A/N This is the same author who wrote the first chapter of this story. I got a little mixed up in my accounts so I have to re upload it to this account.
Theodore Nott woke up in his bed in the 3rd year Slytherin dormitory on a Saturday morning and turned to his side, looking at his best friend Draco Malfoy in surprise.
Normally, Draco is the one that is always up earlier than everyone else, getting last minute homework done or writing a letter to his mother, Narcissa Malfoy , or his little sister , Matilda Malfoy. It was shocking that Draco was still asleep.
Maybe he just woke up extremely early? He looked toward his clock on his nightstand. It read 9:30 a.m.
No, he definitely did not wake up early.
So why was Draco still sleeping?
Just then, a rough cough pulled Theo out of his thoughts. Theo sat up in bed. The rough cough was followed by a series of wet sneezes. It was coming from Draco's direction.
" Could it be that Draco was sick?" Theo thought.
Now, you may think that it would not be that hard to believe that Draco was sick, since he was playing in a Quidditch match against the Griffindors the night before , but, in the 3 years that Theo had known Draco, Draco had never gotten sick, even when a huge flu virus had been going around.
Theo got out of bed and walked over quietly towards Draco's bed, where he found Draco coated with sweat, thrashing in his blankets as though they suffocated him.
Theo placed the backside of his fingers on Draco's forehead. He didn't like what he found. Draco's forehead was burning. He was running a fever.
Theo panicked. He didn't know what to do. He had never taken care of a sick person before.
Then, a lightbulb went off in his head. He could ask Daphne!
Daphne Greengrass, Theodore Nott, Tracey Davis and Draco Malfoy were best friends since their first year at Hogwarts. Daphne had a little sister, Astoria Greengrass.
She must know how to take care of someone ill! She must be in the library. She's always in the library.
Theo took off towards the library, where he knew that Daphne would be there, since she was always finishing off homework in the library after breakfast on Saturday mornings.
"Daphne!" Theo yelled, running into the library. Madam Pince glared at Theo in disgust at his loud voice and panicked entrance. Several students also glared at him for disturbing them.
Theo threw Madam Pince an apologetic look and raced towards Daphne, where she was staring at him incredulously.
When he finally caught up to her, she whisper-yelled, " What are you doing, rushing into the library in your pajamas! Why are you disturbing the peace? What's wrong?"
Theo stared down at his green and black plaid pajamas and his bare feet, a blank look on his face. He muttered,'Oh." and looked up. He shrugged.
He bent down and whispered the situation in Daphne's ear. Her eyes widened as she took in this new information.
When he finished , she calmly stood up, grabbed her things and walked out of the library, Theo trailing after her.
As she walked out of the library, she waved goodbye to Madam Pince.
" So when did he start having these symptoms?" She asked Theo as they fell in step together as they walked to the Slytherin common room.
" Well, I don't know. I just woke up and he was like this . Why? Do you think that his illness is serious?" He asked, obviously worried for his best friend.
" No, I just want to know all of the facts." Daphne said.
They finally arrived to the Slytherin Boys dormitory. There was no one in there. Daphne turned to face Theo, hands on her hips and a scowl on her face.
" Did you drag me all the way over here and distract me from my Transfiguration homework for nothing?" She asked in a deathly dangerous tone of voice, her pale blue eyes flashing.
