After years of favours and exploration, Lucifer decides to have his crew rest up in the City of Eden. Along the way, he happened to come across a familiar face: Dan Espinoza. Lucifer has some history with Dan Lucifer refers to him as Douche because of his initial behaviour. He eventually learns to be better after they go their separate ways. As Lucifer lets himself on board Dan's ship Weaponizer, he sees that Dan has got himself into some situation. His ship is overrun with bandits and they are attacking the crew. After Lucifer and his crew managed to help out dealing with the bandits, Lucifer noticed how Dan took care of the remaining few. Dan even managed to get through tough downs until the last one was finally knocked out. "Not fighting like a douche anymore I see" Lucifer called out which caught Dan's attention. "Lucifer? Speak of the actual devil" Lucifer grins at the mention. "What are you doing here?" Dan asked in confusion. "What? An old friend can't come by and say hello?" Dan rushes over and motions Lucifer to come along to the captain's quarters.
Lucifer wanders around and sees numerous books and souvenirs that Dan has been collecting over the years. "Lucifer, we need to talk" "So much has changed since I last saw you. How long has it been? Hm? 10, 15 years? At least you're not being a douche anymore" Dan got annoyed with the mention of that nickname. "You just disappeared years ago and you just showed up unannounced, thinking everything was just fine" Lucifer turned to face Dan. "Well yeah. You have your own life. I even offered you to join my crew of demons but you refused, remember" Dan softened a bit before answering "Yes and I decided to go for a different direction" Lucifer noticed the certificate of one of the top positions of the Police in the City of Eden as well as a detective. "I see. But hey, I gave you a choice and what happens next, that's up to you. Not me. And certainly not even Him." Gesturing towards his father, God at the heavens. "But I have to ask, where were you? I mean you disappeared and you just showed up here, man." "Come on Douche. Or should I say, Detective Douche? Has a nice ring to it don't you think?" All Dan did in that response was roll his eyes in annoyance. "And besides, the devil doesn't just hang around. Besides, you are doing just fine without me. Except with that attack that I just assist you with. What's that all about?" Dan went to the door to lock and make sure that nobody was listening. "Those bandits that you have witnessed are apparently after Azrael's blade …" Lucifer suddenly felt shocked and confused about why would bandits are interested in such a thing. Azrael's blade is so powerful that it can smite anyone out of existence, both mortal and immortal beings alike. "… which it's not here. They go on to complete something but I can't reveal anything to them" Dan noticed Lucifer being distracted. "You ok, Lucifer?" Lucifer snapped back to reality. "Yeah, I'm good" All of a sudden, a massive attack occurred on the ship with large tentacles. "What the?" Dan expressed as he ran to the door, unlocked it and ran outside along with Lucifer who saw a giant Kraken attacking the Weaponizer.
"Dear God!" Dan mutters in annoyance. Lucifer was more annoyed when he mentioned his father in front of him. "Well, unfortunately for you, he's not going to help. Anyway, it looks like my crew is waiting for me now and I see that you are going to be fine" he said as he went off back to Lux. "Hold on, you're just going to walk off." Lucifer turn back "I could fly but I don't have my wings and like I said, it looks like you're going to be just fine" Dan looks at him with disbelief and goes off to help his men take care of the Kraken. As Lucifer is about to board his ship, tentacles come out of nowhere and separate the two ships, causing damage to Lux as a result. Some of the masts landed on Amenadiel which prevented him from going out and helping his brother. All Lucifer can do is watch as the Kraken cause more trouble to Lux. "My ship!" Lucifer shouts out angrily.
Meanwhile, Dan did what he could to fend off the Kraken along with his men. But every time they land a blow on the creature, nothing seems to affect it. As Dan lands on one of the tentacles to attempt to damage it, the Kraken knocks him out of the way and disarms him. This gives Kraken the right opportunity to grab one of the armed men and eat him up. Just as Dan felt like he was losing hope in dealing with such a beast, he heard a familiar sound "Heads up!". Dan turned and saw Lucifer holding a torch. With the torch, he lit the nearby bomb and tossed it up in the air with his super strength. The Kraken sees the bomb as a pretty shiny object and eats it. Afterwards, Lucifer rushed to Dan's side and helped him onto his feet. "Now, stand by for calamari!" For a moment, nothing happened. And then, they heard a loud bang coming from inside the creature. It didn't kill it but it makes it out vomit all over the crew. It even barfed out the soldier that it had eaten earlier. Instead of hiding out in fear, he got back on his feet and rushed out to get back into the fight. That astonished Lucifer so greatly "You humans never cease to amaze me" The bomb makes the Kraken madder than ever and becomes more destructive to the ship. "Come on Lucifer, we need to go…" Lucifer stopped and calmed Dan down. "Easy Detective Douche!" Lucifer whistled to get the Kraken's attention. Once the Kraken sees the little devil, it sticks out its tongue to capture him. Only Lucifer pushed Dan away, seized his sword and pinned the Kraken's tongue down to the deck of the ship. Now that the Kraken is trapped, Dan commands his men to fall back while Lucifer comes up with a plan to deal with the Kraken once and for all.
As Lucifer looks around the deck and based on the sails, he reckons that they would be enough to deal with the Kraken. Lucifer reached out to Dan and put him into position. "You got a plan, Lucifer?" "How about trying not to get killed by our squid friend here? Do you trust me?" Even though he had no clue what was going to happen next, Dan nodded in agreement. "Good. Now sit tight and make sure you catch on your way down." All of a sudden, Lucifer launched Dan up in the air and he managed to catch the sail on the way down. "Also, you need this!" He throws a knife to the mast right next to Dan where he can grab from. "Where are you going?" "Just getting into position" As Lucifer weaves his way past the tentacles, he grabs one of them which launches him up in the air and he lands right onto the other sail. He positioned the sail so that it also aimed at the Kraken. Lucifer and Dan looked at each other with confidence on their faces as they knew what they had to do next. After Lucifer gave the signal, they each cut the rope that launched their perspective sails right onto the Kraken, killing it. The crew cheers with victory along with Lucifer and Dan who landed on deck safely. "You ok?" Dan walks towards Lucifer "Yeah, thanks for helping" Lucifer feels appreciated and Dan continues with "Why don't you stick around?" Lucifer was considering it but deep down he did not feel like it. "Thanks for the invitation but I got to go and check on with my crew after the squid attack" While Dan is saddened by Lucifer's decision, he understands what just happened with the Kraken. Dan looked back to see that his crew was still in good shape despite the attacks and when he turned back, he found Lucifer already gone. Dan looked around to figure out where he went off to and notice him are already back to his ship.
Amenadiel gave Lucifer a lift back to Lux and his crew cheered to see that their Captain was still alive. Dromos went forward to Lucifer "Glad you made it, my Lord!" He turned towards one of the demons "You see Squee! I told you he would make it. Pay up" Squee reluctantly give him money on the bet that they made earlier. Amenadiel take a good look at Lucifer "What is it, Brother?" Lucifer looked back at Amenadiel and motioned him to go somewhere quieter. They both go up to quarterdeck. "It's just that, while I had a catch-up with Dan, he told me that those bandits who fought his crew were after Azrael's blade" "Azrael's Blade?" Lucifer and Amenadiel turned to see Mazikeen are just a few feet away from them. "Why would some human want some blade?" Amenadiel explained "It's not just an ordinary blade, it can erase anyone out of existence" Lucifer explained a bit more "No heaven or hell. Just gone. It's even more dangerous for humans as they are more malleable than we are. It whispers in their ears, begging them to be used." Maze comes up with a scenario "Someone did the one simple thing wrong" "Trip to shabby town yes" later confirmed by Lucifer. Maze looks impressed but Amenadiel thinks otherwise. "Back to the matters at hand. What would the bandits want with the blade?" That question had struck Lucifer as he wandered to the side of the ship and watched the Weaponizer sail off. "Lucifer?" Amenadiel called out which made Lucifer snap back into reality. Lucifer turned back to Maze and Amenadiel. "I don't know. Lucky for us, we know the blade's whereabouts and as a matter of fact, that's where we are heading" Amenadiel understands Lucifer's statement and takes the helm. Maze goes out to the other demons to make sure they are back to work. Lucifer looks out to the horizon with many questions in their head. What everyone doesn't realise is that in the crow's nest, Gabriel is watching and listening to their entire conversation. After they went off to do their own thing, Gabriel took off with her wings and got herself off of Lux immediately. "Lucifer starting to be aware of Azrael's Blade, I better tell Michael" Then, she flew off and disappeared into the distance.
