After their victory over Beth, the heroes were ready to set out and find the other Poe Sisters. They used the key they found ealier to unlock the door to the next room, managed to avoid the Wallmaster inside, and slayed the Green Bubbles inside another corridor. Sadly, that was as far as they got.

"It's locked?!" Eddy groaned after noticing the door at the end of the corridor was locked, stopping their progress cold. "Great! Now what do we do?!"

"What do you mean 'What do we do?!' We have the map! We have the compass! We have eyes that can see where the other chests are! Chests that are probably holding the other keys we need to continue!" Navi pointed out as she flew closer to Eddy's face before he swatted at her, missing and making her fly back.

"Alright! I get it already!" Eddy huffed. "We gotta go back and find the other keys if we want to continue."

"LET'S FIND THOSE KEYS!" Ed yelled before running back the way they came.

"ED, WAIT!" Edd yelled, to no avail. "Curse Ed's overeagerness!"

"Ah, forget it. Ed can take care of himself." Eddy waved off. "Let's go get the keys."

With that, the three remaining men split up to fan out and find the keys.

It took a while, but the three of them had found what they needed to continue. Not only had they figured out the trick to untwisting the corridor to obtain the Boss Key, which Eddy drooled over because Navi stated it was made of gold, but they found another Gold Skulltula, defeated a Floormaster, which loved to throw very crude hand gestures at it's foes, and obtained the small key needed.

"So, which way was that locked door?" Eddy asked they entered the room with the elevator.

"Let me check the map." Edd said as he opened the map and looked at it. "Where was it?"

"Was it right there?" Ed asked while pointing at the room the four of them were in.

"No, Ed. That's where we are now." Edd answered. He kept staring at the map before lowering it, blinking and looking at Ed standing next to him. "ED?!"

"ED?!" others yelled in equal shock.

"HELLO!" Ed replied with a grin.

"Where have you been, Lumox?" Eddy asked.

"Looking for the key." Ed answered before frowning. "But I didn't find it."

"Cheer up, Ed. This Temple is rather confusing, even with the map and compass." Edd said while gently patting his smelly friend on the back.

"Yeah. But now we can go through that door and why is the green flame back on it's torch?" Eddy suddenly asked.

"I'll tell you why."

The group looked to see a little green flame float towards them, an angry frown on it's face.

"It's because your big, dumb friend here is a big, dumb CHEATER!" Amy snapped.

"What are you talking about?" Navi asked before floating to Ed. "Ed, where did you go after you ran off to find a key to the door?"

"Oh! I ran off and...um...I forget!" Ed exclaimed, making the others in the room balk at him.

"How can you forget?!" Amy yelled.

"He'd forget his own head if it wasn't attached to him." Eddy groaned before grabbing Ed's head and shaking it, knocking his tiny brain around inside his skull. "C'mon, Lumpy! THINK!"

"That's not going to work." Edd sighed before Ed suddenly stood up straight.

"I ran off to find a key to open the locked door, but there was none nearby." he began.

-Flashback-

"LET'S FIND THOSE KEYS!" Ed yelled before he ran back the way they came. He heard Edd yell something, but didn't catch as he kept on running. He ran here. He ran there. He ran everywhere while looking for any unopened chests. After 10 minutes of running, he suddenly stopped after running outside of the Temple and into the Sacred Forest Meadow. "Where did I go?" he asked before turning back around and ran in. He trampled the Wolfos and squished the Skulltula before he stopped on the elevator. "What was I looking for? I'll go ask the others! They'll know!" With that, he ran off in the direction his tiny mind faintly remembered seeing his friends were. He somehow made it back to the door that was still locked, but found that his friends were no longer there. "Eddy? Double D? Link? Navi?" he called out while looking around. He finally looked at the locked door, allowing him to remember why he ran off in the first place. "Oh yeah! We need a key!" he said to himself. "But I didn't find one...I KNOW! Maybe it's on the other side!" he exclaimed. He then ran to the door and, with his freakish strength, ripped the entire door off it's hinges, breaking the chains and lock in the process, before running in and putting the door back in place.

-Present-

The others were staring at Ed with wide eyes as he stopped, his mind blanking on what happened next.

"You...broke the door?" Link asked.

"Yep!" Ed grinned.

"So we didn't need the key?" Link asked again, his tone sounding a little off.

"Nope!" Ed replied.

"So we could've just had you break down the doors to anywhere since the Temple will fix itself later?" Link asked, his breathing becoming heavier.

"Yep!" Ed answered before frowning when he noticed Link start to turn red. "Are you sunburned, Link?"

Rolf was happily feeding the animals inside the barn at Lon Lon Ranch before-

"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"

-an earth-shattering scream ripped through the area, shaking the ground and spooking the animals into a frenzy, trampling Rolf as they ran out of the barn.

"Malon girl!...Rolf requires a bandage!" he said as he laid on the ground in pain.

Amy slowly looked around and carefully moved the tiny arms made of flame away from where he ears would've been, if her flaming form had ears.

"Wow, he's loud." the ghost muttered as Navi floated next to her, her own arms covering her ears as well.

"Yeah...but he's taking it a lot better than those two." the fairy said as she gestured to the others. Amy looked to see Eddy smashing his head against the wall while Edd looked to be taking deep breaths to control himself.

"What are you guys doing over there?" Ed asked.

"Whatever we can to not strangle you, Ed." Eddy answered through grit teeth.

"So what happened next?" Navi asked.

"Um..." Ed said with a blank stare before Navi smacked the side of his helmet. "Oh yeah! I found a room with with spinning floors and a frozen eye. I threw the torch at it and broke it and made hallway twist up."

-Flashback-

Ed was running back the way he came, the once normal hallway now twisted, and knocked the Green Bubbles out of the way before jumping down.

"Key? Where are you?" he asked as he looked around before spying a hole in the floor. He jumped down and looked at the long room he now stood in, a door on the other side and a treasure chest in the middle. "Oh goody goody! A treasure chest!" he yelled with glee as he ran towards it, not noticing the ceiling falling down on him.

CRASH!

"Who's there?" he asked as the ceiling broke over his head, leaving a hole as it rose up before falling on him again.

CRASH!

"Who's there?"

CRASH!

"Who's there?"

CRASH!

"Who's there?" he repeated again before stopping in front of the chest. He opened it and pulled out it's contents, which was a bunch of arrows. "Oooooh! Link can shoot more now!" Ed exclaimed before frowning. "But no key." he said before looking around, his eyes stopping on the door. "Maybe there?" he said before he ran over, the ceiling hitting him again. "Who's there?" he asked before stopping at the barred door. "Key! Are you in there?!" he asked before pushing the door in, the bars denting out of the way.

"And you could've knocked the iron barred doors down as well?" Navi asked as Link just laid on the floor and curled into a ball.

"So many keys and switches we had to find, all of which weren't needed." the Hero of Time muttered to himself.

"He's funny." Amy chuckled before frowning at Ed. "Keep going!...cheater." she mumbled the last part.

"Um...oh yeah!"

-Flashback-

Ed walked into the room and looked around before seeing a portrait of Amy hanging on the wall.

"Hiiiii~" she called out with a wave. "You finally made it! I was getting bored of waiting." She then looked around before staring at Ed. "Where are your friends?"

"They are looking for the key to get through the door I opened!" Ed answered. Amy just blinked at him before shrugging.

"Not gonna ask. Anyway, since you're here, wanna play a game?" she asked.

"Ed likes games!" Ed declared. "What will we play?"

"It's an easy game. I'll come out as blocks, and you have to put them together in a way that looks like me. It's like a giant puzzle!" she began. "But be careful~ Take too long and my pieces will shuffle, and you'll have to put my pieces back together again. And...if I flip the pieces three times, you lose and will be turned into a portrait yourself!" she declared with red eyes. She then pulled up mutliple empty frames, each one with a goofy or elegant lining. "I already picked some out for you and your friends." she said in a friendly manner before putting it down. "Okay! Ready to start?"

"You bet!" Ed yelled.

"I like your enthusiam!" she said before her portrait disappeared into smoke. The smoke floated above the floor before changing into five blocks that landed with a loud thud. "You got one minute! Ready?...GO!"

Ed ran to the blocks and looked at them before lifting one up with one hand.

"Wow, you're strong!" Amy complimented as Ed moved the block to one spot. He then proceeded to move the other blocks into position.

"I win!" Ed yelled.

"Yes. You did." Amy answered before yelling. "NOT! WHY WOULD MY BUTT BE ON MY HEAD?!" she yelled from her messed up picture before a buzzer went off. "Uh oh! Time's up~" she sang before the blocks lifted, twirled around, and landed in a different position. "Try again~"

"Okay." Ed said before he rearranged the blocks.

"Nope~"

He then stacked the blocks.

"Uh uh."

He then stacked the blocks in a way that they were all balanced on a point each.

"Impressive, but wrong." Amy said before the buzzer went off again. "And that's it for this round~ One more loss and you lose the game!" she said as the pieces spun again before landing again. "But I'm nice, so I'll let you choose which frame I stick you in." she said. Ed stared into space before a heavy frown came over him. "What? Don't like the idea-HEY!" Amy yelped when Ed suddenly picked all five blocks up into his arms before throwing them into the air, then juggled them. "WAAAAAAHHH! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!" she yelled as she saw the room spin all around her. "HOLD IT! WAIT! TIME OUT! STOOOOOP!" she yelled.

"Okay!" Ed answered as he stopped juggling and let the blocks fall, the pieces landing in a complete picture of Amy. They then disappeared, allowing a very dizzy Amy to float in the air.

"I don't feel so good." she said before she started to puke.

"Are you okay?" Ed asked before catching the spare block in his arms. "One block left!"

"It's mine." Amy groaned, her eyes still spinning.

"Here you go." Ed said before launching it into the air. "CATCH!"

"Catch?" she said before her eyes focused, then bugged out a second before the block smashed her into the ground.

-Flashback Ends-

"So he crushed me, which got the flame I was holding to come back to it's original spot. And then...here we are." Amy finished before glaring at Ed again. "You rotten jerk! You cheated!"

"Gee, little ghost. I'm sorry." Ed apologized. All she did was turn away with a 'hmph!'

"Well, that was an interesting story." Edd stated after finally calming down.

"Now we just need to find the last one." Eddy spoke up. The others agreed before they suddenly felt a chill in the air, the atmosphere in the room becoming tense.

"Ooooh you don't have to find Meg." Amy said as she slowly floated away, her spirit beginning to faze into the wall. "Meg already found you." she finished before disappearing. The group was backed into each other, all of them frantically looking around.

"First Joelle...Then Beth...And now Amy!" Meg's voice rumbled inside the room. All of them quickly looked up to see Meg floating high above them and looking down at them, her eyes glowing a deep red and the purple flame she was carrying flaring in her torch. "Not even the Godesses can save you!" she roared before she suddenly split into four identical Megs. "DIE!"

The four of them split up as the multiple Megs descended upon them, each one wildly swinging their purple torch at the men.

"Stop! Desist! Wait!" Edd yelped as he dodged her strikes.

"Guys! What do I do?! I can't hit a girl!" Ed yelled as he ran away from his Meg.

"Who cares?! She's a ghost! She's already dead!" Eddy yelled before ducking under a swing from Meg. "That's it! Eat this!" he yelled as he launched a fireball at her. It hit, making her disappear in a puff of smoke, her laughter echoing as two more Megs appeared and attacked Eddy.

"That's not going to work! Destroy one, two take it's place!" one Meg yelled.

"HAIL HYDRA!" Ed yelled. Everyone stopped fighting and looked over at Ed in confusion.

"Wrong genre, Ed." Edd whispered. Another moment of silence passed before the fighting continued. As the four of them faught, they soon came to a realization: The longer the fight went, the more Megs that were appearing. They finally stopped when they saw over 50 Megs floating all around them, all of them giving off a sadistic giggle as they surrounded the heroes.

"Guys, this isn't working!" Navi yelled.

"She's right! We need a new plan!" Edd stated.

"It's no use! No matter what you try, you'll never defeat me!" Meg boomed. "You will die here in this temple, just like those pathetic other worlders did when they tried to resist my master's power!"

"Other worlders?" Link asked. "What are you talking about?"

"She means those humans that Master Ganondorf brought over to our world years ago." Amy answered from behind one of the Megs.

"Indeed. When our master brought them over, they resisted as well. And for their actions, they now rest in Kakariko Graveyard." Meg explained.

It only took a moment before it clicked for the group, their eyes wide in shock.

"You're talking about our parents, aren't you?" Eddy asked, fist clenching in anger.

"Oh? They were your parents? It's hard to tell one stupid mortal from another." Meg said with a shrug.

"That's...IT!" Eddy snapped before thrusting his hands towards the ground, flames erupting and launching him into the air. He then curled into a ball and began to glow red.

"Gentlemen...get down." Edd said before he and the others hid behind their shields just in time as Eddy roared, a massive fireball erupting from him and engulfing all the Megs in one blast.

"...Is it over?" Edd asked as he and Ed carefully peeked over their shields. The area area was singed, with a panting Eddy standing in the epicenter on wobbly legs.

"Take...that." Eddy huffed with a laugh before falling to his knees.

"Eddy!" Ed and Edd yelled as they ran over to their friend.

"Are you okay?!" Edd asked.

"Better than...that ghost bitch." Eddy answered. "Now we...can get on...the elevator."

"We can?" Ed asked.

"Yeah. The flame is back where it was, right?" Eddy asked.

"Um...Eddy?" Edd spoke up.

"What?" Eddy asked.

"If that's correct...then where's the flame?!"

The three of them were all staring at the torch that once held the purple flame, it's light still nowhere to be found.

"Looking...for this?"

All of them snapped their attention to Meg as she appeared, purple flame still alight on her torch.

"I'll admit, that one surprised me." she said before the flame erupted.

"You gotta be kidding me!" Eddy whined as Ed and Eddy raised their shields to defend themselves.

"A lesson to share with your families in the afterlife. Always be aware of your surroundings on a battlefield!" she lectured.

SLASH!

Meg's eyes shot open before her torch slipped from her grasp.

"You should take your own advice." Navi said from behind her as Link put his blade away. Meg slowly turned her body and glared at Link, her body slowly splitting into two.

"Curse...you..." she said before both halves hit the floor and burst into flames.

"Is she gone this time?" Ed asked before the purple flame appeared in it's rightful place, allowing the elevator to rise up from the floor.

"I believe she is." Edd said with a sigh of relief.

"Awww. Meg lost too?" Amy asked before Meg's spirit appeared next to her.

"You rotten heroes. Don't think this is over!" Meg growled. "You may have defeated all four of us, but you're nothing compared to the guardian of this Temple! Mark my words, this Temple will be your grave!"

"Blah blah blah! Go away!" Eddy yelled before snapping his fingers. "Ed?"

"Gotcha, Eddy!" Ed grinned before taking a deep breath and blowing both spirits away with a mighty gust of wind.

"Well, that was certainly a tough fight." Edd said while wiping the sweat from his forehead.

"That was awesome, Eddy! You blew them all up, and then Link got the last one!" Ed cheered.

"It's too early to celebrate, Ed. Those four were just keeping us up here." Navi reminded him.

"Navi's right." Link said as he stared at the elevator. "The real fight begins wherever this elevator takes us."

"Alright then. Let's...go." Eddy said as he tried to stand, only to fall to one knee.

"Perhaps we should rest for a moment. If we try to fight whomever is the cause of the evil infesting the Forest Temple is our current condition, I believe it could be...our end." Edd surmised after swallowing the lump of fear in his throat.

"Yeah...You're right." Link agreed before he took a seat.

"Ed is pooped." Ed groaned as he fell flat on his face while Edd decided to take stock of their current provisions and equipment.

"Just wait a little longer, Saria." Link whispered.
