My Dear Bay

[March 25th, Winters residence.]

Leo yawns lightly, the cool air of the night passing over his body.

The boy lies on the roof of his house, arms behind his head, looking at the moon and the starless

sky of the big, polluted city.

It's been a few days since the boy has been just... Well, living.

Of course, he still did his "chores" as a hero and student.

But lately, his main focus has been hanging out with his friends and doing silly things.

Like seeing a movie with Livy, going to the mall with the Wards boys, playing basketball with

Assault... These are just things he actually wants to do.

And it was honestly liberating, it's like nothing in the world could bother him more.

And technically, that's true, nothing in this world can realistically stop him. Right now he's living to

wait for the endbringers to come and challenge him.

And nothing more.

'I... I'm stagnating, heh. I didn't think this day would come so soon, but I feel good about it. I

literally gained a power a few days ago with an achievement and I didn't even feel anything.'

The boy glances into the air watching the lottery showing off his new power at his command,

Soulbond

You have the ability to bind a single item to your soul, turning it into what is effectively an

extension of yourself. This selection is not permanent, as you are able to retract the bond from

your item at any time. The item bound to you can be stored them within a your soul and recalled

at will. Your bound item benefits from any perks you have and a fraction of your passive powers

(I.E. attribute enhancements, regeneration, etc.), and you can sense its location from anywhere

else that isn't protected from you somehow. Your bound item is indestructible unless you will it

otherwise. For consumable and perishable items such as food, drink or medicine, they will

restore or refill themselves over time, with more valuable/potent items taking longer, and are

immune to spoilage or degradation. In addition to ordinary items, you may also bind

supernatural ones, such as weapons infused with magical, psionic, or divine power. Such items

not only share the same benefits as normal ones but also benefit from a fraction of any self-

power-augmenting powers you have, as well as any others sharing the same source as them

(I.E. magic powers for magic-infused items), further magnifying their own abilities. You may not

bind living creatures to you.

'A very useful power and all... But the moment I got it I couldn't care less about it... Fuck, I needed

a hug, is Livy free tonight?'

Leo frowns, not knowing exactly what he is feeling at the moment.

Even though he was in harmony with himself, he didn't understand the new feeling of slight

dullness.

And then, his senses feel someone climbing the ladder at the edge of the house, climbing up to

the roof.

The boy sits up and sees a person appearing.

Samantha.

In her hand is a mug, which appears to have a hot liquid in it.

"Hey Sam," The boy says, smiling.

The woman smiles back at him but shivers slightly from the cold.

She walks over to him carefully, handing him the mug, crouching down, and sitting beside him.

"Hey Leo, I made hot chocolate for us, and when I went to give you a little you weren't in your

room." She says, and her face becomes a little worried. "Are you okay? Today- no, for the last

week you've been quiet."

Leo's red eyes glanced from the mug with the drink to the woman's face,

He contemplates how to express his feelings effectively. But how can he do that? Ultimately, he

knows he can only summarize it in one or two sentences.

"I'm fine, I'm just... done I guess." The boy says, and even without knowing why, he smiles.

The woman looks at him inquisitively,

"Done? With what?"

"With Everything. I think from today on, I can do whatever I want, and move forward."

He says and looks back up at the sky, the abyss above staring back at him.

Samantha blinks confused and then chuckles, shaking her head.

"Well, I'm glad you feel that way. Most people will never even get to that feeling." She says and

pats the boy's head, earning a grin from him. "Since you can do whatever you want, how about

asking Livy to finally be your girlfriend? I'm tired of you guys stalling." The woman says, like a

boring aunt.

She's been making the same joke for a few weeks now.

However, the boy thinks about it.

Leo then drinks his hot chocolate, still steaming, all at once and gets up.

With smoke now coming out of his mouth, he grins at Sam.

And promptly turns to jump off the roof.

"Good idea, I'll do that right now"

Samantha's eyes widen and as the boy prepares to go off, she shouts one last thing,

"WAIT! AT LEAST BUY HER FLOWERS LEO!"

[Livy's House, a few minutes later.]

Lying on her bed is our favorite Goth, dressed in her silly Alexandria-themed pajamas.

The girl is currently fiddling with her cell phone, a small smile on her face.

She is currently organizing the photo album in her gallery, making a small folder with the photos

of her and Leo.

The various photos, of various moments of the two of them in recent times,

"Urgh, you guys should just get together already, you know?"

Her mother's voice gives her a big scare, and the girl's cell phone flies to the other side of the

bed.

The girl turns with a glare at the older woman, the classic deadpan of her mother just rolling her

eyes, then walking away.

"Dinner is ready, brat, make sure to eat something"

Her mother disappears into the corridor, without a doubt going to the first floor of the house to

the kitchen.

Livy just pouts, letting out a sigh and laying back on the bed.

Staring at the ceiling, she starts to think,

'I know she's right... b-but, it's not that simple. We're not just any teenagers, our focus should be

elsewhere, especially Leo.'

Her face rests in a big frown, thinking about everything.

'He's probably one of the top 5 most important people in the entire world, he's more important

than me or Brockton Bay in general. I can't demand something like that from him.'

The girl remains lying on the bed for a few minutes, thinking.

Until…

Knock Knock

She blinks in confusion sits up in bed, and looks towards her window.

Looking up she sees two characteristic red eyes and a silly face that she has loved for a while

now.

A chuckle escapes her,

"It's open Leo!"

The boy smiles and the window opens,

The boy skillfully enters and falls with his back to the girl, she gets up and notices that the boy is

carrying two things,

He turns around with a wide smile,

And the girl got her eyes wide,

He has a tub of vanilla ice cream in one hand and a tub of chocolate ice cream in the other.

Her and His Favorite Ice Creams

"Well, here you go." He hands her a large tub of vanilla ice cream, and the girl looks surprised.

'Wow, that's a lot of ice cream,'

Livy thinks, noticing how big the tub is. Looking at the object in the

boy's hand, it seems smaller.

'I mean, Lion-boy has really big hands...'

"Do you want to be my girlfriend?"

…….

"Huh?"

She stops her whirlwind of thoughts and looks at him. He smiles as his words sink in.

Livy stares at him, completely speechless, drawing a chuckle from the boy.

…Is this some kind of cosmic joke?

"Y-yes?"

The boy's smile widens, and a flush of genuine joy spreads across his face.

"AWESOME! Now come on, let's tell your mom. I told her I would ask for her permission first." He

then picks Livy up with one arm, using the same ease he uses to carry one of the ice cream tubs,

and they head toward her mother.

It took Livy a moment to realize what had just happened.

But now she has a boyfriend.
