A/N: Hello. :) Guess what? After this chapter, I will release the first chapter of "Close Enough: A Regular Show: Side B" (dedicated to Mizaki Ayuzawa234, that is) either tonight or the next day just before Hulk and Red She-Hulk and the new chapter of "The Loud House Rerwite". Now, this is where Mordecai and Rigby, as we all know, try to get tickets for the show. Enjoy. :)
Close Enough: A Regular Show
Caffeinated Concert Tickets
It all started when Mordecai and Rigby were at The Coffee Shop watching the Fist Pump commercial on the TV.
"Yes! Fist Pump!", Rigby shouted excitedly before he and Mordecai did fist pumps.
"Heh heh heh heh. Yeah, yeah!", Mordecai and Rigby spoke in unison as they continued fist pumping until the music ends before chuckling.
At that moment, Josh, Emily, and Emily went into the coffee shop.
"Hey, guys. What's going on today?", Emily asked.
"Just checkin' out this commercial on TV.", Rigby responded, pointing to it.
"Listen up, pump heads, Fist Pump is coming to Slammers! They just got out of jail, and rehab, and now they're back, and ready to rock your 11-through-15-year-old pants off! That's our demographic: get over it. That's right! Fist Pump live!", the announcer shouted as the commercial played along.
"Live!", the other announcer shouted.
"At Slammers this Friday!", the announcer continued.
"Friday!", the other announcer shouted.
"Be there or be a loser!", the announcer finished.
"Ha ha ha, there's gonna be so many losers at that concert.", Mordecai spoke.
"We have to go to that concert.", Rigby spoke.
"Seriously? Dude, they were cool in the 3rd grade. But now-", Mordecai began.
"Correction, they're cool in any grade, but you wouldn't know that. Probably because you hate yourself or something.", Rigby retorted.
"Dude, we don't have the money for those tickets.", Mordecai stated.
"Doesn't even matter. We can figure out a way, but you're too busy figuring out a way to hate yourself.", Rigby retorted again.
"Why do you keep saying that?", Emily asked.
"If anything, why do you wanna go so bad?", Josh asked.
"Going to this concert could be the biggest moment of my life.", Rigby responded.
"Wow, sounds like your life sucks.", Mordecai smirked.
"SHUT UP!", Rigby retorted before Mordecai laughed just as Margaret walked in.
"Hey, guys.", Margaret greeted.
"Hey, Margaret.", Mordecai greeted.
"Were you guys talking about the concert?", Margaret asked.
"We were talking about a concert. Is the concert you're talking about Fist Pump?", Rigby asked.
"Haha, yeah, cool.", Margaret asked.
"Wait, you're going?", Josh asked.
"Yeah, I am. I know they're kinda old, but I remember them from when I was a kid. Besides, everyone is gonna be there. It's gonna be fun. You guys gonna go?", Margaret asked.
"I'm totally gonna go.", Mordecai spoke.
"Oh, so now you're gonna...", Rigby began before Mordecai punched him.
"Owww...", Rigby groaned.
"We'll be there.", Mordecai spoke.
"And if they're going, so are we.", Emily added.
"Yeah. It could be the biggest night of my life.", Candice added.
"Cool...see you guys there.", Margaret spoke before she then walked away.
"Yeah...see ya.", Mordecai spoke.
"I can't believe you're going to a Fist Pump concert just for some lady pecs.", Rigby spoke.
"Rigby, one day you'll be old enough to understand the real reason that people go to concerts.", Mordecai spoke.
"Whatever, it's to listen to music: I already know that.", Rigby retorted.
"I don't think that's the real reason, Rigby.", Emily argued.
"Well, it's my reason.", Candice responded.
"Ugh. I'll take it, I guess. Now, how are we going to get the money for those tickets?", Rigby asked.
"Dude, it's gonna be easy. We just have to work some extra hours.", Mordecai suggested.
"Extra work? I don't even like regular work.", Rigby asked.
"Do you like Fist Pump?", Mordecai asked.
"Yes.", Rigby responded.
"Hmm, then you like extra work.", Mordecai responded.
"Hmm, fine.", Rigby nodded.
Then, Mordecai and Rigby both nodded with grunts.
Later, at the park, Benson was told their request.
"Let me get this straight. You guys want me to give you overtime, and even though half of you can't even finish the regular amount of work that you normally have, you want me to add on even more.", Benson guessed.
"Yes.", Mordecai responded.
"I can understand Josh and Emily, but you two? Ah ha ha! No.", Benson refused.
"Aw, come on, Benson, please. Fist Pump is playing at Slammers, and we don't have enough money for tickets.", Rigby responded.
"Haha, are you serious? Fist Pump? You know what kind of people go to those concerts?", Benson asked before it showed Muscleman standing on the cart while Hi Five Ghost drove it.
"Whoo! That's right, ladies, we got two tickets to Fist Pump. See ya later, grandmas!", Muscleman shouted as the cart driver away with Rigby grunting aggressively.
"Benson, you listen and you listen good.", Rigby began just before dropping to the ground and pleading.
"Please, Benson, please give us overtime! Please?", Rigby asked.
"What's the big deal? It's just some talentless band.", Benson responded.
"Actually, they aren't that bad, not that I'm into that stuff.", Mona stated.
"We're pretty backed up, though. I think you should give them the work.", Skips suggested.
"Oh, I agree. I say if they want to see 'Pump Fist', then let them see 'Pump Fist'.", Pops agreed before Benson sighed.
"Fine. You can work overtime with Josh and Emily.", Benson spoke before Mordecai and Rigby waved their hands excitedly.
"Here's a list of things we need done. When you finish them, you'll both get your money.", Benson assured as he handed them said list.
"Ohhhhh!", Mordecai and Rigby shouted as they waved again before leaving with a spin with Benson sighing.
"Idiots.", Benson spoke.
"Yeah, but they're kinda our idiots.", Josh responded.
Later, a montage scene followed in which Mordecai and Rigby powered through several chores at regular speed with Josh and Emily doing the same at others, alternating between shifts for every other chore done as Mordecai and Rigby cleaned the gutters first as Josh and Emily cleaned the cart, Mordecai and Rigby took care of the trash, Josh unclogged the toilet as Emily cleaned the counters, and Mordecai and Rigby took care of the dishes with all three done before Rigby stopped the radio.
"Dude, I'm fading fast.", Rigby spoke.
"Don't worry dude. We just got to fight it with coffee.", Mordecai spoke as he poured the drink into Rigby's cup and drank from the pot as Rigby drank from his cup before both eyes widened with their pupils growing bigger before washing the windows on all sides and even swept (and vacuumed) all the dust off the kitchen before vacuuming on the couch cushions before Benson walked in, saw how spotless the room is, and was pleasantly surprised at how sparkling the house is and handed over the overtime pay to Mordecai and Rigby, who vacuumed it up with Benson only shaking his head before walking away with the two then tearing open the vacuum bags to get the money back.
Then, the two stood outside the Slammers club's box office.
"Two for Fist Pump.", Mordecai spoke as he and Rigby placed the money on the admission counter.
"$400.", the guy in the ticket stand spoke.
"What?!", Mordecai and Rigby exclaimed.
"But I thought they were 50!", Mordecai puzzled.
"$50 tickets are sold out. All that's left are Super Deluxe front row seats. In fact, I just gave the last two $50 tickets to a great couple. You just missed 'em.", the guy in the ticket stand spoke.
"Aw, man!", Mordecai groaned as he walked away.
"No, no, no! Mordecai, wait, wait, man, we can't give up. Fist Pump...", Rigby pleaded.
"I know, dude, but I just don't want to work anymor-. Oh my...", Mordecai spoke in surprise, drooling as he saw Margaret in her skimpy Fist Pump top before she waved as he stood in stunned amazement.
"Maybe I could work a little more. Alright, dude, let's do this.", Mordecai decided before noticing that Rigby is down on the ground sleeping.
"You're lucky I care about lady pecs.", Mordecai commented.
Later, he and Rigby spoke with Benson, Josh, and Emily outside Skips' garage.
"Benson, we need more money.", Mordecai spoke as Rigby took a sip of coffee.
"Yeah, give us more money.", Rigby agreed.
"There's no more chores left. Unless... you want to mow the lawn.", Benson suggested.
"The lawn?", the duo puzzled before noticing how huge the lawn is.
"Wow. That lawn is really big.", Emily spoke.
"Aw, what? That'll take forever.", Mordecai complained.
"Here's the keys. You know where the mower is.", Benson spoke before he threw the keys to the duo only for them to hit Rigby on the face, making him moan in pain.
"Josh and Emily, you two keep watch and make sure they get it done.", Benson advised.
"Sure thing, Benson.", Josh agreed before Benson turned back to Mordecai and Rigby.
"As for you two, good luck.", Benson spoke before driving away on the golf cart.
"Hmm, hmm. Who needs luck when we have coffee?", Mordecai asked before he and Rigby weakly shouted.
"Dude, seriously though, my eyes won't stay open anymore, and I think we're almost out of coffee.", Rigby spoke.
"Nonsense, dude, we got plenty of coffee.", Mordecai argued before trying to take a sip from the coffee pot, only to notice that there was no more coffee before laying on the ground.
"Mordecai, what happened?", Rigby asked.
"Need more coffee. Need more Margaret.", Mordecai responded weakly.
"Fist Pump...", Rigby moaned.
"Oh, boy. It really is going to be hard with you two exhausted the way you are.", Emily guessed.
"Coffee, coffee.", a voice rang out before both Mordecai, Rigby, Josh, and Emily exclaimed in surprise from noticing a giant coffee bean clad in underpants and a headband, along with a Japanese man in a business suit, ascertaining that he is translating for the coffee bean.
"Coffee?", the coffee bean spoke.
"Greetings, fellow Fist Pump fans. May we help you get some tickets?", the businessman translated.
"What? Who are you?", Mordecai asked.
"Coffee, coffee.", the coffee bean responded.
"As you can see, I am a giant coffee bean. I can bring you caffeine. Do you accept?", the businessman translated.
"Wait, what?", Mordecai asked.
"Coffee coffee, coffee coffee coffee, coffee coffee, coffee coffee coffee.", the giant coffee bean spoke as he held out a contract that only had the word 'coffee' on it several times.
"Ah, cool, a contract, let's sign it!", Rigby grinned before signing the contract with the Giant Coffee Bean taking it back, pressing it to his stomach area, and absorbing it.
"Coffee, coffee!", the G.C.B. shouted before then pressing his hands together, moving them back to his left side, screaming, and firing a of stream of coffee into Mordecai and Rigby's mouths.
Play Loverboy Music: "Working for the Weekend"
Then, a montage played in which Mordecai and Rigby pumped their fists and drove the lawnmower with the aid of the Giant Coffee Bean's regular infusions of more coffee as Josh and Emily decided to take a nap to enjoy the concert in its entirety later. It was only a matter of time before the lawn was finished with Benson impressed with lawn's condition before the money gets sucked up into the vacuum again with Rigby holding it above him proudly as they drove off into the sunset. Then, the montage ended as Mordecai and Rigby walked into their bedroom and shut the door, new tickets in hand with Josh and Emily already awake.
Everyone's watching, to see what you will do
Everyone's looking at you, oh
Everyone's wondering, will you come out tonight
Everyone's trying to get it right, get it right
Everybody's working for the weekend
Everybody wants a new romance
"Yeah, yeah! Yeah yeah yeah! Yeah, yeah, yeah! Yeah!", Mordecai and Rigby chanted.
"So, how'd it go, guys?", Emily asked.
"Check it. Deluxe tickets!", Rigby spoke as he and Mordecai each presented a deluxe ticket.
"Aw, man, I didn't know deluxe tickets were coated in diamonds.", Mordecai spoke.
"So cool.", Candice spoke excitedly in awe.
Suddenly, the businessman shouted, taking the others aback.
"Where are the other two tickets?", the businessman asked before he and the giant coffee bean spoke up, already in the room.
"Aw, jeez!", Josh exclaimed before Rigby put on his Fist Pump t-shirt.
"There's no 'other tickets', man. We only had enough for two.", Rigby responded.
"But we had a contract.", the businessman spoke.
"Woooooo! Fist pump!", Rigby cheered.
"Woo, Fist Pump.", Mordecai added normally.
"Coffee, coffee, coffee!", the Giant Coffee Bean spoke angrily, worrying Josh and Emily as they noticed.
"Uh, should we be worried about this?", Emily asked before Rigby showed Mordecai a toy gun with a pumping fist on the end of it as well as another.
"Dude, check it. Bang bang! Dude, I've got two if you want to take one to the concert.", Rigby offered.
"Mordecai and Rigby, we are very excited for you to be the ones to see Fist Pump.", the businessman spoke.
"Really, because your friend didn't seem to feel that way.", Josh retorted.
"Yeah, didn't he seem…I don't know, angry?", Emily agreed.
"The anger has passed. Please, Mordecai and Rigby, accept this coffee to help you make it through concert.", the businessman spoke before the two accepted the cups, which had tea bag strings hanging over the side.
"Thanks.", the two thanked.
"Dude, I don't think you should drink that.", Josh warned only for Mordecai and Rigby to take a slurp and begin looking sleepy.
"Hey, what the—this isn't coffee!", Mordecai realized.
"The cups have been tainted!", Candice gasped before both the businessman and the Giant Coffee Bean laughed.
"It's camomile tea. The sleepiest of all teas.", the businessman smirked as Mordecai started to succumb to its effects.
"Rigby, get the—oh...", Mordecai began before noticing that Rigby was already asleep.
"... tickets.", Mordecai finished before falling to the ground.
Sometime later, Mordecai was awakened by a shout.
"Dude, wake up!", Josh shouted.
"Those jerks ran off with your tickets!", Emily shouted before a crashing noise sounded outside nearby.
From the bedroom window, they saw the Giant Coffee Bean ready to drive away with the businessman on the golf cart, complete with Mordecai and Rigby's Fist Pump clothes.
"Hey!", Mordecai shouted before the Giant Coffee Bean looked up, jumped in the cart and drove off.
"Rigby, come on, they got the tickets! Come on, let's go, let's go!", Mordecai urged before running off as Rigby barely recovered and stood up.
"Fist Pump!", Rigby groaned frustratedly and tiredly before the two ran outside to notice the Giant Coffee Bean and businessman heading down the driveway on the cart.
"Dang it! We lost them.", Emily groaned.
"Now what are we supposed to do?", Rigby asked.
"Come on. I have an idea.", Mordecai assured.
Later, outside Skips' house. Benson was walking to the gas pump and whistling contentedly when suddenly, Mordecai and Rigby burst through the garage door on the lawnmower with Josh, Emily, and Candice in tow, passing Benson.
"What is going on here?!", Benson asked.
"Sorry, Benson! No time!", Josh shouted.
It was then that the chase scene chase ensued.
"Coffee.", the giant coffee bean spoke as the subtitles displayed "Take care of them" before the businessman turned to notice Mordecai, Rigby, Josh, Emily, and Candice who pulled up beside the cart.
"Give us the tickets!", Mordecai shouted before the businessman then got out a chainsaw and turned it on, making the group of five scream and duck as the businessman was moved toward them with the giant coffee bean's assistance, sawing the handle for the lawnmower off.
"Oh, no.", Josh spoke before the lawnmower started to go out of control as it moved at random directions, even mowing the roof of the cart off before it rammed into the side of the cart before both arrived at Slammers with both vehicles abandoned as the cart crashed into the box office.
The businessman and Giant Coffee Bean both stood up raced for the VIP entrance, but were intercepted by Mordecai, Rigby, Josh, Emily, and Candice.
"Eh, Mordecai and Rigby. Fancy seeing you here.", the businessman spoke nervously.
"A chainsaw, are you serious?!", Josh shouted.
"There was a child onboard here!", Emily added.
"Yeah! I mean, what's up with the chainsaw?", Candice agreed.
"Coffee! Coffee coffee!", the Giant Coffee Bean shouted angrily at Mordecai.
"Why didn't you buy us tickets?", the businessman translated.
"What are you talking about? We never said we'd buy you tickets!", Mordecai explained.
"But we had a contract.", the businessman responded.
"Shut it!", Rigby shouted before leaning in and snatching back the tickets from the businessman.
'You know, at first, I thought you were cool, but now I know that you're both total losers.", Mordecai spoke.
"Everybody hates you.", Rigby added.
"Oh, and I just realized something.", Mordecai spoke.
"What?", the businessman asked.
"Your coffee sucks.", Mordecai responded.
"Ohhhhhhh!", Mordecai and Rigby spoke in unison as they danced through the VIP door unimpeded as the Giant Coffee Bean and businessmen are turned away by the bouncer.
"So, we go in that way, then?", Josh asked.
"Yup.", Emily responded.
Meanwhile, Mordecai and Rigby are then shown walking down the stairs in the auditorium.
"'Sup, Mordecai.", the Llama guy greeted.
"Hey, dude.", Mordecai greeted before Rigby saw the diamond-encrusted seats at the front and center of the room.
"Dude, there they are!", Rigby shouted before he and Mordecai ran and jumped onto their seats.
"Glad to see you guys here.", Josh grinned a row just above the VIP Seats.
"We did it! Fist Pump! Fist Pump!", Rigby shouted excitedly.
"I wonder where Margaret's sittin'?", Mordecai puzzled before he knelt up on his seat and turn around only for a sweaty Fist Pump t-shirt to hit Mordecai in the face.
"Aw, sick, it's all sweaty!", Mordecai groaned before noticing that Muscleman, now shirtless, was lifting a weight while balancing on two seats several rows back.
"Wooooo! I just threw my shirt! Bring out Fist Pump! Let's do it!", Muscleman shouted excitedly.
"Hey, Mordecai!", Margaret waved a few rows in front.
"Hey, Margaret! Fist Pump!", Mordecai spoke to Margaret.
"Mordecai, you have to meet my boyfriend, Slasher!", Margaret introduced before Margaret's face collapsed and stopped fist pumping.
"Hey, Slasher, that's my friend Mordecai.", Margaret introduced.
"You should tell your friend he should stop pumpin' it in the wind and start pumpin' it at the gym.", Slasher insulted about Mordecai before Margaret pulled her arm away from Slasher.
"Don't be such a jerk.", Margaret spoke angrily before Slasher glared at Mordecai.
"You're dead.", Slasher threatened to Mordecai quietly before he laughed nervously and sank into his seat.
"Oh, this sucks.", Mordecai groaned.
"Aw, don't worry about her, you'll get another chance.", Rigby assured before he and Mordecai, along with Josh, Emily, and Candice, looked amazed as the crowd cheered with a truck with a flaming skull on the front appeared at the side of the stage with a trucker blowing its horn.
"Hahaha, woo!", Rigby cheered before turning to notice Mordecai asleep in his seat.
"Dude, wake up! They're about to come out!", Rigby shouted before his eyes narrowed.
"Wait... must... stay awake... must... see best band of all... time... Hngh… Aw, crud.", Rigby spoke before he immediately fell asleep and snored.
"And that's the kind of thing that happens if you don't take naps.", Emily spoke.
"Good thing we did, though, huh, Candice?", Josh added before he and Candice whooped eagerly.
"'Ello! We are Fist Pump! One, two, three, four!", the Fist Pump singer sang before the screen cut to black as Fist Pump began playing.
A/N: So, what'd you think? Pretty cool DBZ callback from after the contract was signed for more coffee, huh? Well, I gotta get some rest so's I can get Side B ready for tomorrow and post it along with Hulk and Red She-Hulk and The Loud House Rewrite. Until next time. :)
