~~Hello, readers, welcome to my Pokémon/Power Rangers crossover Fanfiction.
I don't own anything from Pokémon or Power Rangers.
Only my original characters belong to me.~~
This story begins in Aspertia City of the Unova Region.
A teenage girl with brown, curly hair had just left her mother's house to begin her Pokémon journey.
Her outfit consisted of flat, pink shoes decorated with glitter, thin, white socks, pink dress pants, a purple, frilly, long-sleeved blouse, and a fuzzy, purple cover.
The fire type fox Pokémon, Flareon happily trotted beside her.
Sioku led Flareon toward the Trainer School where her first gym challenge would take place.
She then entered the school with Flareon by her side.
Two small children had been playing with some wandering Pokémon in the lobby.
The children giggled as they let the Pokémon chase them around the lobby.
Sioku grinned as she watched the children and Pokémon play.
"Those kids look so care free," she thought.
Flareon wagged her tail wildly as she stared at the kids.
"Settle down, Flareon," said Sioku firmly.
Flareon sat down beside her trainer.
"Hi, mis, are you here to challenge the gym leader?" greeted the little boy as he walked over to her.
"I sure am, do you know where he is?" responded Sioku with an adoring smile.
The little girl perked up and happily ran toward Sioku.
"My friend and I will take you to our teacher. Please follow us," she said, tugging on the sleeve of Sioku's cover.
"Thank you very much," said Sioku cheerfully.
Sioku lightly tugged on Flareon's fur collar.
"Let's go, Flareon," she commanded.
Flareon stood up, then shook off.
Sioku followed the joyful children as they led her down a long corridor.
A normal type puppy Pokémon, Lilipup, bolted after the little girl.
Sioku, Flareon, and the children stopped near a door at the end of the hall.
The little girl knocked on the door.
"Excuse me, Cheren, someone is here to see you!" she called out.
There was no response on the other side.
Sioku and Flareon waited patiently by a wall.
Lilipup and the two children stood nearby.
Sioku curiously looked down at Lilipup, then up at the little girl.
"Does that Pokémon belong to you?" she asked.
"No, Lilipup is our teacher's Pokémon. It just follows me everywhere," answered the little girl before she picked up the dog.
Lilipup rested its head against her chest.
The little girl stared at Flareon and said, "Mis, your fox is really pretty."
"It looks powerful too," added the little boy.
"Thank you very much! Flareon has been my best friend for a few years now. She goes everywhere with me," replied Sioku cheerfully.
A brief period of silence passed by.
Flareon shook off, then started to sniff the ground.
The door in front of them opened up a few minutes later.
Sioku looked toward the doorway in surprise.
A tall man with black eyes and jet-black hair stepped out of the room with a friendly smile on his face.
He wore brown shoes, blue dress pants, a white dress shirt, and an orange necktie.
"Good morning, mis," he greeted.
Sioku was immediately impressed by the friendly man's politeness.
"Same to you, sir, my name is Sioku. I came here to have a gym battle with you," she responded joyfully.
The man held his right hand out to her and continued, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Sioku, my name is Cheren. I'm a gym leader and a teacher here at this school."
Sioku pointed at the two children and said, "These kids must be your students."
"They sure are," replied Cheren cheerfully.
Sioku blushed with excitement as she shook his hand.
"Your challenger likes you, Cheren," the little girl teased.
"Cut it out," scolded her brother.
The little girl only giggled while staring at Sioku's pink cheeks.
Cheren gave the little girl a stern look.
"That's enough, teasing people is not nice. Please go back to the classroom with your brother," he said firmly.
"Yes, sir," replied the little girl before she led her brother away.
Cheren kindly led Flareon and Sioku into the room.
He then turned to another man standing near the entrance.
"Pardon me, sir, but we have a new challenger this morning. Her name is Sioku," Cheren said politely.
"I'm pleased to meet you, sir," Sioku added shyly.
The man simply nodded before joining Cheren at the opposite end of a medium sized battle field.
Sioku stood next to a wall, nervously staring at the floor.
The referee cleared his throat before he spoke in a loud voice, "The battle between Sioku the challenger and Cheren the gym leader is about to begin. Both trainers will use two Pokémon each. The battle will be over when both Pokémon on either side are no longer able to battle. Both trainers may substitute their Pokémon at any time. Trainers, please bring out your first Pokémon."
Sioku's heart began to race with anticipation.
She took a few deep breaths in order to calm herself down.
Cheren confidently held up a Pokéball and shouted, "Patrat... come on out!"
The normal type rat Pokémon, Patrat, emerged from its Pokéball and stood on the field in front of Cheren.
With her mind finally cleared, Sioku proudly took her position on the other end of the battle field.
Before Sioku had the chance to pick up a Pokéball, Oshawott popped out and jumped down onto the field.
Sioku was once again surprised by her water Pokémon's mysterious appearance.
Her cheeks turned bright red with embarrassment.
"How in the world did Oshawott know when to come out?" Sioku asked with a look of utter shock.
"Maybe your Oshawott really wants to battle first," answered Cheren.
Sioku smiled down at the happy sea otter Pokémon.
"Okay, Oshawott, I choose you," she said.
Oshawott joyfully lept onto the battle field and stood in front of its trainer.
"That is one enthusiastic Pokémon," Cheren pointed out.
Sioku nodded her head in agreement.
"Battle... begin!" called the other man.
"I'll make the first move," said Cheren.
He then pointed to his rat Pokémon and added. "Patrat, let's begin by using tackle."
Patrat immediately charged forward in Oshawott's direction.
Oshawott stared intently at Patrat.
Sioku grinned as an interesting thought crossed her mind.
"Oshawott, aim a water gun at Patrat's face!" she called out.
As Patrat came closer to Oshawott, the sea otter unleashed a stream of water directly in the rat's face.
Patrat fearfully backed up as it was sprayed by a small jet of water.
"Nice work, Oshawott," Sioku praised.
Oshawott posed victoriously in response.
"Patrat, use bite," Cheren commanded.
Patrat lundged forward and landed a direct hit on Oshawott's side.
"Nice move, Patrat," Cheren praised.
Oshawott stumbled back in pain.
"Oshawott... no!" cried Sioku.
Sioku stared down at her Pokémon desperately, hoping that Oshawott wasn't done battling yet.
"You can do it, Oshawott! Please get up and fight," she said encouragingly.
Oshawott carefully pulled itself back up on its feet.
Sioku smiled at her water Pokémon in approval.
"Good job, Oshawott, let's turn this battle around. We can do this," she said confidently.
Oshawott then faced Patrat and glared at it.
"Patrat, use tackle again," Cheren ordered.
Patrat charged toward Oshawott once again.
"Dodge it by using razor shell," Sioku commanded.
Just as Patrat was about to strike Oshawott again, the water Pokémon intercepted it with a powerful razor shell attack.
Patrat was sent flying across the battle field.
"Nice shot, Oshawott," Sioku praised with a grin.
Patrat hit the ground with a hard thud.
Cheren gasped in fear as he looked down at his injured Pokémon.
"Patrat, are you all right?" he asked with worry.
The defeated Patrat didn't move from its place on the floor.
"Patrat is unable to battle. This victory goes to the challenger Sioku," said the referee.
"You did it, Oshawott! Great job," praised Sioku with a joyful smile.
Oshawott jumped high in the air with glee.
Cheren quickly opened up Patrat's Pokéball.
"You fought very well out there, Patrat. Please return and take a long rest," he said softly.
Patrat slowly crawled into the Pokéball before it closed.
"You put up a good fight, Patrat. Now take a well deserved rest," Cheren added calmly.
Cheren held up a second Pokéball.
"All right, Herdier, it's your turn!" he called out.
The normal type dog Pokémon, Herdier, bolted onto the battle field while wagging its tail.
Sioku grinned while staring at Herdier in admiration.
"Awe, that Pokémon is so cute! I want to catch one for myself," she said happily.
Cheren only smiled back at her.
Sioku pointed down at Oshawott who seemed to be a little tired from its last fight.
"Do you still want to battle?" the teen asked with slight concern.
Oshawott nodded its head and jumped up.
"Your Oshawott has a lot of spirit," Cheren complemented.
"Oshawott reminds me of myself," Sioku replied.
Both Pokémon faced each other with fighting intent.
"Battle... begin!" shouted the referee.
"I'll have the first move this time," Sioku said to Cheren.
Cheren gave a thumbs up in response.
"Okay, Oshawott, use tackle," Sioku commanded.
Oshawott charged in Herdier's direction wearing a determined expression.
"Fight back with thunder fang," Cheren instructed.
Sioku's eyes widened with horror at the sound of that attack.
"Electric type attacks are super effective against water Pokémon. Dr. Zoidberg wouldn't want to see this," She thought nervously.
Electricity built up inside Herdier's fangs as it waited for Oshawott to approach.
"Oshawott... look out!" shouted Sioku desperately.
Oshawott looked up at its trainer before proceeding to charge toward Herdier.
Sioku's Pokémon didn't get the chance to attack.
Herdier barked and sank its fangs into Oshawott's back, knocking Sioku's Pokémon onto the floor.
She stared down at her injured Pokémon with a horrified expression.
"Oshawott… are you okay? Please get up," Sioku pleaded.
The defeated Oshawott didn't budge from its spot.
"Oshawott is unable to battle. This victory goes to Cheren," said the referee.
"Great job, Herdier," Cheren praised.
Herdier wagged its tail wildly in return.
Sioku opened up Oshawott's Pokeball and commanded softly, "Oshawott, return."
The sea otter climbed into its Pokéball before it closed.
"Oshawott, you fought very hard out there. Thank you for your effort," Sioku added smoothly.
Sioku then pointed at Flareon who stood patiently behind her.
"You're up next, Flareon," she said with determination.
Flareon ran excitedly onto the battle field.
The hairs on Herdier's back stood straight up as it growled at Flareon.
Unfazed, Flareon only looked away.
Herdier! Stop that," scolded Cheren.
Herdier sat down in response to Cheren's raised voice.
Cheren then turned to Sioku with a look of remorse.
"Sioku, I apologize for my Pokémon's behavior. Herdier has little dog complex whenever it's about to battle a fully evolved Pokémon," he explained.
Sioku gave a nod and smiled brightly.
"That's okay, Cheren, my Lilipup has the same problem. It growls at Flareon all the time," she responded.
"Battle... begin!" called the referee.
"Okay, Flareon, use flare blitz," Sioku commanded.
Flareon released a fireball from its mouth and aimed it at Herdier.
Herdier tried to dodge it, but the flames were too fast.
The fireball slammed directly into Herdier, knocking the dog Pokémon backward.
"Nice shot, Flareon," Sioku praised.
Flareon looked up at Sioku in return.
Herdier furiously shook the flames from its fur.
"Use bite," Cheren ordered.
Herdier charged forward and landed a direct hit on Flareon.
Flareon howled in pain as it stumbled backward.
"Follow it up with thunder fang," Cheren added.
Electricity built up inside of Herdier's fangs once more.
Herdier sank its electrified fangs into Flareon's body.
Flareon growled loudly in response.
"Flareon, use thunderbolt," Sioku countered.
The fox Pokémon unleashed a powerful thunderbolt from the tip of its tail.
Flareon's thunderbolt came in direct contact with Herdier's body, paralyzing the opposing Pokémon.
Herdier tried to move but to no avail.
The dog Pokémon had been pinned in place by paralysis.
"Let's wrap this up with solar beam," Sioku instructed proudly.
Flareon stood still as light energy from the sun slowly built up inside its body.
A beam of solar light was then released from the top of Flareon's head before showering down from the sky and striking Herdier.
Herdier fell to the ground with a thud.
"Herdier is unable to battle. This victory goes to the challenger, Sioku. Therefore, Sioku is the winner of this match!" shouted the referee.
Cheren opened up a Pokéball and commanded softly, "Herdier, return."
Herdier crawled inside its Pokéball before it closed.
"Thanks, Herdier, you fought very well out there. Take a good rest," Cheren added smoothly.
Sioku cheered in excitement while hugging Flareon tight.
Flareon wagged her tail against her trainer's legs with the same amount of happiness.
Cheren turned to Sioku wearing a delighted expression.
"Congratulations on your victory, Sioku, it's clear to me that you and your Pokémon have trained really hard. You defeated both of my Pokémon with brilliant strategies," he complemented.
"Thank you very much, sir," the teen replied graciously.
Cheren retrieved a badge from his pants pocket, then presented it to Sioku.
"As proof of your victory here at the Aspertia gym, I gladly reward you with the basic badge. You earned it," he said proudly.
Sioku gracefully took the badge from him and replied, "Thanks again, I really enjoyed our Pokémon battle. Hopefully you and I will meet again sometime."
"Enjoy the rest of your day, Sioku," Cheren said with a wave.
Cheren kindly opened the door.
Flareon and her trainer stepped out into the hallway.
Sioku and Flareon happily strolled down the long corridor that led to the main lobby.
The two children waved at Sioku as they watched her walk by.
Before Sioku could exit the scool, two young girls with long, blond hair approached her near a bench.
Flareon wagged her tail excitedly while staring at the girls.
"Hey, Sioku," they greeted in unison.
Sioku grinned joyfully as she hugged her friends.
"Ariel, Bella, I'm so glad to see both of you!" she exclaimed happily.
The teenage girl, known as Ariel, wore blue tennis shoes, black ancle socks, plain, blue jeans, and a short-sleeved, orange T-shirt.
The little girl, known as Bella, wore pink sandals decorated with sparkles, pink leggings, and a purple, frilly dress with flower designs on the front.
Bella eagerly petted Flareon who stood patiently next to Sioku.
Flareon nuzzled Bella in return.
Sioku looked at Ariel and asked, "What brings you and your sister here?"
"I'm taking Bella to school before I challenge the gym," Ariel answered.
"That's good, I just won my battle against Cheren not too long ago. I wish you the best of luck," Sioku added with a smile.
"Thank you, Sioku," said Ariel graciously.
"I'll meet you at the Pokémon center in Flocesy Town," Sioku added.
Ariel gave a nod and smiled.
She then turned to her younger sister and said, "Bella, it's time for you to meet up with your classmates now. Mom will pick you up when school is over. I'll see you later."
Bella hugged Ariel and replied, "Okay, Sissy, have a good day."
The little girl then took off toward a group of children wearing an excited grin.
Sioku smiled and waved at Bella.
"I'll see you again soon, Sioku," said Ariel.
Bye for now, Ariel, Sioku replied.
Sioku watched Ariel walk down the corridor before making her way out the door with Flareon.
Outside the trainer school, Sioku and her Flareon strolled leisurely down the street.
Sioku and Flareon were just minding their own business when a group of three teenage girls blocked their path to the Pokémon center.
Sioku stopped abruptly with Flareon standing by her side.
Two of the teens were twins with blond hair and light blew eyes, and the other girl had black, wavy hair and red eyes.
She immediately recognized the black haired girl as Mira Colress.
The twins' outfits consisted of plain, black dress shoes, a long, white dress, and a thin, white cover.
Mira's outfit consisted of black tennis shoes, grey socks, black sweat pants, a grey, long-sleeved T-shirt, and a grey hoody.
"I found you, Sad Sioku," said Mira.
Sioku cringed at that awful nickname.
She glared at the black haired teen and replied, "Mira Colress… how did you find me? Also, where did your followers come from?"
"Sad Sioku, that is none of your business! Also, don't you dare call my friends followers! Their names are Kiara and Katey," Mira snapped back.
The twins, now known as Kiara and Katey, snickered at Mira's response.
Sioku thought about Ariel and Bella as a distraction to maintain her composure.
"Anyway, what do you spoiled princesses want with me?" she continued coldly.
"My friends and I need a favor from you, Sad Sioku. The three of us want to train our Pokémon before we challenge the gym. We want to have a three-on-three Pokémon battle with you on Route 19," explained Mira.
Kiara and Katey nodded their heads in agreement.
"I just had a gym battle against Cheren, and two of my Pokémon are tired. Besides… I only have one with me that hasn't battled yet," explained Sioku with a concerned expression.
"Go out and catch a few more Pokémon. It's that simple," ordered Kiara.
"I don't have time to catch another wild Pokémon right now," Sioku countered.
Katey smirked at Sioku before responding, "I have an idea, Sioku, let your precious Flareon fight against all three of us."
Mira and Kiara laughed cruelly in agreement.
Flareon stared up at Sioku with a pleading look.
"You don't have to fight their Pokémon," assured Sioku as she gently rubbed Flareon behind her ears.
The fox shook off, then bowed her head.
Sioku glared daggers at all three girls.
""No, I would never do a horrible thing like that to my Flareon. This Pokémon is my best friend. Battling all three of your Pokémon at once would be unfair to her," she argued protectively.
"What did you just say to us?" asked Mira while glaring back at Sioku.
"You heard me loud and clear. I said no," answered Sioku roughly.
All three teens glared furiously at Sioku for declining their selfish request.
Sioku didn't seem intimidated in the slightest by those bullies.
Their icy glares and demands only made Sioku dislike them even more.
"You have no right to talk back to us like that, little brat," Mira said menacingly.
Sioku only shook her head at the black haired teen.
A brief period of silence passed by.
Sioku gazed at Mira as a thought crossed her mind.
"What made you and your friends want to have a three-on-three Pokémon battle?" she asked curiously.
"We've never had one before," answered Mira with a look of annoyance.
"Yeah… Katey and I see those awesome battles happening on Tv all the time," added Kiara with a grin.
"We chose you to be our first opponent, Sioku. You should be honored," Katey chimed in.
Sioku confidently straightened herself up and looked at the three other girls disgusted.
"First of all, I wouldn't dream of battling any of you. Second of all, you three have no respect for people or Pokémon. I'm not going to let you order me around," she said boldly.
"You'll regret saying all of that nonsense to us," replied Kiara.
"No I won't," argued Sioku.
"We'll see about that," taunted Katey.
"You little brat," growled Mira.
Sioku then pointed to a sign near the Pokémon center.
"Move out of my way. I need to go get my Pokémon healed," she said urgently.
"My friends and I aren't going anywhere," Mira insisted.
She impatiently dug through her shoulder bag.
"I'm still not accepting your challenge," Sioku said firmly.
"Fine… we'll do this the hard way," the black haired teen replied while retrieving her phone.
Thinking nothing of it, Sioku watched Mira tap on the screen.
Unfortunately, the feeling of confidence that Sioku had suddenly vanished when she saw a picture pop up on Mira's phone.
The horrifying picture showed a severely sick patient laying on a hospital bed in an ICU room.
Many tubes protruded from the patient's body.
Various medical machines had been set up around the bed.
Sioku gasped deeply and started to tremble violently.
She didn't have time to process the image in her mind.
Just looking at the disturbing picture Sent her into an immediate panic attack.
Sioku's heart started to pound with anxiety in her chest.
Beads of sweat rolled down the frightened girl's forehead.
In order to keep herself from hyper ventilating, Sioku closed her eyes tightly and turned her head away.
Both of Mira's friends noticed the brown haired girl's fear and started to laugh at her.
"Awe… the little baby is finally getting scared," teased Kiara.
"Sioku freaked out like this one time in Dr. Colress' health class. The nauseated look on her face was priceless," replied Katey with a wicked grin.
"Now… do you regret your decision, Sad Sioku?" asked Mira.
Sioku ignored Mira and looked down at Flareon who fearfully clung to her left side.
She bent down and wrapped her arms around Flareon.
"I know you heard me, Sad Sioku! I asked you a question! Answer me!" Mira screamed with rage.
Sioku refused to respond to the enraged girl and remained frozen in place.
Mira let out a growl of frustration.
"Okay, Sad Sioku, I'll play your little game. Unfortunately for you, giving me the silent treatment will not help you win. That's a fact," she said coldly.
Mira's threat suddenly caught Sioku's ear.
Sioku opened her eyes and stared at Mira dumbfounded.
Mira gave Sioku a dismissive look in return.
"Sioku has no idea what's coming to her," bragged Kiara.
"I know, right? She's totally cracking under the pressure though," replied Katey.
Mira searched for a YouTube video resembling the same medical situation in the picture that she had indignantly presented to Sioku.
Sioku watched Mira's activity with anticipation.
A million fearful thoughts raced through her mind at once.
Sioku felt a large pit of anxiety form in her stomach.
A wave of nausea suddenly washed over her.
Much to Sioku's horror, her situation worsened almost instantly when Mira played a terrifying medical video at the loudest volume.
Beeping noises from various medical machines along with the rumbling sound of an oxygen concentrater reached Sioku's ears.
To give Sioku the full experience, Mira and her friends purposely remained silent.
Sioku had no choice but to listen closely to that dreadful video.
She heard the patient take a deep, shallow breath during every minute.
A huge lump of emotion formed in her throat.
Sioku finally broke down under the intense pressure of her fears.
A wave of terror broke over the distressed girl.
The shaking in her body intensified.
Tears streamed down Sioku's cheeks as she started to sob.
Flareon nuzzled Sioku's face in an attempt to comfort her.
Sioku buried her face in Flareon's fur and sobbed loudly.
Chills rapidly crawled up her spine.
Mira obnoxiously waved her phone in front of Sioku's face.
"What's the matter, Sad Sioku? Don't you like medical videos?" she asked in a taunting manner.
"Someone's going to pass out," warned Kiara.
"Hey, Sad Sioku, do you remember your embarrassing incident that happened in Dr. Colress' health class last year? You freaked out like a toddler and fainted when he showed us a surgical procedure on Tv," added Katey before she laughed.
"Poor Sad Sioku, there is only one way out of your predicament. Agree to have a triple battle with us and say you're sorry," Mira demanded.
"You look like a total wreck," Kiara pointed out.
Flareon's fur heated up as she growled menacingly at the three bothersome girls.
"We're not afraid of you, guard dog," Mira shot back.
Flareon roared and unleashed a jet of flames into the air.
The flames formed a barrier around Sioku and herself.
Mira and her friends screamed as they hid behind a brick wall.
"Brat! We'll get you next time, Sad Sioku!" hollered Mira.
"You haven't seen the last of us!" Kiara chimed in.
Their screaming attracted the attention of Cheren and two patrolling officers.
Cheren pointed toward Sioku and her enraged Pokémon.
"Officers! A trainer needs help!" he hollered frantically.
"Right," the officers responded in unison.
Both officers chased Mira and her friends out of the city while Cheren made his way over to the distressed teen.
The medical video soon faded into silence.
Sioku didn't notice the chaotic scene going on around her.
She continued to hug Flareon tightly while trying to stay conscious.
Just when Sioku thought that all hope had been lost, she heard footsteps coming toward her.
Sioku lifted her head slowly and looked up to find Cheren standing nearby.
Cheren knelt down on the floor next to her.
Flareon happily nuzzled the gym leader.
Cheren petted Flareon's head in return.
"Excuse me, Sioku, are you all right?" he asked calmly.
Sioku wiped her eyes before answering, "No, sir, I was on my way to the Pokémon center when Mira and her friends blocked my path. They challenged me to a triple battle, and I declined. Mira tried to force me to accept their challenge by teasing me with a medical video on her phone. I had a major panic attack. My Flareon scared those girls away before you came."
"I can escort you to the Pokémon center," Cheren offered.
"Sure… I would like that," Sioku accepted as she stood up.
Flareon stretched and shook off beside her trainer.
Cheren quickly led Sioku and Flareon into the Pokémon center.
"Thanks for your help, Cheren," said Sioku.
"You're welcome, Sioku, I'm just glad you're safe. I must hurry back to my gym now. Take care," Cheren replied before taking his leave.
Sioku approached the front desk where a friendly Nurse Joy healed Oshawott, Lilipup, and Flareon.
She let Flareon out of her Pokéball before they exited the Pokémon center together.
