How are you? MadaraGex here with a new crossover fanfic, I hope you like it.
It's been a while, hasn't it?
I've decided to do a crossover between Legacy of Kain and Sonic the Hedgehog due to the upcoming Soul Reaver remaster and the Sonic movie. There aren't enough Legacy of Kain fanfics and it's a shame, since I'm a fan of this saga and I love Sonic the Hedgehog.
Well then, let's get to work!
Disclaimer: Legacy of Kain and its characters belong to Crystal Dynamics, while Sonic the Hedgehog and its characters belong to Sega and Sonic Team, only the plot of this fic is partly mine.
Episode 1 – New World
-unknown place-
Raziel POV:
Where am I? - I say, slowly regaining consciousness and getting up from the cold ground on which I was lying.
I looked around and saw that I was in the middle of an unknown forest. I don't know how I got here in the first place, I remember being in the Avernus Cathedral to confront Kain.
Confused about how I had gotten to this place, I set out to find my way out of the forest to find answers.
When I had been walking through the forest for some time to find the exit, I could hear the sound of voices and I approached stealthily to see who those voices were.
What I saw left me upset.
Before my eyes were strange creatures that resembled animals that had long ago disappeared from Nosgoth, but their appearance seemed straight out of the imagination of an infant.
All of them walked upright with their hind legs, or rather legs in every sense of the word. They seemed to have fully functional five-fingered hands like the ones I once had when I was young, before I went through the vampire evolution process, but several of them were hidden under gloves.
They all seemed small, the biggest one didn't even reach my chest height.
Two of them looked like the animal known as a skunk, but I hoped I was wrong because I didn't want to smell a putrid odor if my suspicions were true. One was larger and burlier than the other, in addition to possessing some type of albinism that caused his eyes to be red and an obvious lack of pigment in his fur, he also seemed to only have half a tail that appeared to be cut off. On the other hand, the other one next to him was smaller and thinner with white and dark blue fur.
In front of the skunks were what looked like brown-furred bears. They had enormous eyes that were anatomically impossible for the size of their heads. The larger one had thick brown fur that extended over the sides of his head, giving him a beard-like appearance, something the smaller one lacked, and because of their younger appearance and resemblance to the older one, I assumed they must be father and son.
They all seemed to be wearing some article of clothing, but curiously none of them were wearing pants.
In the arms of the smaller bear was an even stranger creature. It was red with tentacles, had three blue eyes, and what I assumed was its head was shaped like a flame.
Seeing the tentacles and eyes, I couldn't help but remember that false god.
"I know you Raziel, you are worthy."
I shook my head to push those thoughts away and focus on what was happening before me.
From the arrogant smile of the skunks, the serious face of the older bear and the scared one of the little one as he protectively hugged the red creature, I assumed that the skunks were bullying the bears. So they must be bullies or criminals. That disgusted me and I decided to put an end to such an injustice.
Then I came out from between the trees and approached the skunks from behind.
-3rd person pov-
"We've told you, give us the wisp and we'll leave you alone"- Rough said with an arrogant smile.
"Yeah, that's right, you don't want anything bad to happen to your son, do you?"- Tumble said threateningly.
"No dad, don't give Red Hot away, he's my friend!"- Ashe said desperately as he protected the wisp.
"Relax son, I know how important Red Hot is to you, I won't let anything happen to any of you"-Said Ashe's father, but the truth is that it was noticeable that he was not entirely convinced.
"Very well, if you insist on playing hero, we will teach you a lesson"-Said Rough confidently
"This will be fun"-Said Tumble while cracking his knuckles.
Ashe was hugged by his father protectively expecting the worst.
But suddenly a voice was heard behind the skunks.
"Stinking vermin, harming those who cannot defend themselves. Since you are so eager to fight, I hope I can give you a suitable challenge"-Said Raziel behind the skunks.
The aforementioned turned around and were surprised, while the bears were disturbed by what they saw.
Raziel's cadaverous appearance is not something they are used to seeing.
"W-who are you!"- Rough asked scared of the wraith.
"Brother, this son of a bitch is the ugliest guy I've ever seen, he looks like a corpse has been beaten and then a pool of acid has been thrown on him!"- Tumble said upset by Raziel's appearance.
Those words infuriated Raziel even more, how accurate they were touched a sensitive chord in him.
"It's clear that death is the only reward you'll get"- Raziel said with venom in his voice as he narrowed his eyes.
"A-ah yeah!? You think you scare us!? "Brother, let's take care of this clown!" Rough said, trying to sound brave.
"Yes, let's bury this freak!"- Tumble said ready to face the soul reaver.
"Well, let's get started" Raziel said before taking out his signature weapon, the Soul Reaver (Defiance's design), from his right arm.
" What!?"- Rough said surprised.
"Brother, the ugly guy has pulled out a kind of lightsaber from his arm, what are we doing!?" Tumble asked, equally surprised.
"It doesn't matter, there are two of us and he is only one, we can beat him, look how fragile he looks!"- Rough said.
The two skunks then attacked Raziel
"Big mistake"- Raziel said and then jumped before the attack hit him.
The ground cracked and a lot of dust rose up.
"Shit, we failed!"- Tumble said looking for Raziel.
"Never get distracted- Raziel said and then kicked him in the face that threw him to the ground.
"Tumble! Damn you, you're going to pay for hitting my brother!"- Rough said and then released a fetid gas all over the place.
"Ugh! "By all that is sacred, it is the most horrible smell I have ever smelled!" Raziel said and then covered his face to avoid the smell.
Enough time for Rough to go straight for his brother Tumble.
"Tumble! We have to finish this guy off once and for all!" Rough said as he helped his brother up.
"Ugh, what do you suggest?" Tumble asked his brother as he rubbed his head.
"How about a good cannonball?" Rough said with a confident smile.
"Sounds good to me" Tumble said also confidently.
While Raziel kept covering his face.
"God, what a disgusting smell, what does he intend to do with a tactic like this, run away?" Raziel asked as he removed his hand from his face to see where the skunk was.
"Not even close, you idiot! Come on Tumble!" Rough's voice said.
"I'm coming!" Tumble said as he grabbed his brother who had taken the form of a ball.
Suddenly the big skunk jumped into the air several meters and with all his strength threw his brother who shot out at full speed against the wraith like a real cannonball.
While Tumble jumped and prepared to throw his brother, Raziel was surprised that they came up with a good distraction tactic and then attacked him with everything. He would congratulate them but he had not gotten to this point only to be defeated by some amateurs.
While the skunk headed towards him, he used one of the abilities he had obtained throughout his journey, the telekinetic force projectile, which had become stronger along with his other telekinetic abilities thanks to the consumption of Turel's soul.
He quickly charged the transparent energy sphere and when the skunk was about to hit him he threw the projectile at him.
When the transparent sphere collided with Rough, he was sent flying towards his brother who was still in the air and ended up colliding with him and throwing them both to the ground.
They ended up making a small crater while Rough was comically on top of his brother.
"S-shit, what the hell was that!?"-Rough asked in pain.
"T-the move has backfired…"-Tumble said weakly.
"Looks like we're going to have to run away," Rough said as he stood up from his brother.
"I support the idea"-Tumble said also getting up.
"It's funny that you think I'm going to let you escape"-Raziel said as the Reaver changed with a wave from its blue material form to the yellow Light Reaver
"W-what are you going to do?"-Rough asked scared.
"This"-Raziel said and then raised the Reaver and caused an explosion of light so strong that it blinded everyone present.
"Ahhh! My eyes!"-Rough said as he covered his eyes.
Mine too!-Tumble said doing the same.
Even Ashe, his father, and Red Hot who had retreated to watch the fight from further away had to cover their eyes.
"Damn, I can't see where that bastard is, where has he gone!"- Rough said as he and his brother rubbed their eyes as they slowly regained their sight.
"Here"- A voice said from behind them
Rough turned around just in time to see the spectral sword pierce his brother's torso.
"Ahhhhhh!"- Tumble screamed in complete agony.
"Tumble! Brother! no!"- Rough screamed in desperation as he watched his brother being killed.
Tumble felt his soul being absorbed by the Reaver as the life faded from his eyes.
Raziel pulled the sword out of the skunk's lifeless body as he finished absorbing what little was left of his soul. The lifeless body fell to the ground with a thud and his eyes half closed.
Rough was terrified to see his brother die and did the first thing that came to his mind, run away.
But he didn't get very far because Raziel extended his arms and with his telekinesis lifted him into the air.
Slowly the wraith approached the skunk who was desperately trying to escape.
"I see that your bravado has ceased"-Raziel said.
"P-please forgive me, I won't do anything bad again I swear!"-Rough said crying for his life.
"Yes, you won't, because this is where you end"-Raziel said as he charged the Reaver energy.
"No, no please, I won't do evil again! I'll do whatever you want!"-Rough shouted contemplating the Angel of Death in front of him.
"VAE VICTIS"- Raziel said simply with his eyes half closed.
The wraith buried the Reaver into the skunk hard.
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!"-Rough shouted as the Reaver was buried in him and suddenly he exploded into many pieces.
Blood, organs, and various pieces of flesh flew out and splattered the surroundings, curiously none of them fell on Raziel.
In the middle of everything was the Soul of Rough that Raziel had avoided absorbing with the Reaper and when he saw it he removed the cloth that covered his face revealing his missing lower jaw. The soul flew straight to his mouth and was absorbed by it with an inhalation noise.
Raziel put the cloth back on his face, but not before smelling himself.
"Magnificent, now I will have to get rid of this body and find another one that is not so pestilent" – Raziel said sarcastically, as if it were something normal.
Then he looked at the bears.
It was obvious that they were terrified by what he had done. It wasn't every day you saw a vampire wraith brutally and mercilessly kill another person. The child would probably be traumatized.
Raziel put away the Reaver and began to approach the two bears who slowly backed away. They wanted to escape but they knew it would be useless. Ashe's father only hoped that he would take pity on his son.
Suddenly the wraith spoke.
"Excuse me, good sir, could you tell me where I am and in which direction the nearest town is, I have to go immediately"-Raziel said in a polite tone, not wanting to scare them even more.
Ashe's father was surprised that he was so polite to them after having killed the skunks. As he looked closer at the wraith, he couldn't help but think he was a walking corpse, but he steeled himself and responded.
"S-sure, in that direction is the exit of the forest, when you get there you will find the road and if you take it to the right, you will go in the direction of Central City, but it is quite far on foot"-Ashe's father answered nervously. It was clear that he wanted to leave here with his son and call the Restoration as soon as possible.
"Thank you, good sir, I'm leaving now, have a nice day you and your son"- Raziel said and then started walking in the direction the bear indicated.
But before he left, the red wisp stood in front of him.
"What are you, little creature?"- Raziel asked examining the wisp.
"He is a wisp, sir, and his name is Red Hot"- Ashe answered the specter as he approached him.
"Ashe, come here"- His father said as he grabbed him.
"A wisp? I've never heard of such creatures"- Raziel said curiously.
"Yes, they do many things like giving special powers to people and weapons, Red Hot here has fire powers" - Ashe answered with less fear than Raziel.
"Such a small creature has such powers? Incredible. In any case I'm leaving now, you two should go home immediately" - Raziel said and then started to leave.
Wait sir! How did you become so strong and cool!? - He asked fascinated by the vampire wraith.
"I became strong by doing acts that I'm not proud of, until I have nothing left. Believe me little one, power is useless if you lose everything" - Raziel said and then made a movement with his arms and entered the spectral realm.
"Cool" - Ashe said with stars in his eyes as he saw Raziel disappear.
His father touched him on the shoulder and this looked at him.
"What's wrong dad?" - Ashe asked.
"Let's go home so I can call the authorities and the Restoration to tell them what happened and take the corpses of those two (what's left of them at least) - Ashe's father said, thinking about the last thing.
He should quickly go get repellent to spray the place and keep wild animals away and prevent them from eating their corpses. They may be undesirable scum, but even they don't deserve to rot here abandoned.
-Raziel pov:
Once I entered the spectral realm and got rid of my physical body, I sighed in relief to get rid of the horrible smell.
Everything around me was blue, twisted and distorted as it happened in Nosgoth, nothing out of the ordinary.
I was about to go in the direction the bear indicated when suddenly I heard some noises and looked behind me.
Big was my surprise when I found 3 Sluagh hissing and growling.
"Well, who would have thought I'd meet scavengers like you even in this place? In any case, at least you'll be some entertainment while I head straight to that Central City"- Raziel said as he summoned the Reaver and launched himself into the attack of the Sluagh.
And cut!
