Hello everyone! I apologize for the long wait on updating my fanfics. I will try to get back into a routine on them again. This one is my favorite out of the three. It's time for a new element!
Chapter 28: Flood Zone Trouble
-The Transparent World-
Izuku stood in front of the man and noticed that he held a katana in his hand. The blade is dark with a noticable light blue edge. The handle is white with a blue under wrap and a silver guard with a four leaf clover shape. Izuku then remembered what the man said about water breathing and it reminded him of the other breathing styles. He mastered the first four forms of flame breathing and the first form of thunder breathing.
Something isn't adding up to the young hero in training. He could first manipulate fire, then electricity, and now it's water. To his surprise the man vanished before his eyes like a reflection leaving a body of water. The movements of the older man is noticeably different from Rengoku, Jigoro, and Iroh. The man in the blue robe moves so fluidly with every motion, not exhausting anything. Izuku subconciously draws his blade to counter the man's attacks.
"Water breathing, third form: flowing dance."
Is what Izuku hears while he blocks and parries each of the man's strikes. He knows that the older man is taking it easy on him and could easily cut him down if he wanted to. Izuku jumps back to gain some distance but to his surprise the older man is already on him again after he lands on his feet. To Izuku, the way the man moves is like watching water flow perfectly in motion. He is back on defense trying to find an opening to counter attack.
"I've been told that you picked up flame breathing rather well. Show me what you can do."
He says while pulling his sword back and letting Izuku take in a breath. Taking the opportunity Izuku raises his blade and focuses on his breathing. Urokodaki watches with interest as Izuku swings the blade down at him.
"Flame breathing, third form: blazing universe!"
Izuku strikes, but makes sure to hold back as to not hurt the older man. To his shock and amazement his attack is blocked with Urokodaki using the tip of his blade to hold back his own. The grace of the man's stance and sword work is on a completely different level than his own.
"Water breathing, seventh form: piercing rain drop"
Before Izuku can say anything, the man steps back and sheathes his blade. The void around them starts to fill with sounds of water and sloshing noises. Izuku then remembers that he fell into water before waking up in the transparent world. He starts to worry that he'll drown if he doesn't get help soon.
"We shall meet again Izuku. Until then, listen and follow the flow of water."
-The U.S.J Flood Zone-
Izuku's eyes snap open and all of his senses are going off. He notices that before he wakes up in the lake that the water seemed to be bending around him. His air bubble is flooded and he starts to panic while thrashing around the water. Then he notices something that first happened in the transparent world. He can clearly see under water as if he were still on the surface, but what he saw made him panic more. In the water with him are villains that have quirks that allow them to use the water to their advantage.
Getting over his panic, Izuku rights himself in the water so that he's swimming towards the surface. He sees a shark man quickly swimming at him which causes him to let out the breath he was holding. Suddenly he feels something wrap around his waist and yank him out of th water. As he is lifted out of the water the shark jumps at him with it's mouth wide open, exposing it's hundreds of pointy teeth. Out of instinct Izuku raises his hands wanting to create a wall of fire but instead he raises a wall of water that crashes into the shark man.
"That's new."
He hears the deadpan voice of Tsuyu say as he notices that it's her tongue that pulled him out of the water. She is sticking to the side of the ship and lifts him up more to place him on the ship's floor. He sees that the short purple boy is also on the ship but he's on his back and looks to be in pain. Tsuyu climbs onto the ship's floor and gives a small glare to the short boy before looking back at Izuku. They both look at the water below and see about a dozen villains swimming in the water and getting closer to the ship.
"How did you do that Midoriya-chan? I thought your quirk was just fire and electricity. Even that is an odd combo."
Izuku looks back at the frog girl with a puzzled expression. He has always wondered the same thing about his quirk. Now isn't the time to ponder that though, because their lives are in danger. He checks his sword for any damages and sighs in relief when he doesn't see any. He opens his hand and inhales deeply igniting a flame above his palm.
"We can't focus on that now. Those villains will either start climbing the ship or most likely try to sink it. We need to come up with a plan to get back to the others."
Mineta slowy gets up off the floor and joins the pair with a wince. Izuku wonders what happened to him but shakes the thought away. When the short boy look at the water he instantly starts to panic. Izuku and Tsuyu both look at the boy with a "really" expression on their faces. He looks back at them with fear and annoyance.
"Why are you two looking at me like that???"
Mineta askes with tears rushing down his face and waving his arms around. Izuku looks back at the water and sees the villains gathering together. He wonders if he can shock the water enough to render them not able to move without killing them. To his surprise Tsuyu taps his shoulder and smacks Mineta to get their attention. She kneels down and they do the same to listen to what she says.
"I think we should go over what our quirks can do so that we know how to work together."
She says in a low voice so that the villains below can't hear. Izuku nods at what she says while mineta gulps loudly and continues to shake in fear.
"I'll go first. Obvioulsy, I'm a frog so I can jump high and stick to different surfaces. My tongue can shoot out about twenty meters long. Also I can produce a toxic mucus from my skin that mostly just stings others, but if enough is on them it can paralyze them."
Izuku so badly wished that he had his notebook with him so that he could write down the information. He and Mineta nod at the explanation though the shorter boy has a weird look on his face after she mentioned the toxic mucus. Izuku gets their attention my putting up his hand and making a small fire above his palm.
"My quirk is originally called Flame, but it's been changing since I was four. I'm able to create fire by controlling my breathing and use martial arts to better control it. I'm also able to generate electricity and control the current fairly well. I think I some how gained water when the villain seperated us."
Both Tsuyu and Mineta looked at Izuku like he has two heads, though Tsuyu hid it better. Mineta points at the greenette and nearly shouts at him about how broken his quirk is. Tsuyu wacks him on the head again to silencs him making Izuku wince at the sound. He comlies by taking one of the purple balls from his head and sticking it to the side of the ship.
"Ow! My quirk is called Pop Off. I can remove the balls from my head and they will stick to anything. They grow back as fast as I pull them off and the level of stickiness kind of depends on how I'm feeling that day. Also they don't stick to me, I just bounce off."
Izuku and Tsuyu give a look to mineta and then look at each other. Mineta gets impatient at the silence and waves his arms around again while shouting.
"What's with those looks?! Say something!"
Izuku puts his hand to his chin and thinks of a way for them to escape the ship. After a few seconds the sound of his muttering is assulting the ears of his classmates. Mineta's eyes swirl in the anime fashion as he tries to keep up with what he is saying. Tsuyu debates on wacking him to get the muttering to stop. Izuku suddenly stands up with a determined look on his face.
"Ok this is what we're going to do..."
-A few minutes later-
Izuku is standing at the edge of the ship and getting the attention of the villains in the water. One of the villains with a shark mutation raises his hand and the water behind him raises into the shape of a giant fist. Izuku shouts at Tsuyu to start the plan as she holds mineta in her tongue. She leaps off of the ship while he throws punches that launch small fire balls at the villains. The fire hits the water creating steam that makes it difficult for the villains to see through.
"Okay, you two are up now!"
Izuku shouts while being lifted up by Tsuyu's tongue while she jumps towards the shore. Mineta lets out a battle cry as he rapidly rips the balls from his head and throws them towards the grouped up villains in the water. Some of them accidentally swim into the purple balls and get their limbs stuck together when trying to pull them off while others see what's happening and avoid them to the teams dismay. Izuku gets an idea and reaches out with his right arm and makes a fist while twisting it as far as he can. Nothing happens at fist, but once he tries again the water starts to spin around sucking all the villains towards the center.
The three land in the water a bit away from the shore and immedietly check for danger. Thankfully, the whirlpool that Izuku made gathered the villians and purple balls together to trap them. Tsuyu shows a small smile of victory while Mineta raises his arms and shouts in joy. Izuku looks at the shorter one and raises his finger to his mouth.
"Shhh, we don't know were all the villains are. We can't give away our position so easily."
Mineta quickly covers his mouth and nods at what Izuku said. Tsuyu places her index finger on her chin in thought. They all take a moment to catch their breath and swim to the shore. Izuku is surprised to feel that he is slightly winded even though he didn't do much. Once they got to the shore they stayed in the water to scope the area out.
"That was a good plan Midoriya-chan. That thing you did with the water also managed to trap all those villains. Good work out there too, Mineta."
The boys both nodded at her in appreciation while smiling. Izuku is the first one out of the water and looks around the area. After seeing no signs of any villains he gives the signal for the other two to join him. In the distance he can see Aizawa going against many of the villains that came through the purple and black mist. The man is doing fairly well against the others, but Izuku can tell that he's getting tired.
"We need to find the others, but I think Aizawa is going to need help soon. He's up against way too many villains with different quirks."
Izuku says while trying to think of what to do in the situation. Then He notices a man with hands all over his body walk out of a warp gate and watch Aizawa fight. The boy can't say why but his gut tells him that this particular villain is worse than the others. To make matters worse, the villains that Aizawa knocked out earlier are starting to wake up again to rejoin the fight. Izuku looks back to Tsuyu and Mineta to see if they have any ideas.
Aizawa cancels the quirk of a woman who has blades in her hair and kicks her in the face. He ducks under a man who has four arms and kicks him in the knee then knees him in the face. After side stepping an attack he uses his scarf to tie up a man with sharp teeth and swings him around to gain distance. He releases the man and sends him flying into a group, dropping them all. He dodges a full hand swipe at his face and sends his elbow at the enemy only to be surprised as it's caught.
"You were always one of my favorites, Erasure Head."
Izuku, Tsuyu, and Mineta watch in horror as Aizawa falls to his knees grunting in pain. At first the three of them are confused at what's happening but shortly after they see the blood falling from where the man is holding Aizawa's elbow. Izuku can see the clothe and flesh cracking away as it slowly travels up his elbow. Not able to stand back and watch anymore, Izuku gets into the stance that Iroh showed him. He goes through the motions of moving his arms in circular motions and points his index and middle finger towards the hand man's chest. The blast of lightning catches everyone off guard and launches the villain back as Aizawa slumps to the ground holding his injury.
The three studens run towards their teacher as the villains keep their distance, not wanting to get blasted. Izuku helps their teacher up and hands him off to Tsuyu and Mineta. He places his hand on the handle of his blade and wonders if he should draw it. He can see the villains wanting to get their lick back but he won't let that happen. All of a sudden the three of them are sent flying back by kicks to the stomach.
"That was cheating you know. Surprise attacks like that are so unhero like."
The man with hands all over his body says while standing in front of Aizawa. Izuku lands on the ground hard and has the wind knocked out of him. Mineta's small form has him land farther back than him. Tsuyu lands back into the water of the flood zone but is poking her head out right after she lands. Izuku tries to catch his breath as he think about what just happened.
'How did he recover and knock us back so fast? His quirk seems to be damaging objects but he's also fast and strong.'
The man looks at Izuku and the eyes behind the hand on his face makes the boy's blood run cold. Those eyes have slits similar to a cat and are blood red with green in the middle. Izuku's hand subconsciously clutches his sword handle with an iron grip. After the man stares him down for a moment they both hear Tsuyu swimming back to shore. Even though his face is hidden, Izuku can feel the sinister smirk he has.
"Hm, I believe that I should make you suffer before I kill you. I'll make you watch as I destroy your comerade."
After he says that he looks at Tsuyu with the same manic expression he gave Izuku. The affect seems to be different on the frog girl as she is frozen in fear. Izuku tries to get up and run at the man but the air in his lungs hasn't returned yet. He falls back to his knees as he watches the man stand right in front of Tsuyu and reach his hand out.
And that is the end of the chapter! I hope that you all enjoyed it and I apologize for the long wait on the update. I also want to say that I took down my spiderman fanfiction because I want to start over on it. Theast chapter for that was was too rushed.
