeing it had vestigial fins. This stop only lasted so long as it got itself back up from the ground and started charging towards them again, prompting them to book it with haste.
Big Man: Ay, ay! (If we die, I just wanna let you guys know that I love you two!)
Frye: Shiver I accidentally used your toothbrush this morning!
Shiver: You what?! Well I blew all of our money on buying Blåhajs!
Big Man: AYYYYYYYY! AY- (AHHHHHHHHH! OOMPH-)
The three of them confessed random moments to each other feeling this might be their last moments while they kept running at full speed, jumping over obstacles along the way. Big Man unfortunately cannot take as large strides as his companions, and ended up stumbling and tripping on a pebble, falling flat like a pancake on top of his friends. This somehow paid off as the titanic salmonid charged overhead and above them, missing them entirely as it rammed its tusks against the crater wall, shaking the locale with tremendous force.
