The room buzzed with tension, every member of the pack on edge as Brian's cries of pain echoed through the house. Dominic Toretto's grip on Brian's trembling hand was firm, anchoring him through each wave of agony. His alpha instincts screamed to take control, to protect and shield his mate, but this wasn't a fight he could win with brute strength.
"Dom," Brian whimpered, his voice cracking. "Something's wrong."
Those three words were enough to send a chill down Dominic's spine. His normally steady heart pounded like a drum, and his chest tightened with an overwhelming need to fix whatever was hurting his omega.
"You're safe," Dom growled, his voice low and guttural, thick with alpha promise. He brushed the damp strands of hair from Brian's face, his dark eyes locking onto Brian's blue ones. "I've got you, baby. Nothing's taking you away from me."
The pack felt the shift immediately. Letty was at the door in seconds, barking orders into the phone to get the healer there faster. Mia and Roman moved to prepare the space, instincts kicking in to ensure Brian had everything he needed. Even Tej and Han stood guard, alert and ready to respond.
Brian writhed on the bed, gasping for air as a contraction ripped through him. "Dom, it hurts—more than before." His voice was raw, broken, and Dom clenched his jaw so hard it ached.
"You're not alone," Dom whispered fiercely, pressing a kiss to Brian's clammy forehead. "We're all here. The pack's got you."
The healer arrived in a blur, her presence a calming counterbalance to the panic saturating the room. "He's in distress," she said quickly, her hands glowing as she examined Brian. "The baby is breech—feet first. This isn't going to be easy."
Brian's whimper turned into a low, keening cry, the sound making Dom's alpha instincts flare. He climbed onto the bed beside Brian, cradling him protectively. "We'll get through this," he promised, his voice a growl of determination.
Letty knelt by Brian's side, her face uncharacteristically soft. "You're tough as hell, Brian. We know you can do this. But you've gotta let the healer work, okay?"
Brian nodded weakly, his eyes searching for Dom's as he gripped his hand like a lifeline. "Don't let go," he whispered.
"Never," Dom rumbled.
The healer's hands pressed firmly on Brian's abdomen, her magic weaving through the pain as she began to turn the baby. Brian screamed, the sound raw and primal, and Dom tightened his hold, murmuring soothing words.
"Almost there," the healer said, her tone calm but urgent. "Brian, you're strong, but I need one last push to get the baby into position."
The pack closed in, their energy palpable. "You've got this!" Roman called, his usual humor gone, replaced with fierce encouragement.
Brian let out a strangled sob, his body trembling with exhaustion. "I-I can't…"
"Yes, you can," Dom snarled, his voice thick with authority. "You're my omega, Brian. The strongest omega I know. Now push—one last time. For our pack. For our baby."
Brian's scream rose, his body arching as he gave everything he had. The healer's hands worked quickly, and finally, the tension broke.
"The baby's turned," she announced, her voice filled with relief. "Now, we just need to deliver."
The room buzzed with renewed energy. Dom stayed close, his hand never leaving Brian's, while the pack offered words of encouragement from every corner. Brian pushed, his cries tearing through the room, but he didn't stop.
And then, the first wail of their child filled the air.
Dom's chest swelled with pride as the healer placed their baby on Brian's chest. "You did it," he murmured, his voice cracking.
But the moment of relief was short-lived. The healer's face darkened as she noticed the blood pooling beneath Brian. "He's hemorrhaging," she said sharply. "I need space to stop the bleeding."
The pack moved as one, their instincts sharp and unified. Letty grabbed towels, Mia steadied the healer, and Roman barked for more supplies. Dom stayed rooted, his forehead pressed to Brian's.
"Stay with me, Bri," Dom whispered, his voice a desperate plea. "You're not leaving us. You hear me? You're my mate. My everything."
Brian's eyes fluttered open, his lips curving into a weak smile. "Dom…"
"You're ours," Dom growled. "Me, the pack, and now this little one. You don't get to quit on us."
The healer worked quickly, her hands glowing as she staunched the bleeding. Slowly, Brian's color began to return, and his breathing evened out.
"He's stable," the healer finally said, her voice filled with relief. "He needs rest, but he'll be okay."
Dom let out a shaky breath, tears streaming down his face as he cradled Brian and their newborn close. "You scared the hell out of me," he whispered, his voice raw.
Brian gave a soft laugh, his eyes fluttering shut. "Told you… I'm not going anywhere."
As the pack settled, their bond stronger than ever, Dom knew one thing for certain: they weren't just a family—they were a pack. And nothing would ever threaten what they had built together.
