Hey, guys, how have you been?

Now, this chapter is based on what I had experienced in a coma and when I was fully awake. I was going in and out of consciousness. Well, enjoy the chapter.

-Yami's mind-

Yami continued watching all his missing memories until the last one showed up.

It was the day he went missing.

Yami was standing in the middle of a park but noticed the sky was dark, and thunder was roaring. He frowned a bit before walking around and spotted his younger self and his little brother running.

"Come on Yug. Just a little further."

"I don't… know… if I can… run much… longer," panted little Yugi.

As young Atem stopped to allow his brother to catch his breath, lightning came down and struck a tree. The clash caused the tree to break and fall right towards them.

Young Atem gasped before turning around, "Move Yugi!"

Yami watched to see his younger self pushed his little brother away from the falling tree. The moment the tree fell onto the ground, young Atem stepped back to the point where he lost his footing and fell from a small cliffside.

Yami ran over to the cliff before gasping to who he saw.

Standing next to an unconscious Atem was a slightly younger Hirutani and Chiyo. While Hirutani was frowning a bit, Chiyo was smirking like a mad man.

"Well, well, look what do we have here, Hirutani. A lost child?" Chiyo said.

"Just let him be," murmured Hirutani.

But just as they were about to leave, Atem's father came down from the cliffside.

"Atem! Hang on!"

"Wait, is that… well, this is interesting," Hirutani smirked.

"Hey, who are you two?"

"…Chiyo, do it."

Chiyo smirked, "With pleasure."

Yami widened his eyes in horror to watch Chiyo take out his gun and fired at his father three times. One on his shoulder, one on the leg and the last one on the chest.

Mr. Muto placed his hand on his chest before falling backwards to the ground.

"Make sure it looks like he fell from the cliff," said Hirutani.

Chiyo nodded while Hirutani went over and picked up Atem, placing him over his shoulder.

"Wait," said Hirutani.

Chiyo stopped for a moment.

Hirutani walked over to the fallen Muto, "Don't worry. He'll be… in good hands. By the time your family sees him, he's going to be my top assassin."

Mr. Muto gritted his teeth, "Why you…"

Hirutani laughed, "Alright, have fun Chiyo."

"Leave everything to me," Chiyo smirked.

"This… This is how… I was separated from my… family… and how I lost my memories," Yami closed his eyes, "All those lies… all those years of torture… those mindless killings… the home raids – all for what!"

The scene changed into a dark oasis and Yami was standing by the pond.

Yami's bangs were covering his face, "What… What do I do? How… How…"

Suddenly, Yami felt someone placed a hand on his shoulder. He turned around quickly and gasped to see who it was.

"F-Father? Is that… really you?"

Mr. Muto smiled, "It is."

Yami was about to say something when his father suddenly hugged him.

"After all this time, I'm glad that your alive and well…"

Yami couldn't hold it and cried on his father's shoulder.

"I'm sorry… you must have endured so much… I couldn't do anything, just watch from the sidelines as a spirit… but I did all I could as one."

Yami widened his eyes, recalling the times he felt someone with him after his punishments. Suddenly, he felt a tight pressure in his abdomen and fell onto his knees.

"Wha…"

Mr. Muto frowned, "It's your wound. That bastard… he shot you where he stabbed you first."

Yami winced, having his hand on his lower abdomen.

"Son, I know you just reunited with your brother and cousins, but you have a choice."

"A… choice?" Yami said.

"You can end all your suffering, right here, right now."

Yami widened his eyes.

That's when the two appeared in a hallway, and there everyone was waiting with grim looks on their faces. Yami looked over at Yugi and Jaden.

"If I go, I feel like I abandoned them… and I can't do that. Not to them…"

Mr. Muto smiled, "Wise choice. Best rest. You'll need it to recover."

Yami looked at his younger brothers, "Wait for me… both of you."

It's been a month and so far, Yami was still in a coma after John removed the bullet from his already stabbed abdomen. He was placed in the ICU to be monitored.

During that time, Seto and the others stayed at a hotel while waiting any news about Yami. Meanwhile, Yugi and the others received their assignments until they returned to school.

Which bumped Joey and Tristan.

Joey pouted, "I still can't believe we still have to do schoolwork."

Tristan sighed, "Tell me about it."

"Just be glad that we don't have to sit in a classroom," said Yugi. "Besides, Miss John has been helping you guys a lot better than the teachers at school."

"Yugi does have a point," said Tristan.

Joey sighed, "I guess you're right."

"Miss John is the best," Jaden grinned, "She makes studying fun… somehow."

"Did Miss John give lessons to Yami as well?" Yugi asked Jaden.

"Mm, yea, she did. After giving him a test, she said that brother Yami was in a high-level grade in every subject… or something like that."

Seto smirked, "Well, no surprise there. Atem and I were quite smart. I understand why Uncle taught us duel monsters at a young age."

Jaden widened his eyes, "No wonder he was that good against Ron."

Mokuba smirked, "You should see my brother duel. He's the best."

"Really? I wanna see! I wanna see!" Jaden said.

"You can when I'm not so busy," said Seto.

"Hey, do you have a deck, Jay?" Joey asked.

Jaden shook his head, "No, I lost my cards last year."

"Well, let's redeem that when we get back to Domino City," said Solomon.

Jaden's eyes brightened and was jumping up and down.

Yugi tried to calm Jaden down when Seto got a call. The older Kaiba got up from his sit before walking to the balcony.

"Yes, hello? … What?! He is?! Right, thank you."

Seto walked back inside before having an annoyed look on his face. On the floor was Joey and Tristan, their heads lying on the floor and their butts sticking out.

"Do I want to know what happened?" Seto asked Yugi.

The small teen shook his head with a sheepish smile while Jaden and Mokuba were laughing.

"Grandfather?" Seto said.

Solomon just pointed towards Tea who was glaring daggers at them.

"Ah, I see," said Seto, knowing what happened.

"So, who called?" Yugi asked.

Seto smiled, "Atem woke up."

"What?!"

"Of course, he was half-conscious and went back to sleep, but he's stable," said Seto.

Yugi let out a sigh of relief while Jaden had a huge grin on his face.

"So, when will he be fully conscious?" Mokuba asked.

"It depends. Right now, he'll be going in and out of consciousness," replied Seto.

"So, when can we visit?" Jaden asked.

"In four days. That should give Atem enough time to be fully awake," replied Seto.

-Hospital, five days later-

Yami slowly opened his eyes, only to close them again from the light. After a minute or two, he reopened his eyes and slowly his eyes adjusted to the light.

The older Muto could hear a beeping sound coming from his left and was wearing an oxygen mask. He tried to move, but he couldn't as he felt his body heavy.

'Why can't I get up?' Yami thought.

That's when a nurse came in and was looking at his vitals. She was about to leave when she heard a small, weak groan. The nurse turned around and saw that Yami was awake.

"Oh, let me get Dr. John."

It didn't take long for the nurse to return with the doctor who looked at Yami's vitals and did a physical check-up.

"Are you able to speak, Atem?" John asked.

Yami wanted to but his throat felt dry, so he slightly shook his head.

"Mm, that should be suspected. You were in a coma for about a month," said John.

Yami stared at the doctor with disbelief look on his face.

"Your family and friends visited you yesterday. Your brothers didn't want to leave your side. Mr. Kaiba and one of your friends had to drag them out of the room so they could eat," said John.

Yami smiled a bit.

"They'll be visiting later today again," said John before leaving.

The nurse turned on the tv, but Yami wasn't listening to it as he was too much in thought. He didn't know how long had passed until he heard familiar voices entering his room.

"Next time Joey, don't carry me like a sack of potatoes," murmured Yugi.

"Hey! If I don't, moneybags would chew me out for not watching out for ya… and your new little brother," said Joey.

Yugi sighed, "Alright, I promise I'll go on my own when its dinner."

"You better," said Joey. "The same goes to you, kiddo."

Jaden just pouted when he noticed that Yami was awake. The young brunette let out a huge smile and went over to Yami's side.

"You're awake… um, are you fully awake?"

Yami gave a small smile and nodded as the others entered the room.

Jaden frowned, "Still can't talk, huh?"

"The doctor told us it will take a couple of days for him to regain his voice again," said Seto. He then smirked, "Glad to know the Muto stubbornness kicked in, three times in a row to boot."

"The Muto… stubbornness?" Jaden asked, tilting his head.

That's when Solomon explained to the young brunette how the Muto's can be rather stubborn, even their cousins.

After a few more days passed and Yami came out from the ICU and transferred into a room.

John then notified the group that Yami would be able to transfer to Domino within a week.

Just a day before being transferred, Yami was reading a book when Raphael came in with a woman and a young teen brunette.

"Raphael? What are you doing here?" Yami asked.

"Just saying my goodbyes. Tomorrow you're finally going back home," said Raphael before placing his hand on the young teen brunette. "Also, an old friend of yours wanted to see you."

"Old… friend?" Yami said before looking at the young teen brunette. She had brown hair that went downwards in all directions with green-blue eyes.

He widened his eyes, "M-Mana? Is that really you?"

Mana grinned, "You bet. And I am so relieved that you're free from that bastard! And finally, be reunited with your family!"

Yami smiled softly, "I'm glad that you're alright. But I thought…"

"Hirutani's men didn't get us Yami. We were overseas when we got the news about my aunt's house been burned," explained Mana before sighing. "We were devastated to hear about her death along with a neighborhood kid she was babysitting."

Yami gasped, "Wait! So, it wasn't you and your mother who got killed, but your aunt and an unknown child? I'm… sorry to hear that."

The woman shook her head, "It's alright Yami, dear. She wasn't blood related. My mother sort of adopted her into the family when she didn't have anyone else. Besides, she was diagnosed with cancer, so it was a blessing in disguise."

Yami sighed in relief, "So, when did you get back?"

"A few days ago, I wanted to see you, but I had no idea how to find you," said Mana, sadly before smiling again, "Then we heard the news about Hirutani's death, and his men arrested."

"So, we went to the police station," continued the woman. "We were ready to defend you in case they arrested you as well."

Yami chuckled a bit, "No need. Jaden beat you to it."

Mana tilted her head, "Jaden? Who's that?"

Just before Yami could reply, Jaden dashed pass Mana and went straight to Yami. The young brunette grinned, "Hey, brother. Are you excited to be going home? I am!"

Yami laughed, softly, "Yes, I am. But look who came to visit."

Jaden turned around to see Raphael.

"Raphael! You came!" Jaden said before noticing the woman and the young female brunette. He tilted his head, "Who are you?"

Just before the two women could reply, Yugi and the others came in.

"Hey, Raphael, what's up?" Yugi asked before noticing the two women. "Who are you two?"

"Yugi, everyone, this is Mana and her mother, Martha. Mana is a good friend of mine when I was younger," replied Yami. "I would sneak out from any hideout and would meet up to play with her and her older brother, Mahad."

Yugi was glad to know that his brother wasn't all alone.

"Pleasure to meet you all," greeted Mana.

"Pleasure to meet you as well. I'm Yugi, Yami's brother."

"Hi! I'm Jaden. Yami's adopted brother!"

"Joey Wheeler at your service and Atem's childhood friend."

"Tristan Talyor, Atem's childhood friend."

"…Tea Gardner, Atem's childhood friend."

"Seto Kaiba, Atem's cousin and the CEO of Kaiba Corporation."

"Mokuba Kaiba, Atem's cousin."

"Solomon Muto, Atem's grandfather."

Martha smiled, "Nice to meet you all. And now I can have a peace of mind to know that you're in safe hands, Yami."

Mana tilted her head, "Atem? Why are they calling you that?"

"It's my actual first name. Yami is my middle name. How's your brother?"

"Oh, I see. And he's doing just fine. He just started college," said Mana. She then frowned a bit, "So, you're finally going back home?"

Yami nodded, "That's right, but I still need to stay in the hospital until I'm a bit stronger… which I don't like."

Mana and Jaden giggled upon seeing Yami's pout face.

Mana sighed, "Well, that sucks. And I was so happy to finally see you again."

Yugi thought for a moment, "You know, there will be a festival in Domino City soon. You guys can come. And you'll be able to hang out with Yami, Mana."

Mana's eyes brighten, "Oh, we're so there! I'll tell Mahad as well."

The young female brunette was jumping up and down before getting a cold shiver down her spine. She turned around and spotted Tea giving her a death glare.

'Okay, note to self, be careful around Tea,' she thought.

'Who does this girl think she is?! I – I mean, we just got Atem back, and now this-this brat is trying to take him away from me. Oh, this means war!' Tea thought, angrily.

-Break Line-

Well, what do you guys think?

From this point on, it's going to be new chapters from the original. This was supposed to be the squeal, but I decided to just continue if off from here.

Ciao for now.
