And now onward to the chapter!

A week passed, and Yami and Jaden moved into Raphael's apartment for safety measures. They are still looking into Yami's family, but so far, there haven't been any missing children since a year ago.

Which was Jaden's case.

And the young brunette was right of not having any other family members living. As for distant relatives, they had cut all ties with Jaden's parents for quite some time.

"Homeschooling?" Yami said.

Raphael nodded, "It would give Jaden something to do while you go to your physical therapy. The rate you're progressing, it wouldn't be long for you to walk again, without any help."

"What do you say, Jay?" Yami asked.

"Mm, I was attending elementary school before," said Jaden. "I guess I don't mind getting lessons once again."

"Alright, and Yami will be getting some as well," said Raphael.

Yami widened his eyes, "But, I never attended any schooling."

Raphael smiled, "Don't worry, Dr. John's sister is an excellent teacher. She'll test you what you do know and will take it from there."

'Mm, I did always wonder what was like to have a teacher like her,' thought Yami before nodding. "Alright, so when do we start?"

"Let me contact the school and ask if she has any opening," replied Raphael. "It's better to learn, then have your eyes glued on the television all day."

While Jaden pouted, Yami was smirking a bit.

"So long free time," murmured Jaden. That's when the brunette remembered something, "Raphael, were you a duelist?"

Raphael laughed, "I take it that you noticed my trophy that I won in America."

Jaden nodded, "I just barely got into it. But I lost my cards when I was taken."

"Duelist?" Yami said.

"I guess with no memory, you don't know about it," said Raphael before he started explaining to Yami about duel monsters.

Meanwhile, at the Kaiba mansion, Yugi and his friends were going over all of Yugi's dreams.

"Man, these dreams are tricky to crack," said Joey.

"Tell me about it. There's not much to go by," said Tristan.

"The only thing we know is how Yugi's brother might look like now," stated Tea.

Joey mess around his hair, "We're getting nowhere at this rate!"

Tea sighed, "Why don't you calm down unless you want to pop a blood vessel? Come on, it's getting late. See you at school, Yugi."

"Yea, see you guys tomorrow," said Yugi.

After escorting his friends to the entrance, Yugi went to the living room where he noticed Mokuba was watching television.

"Anything good?" Yugi asked, sitting next to his younger cousin.

"Not really. Just that there's going to be a small duel tournament in Sapporo, that's all," replied Mokuba. "Found anything in your dreams?"

Yugi shook his head, "Nothing. Only how he might look like now."

"I see," murmured Mokuba. "Oh, are your friends coming over Friday again?"

Yugi nodded, "Why?"

Mokuba smiled, "Take a break and watch the duel tournament with me."

"Mm, you do have a point and it's been a while since I get to see a good duel," said Yugi. "Well, minus when Seto was a duelist."

Mokuba smirked, "Yea, big brother was good. You only play just for fun, right?"

"Yea, I don't really care about the fame and title it comes with," said Yugi.

"Yes, I can't wait until Friday," said Mokuba. "Oh, better warn the cooks."

Yugi smiled sheepishly as he watched his young cousin leave the living room.

-Sapporo, Thursday evening-

"A tournament?" Yami said.

"Yea, some of my men are being assigned to watch over the tournament. These home raids are getting more recent nowadays," said Raphael.

Yami looked down with guilt in his eyes.

"Hey now, if it's not for your tips, we wouldn't have arrested some of Hirutani's men," said Raphael. "So, want to go? The place will be guarded."

Jaden's eyes brighten, "That will be better than watching it on TV! Let's go! Let's go! Let's go!"

Yami smiled a bit before frowning, "And we will be, okay?"

Raphael nodded, "Hirutani's gang don't attack in the daylight with so many people watching. And my sister will be in town, so while I patrol, the three of you can watch the tournament."

"…alright, its better being suck here," said Yami as the young brunette was excited.

-Sapporo, Friday afternoon-

A young woman with long blonde hair and dark blue-greenish eyes was pushing a wheelchair that Yami was sitting on while Jaden was jumping from excitement.

"My, even though it's a small tournament, the place is quite packed. Come on, let's find a place to sit down."

She spotted a table close to watch the duels.

"Let me get some food, what do you like?"

"Fried shrimp, if they have some, Sonia," replied Jaden.

"Anything is fine for me," said Yami.

"Alright, be back," said Sonia before leaving the two alone.

Yami looked around and indeed the place was packed, and the teen could see several officers roaming around. A few were near them incase Hirutani's men showed up.

It didn't take long for Sonia to come with the food as the first duel started.

"Look at those duel disk!" Jaden said, eyes brighten.

"If I'm correct, those were made by KaibaCorp just a few months ago," said Sonia.

'KaibaCorp… why does that sound… familiar,' thought Yami.

-Kaiba Mansion-

"Come on, it's starting!" Joey said as he turned on the television.

Yugi and the others came to the living room as the first duel started.

"So, this tournament is for beginner duelists, right?" Yugi said.

Mokuba nodded, "My brother is planning a major tournament in the near future, but this small one will do for now."

"Hey, is that the new duel disk that KaibaCorp made?" Tea asked.

"Yup, and Seto is managing the tournament with Pegasus," said Mokuba before pouting. "I wish I could've gone…"

"Maybe next time you can," assured Yugi.

-Sapporo-

"Not bad. What do you think, you two?" Sonia asked.

"I'm just learning about duel monsters, but it's not bad," said Yami.

"It was awesome!" Jaden said. "Is this going to be the last duel?"

Sonia nodded, "Whoever wins, will be champion until the next tournament."

"Was your brother good?" Jaden asked.

Sonia laughed, "Very. He used a Guardian deck. Our father gave them to my brother when he was ten."

"I wish I could've seen him duel," pouted Jaden.

"Mm, I think he still has some old videos of his dueling days, but I need to look around that apartment of his," said Sonia. "That guy misplaces things all the time."

Yami laughed, recalling when Raphael was about to leave for work, he couldn't find his keys.

Just as the final duel ended, the announcer walked up in front of the crowd.

"Well, let's give an applause to all who participated in the tournament. But let's end this with one last duel! Now whoever in the crowd wants to face our newly champion, please step forward."

The crowd started to look at each other.

"Aw! I wish I could duel, but I don't have a deck," whined Jaden.

Yami laughed, "Maybe next time, Jay."

Sonia smiled a bit before taking out a deck from her pocket. "Why don' you try, Yami? You can use my deck. It's a Spellcaster deck."

"Sonia, I'm just learning about duel monster," argued Yami.

Sonia laughed, "Remember, this tournament was for beginner duelists. Besides, it's all good fun. Win or lose."

Yami stared at the deck, "If so, how can I duel in a wheelchair?"

"I heard from my brother that your legs have regained some of their strength, no? And you wouldn't be walking, just standing, that's all," said Sonia.

Yami looked at Sonia before glancing over to Jaden who was grinning like crazy. The teen sighed, "Alright, help me out from this wheelchair then."

Jaden's eyes shine with excitement as Sonia helped Yami out of the wheelchair.

"Aw come now, is there anyone that is brave enough to face our champion?"

"I'll take him on," said Yami, holding Sonia's deck.

"Oh! Ladies and gentlemen, we have our challenger! Duelists take your positions!"

Yami was given a duel disk from the announcer and took his spot opposite to his opponent. The champion, Ronald looked slightly smug after winning the tournament.

"After winning this tournament, this is going to be a piece of cake. Why don't you just quit while you still can? It will save you from total embarrassment."

Yami frowned, "Just because you won, that doesn't mean you're all that great. After all, this tournament was meant for beginner duelists."

"Whatever let's duel! I'll show you how strong I truly am!" Ronald said.

'Keep telling yourself that,' thought Yami, activating the duel disk.

-Kaiba Mansion-

"Man, I thought Harrison was going to win," whined Joey.

"Me too, but that Ronald guy had a lot of strong monsters," said Tristan.

"And that's the problem. He only had strong monsters, no magic cards of any sort and very few trap cards," said Yugi.

"Just like how Joey started," teased Tea.

"Hey! I learned from my mistakes," snapped Joey.

"Yea, after Kaiba creamed you, big time," said Tristan.

"Why you – I'll show you who's creamed!" Joey said, giving his best friend a headlock.

"Hey, looks like someone from the crowd is going to duel Ronald," said Mokuba.

"I hope that person can beat those strong monsters," said Yugi.

They watched the screen as the picture zoomed onto the challenger. That's when Yugi and his friends widened their eyes.

There on the screen was an older version of Yugi's brother.

"It can't be," said Tea.

"But it is," said Joey.

"No doubt about it," said Tristan.

Mokuba was confused, "What's going on?"

"…Atem… my brother," whispered Yugi.

-Sapporo-

"I'll be going," said Seto as he was heading out. Since it was a tournament for beginner duelists, it didn't interest Seto that much.

"Ah, but before you do, looks like Ronny got a challenger from the crowd. Don't you want to see the duel?" Pegasus said.

"And why would I waste my time watching two novices duel?" Seto asked.

"My, my it's not a waste if the challenger wins, no?" Pegasus said. "Who knows? It might be an interesting duel to watch."

Seto sighed, "Fine, but I'm leaving once the duel is over."

"Wonderful, let's go," said Pegasus.

Seto rolled his eyes but followed the creator of duel monster to the balcony to oversee the duel.

"Ah, looks like the duel started… mm, say, Kaiba-boy, doesn't that boy look like your cousin?" Pegasus pointed out.

"Of course, not – wait, what?!" Seto said, eyes widened. "It can't be."

There facing Ronald was a teen that looked like Yugi, but his eyes were much sharper than his small cousin.

-Break Line-
