Now, there are a few rules if your born in the Hidden Leaf village as one of the extras. Firstly, you must check when the last time the giant nine tailed fox was spotted close by, as that could tell you many, many things about the timeline. Second, on discovering that you were a gamer, check your options... as you too may be lucky enough to select D&D 3.5 content in a largely d20 modern (Naruto expansion) world, which is a cheat and a half in its own right. Third, make sure that gestalt is enabled for maximum cheese. And fourth, make sure to work on your grind while avoiding ROOT by appearing to be like Rock Lee, aka, having deformed chakra coils.

All of which led me to several conclusions. Firstly, it was a year before Naruto was born. Secondly that there was an untapped market for... certain kinds of services. At least, there would be, when I was able to study a bit and grind to the required level. In addition, I checked a few things of my desired prestige class, and there were some interesting applications as I checked things over. But still, time to study, train and get good.

And probably go to the ninja academy. Kids tended to be funneled into there, particularly if they manifested some odd gifts. Like I would be doing. Eh, if anything, I'd just play it off as the side effects of a weird as balls bloodline. And if nothing else? I just needed to save up enough to get to the capital and peddle my services there. Or see about striking a deal with the powers that be in the village. All said and done... I had some options, even if I favored a few over others. And probably needed to look into the feasibility of calling up things to maul Danzo and Orochimaru.

Hiruzen Sarutobi

Matto was a strange child and one that had been tested for signs of being an infiltrator, despite being far too young. An orphan, as was sadly common state of affairs, But, he drew attention mainly in that he was one of the few that little Naruto got along with, that was willing to accept his successors child. To be sure, said child was a grim, serious and reserved youth that seemed to lack most forms of chakra expression in a similar case to one Rock Lee... but in Matto's case, it seemed to be that he used a strange form of chakra that was not compatible with standard techniques.

Something that truth be told was perhaps behind much of his interest in the boy... aside from the fact that the boy was remarkably hard to lock onto with his crystal ball and so could not be studied at a remove, but instead required closer observation. But, that was not the reason why he was looking around the apartment that the young man supposedly lived in. The empty apartment, barely touched even as the Hokage looked around, pondering the mystery he represented.

The truth, as it so happened, was that he wanted to have a little talk with the boy, to weigh if it would be worth it to see if there would be a Jonin interested in adding him to a team for his non-standard techniques or if young Matto would be better suited away from the field. Many of his techniques seemed to be strong Yin aligned, tapping into spiritual aspects that were familiar, in some respects, to some of his own sensei's works. As it stood, many of his techniques seemed to be highly ritualized and required an element of sacrifice.

Of money most often, which was ironically one of the tamer forms of sacrifice for Yin based invocations he was aware of. A part of him was amused when the door appeared that Matto seemed to be surprised by his presence. "Ah, an interesting trick, how did you learn it?"

And honestly? He was both curious... and as he looked over the young man? Perhaps another option, to see if he needed to be examined for security risks? As it was, he seemed thoughtful, before he spoke. "It was a gift from Hell when I passed my bar examinations and got my law degree."

The statement of that made him blink, looking over the youth with new eyes, even as a decision was reached.

Naruto Uzumaki

He was going to see the old man, when he noticed Matto sitting at a desk in the office outside gramps door. Sure, the guy was boring and took things too seriously, but... a part of Naruto wanted to know how he managed to coat the desk in those wicked black flames that seemed to move and shuffle papers like extra pairs of hands. Which honestly was cool, even as he opened his mouth. "What are you doing here Matto and whats with the cool jutsu?"

Because he was pretty sure that the secretary was female, even as his... friend? Looked at him. "Naruto. You remember how I said I practiced dark and forbidden arts?"

Which served to make them more awesome, whatever they were, even as he nodded, intending to ask about the fire. "Among those arts is black art of bureaucracy. And due to my paying the certification's required by Hell, I can summon the Black Flames of Paperwork Processing." He paused. "As it is, I am required to act as Hokage-sama's secretary while tutoring him on what is required for passing the Infernal Bar Exam so he may also summon these flames."

All of that said in a tired voice, as he stamped, signed and filed. "As it is, you cannot learn it, without studying a book that is as large as you are." Naruto's blood ran cold at the thought of something like that, there were no boring books that big, right? "Then I cannot, as you will likely ask, teach you how to summon the flames."

Even as he spoke, the door opened, seemingly by itself, and he could see his Gramps looking through a massive book, a tendril of flame directing a few papers to the desk to be processed, even as jiji looked up, a tired smile on his face. "Ah, Naruto-kun! Please, come in."
