Chapter 2: An Evolutionary Birthday that starts a Journey to Kanto.

Four years later...

Chase woke up as usual to Pichu licking his face. Today was his tenth birthday, and it had been three years since Harry and Ginny adopted him. He was now Chase Potter. "Pichu, come on buddy, I was gonna get up," Chase said, petting him. He got out of bed and stretched, feeling a surge of excitement. Today was going to be special—not just because of his birthday, but also because of what lay ahead. He removed a Cap hanging on a hook, it was red and white with a green, stylized "L" on the front.

His adoptive relatives were coming to celebrate. Teddy Lupin, Harry's godson, was someone Chase felt particularly close to, as Teddy had also grown up without his parents, despite knowing who they were. Also joining were Ginny's family: her oldest brother Bill, his wife Fleur, and their children Victoire, Dominique, and Louis; her second oldest brother Charlie; her third oldest brother Percy, his wife Audrey, and their daughters Molly and Lucy; her fourth oldest brother George, his wife Angelina, and their children Fred and Roxanne; her fifth oldest brother Ron, his wife Hermione, and their children Rose and Hugo; and finally, Ginny's parents Arthur and Molly Weasley.

"Happy Birthday, Chase!" Albus said, hugging him as he came downstairs.

"Thanks, Albus. You excited to join Pichu and me on our Pokémon journey?" Chase asked. He had invited Albus and Rose to join his Pokémon journey, and they had eagerly agreed.

"Absolutely! I can't wait," Albus replied, his green eyes shining with excitement.

"I'm thinking of starting in Kanto," Chase said, "to find out more about my parents and compete in the Pokémon League."

Albus nodded. "It sounds like an amazing adventure. I've always wanted to compete in The Pokemon Junior Frontier." He said, the Junior Frontier is a Tourney style competition held in the Seven Battle Frontier Facilities, to earn Seven Medals, to compete in the Pokemon Frontier Tournament, where

"And I want to be a Pokémon Coordinator," Rose added as she joined them, her eyes bright with determination.

As they chatted about their upcoming journey, the house began to fill with the cheerful sounds of family arriving. The Potters and Weasleys gathered in the living room, filling the space with warmth and laughter.

"Happy birthday, Chase!" Teddy Lupin said, ruffling Chase's hair as he handed him a brightly wrapped present.

"Thanks, Teddy," Chase said, grinning. He couldn't wait to open his gifts, but he was also eager to share his plans with everyone.

After a hearty breakfast and some time spent catching up, it was time for presents. Chase opened each one with gratitude, feeling more and more excited about his journey. Among the gifts were essential items for a Pokémon trainer: a Rotom from Harry and Ginny, potions, Poké Balls, and a map of Kanto.

As the celebration continued, Chase couldn't help but think about what lay ahead. He was determined to find out more about his biological parents and uncover the mysteries of his past. With Pichu by his side and Albus and Rose joining him, he knew they would make an unstoppable team.

Later that afternoon, as the family gathered around the birthday cake, Pichu began to glow with a bright light. Chase watched in awe as his beloved partner evolved into a Pikachu right before his eyes.

"Pikachu!" Chase exclaimed, hugging his newly evolved Pokémon. "You're amazing!"

Pikachu chirped happily, its tail crackling with electricity.

"An evolution on your birthday! That's a good omen," Harry said, smiling.

Chase beamed. With Pikachu by his side and the support of his family, he felt ready to take on anything. His journey was just beginning, and he couldn't wait to see where it would lead.

As the day came to an end, Chase stood by his window, looking out at the night sky. "Tomorrow, Pikachu," he whispered, "we start our journey. Together."

Pikachu nodded, its eyes full of determination. They were ready for whatever challenges and adventures lay ahead in Kanto.

The next morning, as everyone gathered for breakfast, James stood up. "Good Luck." he said, opening a Poké Ball. Out popped his Cinderace, arms crossed triumphantly.

Chase grinned. "Thank you, James."

Albus holding his Sobble and Rose holding her Scorbunny, respectively, nodded in agreement. Suddenly Grookey leapt onto Chase' shoulder. "Oh hello, little friend." Chase said. As Grookey interacted with Pikachu. "Do you want to join Pikachu and I?" He asked, picking up one of the Pokeballs he received, enlarging it and holding it out to the Grass Monkey Pokemon.

"Key, Grookey Key, KEY!" Grookey said tapping the ball with his Stick then hopping into the Ball, which wobbled and clicked in Chase's hand.

"We'll miss you Chase?" Lily and Hugo said, looking sad.

Chase glanced at Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione who exchanged a thoughtful look. Chase loved Lily and Hugo but, didn't want to give up his Journey. Chase hugged them. "I'll miss you to kiddos." He said. "But I need to do this I have too many questions no answers to them."

The next morning, the Potter-Weasley household was bustling with activity. Lily and Hugo were already at the breakfast table, their companion Pokémon, Yamper and Nickit, by their sides. Yamper wagged its tail happily, while Nickit carefully observed everything around it, its sharp eyes catching every detail.

Chase entered the kitchen, rubbing sleep from his eyes. "Morning, everyone," he greeted, making his way to the table where a plate of pancakes awaited him. Pikachu was perched on his shoulder, eyeing the stack with interest.

As everyone began to eat, Chase looked up from his plate. "Mom, Dad, Uncle Ron, Aunt Hermione?" he asked, glancing over at the adults. " Albus, Rose, are you two ready to get started on our journey?" Before anyone could answer, a movement caught Chase's eye. He turned just in time to see Pikachu snatch one of his pancakes. "Pikachu!" Chase exclaimed, narrowing his eyes playfully at his Pokémon. "What did I tell you about manners?"

Pikachu froze, mid-bite, and gave Chase a sheepish look before quickly devouring the pancake anyway. The room burst into laughter, breaking the tension.

Harry chuckled and leaned back in his chair. "Pikachu certainly has your appetite, Chase."

"You bet we're, ready." Albus said, as his Sobble turned Visible.

Harry looked at the eager faces around the table and finally nodded. "Alright, let's do it. But remember, this journey won't be easy. You'll need to support each other, stay safe, and most importantly, have fun."

"Yes!" Lily and Hugo cheered, and their Pokémon echoed their enthusiasm with barks and chirps.

Chase grinned, feeling a sense of unity and excitement. This journey was going to be the adventure of a lifetime, and with his family by his side, he knew they could face anything.

At the airport, the children were gathered with their Pokémon, ready to board the plane to Kanto. The excitement of the upcoming journey was palpable, but there was also a sense of bittersweetness as they prepared to say goodbye to their parents for a while.

Harry and Ginny hugged each of their children tightly—first their godson Teddy, then their biological sons James and Albus, followed by their adopted son Chase. "Be careful out there," Ginny said softly, her eyes filled with both pride and worry. "Remember, we're just a Floo Call away if you need anything."

Ron and Hermione were doing the same, embracing their daughter Rose. "Look out for each other, okay?" Ron said, patting Her on the shoulder. "And don't forget to write."

Hermione smiled warmly at Rose. "We're so proud of you, sweetie. Stay strong and be safe."

As the final boarding call echoed through the terminal, Chase hesitated for a moment. He looked at Harry and Ginny, his expression serious. "Mom, Dad," he began, his voice steady but laced with a determination that hadn't been there before. "I appreciate all you've done for me. You've given me a home, a family, and so much love. But... I need to know the truth about my biological parents—who they were, or are, why they gave me up, and everything."

Harry and Ginny exchanged a look, one that spoke of countless conversations they'd had about this very moment. Ginny stepped forward, placing a gentle hand on Chase's shoulder. "We understand, Chase. We've always known this day would come," she said softly, her voice full of empathy.

Harry nodded, his eyes reflecting a mix of emotions—sadness, understanding, and something deeper, a respect for the journey Chase was about to undertake. "Your journey to Kanto is important, Chase," he said. "Not just to find out about your parents, but to find out more about yourself. We'll support you in whatever way we can, but some answers... some answers you may have to find on your own."

Ginny squeezed his shoulder gently. "Remember, no matter what you find, you'll always have a family here. You're our son, and we love you."

Chase swallowed, feeling a lump form in his throat. He nodded, unable to find the words to express how much their support meant to him. "I love you too," he managed to say, his voice thick with emotion.

The final boarding announcement echoed again, urging passengers to the gate. With a final round of hugs and goodbyes, the children, with their Pokémon by their sides, turned and began to board the plane.

As they prepared to board, Chase turned back to Harry and Ginny with a determined look in his eyes. "And you promise you'll be there for my battle at the Indigo League Conference?" he asked, his voice full of hope and a bit of anxiety.

Harry smiled warmly, placing a reassuring hand on Chase's shoulder. "We wouldn't miss it for the world." he said, his tone filled with pride. "We'll be there cheering you on, every step of the way."

Ginny nodded in agreement, her eyes misty but full of love. She then turned her attention to Pikachu, who was perched faithfully on Chase's shoulder. Kneeling down slightly to meet Pikachu's gaze, she spoke softly but with great sincerity. "Pikachu, I need you to promise me something too. Watch over Chase, okay? Stay by his side... always. He's going to need you, and I know you'll take good care of each other."

Pikachu's ears twitched as it looked back at Ginny with understanding in its bright eyes. The little Pokémon gave a determined "Pika!" as if to say, "I promise."

Ginny smiled, gently patting Pikachu on the head before straightening up. "Take care of each other," she added, her voice steady but filled with emotion.

As they settled into their seats on the plane, Chase glanced over at Pikachu, who was happily munching away on a bag of snacks. Pikachu had somehow managed to get his paws on the bag during the flight, and it was now stuffing its face without a care in the world.

Chase chuckled softly before reaching over to gently take the bag from Pikachu. "Okay, Pikachu, that's enough," he said, trying to sound firm but not too stern. "You don't want to get a stomachache before we even start our journey."

Pikachu pouted a little but obediently let go of the bag, giving Chase a playful look as if to say, "Just one more?" Chase shook his head with a smile, setting the bag aside. "We'll save the rest for later, buddy. We've got a long adventure ahead of us, and you'll need your energy."

Pikachu nodded, understanding, and curled up contentedly on Chase's lap, ready to enjoy the rest of the flight. Chase leaned back in his seat, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness about what awaited them in Kanto. With his family by his side and Pikachu as his steadfast partner, he knew they were in for an unforgettable journey.

Chase looked over at his friends, a smile tugging at his lips as he asked, "Albus, Rose—any thoughts on a Pokémon you want to catch when we get to Kanto?"

Albus, glancing at Chase with a confident smile, said, "Since, I'm going to compete in the Junior Frontier A Rhyhorn would be a great find—it's tough, and strong in battle."

Rose, always thoughtful, chimed in next. "I'm hoping to catch a Caterpie to evolve into Butterfree. They're graceful and elegant, which would be perfect for coordinating and making our performances shine."

Chase nodded, appreciating their varied goals. Each of them had a unique focus, which would make their journey even more exciting. "Sounds like we've got our work cut out for us. Kanto better be ready for us."

Chase smiled as he gently petted Pikachu, who was snoozing peacefully on his lap. "I want to add a Charmander to my team," he said, his voice filled with excitement. "Charizard are so cool, and having one by my side would be amazing."

Albus nodded in agreement. "Charizard are powerful, and they'd be a great addition to your team, especially for those tough battles."

Rose grinned. "Looks like we'll both have some Fire-types on our teams, then. Maybe we can have a friendly battle once our Pokémon are fully evolved."

"Sounds like a plan," Chase replied with a smile. "I can't wait to see what Kanto has in store for us."

"With, a Butterfree I could definitely get past the first rounds." She said. "With attacks like Silver Wind, Stun Spore, Sleep Powder and Confusion."

"Smart, just like your mother." Chase said. "And, it earned her the rank of Minister for Magic."

Rose smiled at Chase's comment, her eyes lighting up. "Thanks, Chase. Mom's always been super smart and detail-oriented, so I guess I picked up a thing or two from her." She chuckled softly. "But I'm not just her daughter—I want to make my own path too, just like she did."

Chase nodded, appreciating Rose's determination. "I'm sure you'll do great, Rose. And who knows? Maybe one day, people will say your mom sounds like you."

"We gotta stay in our toes though." He said to the group. "Team Rocket could be trying to rebuild itself."

Albus was curious. "Did Ash, lead a full Battle Against them, and Team Rainbow Rocket?" He asked. "They were wiped out?"

"Everyone thought the same about Voldemort after Dad unintentionally kicked his butt the first time when he was a baby, Albus." Chase reminded. "How many times did he come back to bite the Wizarding World in the rear?" He asked. "Team Rocket aren't Wizards but they can definitely reform."

Rose nodded in agreement. "You're right, Chase. Team Rocket's reputation for returning no matter how many times they're defeated is well-earned. It's always a possibility that they're regrouping and trying to find new ways to cause trouble."

Albus looked thoughtful. "I remember hearing about Ash's battles with Team Rocket and Team Rainbow Rocket. They were pretty intense, and it sounded like Ash and his friends had a tough time dealing with them. But even though they were defeated, it doesn't mean they're completely gone. They might be plotting something new."

Rose added, "And just like with Voldemort, evil organizations don't always stay gone. We need to be vigilant and prepared for any signs of trouble. Keeping our guard up will help us handle any potential threats."

Chase agreed, "Exactly. We should stay sharp and keep an eye out for anything unusual. It's better to be ready and not need it than to be caught off guard."

"Makes you wonder, even with Giovanni, Archie, Maxie, Cyrus, Ghetsis and Lysandre gone, Teams Rocket, Aqua, Magma, Galactic, Plasma and Flare can't come back with new Leadership?" He asked. "And what' stopping The Death Eaters from rising back up under a new leader?"

Rose considered the question carefully. "It's definitely a possibility. Even with the leaders of those teams defeated, there's always a chance that new figures could step in to lead these organizations. People like Giovanni, Archie, Maxie, and the others might be gone, but the organizations themselves have deep roots and resources. They could attract new leaders who want to continue their goals."

Albus nodded. "And as for the Death Eaters, it's the same situation. Even if Voldemort was defeated, his followers might still hold onto his ideals and try to revive his cause. A new leader could easily emerge to take up the mantle."

Rose added, "It's important to remember that just because the head of an organization is gone doesn't mean the organization itself is dismantled. The ideology and goals can live on, and it might be up to us to stop any new threats from taking hold."

Chase agreed, "Exactly. We need to be ready for anything. Keeping an eye on these potential threats and being prepared will help us tackle whatever comes our way. For now, we should focus on our journey and our goals, but always stay alert for any signs of trouble."

As the plane touched down and the wheels met the tarmac, Chase felt a rush of excitement and anticipation. He looked at Pikachu, who stirred from his nap and blinked up at him with curious eyes.

"I can't believe it, Pikachu, we're home." Chase said, gently petting Pikachu's cheek. The familiarity of the Kanto region filled him with a sense of adventure and determination.

The group disembarked and took their first steps into the vibrant and bustling environment of Kanto, ready to embark on their journey and face whatever challenges lay ahead.
