When they finally arrived at the hospital wing, Draco looked seconds away from dying. He was so exhausted. He crawled up to an empty bed and laid down.
The other three healthy Slytherins exchanged worried looks. They had never seen their best friend like this before. He was normally so well composed and well, let's say it, regal. Now he looked so weak, so vulnerable.
Suddenly a groan of pain interrupted them. They nearly gave themselves whiplash as they turned their attention towards their best friend.
Draco was clutching his stomach, tears of pain in his eyes. They ran toward him.
"Draco, what's wrong?", Daphne asked worriedly.
Draco didn't answer.
"I'll go get Madam Pomphery. She must be in her office." ,Theo said, racing to the back of the hospital wing where Madam Pomphery's office was.
"My stomach hurts.", Draco gasped through the pain in his eyes.
"Cramps?" Tracey suggested. Draco nodded. Tracey smiled sympathetically.
"What's happening in here?", Madam Pomphery asked as she rushed to Draco, Theo trailing behind her.
Tracey moved aside so Madam Pomphery could take a look at him.
"What's the matter Mister Malfoy?" Madam Pomphery asked kindly.
"I don't know Madam Pomphery. I just woke up this morning feeling awful. My head started hurting last night right before I went to bed. I thought it would pass, but I guess that it didn't.", Draco explained when his voice cracked.
Noticing that Draco was getting tired talking, Daphne butt in. "I checked his temperature, he is running a fever, he was also throwing up earlier and he was complaining of his stomach hurting. I think that he was having cramps."
At this , Madam Pomphery took out her stethiscope and started examining Draco's stomach, and then started doing palpitation which is Madam Pomphery applying pressure to certain parts of his stomach while looking at Draco's face to sense any pain.
"Mr. Malfoy, did you take a wizard's flu shot in the winter?" Madam Pomphery asked suspiciously once she had finished her examination.
"No Madam Pomphery." Draco admitted.
"But, but you told me that you did! Why did you lie to me?" Daphne exclaimed accusingly.
Draco lowered his gaze.
"Well that explains it." Madam Pomphery said. "You , Mister Malfoy, have the wizard's flu. I would normally ask you to stay in the hospital wing until you feel better, but I see that you have some very responsible friends, so I think that your friends will do a very excellent job of taking care of you. I'll just give you some potions and you can be on your merry way," Madam Pomphery declared, motioning to Daphne to follow her to get the potions.
Draco visibly relaxed at her words.
A few minutes later Daphne returned carrying a bag containing potions and a slip of parchment in her hands.
They headed out of the hospital wing to the dormitory, stopping frequently so Draco could cough his lungs out or take a breather.
Finally the group got back to the dormitory.
"I'm just going to grab some stuff from our dorm and change into something comfy and I'll be back soon, ok?" Daphne stated, going the opposite way to the girls' staircase leading to the girls dormitory.
"Alright. C'mon Mr, I don't take shots because I'm too good for the flu. Let's get you in bed." Tracey joked, pulling Draco towards the dormitory.
