The crew managed to find the nearest island that had supplies. As fate has it, it doesn't stay away from the direction where they need to go. Lucifer has some look around to get a good idea of what to get. Afterwards, he orders the demons to fetch them in a limited time for they need to get to Hell as quickly as they can. As a precaution, he even told them that they needed to get as strong materials as they could find as they didn't want another catastrophic event to cause much further damage to the ship. Lucifer has noticed that Chloe is about to join them. "Woah, Detective! Where are you going?" Chloe turns towards Lucifer to give a straight answer "Getting supplies for the ship" Chloe carries on her merry way. Lucifer tries to stop her but he sees that nothing would change her mind. "Fine but at least get Maze to come with …" By surprise, some of the demons are being nicer than before and let Chloe in with the group. Maze and Amenadiel watches from behind. "It's nice to see that they are behaving" Amenadiel points out. Lucifer commands Maze to go with Chloe and she argues why. Lucifer doesn't want to take any chances so Maze puts on a pouty face and goes to Chloe. Amenadiel sees how protective Lucifer is. "What?" "I think you care about that detective" Lucifer looks back out in confusion with a scoff "Me?" He has noticed how close demons were to Chloe so he volunteers himself to go after the group. Amenadiel stayed behind to keep up with repairs and made sure that the rest of the crew stayed in line.
Lucifer hurried up with the group and Maze noticed him joining in. "Why the change of heart, Lucifer?" "Well, Lux needs the right supplies for the trip" Maze feels the need to push deeper "Or to get close to a certain human?" That quote gets on his nerves which he knows is what Maze intends to do so he ignores her taunts as best as he can. Lucifer calls out to Chloe "Just what is this all about anyway?" Chloe responds "It's about repairing the ship. I broke something, I should fix it." "And how would you know to fix a ship?" Chloe walks towards one of the trees and calls out for a knife. Lucifer mocks to suggest that he would give her a weapon until out of nowhere, the accompanied demons show their blades to Chloe. She selected the one that Maze was holding. "Thanks, Maze, your blade should do the trick" Lucifer's expression went from surprised to a little grumpy. Maze noticed the expression and moved towards him "Oh, is the Devil having a little tantrum" she whispered to him. Lucifer let out his devil eyes at her as he gestured to stay out of it. "What? You're going to cry like a baby" Maze mockingly in her amusement. It made Lucifer go on out in rage towards Maze "You will not speak to me this way". It doesn't threaten Maze but adds to her enjoyment because torturing someone is more fun for her. Maze went on her merry way to the background as she thought to herself to watch from the sidelines. She sensed that it was just the beginning. Lucifer however is not blinded by that. "Oh great, I have been tortured by my top demon. Just great!" Luckily for him, the other demons were more focused on what Chloe was doing.
But hearing how Chloe is praising might not be helping Lucifer as much as he likes. "How she managed to save the ship back then, that was brave" Chloe heard that compliment "Why to thank you Gromos" As Chloe carried on collecting tree sap, a couple more demons shared other compliments about Chloe. They have mentioned that she's resourceful, smart and very considerate. While Lucifer does agree, he can't hold it as these compliments just make him more jealous. It became so much that he expressed "Please! None of you would even lay a single finger on this human" What Lucifer had just stated caught Chloe's attention. Lucifer continued ranting while Chloe was listening. "This human is off limits. You got that" "And what makes you the authority of that?" Chloe snaps back at Lucifer. "Well one thing, I'm the Captain of this crew and you are a guest. On the other hand, if anyone is going to get close to you, it's me. After all, I have seen the 'kind of men' that you surround yourself with" While Lucifer tries to be charming with his second statement, Chloe does not fall for it and keeps a straight face. "Excuse me" Demons give the pair some room as they can sense something is up between them "Don't get me wrong, Detective but you have something about you" Chloe gets the sense of what Lucifer is talking about and she feels the need to get things straight with Lucifer. "Ok, let myself be clear …" Chloe states as she gets closer to Lucifer "… I would never, never, ever, sleep with you" Lucifer eyes towards her "You sure about that, Detective?" "Until Hell freezes over" "I can arrange that actually" "How when you can't even go there yourself?" That comment left Lucifer stunned for a moment and also made the demons impressed "Ooh!" "Well played Detective but it hasn't stopped me before" Chloe sees how stubborn Lucifer is.
Before Chloe makes a comeback, the whole island is about to shake which stops the banter. Everyone looks around as the vegetation of the island starts to disappear. "What the?" Lucifer muttered as what appeared to be a large light coming from what appeared to be an antenna that was part of the island, going towards the group. Lucifer initiates a command "Everyone holds your ground" Nothing happens for a while until the ground splits open, separating the group in half. What is revealed to the group is what appears to be a giant eyeball. It looks towards one half of the group and then towards the other half. This island is not just an island, it's a giant fish. The group rushes back to Lux while trying to avoid the obstacles as the fish continues to move. Lucifer shouts out towards Amenadiel to get his attention. Amenadiel heard the commotion and saw some parts of the island starting to move. It was a giant fin that hit the ship as the island doesn't resemble an island at all; instead, it's a great giant fish. Meanwhile, on the fish itself, the group tries to navigate through the changing scenery. Lucifer noticed that the fish was going underwater. Lucifer's first instinct is to lead Chloe through the safe route. The demons manage to follow behind. After one big jump to the next section of the land (sorry, fish), Lucifer makes sure that she's not hurt from the landing. As the rest of the group follows pursuit, everyone finds them sledding towards the open water. Amenadiel found the crew and positioned the ship to catch the group. As the group makes one final leap, Lucifer grabs hold of Chloe who is holding him for safety. Lucifer grabs onto one of the ropes and swings, while holding Chloe, til they hit the deck of the ship. The demons managed to land safely among the other ropes and make their way towards the deck.
As the crew find the ground, Lucifer lets Amenadiel take hold of the helm as the waters are getting rough because of that giant fish. Chloe has spotted the Morning Star and luckily, the fish is heading towards that direction. Lucifer suddenly had an idea and ordered Belios to tie up the rope. He was confused at first but it didn't stop him from getting the job done. Lucifer launched the hook which managed to land on the fish. Lucifer was relieved that the hook made it, he turned back to the helm where Chloe was. What he sees is that Chloe looks impressed with his quick wits which also makes Lucifer smile a little bit. "Hold on everyone! We are going on a Hell of a ride" Lucifer announced. The little wordplay made Chloe roll her eyes but Lucifer did catch a little glimpse of a smile on her face which made Lucifer feel proud of his quote. What's next for the crew of the Lux is a roller coaster-like ride as the ship is going across some wild waves that were caused by the giant fish. At least this gives the crew a shortcut towards their destination.
A couple of hours later, the ship is still connected to the fish and the crew went in a very far distance. However, the crew does feel very seasick from the rough waters. Even Lucifer feels like he's going to vomit. Amenadiel called out "Lucifer, the demons can't take it anymore. We need to stop this" "Couldn't agree more, brother. Cut the line!" After the rope had cut, the ship began to settle on the calm waters as the fish carried on its way into the ocean. Lux ended up near a structural landmark but the crew is more focused on settling down, hoping to ease the seasickness before it gets worse for them. At one part of the ship, Lucifer takes a seat. He may have a supernatural metabolism but this is something that he couldn't predict that would happen to him. "Who came up with this idea?" He expressed to himself not knowing that Chloe was close by. She answers his question which surprised him at first. "It was a good idea, but that person owes me a drink" The comment made Lucifer smile which Chloe also smiled. Lucifer take a good look around to get a good idea where they are now. Judging by Lucifer's expression, the entrance to Hell is not far away now. Lucifer noticed Chloe was right by his side. "I reckon that you never thought that we are this far away from the City" She replied "No. But I got a feeling that Dan would. He puts a lot of faith in you" Lucifer looks away with a little sadness in his face. "Why would he? No one would even consider" Chloe does notice so she thinks about asking him some questions. What she asked first was how Dan and Lucifer met in the first place. So he explains the story to Chloe. She probably asked Dan before but she likes to hear Lucifer's side of the story and he tells more parts in detail. So, according to Lucifer, Dan was in a rough patch when he met him. Dan was very corrupt in the City. He secretly steals cash and lies about his intentions. He would even let a bad person free if he could get something out of it. There were moments when he felt like he was doing it for the greater good but really, it was only for himself. One day, he came across some gang members who Dan is familiar with. He owes them some cash for bailing on them for the authority and they arrive for some revenge. Lucifer happened to be nearby when he saw that Dan was in a rough patch. By using his charms and his mojo, he manages to deal with the thugs. When it comes to shove though, he did have to scare them off with his … "Deviled eggs, everyone!" Out of nowhere, a demon came out onto the deck with some snacks to share with the other demons and that moment just interrupted the story. Lucifer didn't say what he was about to say before that happened but he figured that Chloe would get what he meant. She responds with a gesture that she does so Lucifer continues. What he said next is that after the thugs were dealt with, Lucifer had a little chat with Dan. He was curious about how Dan got into that mess so he used his mojo on him. What Dan desired was a chance to redeem himself. Dan told his backstory to Lucifer and Lucifer offered to join him in his crew as one of their own. Lucifer thought that it would give Dan a chance to get out of the City for a fresh start. But Dan turned the offer down, and Lucifer let him make his decisions. Lucifer even remarks that he always does. While Chloe was listening, what she learned made her understand Lucifer a bit more. Lucifer concludes his story with him wandering off but he got a feeling that after that encounter, Dan changed direction. Lucifer just didn't expect Dan had become what he is today.
Chloe asked "So you make deals as a way to help people" Lucifer responded with "I guess but I can't control what happens after I have done the favour. I mean if there's one thing the Devil knows is that people need to take responsibility for their bad behaviour." After a brief pause, Lucifer added another statement sadly. "But it doesn't stop humans to blame me. Even simply me being there is a problem" Lucifer have noticed that Chloe has been looking at him differently. Like she's looking at him with sympathy. It's something that no one had expressed before. Since Chloe looks more open up, he tries to use his powers on her, just to know about her more. Chloe appears like she is in a trance of a moment which makes Lucifer think that he finally got it to work on her. Only for Chloe to turn the tables on him by saying "Really? You're trying that again. Didn't we already establish that trick doesn't work on me?" Lucifer replied with "No. Of course not. Old habits I guess" Lucifer goes off to check on the ship. All Chloe could do was watch and think to herself. From many stories about the Devil, getting to know Lucifer more, she sees him more as his true self and she considers that what she heard from other sources is not completely accurate. She also considered that Lucifer didn't get much meaningful connections with anyone. Due to these stories, it must have made it hard for him.
Back in Hell, Michael has grown frustrated with Lucifer's progression. Gabriel is even on his side, watching him as he tries to come up with other solutions. She has mentioned how Lucifer is getting close to Chloe. "That annoying human is what made Lucifer come over here. But why? What does Lucifer see in her?" "I'm not sure Brother, but this one is unique." What Gabriel has stated made Michael curious about Chloe. "What do you mean by unique?" Gabriel has been sharing what Chloe has been doing on Lux ever since she arrived. The demons have been much nicer than before, Maze getting along with everyone on board (with no killing which is unusual for her) and she has to mention what Lucifer was doing recently. Lucifer makes sure that she's protected at all costs, he is willing to follow her lead on some things and she has to mention how Lucifer's powers don't work on her. From what Michael gathered, she might be a key to slowing his twin brother down. He suggested that a certain creature should give the crew a visit. And while they are distracted, Gabriel and Michael will find some answers about Chloe Decker.
