Chapter 19

(Third Person P.O.V.)

After entering the ice cave Max and Yuuko were both on guard, however what they had failed to notice was Psycho creeping around nearby and could see them thanks to thermal imaging, he then pressed a button on a remote detonator which caused an explosion in the cave which caused an in cave avalanche which Max and Yuuko both ran from as John Dread while using the voice changer to sound like Roberto was on the communicator giving them direction while continuously calling Max, "Hombre" to which Max inquired with, "What's with you keep calling me Hombre, Roberto?! Next you'll be calling me Gringo!" curiously as Dread retorted with, "Sorry, Amigo." calmly and collectively, afterwards John Dread pressed a button on his console which opened a trap door underneath both Max and Yuuko and separated them, sending Max into a giant transparent tube that Psycho added a vile of the infinity ice freezing agent to it before Max could go Turbo freezing him in place in the giant tube, meanwhile Yuuko found herself in a separate location and jumped by two of Dread's goons who then restrained her and carried her off to a holding cell.

While in the cell Yuuko then pulls out a device that she was hiding and uses it to crack the code to the digital lock on her cell door causing it to open, she then makes her way to where Max is, takes out Dread's goons who are watching and guarding him before using the same device to crack the code on the digital lock and open Max's cell, upon opening it Max was now able to quickly break out of the ice and smashed through and right out of his cell, he then looked at Yuuko and exclaimed, "Thanks, but how did you-" before Max could finish his question Yuuko cut him off by saying, "With this." while showing him the device, to which Max immediately tried to ask, "But how did you get-" to which Yuuko cut him off again saying, "Don't ask." before smiling and giving him a wink and giggling a little.

After freeing Max from his cell he and Yuuko were contacted by Dread using the voice changer, "Great job Yuuko, also Max how did you-" Max cut him off saying, "I went Turbo right before they tried to freeze me, the extra burst of T-juice must have melted the ice." to which Dread still posing as Roberto then said, "Yeah but it cost you, your low on Transphasic Energy bro, but anyway Rachel and Marshak are on the way, you and Yuuko should both find a place to hide." Max then exclaimed with, "I'm fine dude, we both are, besides there's a lot more at stake here, there's no way this was all about just capturing me, Dread's plans are never that clean." as he and Yuuko walked into an ice cavern, and John Dread still posing as Roberto then said, "Don't forget the Vice President is in Aspen." to which Max simply replied, "Right." before he and Yuuko spotted Psycho above them and Max exclaimed, "About time Smiley!" eagerly and enthusiastically with a matching facial expression.

Psycho then jumped down and engaged both Max and Yuuko in hand to hand combat, Max then went turbo again, despite the risk because of him running low on Transphasic energy, he then ran and threw a flying sidekick at Psycho who dodged it while Yuuko ran in and sweep kicked him, knocking him down only for Psycho to immediately get back up with a kip up, he then tried to transform his cybernetic arm into either its pincer claw form or laser gun form only for Max to come in and hit it with a big broken stalagmite icicle, damaging his cybernetic arm and causing the built in antifreeze system in it to fail, causing it to rapidly cool due to the cold air and cold atmosphere in the ice cave, not so much that it froze his cybernetic arm frozen solid, he could still move it, but due to the combined damage done to it he couldn't transform it into either its pincer claw form or its laser gun form.

Max while still swinging the broken stalagmite icicle then shouted, "Batter Up!" as Psycho managed to avoid his swings as well as any and all of Yuuko's strikes which consisted of punches, kick, elbow strikes, knee strikes, palm strikes and all other kinds of hand and finger strikes, he then managed to kick both Max and Yuuko away before saying, "Strike three!" to which Max quickly got back up and tackled Psycho, knocking him back hard into a wall of ice which cracked and collapsed in on top of Psycho as Max then exclaimed, "You're Out!" Yuuko then helped Max out of the cave back to their snowmobiles, they then drove off as John Dread watched this from one of his monitors as he saw Psycho get out of the rubble he was buried under in the ice cave and exclaimed, "Steel's outside the cave, getting away!" loudly and clearly for Psycho to hear him to which he replied, "No, he's not!" in slight annoyance as he pulled out a remote detonator as Dread then responded, Psycho wait! I want him alive!" upon seeing this but it was too late as Psycho had already pressed the button on the remote detonator causing several powerful explosives planted on the mountain to explode, causing a massive avalanche, seeing and hearing the explosion outside Max then shouted, "Avalanche!" to Yuuko as they both turned and saw it coming down the mountain right towards them, they then quickly road as fast as they could on their snowmobiles to get away but the avalanche was catching up to them, seeing this Max then used his Bio-link on his wrist to remotely bring Hawk to them to which both Max and Yuuko managed to get inside the cockpit before the avalanche got them and buried their snowmobiles.

Elsewhere Pete saw and heard the avalanche from his location and got worried about both Yuuko and Akihisa, both of whom he still couldn't find.

Meanwhile back with Max and Yuuko who were both flying in Hawk, they were flying out of Colorado as Dread while still posing as Roberto on the communicator proclaimed, "Are you guys sure you want to just leave Pete like this? He's going to be worried about the both of you." curiously as Max replied, "We don't want to talk about it." to which Dread responded, "Okay Jefe but I can't but noticing that you and Yuuko both aren't heading into town to save the VP." to which Yuuko now replied, "Sorry but that's exactly what you wanted us to do, Dread!" calmly collectedly but coldly, to which Dread turned off the voice changer and asked, "So, how long?" to which Max answered, saying, "Long enough for the two of us both to figure out that the real Roberto must have taken Kubo with him and taken their vacation as scheduled, making the whole trip to Aspen part of your plan." to which Dread replied, "Hmm, poor boy, so low on T juice, you must be exhausted." to which Max retorted by saying, "Which means you didn't just want me, you wanted me out of Del Oro Bay!" to which Dread fired back by saying, "And now you're headed back there to foil me, once again, how admirable, and how pointless, my ultimate victory is inevitable, I would have though that you would have understood that by now, Aki-" before Dread could finish his sentence, Max turned off his communicator in his Bio-link while clenching his teeth in anger at having been tricked and manipulated by Dread all this time, hook line and sinker.

Yuuko then opened up a secure communication link in Hawk to N-Tek and announced, "Hawk to base, Hawk to base, this is MX-1 with a priority alert for Akito Yoshii!"

Back at N-Tek HQ Akito Yoshii was standing by waiting for an update as Jean Mairot approached and proclaimed, "Sir, N-Tek island is secure and there is nothing of unusual interest in Del Oro." calmly and collectedly as Akito sighed before he turned and looked to one of the computer monitors which Doctor Yevchenko who looked back at him and simply shook her head, Akito then exclaimed, "Nothing from our new Satellites either." in a slightly irritated tone of voice and matching facial expression over the communicator, to which Max then replied, "There has to be something?! Wait try the temperature sensors!" which Doctor Yevchenko then did which immediately detected something which was then brought on the map screen allowing everyone to see it, Akito then pointed out, "There, where is that?!" calmly and collectedly but still loudly and seriously, to which Doctor Yevchenko pinpointed the location and brought it up on the map screen which everyone including Akito then saw, he then spoke to Max and Yuuko over the communicator, saying, "Max, Yuuko an intense focus of cold is moving across the Bay!" to which Max and Yuuko both replied, "The ferry!" at the exact same time before flying off in Hawk to the ferry's location.

Meanwhile on the ferry a man and a woman open up a container revealing another container which they open revealing the vile of the freezing agent created by Dread known as the Infinity Ice, the woman then grabs the vile with her temperature resistant gloved hand and then turned and looked at the man next to her and asked, "Hey when this goes to work, what happens to us?" to which the man replied, You wanna take your chances with the ice or Dread?" as right when he finished speaking Max then dropped in from Hawk knocking out both the man and the woman but accidentally caused the vile of Infinity Ice to fly out of the woman's hand and over the boat to which max then jumped off of the boat and dove in after the vile and caught it in his bare hand which caused it to freeze just from touching the vile before the vile could land in the water as Akito caught Max with an N-Tek speedboat he was driving keeping both Max and the vile from going into the water as he then looked at his younger brother and worriedly shouted, "Max!" to which Max then proclaimed, "Yeah right, ultimate victory my ass!" before passing out on the floor of the speed boat while still holding the vile.

Later on back at N-Tek HQ Max was being brought in on a gurney as his older brother Akito shouted, "Where are both Kubo and Martinez?!" both of whom responded, "Right here." at the same time as Roberto then stated, "We came back as fast as we could!" as he can Kubo were both working on their computers and looked at Max's condition as Kubo then stated, "He's completely drained!" in a worried tone of voice and matching facial expression upon seeing that Max's body was almost completely out of Transphasic energy as Akito then looked to both Roberto and Kubo and asked, "Are we in time?!" while Max was being placed in the special Transphasic energy chamber machine which was then activated, filling Max with Transphasic energy, completely restoring and reviving him.

Later on Max who was now back to being Akihisa and Yuuko were both in Akito's office being briefed on the situation as to how Dread knew about Akihisa/Max's Bio-link and his secret dual identity as Akihisa asked, "So Akito, any ideas as to how my true identity and the information about my Bio-link got leaked to Dread?" calmly collectedly and curiously as Akito responded with, "Well there is definitely no doubt about it, we've got a traitor/mole in N-Tek who has been feeding information to the enemy." calmly and collectedly as Yuuko then interjected saying, "Well yeah, duh, that is a big obvious there. So how do we find this traitor/mole anyway?" curiously as Akito then replied, "Well I divided up all N-Tek personnel at HQ into units and told them all that Akihisa is heading somewhere different, so if we do have a traitor/mole then we will find them, whoever they are." to which Akihisa nodded his head before saying, "The hunt is on."

Jean Mairot was currently walking very fast through the hallways of N-Tek HQ when he almost ran right into Kubo who accidentally startled him before speaking, "Oh Jean, have you tried this new French vanilla cappuccino coffee made from French roast coffee beans in the break room? It is surprisingly very good." to which Jean replied, "Oh, no not yet, I haven't had time to, I have been very busy with lots of work from Yoshii as of late, like I am currently right now, I'm so sorry Kubo, but I really must be on my way now, I will see and talk to you later, goodbye." to which Kubo responded with, "Oh, well okay then, bye." as Jean quickly walked away from Kubo in a hurry which made him think out loud saying, "Hmm, odd, I would have thought Jean would really like some French roast French vanilla cappuccino coffee since he himself is a Frenchman and wouldn't be so busy that he could at least take break to have a cup, but I guess not." confused as he himself then walked away.
