My Hero Academia and That time I got reincarnated as a slime are the property of Horikoshi and Fuse, along with the companies that release both manga, Light novels, web novels and anime. I own nothing but whatever Oc are created for this story, and even that is up for debate.
One note before we start. In the last couple of chapters I have been made aware that there are Youtube channels releasing my story in an audio format. At this time I wish to state that those were done without my permission. Honestly guys If you want to put the stories on youtube just ask me, title the story and credit me properly and please don't monetize it, since that puts a target on all of our backs.
U. A High School, Classroom 1-A Entrance, Musutafu Japan, April 10, 2220, 07:30
Izuku and Katsuki stood in front of a massive door, staring in awe at the scope of it. A quiet "Holy shit" escaped the normally explosive teens lips.
Next to him, Izuku muttered, "Do you think giants attend this school?"
Great Sage took that moment to offer its thoughts on the matter, "Statistically speaking, given the existence of gigantification quirks such as Mount Lady's or kaiju quirks such as Godzillo's, the answer is yes."
Izuku mentally sent a thanks to Great Sage as Katsuki responded "Probably, but time's wasting, let's get in there!"
As Izuku opened the door, he noted the people who were already in the classroom. He and Katsuki hadn't been the only ones to think of arriving early. Standing by a desk close to the door was a girl with white hair with a wisp of red that fell to her shoulder blades. Her fair skin contrasted with her turquoise eyes. Seated on the opposite side of the room was the blue-haired boy with the mufflers on his legs from the exam. He was preparing his supplies on the desk he had picked.
Near the back of the room a blonde-haired boy with a large tail was chatting with a girl with green hair and another, very tall boy with six arms and a mask on his face. Standing near the front of the classroom, inspecting the various items around the room, was a tall, mature-looking girl that Izuku recognized but couldn't remember the name of. "Her name is Momo Yaoyorozu," Great Sage interjected.
Sending another silent thank you to his quirk, Izuku walked up to the Raven-haired girl and said "It's nice to see you again, Yaoyorozu."
Confusion crossed the raven-haired girl's face before recognition set in, "You were that boy from the bookstore, Midoriya, wasn't it?"
Izuku nodded, "I'm glad you remember me."
Momo replied, "It took me a moment, but our conversation actually helped me out quite a bit. How have you been?"
Izuku thought about his response "There have been some highs and some lows but at the end of the day, I'm here."
Momo looked like she was about to say something when the door opened again and three figures walked in. The first was a boy with blonde hair that had had a black lightning bolt on it. The most striking thing about him was his yellow eyes that darted about the room, stopping briefly on the white-haired girl and Momo. A look that Izuku had seen on many of his male classmates throughout the years appeared on his face.
Coming up behind him was a girl with dark purple hair and onyx eyes with what looked like earphone jacks coming out of the bottom of her ears. The look on her face switched between annoyed and dispassionate. If Izuku had to guess, he would think that she was trying to keep her emotions in check.
Coming up from behind the girl and from the angle his eyes were at, staring at the girl's butt was a boy Izuku recognized as Mineta. As soon as he entered the room, Izuku watched as Mineta took notice of the girls in the room and the look on his face mirrored the blonde haired boy's. As it had back in February, the way the small boy was acting annoyed Izuku, but at the moment all the boy was doing was gawking and he couldn't do anything about that.
Izuku's musings were interrupted as the door opened again and a boy with the head of a raven walked in. The boy slowly looked around the room before he moved to the back of the room and took a seat.
Izuku didn't have any time to think about the boy that had just entered when the door opened again to reveal the blonde-haired boy with the belly button laser, a boy with a face that resembled a rocky cliff, and a large muscular boy with black hair and large lips.
Izuku sat down. Watching his classmates enter the classroom had made for great people-watching and Katsuki was busy getting into it with the blue-haired boy. If Izuku knew his best friend, it would be awhile. Izuku turned his attention to the door as it slid open again, and this time three students entered. The first was a boy with dark black hair and a large smile. Izuku couldn't help but notice that the boy's blazer wore a bit differently around the elbows and wondered if that was related to the boy's quirk.
Right behind him came a boy with red hair in a spiky updo and a very pink skinned girl with pink hair and small yellow-white horns on her head. Both of them felt very familiar to Izuku. Great Sage once again offered its commentary, "They are Eijiro Kirishima and Mina Ashido." Izuku found his mind flooded with the images of that day and remembered where and when he had seen them last.
Putting a big smile on his face, he called out. "Ashido, Kirishima? Is that you?"
The two teens looked at the green-haired boy for a moment, trying to figure out who it was that was talking to them when twin looks of comprehension crossed their faces. It was Kirishima who spoke first. "Hey, you're that kid from the arcade a few years back! How ya been, man?"
Izuku smiled. "It's been an interesting couple of years. But I'm here."
Smiling coyly, Mina spoke up. "So, have you gotten any better at dance games?"
Izuku returned the smile. "A bit, but you'll have to wait to see how much better."
Any further conversation was interrupted as the door slid open again and Izuku watched as the girl with the frog-like features and the brunette with the round face walked in. 'I'm glad to see that they made it in.'
The girls took notice of Izuku and moved to say something, but before they could, the door opened and in walked a woman with long pink and purple hair tied into a high ponytail that fell down to her shoulder blades. She was wearing a dark blue pantsuit with a white shirt underneath it. With a very slight smile and a cool tone of voice she said, "Everybody please find a seat," Those that were standing quickly moved to find a place to sit. Izuku found a spot right behind Katsuki.
When the class was seated and quiet, the multi-colored hair woman continued, "Good morning class, I am Kaina Tsutsumi. Some of you may remember me from my days as an active hero, when I went under the name Lady Nagant. Your regular Homeroom teacher was called away on urgent business and will be away for a month. Until then, I will be filling in for him in most respects. Does anybody have any questions?"
As several of his classmates raised their hands, Izuku was getting an info dump from Great Sage. He remembered when Lady Nagant had gone on a sabbatical. At the time, it had been expected that she would return to active hero work at some point. The various hero forums had nearly exploded when it had been announced that she had accepted a teaching position at UA and that she was retiring from active heroics. If Izuku recalled correctly, she was supposed to be the teacher for Advanced Heroics that was taught in third year. This was on top of being the head teacher for the third years, having replaced Snipe when he had moved on to a teaching position at a school in the United States.
Lady Nagant had been one of several heroes trained at one of the HPSC's public hero schools instead of at one of the better known private schools like UA, and she had worked with the organization quite a bit, mostly appearing on promotional material, not unlike Hawks. Years ago, there had been a variety of rumors about why she had stopped working for the commission, ranging from some sort of sex scandal to her being some sort of wetworks agent that wanted out. The second one had been so ludicrous that those who had proposed it had been laughed off the forums. Of course, the people who had said those things were also the people who said that All Might was quirkless, so their judgment was suspect to begin with.
Izuku's thoughts were interrupted when he heard the woman say, "That's enough for right now, the opening ceremony will begin soon so we need to get to the athletic field."
School opening ceremonies were the same no matter what school you went to. The only thing that separated UA from a normal school in that regard was that the staff were all pro heroes and had a tendency to really be on brand. Principal Nezu, who had a reputation as scary, had been a prime example. Nothing the diminutive chimera had said had been in any way threatening, but the entire time the being had been on stage, Great Sage had been sending up alarm bells.
Afterwards, they had been introduced to the other heads of the first-year classes such as Power Loader, who was the head of the support department, and Vlad King, the head of their sister class 1-B. Not all of their teachers could be there that day because of their hero duties, but Principal Nezu had said that they would meet them eventually. After being introduced to members of the support staff such as Hound Dog, Lunch Rush and Recovery Girl, the various classes were returned to their homerooms
After the class had settled down, Nagant looked at the group and said "That will be all for today. The class outline for the year will be on your desk when you arrive tomorrow. Get a good night's sleep tonight, because your physical training begins tomorrow. "
After they had been released for the day, Izuku and Katsuki walked through the streets of Musutafu, both of them silent as they digested the day's events. Suddenly, Katsuki exploded, "Okay, spill Slimer! How the fuck did you know the pink chick and her friend, let alone someone like Momo Yaoyorozu?"
Izuku smiled," Do you remember when I took that summer off from training after burning out?" Katsuki nodded. The first couple of days after it had happened had been rough for his friend, and Katsuki had done his best to help his friend. After a moment Izuku continued, "During that summer, I met Momo while at a bookstore. I don't know why she was there, but for a few minutes we talked about hero costumes."
Katsuki nodded before he asked "And what about the pink chick and her friend?"
Izuku looked thoughtful as he recalled the memory, "I met them at an arcade in Chiba when I went with my dad on one of his business trips. They were playing a dance game and after she had beaten Kirishima, Ashido challenged me and kicked my butt."
Katsuki once again nodded before he spoke up, "And what about the chick with the round face and her friend that looked like a frog? They looked like they wanted to talk to you before Nagant entered the room."
Izuku sighed, Katsuki was just full of questions today. "Remember what I told you about my exam?" When Katsuki nodded, Izuku continued, "Well, those were the two girls I was talking about."
Katsuki nodded and replied "That makes sense," before a devilish smirk appeared on his face "All those girls, are you sure you're not trying to set up some sort of harem?"
Izuku nodded, his mind not completely absorbing what his friend had said, "I was—" a few seconds before his brain caught up and in a scandalized voice Izuku yelled "KACCHAN!" as he started to chase after his friend.
Katsuki started running, cackling all the way.
U.A. High School, Classroom 1-A, Musutafu Japan, April 11, 2220, 11:30
As Izuku listened to Ectoplasm talk about an algebraic equation, he couldn't help but think, 'I guess even if it is a school for heroes, schools are still schools.'
When Izuku and Katsuki had arrived to class, they along with all the other students had found a sheet that detailed, amongst other things, their daily schedule. The first half of the day would be dedicated to the core subjects: Math, Japanese, Literature, History, and—later on in the year—Art History. These were taught at a more accelerated pace than they would have been at a non hero school, and that was to make way for what came after lunch. When they returned from lunch every day, they would take part in hero training. Izuku wasn't sure what that would entail, but he was excited to find out.
As the bell chimed and the students started to rise from their seats, Ectoplasm called out, "Remember to return here after lunch for the start of hero training." Izuku didn't particularly need the reminder but was grateful for it, nonetheless. Now it was time to enjoy lunch cooked by Lunch Rush. The man was a lesser known hero, but during disasters he could be found setting up emergency kitchens across the affected areas (and if the rumors were true, the man was absolutely frightening with a knife).
—-
After lunch, Izuku and the others had returned to the classroom to find packages with their name on them placed on the desks they had sat at before lunch. As Izuku and the others tried to puzzle out what the packages were, the door slid open to reveal Kaina Tsutsumi, this time dressed in an outfit that resembled what she had worn when she was an active hero.
As she looked over the class, making sure that everyone was present, Tsutsumi spoke, "Welcome to your first day of hero training." She waited a few moments for the cheers of the class to die down before continuing. "Today, you are all going to have a chance to show your classmates what you can do." She waited another few moments for the class to cheer. "The package on your desk contains a set of workout clothes tailored to your size and, if necessary, your quirks. I will lead you to the locker rooms to get changed, and afterwards we will head to the athletic field."
—-
As the boys got changed in the locker room, Izuku's mind turned to his classmates. He had learned their names today during roll call and had made sure that Great Sage committed them to memory.
The boy with the raven head was Fumikage Tokoyami. Izuku had observed that he spoke in a more classical way whenever he could. It reminded Izuku of some old samurai movies he had seen over the years.
The blond-haired boy that had helped him during the exams was named Yuga Aoyama. Izuku couldn't understand why, but there was something about the boy that felt performative, fake; and it concerned him.
The blond-haired boy with the large tail was Mashirao Ojiro. Izuku wasn't really sure what to make of the guy. He seemed nice enough, and a quick glance at his hands reminded Izuku of the students at Jungle Karma. If he had to guess, Mashirao was a martial artist of some sort.
Mezo Shoji was a bit of a mystery. Just from his arms, it was clear that his quirk was heteromorphic. But between his mask and the fact that he had said little in the last two days, Izuku couldn't figure out much about him. He was sure there was a story behind the mask, though.
Rikido Sato was also a bit of a mystery. If Izuku had to guess, the boy had some sort of enhancement quirk, but so far he hadn't said anything that would indicate if he was right or not.
Denki Kaminari was interesting. He had a friendly personality and was a bit of a fast mover with girls. Though he didn't seem very good at it, as he had been shot down by all eight girls in the two days they had been in class.
Hanta Sero seemed like a cool guy, but Izuku was more interested in his quirk. He wasn't sure what it was exactly, but the view he had gotten of the boy's elbows told him it was slightly biomechanical.
Tenya Iida was a very… intense person, very focused on the idea of how things were supposed to be. In a way, he reminded Izuku of some of the pre-quirk comics from the 1950s and 60s, where the heroes were always stalwart and forthright. That wasn't in and of itself a bad thing, but the way he went about it was a little much. To be fair, his classmate did have a family legacy to uphold. Great Sage had told Izuku that based on his family name and what had been seen of his quirk during the exams, he was likely closely related to Ingenium, the current head of the Idaten Hero Agency. If that was true, then his family's legacy went back to the early days of heroes.
Koji Koda was interesting. He was clearly very shy but had managed to pass the entrance exam despite that. He had said little in the last two days, but what he had said had been communicated in a combination of Japanese and American Sign Language. Izuku resolved to learn the languages, but in the meantime he had Great Sage acting as a translation program for him.
Eijiro Kirishima was much the same as he had been back when they had met years earlier. Maybe he was a bit more expressive than he had been at the arcade and the red hair was certainly a new touch. But then that made sense, they had only known each other for a short time.
Mineta… Mineta was going to be a problem. In the two days they had been in class, the short boy had spent most of it gawking at their female classmates and had been extremely obvious about it. Izuku understood the appeal of a pretty girl—he had enjoyed those pictures of Mt. Lady's wardrobe malfunction as much as any other straight guy—but there was a big, obvious line between checking a pretty girl out and gawking at them like pieces of meat you wanted to devour.
That brought Izuku's thoughts to the girls in his class. He was a little shocked at the relatively low number of girls in the Hero course at UA— but then again, as he recalled, many future heroines attended Seiai Academy, a private Hero school that only accepted girls. If Izuku remembered correctly, Uwabami was one of their graduates.
Momo Yaoyorozu, while he knew she was intelligent from his conversation with her years ago, showed just how smart she was during class, answering questions effortlessly that even he needed to take a moment to think about.
Then there was Ochaco Uraraka. She was the girl he had helped save from the zero point villain during the exam. She was… driven. Izuku wasn't sure what was driving her, but all of his time learning how to analyze under Dr. Uzuki had helped him learn how to read people, and the girl definitely had some goal she was striving for. Despite that, she seemed very outgoing and friendly. He looked forward to getting to know her better over the next couple of years.
Her friend Tsuyu Asui was, in a word, blunt. During history class they had talked about the fall of the People's Republic of China and the rise of the Taiwanese Union. The girl's opinion on the failures of the early union, while not uncommon, had been delivered with all the tact and subtlety of a Detroit Smash to the face.
Kyoka Jiro, he was still trying to figure out, but she seemed ill at ease with the school uniform. As in, she would rather wear almost anything else. If Izuku had to guess, based on the marks under her eyes and the studs in her ear, it seemed that the girl was into punk and wasn't a huge fan of the uniform.
Mina Ashido was every bit as bubbly as he remembered. She had an energy that was infectious. Even if Present Mic of all people had needed to ask her to quiet down. They had had little time to catch up in the last couple of days, but Izuku looked forward to getting reacquainted with her.
Toru Hagakure seemed a lot like Mina. The electric-green haired girl was full of energy. Maybe a bit too much. But she seemed like a decent person from his limited exposure to her. He was really curious as to what her quirk was though.
Izuku was having trouble getting a read on Fuyumi Todoroki. On one level she seemed fairly personable, almost eager to please, on another level she seemed closed off, clamming up when conversations ventured towards home life. Truthfully Izuku was kicking himself for not recognizing her yesterday, While Endeavour had largely kept his family out of the limelight for the last decade, the media had managed to get snapshots from time to time. And social media, being what it was, meant that pictures of the family spread to every part of the net.
Izuku was shaken from his thoughts when Katsuki's voice cut through: "Hey, Slimer! Wake the fuck up, we need to get to the field!"
Izuku smiled, embarrassed, "Sorry, I just got lost in thought."
Standing near the door Tenya spoke up, "While I find Bakugo's language to be unbecoming of a hero, he has a point."
Slightly embarrassed by getting lost in thought, Izuku placed the package containing his gym uniform down on the locker room bench before turning into his slime forming and falling on it. In an instant he had absorbed it, and in the next he had transformed back to human, now wearing his gym uniform. There was silence in the room as most of the boys watched amazed at what had just happened, the silence was broken by Katsuki muttering "Show off."
Kaminari was the next to speak up, "Dude! What the heck was that?!"
Izuku rubbed the back of his head and said, "It's part of my Quirk, 'Adaptive Slime'. What you saw was technically my true form."
Any further discussion of Izuku's quirk was stalled by Iida who spoke urgently, "This discussion of Midoriya's quirk is fascinating but the girls and our teacher are waiting for us. It would shame us as men and as future heroes if we kept them waiting longer than absolutely necessary."
Izuku and the other boys had the grace to look abashed as they quickly finished up getting ready.
—-
The athletic field that Izuku and his classmates stood on looked like what one would expect. It was a bit larger than most of the students had seen in the past, but all the track and field equipment was where they expected to find it. After a few moments Tsutsumi called for silence from the group and said, "Today's class is about figuring out what your baselines are. While the government has gotten better about quirk usage in recent years, when it comes to standardized testing, the Diet is still dragging its feet about their use in physical tests. That makes it hard for us and the other hero schools to know what you can do, what you can't do and where your soft and hard limits are.
So today you are going to be run through a series of drills that you might recognize from the Athletic days you have had over the years. The difference will be that you may use your quirks to boost your performance. How you go about doing so will be up to you."
There were murmurs of excitement among the group and Izuku heard Mina say how fun this was going to be. All the chatter ceased when their teacher spoke up again. With a slight smile on her face but a serious tone in her voice Tsutsumi said "There is nothing wrong about having some fun with this class but remember that you are here at this school to learn to be heroes and you only have so long to learn what you need to know. Use your time here wisely, learn your limits and then Go Beyond them."
The group of teens all stood tall as they absorbed the pro hero's words.
Grip Strength
Izuku watched as his classmates made their attempts using the devices that had been set up for their use. The most impressive had been Sato who after swallowing something had managed to get a score of 450 Kg single handed and Shoji who using three of his hands had managed to achieve a score of 540 Kg.
Now it was his turn and as he put his hands on the device he closed his eyes and spoke to Great Sage "How much force can we exert Great Sage?"
Great Sage was silent momentarily before it responded By my calculations you should be able to exert roughly 150 Kg of force unassisted. If you use your built up power, you should be able to bring that score up to 300 Kg of force."
Izuku grinned, "Let's do it, Great Sage."
As Izuku's focus returned to the surface, he tightened his grip on the devices handle. Izuku watched as the numbers slowly grew 75, 100, 150. 250 and finally 300. Izuku briefly wondered if he could push it further but decided not to press his luck.
Distance Run
The distance run hadn't been that hard as it was more of a test of stamina than anything else… or rather it was supposed to have been. Iida. Katsuki, Sero and himself had run until Tsutsumi had told them to stop. Yaoyorozu had created a bike and had lasted just as long as they had. Iida had tried to protest but Tsutsumi had reminded them that the goal of the test was to use their quirks to their advantage. Yaoyorozu had used her quirk to complete the task before her and with less effort than any of the boys had put forth.
Iidas's face had gone a bit red with embarrassment but he only nodded and accepted his teacher's words.
Seated Toe Touch and Sit-ups
The next two events had like the distance run been less a test of power and ability and more a test of flexibility and stamina. Ashido had proved extremely naturally flexible and while Izuku's body had made him fairly flexible as well he found himself unable to replicate the pink-skinned girls feats
Todoroki, Kirishima Asui, Katsuki and himself had done the best in the sit-ups, Izuku had mentally dope slapped himself for whatever latent chauvinism had caused him to be surprised that the girls would do just as well as the guys at the event. "They got into UA after all."
50 Meter Dash
Izuku had to admit that watching his classmates use their quirks to move had been interesting. Iida had easily been the fastest of all of them, clearing the distance in just over three seconds with the use of the engines in his legs.. Easily beating his opponent Asui who had hopped the distance in just a bit over five seconds.
The next interesting match was Mineta and the green-haired girl Hagakure. The purple-haired boy had crossed the finish line in five seconds tossing the balls that he pulled from his head and jumping on them. Easily beating the girl who didn't seem to have a quirk that was useful in the event, coming in at eight seconds.
Yaoyorozu and Ojiro had tied at just under six seconds with the raven-haired girl using her bike from the distance run and the tailed boy using his tail to launch off into a running start.
Kirishima and Katsuki had been next, The red-haired boy had made a valiant effort but had lost by nearly two seconds to Katsuki's four seconds.
Now it was Izuku's turn, he was facing off against the brown-haired girl Uraraka. As he observed her he noticed she seemed to use her quirk on her clothes. If he was hearing her whispers to herself correctly she was trying to lighten her clothes. "It's not a bad idea but I'm not sure if it will be as effective as she thinks."
When it was his turn, Izuku stepped up to the start line with Uraraka and waited for Tsutsumi to say start. Uraraka took a ready stance, as did Izuku.
"Go"
In an instant, Izuku transitioned into his wolf form and was off. A few seconds later he stopped as he crossed the finish line and heard his time of five seconds and soon thereafter Urarakas time of seven and a quarter seconds.
The rest of the events proceeded with all of his classmates getting at least one particularly good score in each until it came to the final event.
Ball Throw
Tsutsumi stood in front of the group to explain how the event would work. "This is the final test for today. The goal is simple: toss the ball as far as possible. There are no restrictions on how you do so as long as you don't step outside the circle." She pointed to the chalk circles next to her. She held a ball that was the size of a softball. "These balls have sensors in them that will gauge how far they have been thrown." To provide an example, she grabbed a piece of her long hair and shaped it into a bullet with a long strand coming from the bottom. With a deftness born of practice, she tied the free stand to the ball and fed the bullet into her palm before the arm shifted into the sniper rifle she was known for. After taking a moment to aim into the sky, she fired, and the group watched amazed as the ball flew into the distance.
After a few seconds, the woman's arm shifted back to normal, and she pulled a smartphone from one of her pockets. After a few moments of fiddling with it, she turned the phone to the class and showed a digital readout. It read 1 ki. Izuku was amazed. He knew from news reports he had read over the years that Tsutsumi's range was quite a bit further than that. But he figured that the ball likely reduced the bullets effective range.
Grabbing another ball from nearby, Tsutsumi looked at the group with a smile on her face. "Who wants to go first" the class hands rose as if one.
The ball throws largely went as Izuku expected. Those with quirks that were not beneficial to the event made throws that were fairly standard for a quirkless person.
Those with enhanced strength like Sato and Shoji had thrown their balls several hundred meters.
Kaminari had attempted to use his quirk to mimic a rail gun and while it hadn't gone as he had managed just over one hundred meters.
Yaoyorozu had produced a small cannon and had launched her ball over six hundred meters.
When Uraraka had used her quirk on her ball, the entire group had stood gobsmacked as the ball continued to fly until it disappeared into the distance. It was a shocked Tsutsumi that turned her device around to reveal the screen read ∞.
Katsuki was the first to break the silence when he looked at Izuku and whispered loudly "I don't think either of us is beating that score, Slimer. "Izuku could only nod in agreement.
Finally, only Katsuki and Izuku remained, Izuku handed the ball to his best friend and waited to see what he would do. He didn't have to wait long as the blonde bomber smiled viscously and began his throw. Just as the ball left his hand Katsuki roared "DIE!" and peppered the flying ball with an explosion that pushed the ball away at an impressive pace. Using his enhanced vision to keep an eye on the ball and Great Sage to keep track of the distances, Izuku watched in awe as his friend's ball flew hundreds of meters in an instant. Before it began its descent. Landing with a thud that Izuku only barely heard 705.2 meters away. A score that was mirrored on their teacher's phone soon thereafter. With a triumphant grin on his face Katsuki looked at Izuku and said "Beat that Slimer."
Izuku grinned back at his friend and said "Gladly" before he slipped into his mental plain and spoke to Great Sage. "I think I have a plan but I want to run it by you first "Great Sage" Izuku's mindscape was soon filled with visions of a program he had watched recently that talked about the science behind certain legends. The one that had caught his eye during the program was the story of the biblical figure David and how he had with a sling launched a rock so hard that it had knocked out or killed a giant, Truthfully Izuku wasn't sure if the man was an actual giant or maybe the very early appearance of a mutation quirk, but the science behind how such a feat could happen fascinated Izuku.
Great Sage was silent for a moment before it responded. Such a plan should be entirely possible for you with your current abilities, however something more is required." A diagram appeared in front of Izuku showing a figure he assumed to be him launching the ball that was trailed by a dotted line. He watched as after a few hundred meters the ball hit the tip of its arc and fell to earth.
Izuku thought about what could be done after a moment he had an idea, "What if we use my enhanced vision and your predictive abilities like we did when Katsuki was throwing his ball. Then when the balls arc hits its peak, we use an air blast to send it further. Then we keep doing that until it is no longer effective."
Great Sage was silent as it considered what Izuku had said, after another moment it responded "That would be acceptable."
Izuku smiled, time to put his plan to work, Tucking the ball under his right arm, Izuku put his hands together and created a sling out of his webs, taking care to make sure that the basket was big enough for the ball. Taking a deep breath, he watched as a vision of himself making the optimum throw appeared before his eyes and Izuku moved to follow suit. Willing as much power into his arms as possible he began twirling the sling while beginning his own twist around than at the last moment he released the ball into the air sending it flying at incredible speeds.
With no hesitation Izuku started using Great Sage to track the ball as it flew, both of his hands were raised in front of him connected at the index and thumb forming a rudimentary triangle. As the ball began its descent Izuku released a strong ball of air that intercepted the ball as it fell, sending it flying even further. When the ball started falling again Izuku fired a second stronger blast of air. Taking notice that the second blast hadn't been as effective as the first despite its greater strength, Izuku poured even more power into the third shot, when he fired the shot he noted that the displacement had knocked Mineta and Hagakure to the ground.
As the blast of air collided with the ball Izuku noted that he had been right, at the distance the ball was at even with the increased strength of his third blast it had been weaker than the first by the time it intercepted the ball causing it to only fly a short distance before falling to earth. Rather than letting Great Sage tell him how far it had flown, Izuku looked to Tsutsumi for his score. He was only mildly disappointed when she turned her phone to him and it read 705, just under Katsuki's score.
Katsuki stalked up to his friend and put up a fist. A fist that was met by Izuku's own, before he said "Nice job Slimer, coming in third behind me ain't too bad." Izuku only nodded as their classmates walked up to them and congratulated them on their performance before the shrill sound of a whistle filled the air.
When the group of teens looked over at their teacher, she favored the group with a wry grin. "That was very good, all of you. The staff and I will be going over your performances in the coming days and weeks and will work with each of you on improving your strengths, minimizing or fortifying your weaknesses and increasing your ability with your quirks. Remember what I said at the start of training today. You only have a limited amount of time here at school to train, to improve your skills and abilities and to learn new ones. Use this time to become the best version of yourselves that you can be."
Almost as one the now solemn teenagers nodded at their teachers' words.
After a moment Tsutsumi clapped her hands and said "Now we finished a bit early today and have an hour before school ends for the day. So get changed and take the rest of the hour as a free period."
It was a quiet group of teens that started making their way toward the lockers.
U. A High School, Classroom 1-A, Mustafaru Japan, April 12,12:35
As the twenty teenagers sat in their classroom chatting, one haired, glasses wearing youth impatient tapped his feet. Izuku looked at the sight before him and gently asked "Iida, what's wrong?"
The spectacle wearing lad spared Izuku a glance before he replied, "Tsutsumi is running late. At an illustrious institution such as UA such a thing is unconscionable! Surely the instructors for a school such as ours should be paragons of what it means to be a hero including punctuality." All the while the boy's arms chopped up and down making Izuku glad that he was several feet away from the other boy's reach.
Anything that Izuku was going to say in response was silenced when the classroom door slid open and a booming voice filled the air "I AM HERE! Coming through the door like a Hero!"
Standing at the door leaning into the room was All Might in all his mighty glory. In Izuku's excitement, it was all he could do to keep from squealing like a fanboy. As he calmed himself down, he heard Asui ask if the costume All Might was wearing was from the silver age. Looking closer Izuku realized she was right, the red top, the blue bottoms both of which had white lines running through them were paired with the yellow belt, gloves and boots. It was the last of his costumes created by his former sidekick the elastic hero Bend 10. All Might fans the world over had been searching for years to find out who Bend 10 actually was but after a press conference had been held by All Might who had asked that his fans respect his former sidekick's privacy. All but the most fanatic fans had stopped looking. The last time Izuku had bothered to look it up even that group had given up. To be fair, it had been a very long time and whatever trail there had been at the time had disappeared.
Izuku was pulled from his thoughts when All Might started talking, "Welcome to the most important class at UA, Think of it as Heroing 101. Here you will learn the basics of being a pro. And what it means to fight in the name of good, Now let's get to it," All might pulled a card out that read in bold letters BATTLE.
All across the room there were murmurs of worry and excitement. Izuku was a mix of both. "On one hand, I get a chance to impress All Might, on the other hand it's only the second day. Are we really ready for this?"
But All Might wasn't done, Theatrically pointing towards a portion of the wall in front of the class he said "But one of the keys to being a hero is… Looking good!", As if on cue the panels of the wall opened revealing metal briefcases. Each with a number on it that Izuku quickly realized matched the desk that they had taken as theirs. "These were created for you based on your quirks and design notes and requests that you sent in before school started."
As All might lead them to the locker rooms to change, Izuku thought about the issue that had arisen with his costume. He had sent the company that UA used for hero costumes almost as soon as Aunt Mitsuki had presented him with the designs. A few weeks later he had received a call where he had learned that the company didn't have enough of the Dragon Skin-like material available to complete his suit as designed.
Izuku had put them in contact with Aunt Mitsuki and while she had been pissed.
"Damn costume companies running my hard work!"
She had come up with a slightly altered design that Izuku fondly called his Beta suit. In many ways, it looked closer to the costume that had inspired it. The pants, gloves and boots were the same as before as was the body suit worn underneath. However, the jacket had been changed quite a bit and now resembled a Tang style long coat. That split into three tails at the waist, as it had in the original design. The sleeves of the coat ended just below the elbows where the gloves (although if Izuku was being honest with himself, he would call them gauntlets) began on his arms. Izuku found himself quite happy with the redesign.
In the locker room, as the boys opened their cases, Izuku looked at his completed hero suit in all its completed glory. The company had done good work with the new design and had gotten the colors right. The coat and the pants were a dark forest green. On the right side of the suit was a gray circle with the three claws that symbolized the Jungle Karma Martial Arts school. Each of the marks being a much brighter shade of green than the jacket itself.
Both of the body suit parts were dark black that at least in Izuku's opinion, looked cool.
The belt, the gloves and the boots were scarlet red and contrasted well with the green of the rest of the outfit. Izuku had to admit that the silk lining the insides of the gloves felt nice against his skin.
As soon as Izuku finished putting on his costume, he looked at himself in the mirror. It looked just like he had envisioned. A low whistle echoed through the room, causing Izuku to turn around. "Kirishima? He asked with a bit of surprise.
Like himself, Kirishima was fully dressed, between the gear shaped shoulder pads, the ragged half cape, the dark pants and the headgear that gave the other boy the appearance of fangs Kirishima cut an imposing figure. "Midoriya dude, your costume looks super manly!" punctuating his statement with a thumbs up.
Izuku smiled widely, "Thanks Kirishima, Bakugo's mom is a long-time friend of my mom and works in the fashion industry, She designed it for me."
Kirishima turned to the blonde boy who was busy attaching his grenade shaped gauntlets and said, "Dude, your mom rocks at costume design."
Katsuki looked at the other boy and grinned. "Damn straight!"
Aoyama chose that moment to interject. "Pardon, monsieur, Did your mama design your costume as well?"
Katsuki looked at the other blonde boy and barked, "Hell no, she's good at what she does but no way in hell would I have her design my costume!"
As the two boys chatted Izuku took a moment to check out his classmates' hero suits. Aoyama wore a fancy set of silver-colored armor over a black bodysuit, around his waist was a sturdier looking version of the belt he had worn during the entrance exam. The winged visor and the cape pulled the whole fancy knight look together.
Iida's suit looked very familiar to Izuku, Like Aoyamas, It resembled a knight, but where the blonde boy's suit was more classical, Iidas looked far more vehicular and seemed like it was meant to hit and take a hit
Ojiros costume was a Karate Gi with a black belt and a furry collar, The black boots served as a nice counterpoint to the rest of the outfit. When the other boy looked in his direction, Izuku saw his eyes widen in surprise.
Satos outfit was fairly simple, A bright yellow body suit that covered him head to toe except for a bit of hair paired with a pair of gloves, a pair of boots and a utility belt all in white.
Kaminari's hero costume was also fairly simple, it was a black jacket and pair of pants each with a white line passing through both. Underneath the boy wore a plain white shirt. On his right ear was an ear mounted radio.
Shoji's costume was a two toned shirt that was two shades of blue. From the chest up it was a dark blue that came up to his mouth, below that it was a much lighter shade of blue with six buttons that resembled eyes, the ensemble was completed by a dark blue belt with a large eye like buckle, light blue pants and dark blue boots.
Koda was wearing a tight yellow suit that went to his knees and elbows, with a large red marking over his torso and at the ends of his sleeves. On his chest, was a symbol resembling an open mouth, last he wore a pair of yellow shoes with red lining.
Sero was wearing a black and white bodysuit that had a turtleneck and stopped just above his elbows, on each shoulder he wore a yellow and white shoulder pad. Around his waist was a silver belt and on his feet he wore a white pair of boots with a yellow circle at the top.
Tokoyami wore a dark robe over an equal; y dark t-shirt and pants and black boots. On each wrist were equally dark wristbands. Izuku had had little time to talk to the raven headed boy, but he suspected that the costume was going to be part of the theme with the other lad.
Katsuki's hero suit looked almost exactly like the drawings the boy had made over the years. The company that had produced their suits had even included the grenade like gauntlets. "I wonder if they included that feature we talked about."
Izuku had been a bit skeptical about the support equipment his friend had proposed, but he had to admit that in theory it was a good idea. After all there was only so much power Katsuki could bring to bear at any time and if the company had filled the request correctly those gauntlets would allow him to release explosions far beyond what he was currently capable of.
Finally Izuku looked at Mineta who looked back at Izuku, there was a moment of silence before the smaller boy yelled out "THE DAMN DESIGNER SCREWED UP MY COSTUME. I WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BE WEARING A DAMN METAL DIAPER!"
Izuku nodded trying to comfort the other boy. "It's okay Mineta, in a few weeks we can go to the engineering department and see about some suit upgrades.
The diminutive boy sniffled as he tried to collect himself. "You're so lucky to have an actual; fashion designer design your hero suit." It looked like the boy wanted to say more but was interrupted when Iida called out.
"Hurry men, we don't want to keep All Might and the ladies waiting.
In the dark hallway, the guys met the girls as they left their own changing room. As they made their way to where All Might had told them to gather. As the light of day hit the group, Izuku could see his female classmates' costumes.
Urarakas costume was a skintight black and pink bodysuit, it came with a set of pink cuffs, pink knee-high, heeled boots and a pink helmet with translucent plexiglass that gave the girl a very space like theme. Izuku couldn't help but wonder if the girl was a fan of Thirteen. Izuku couldn't help but hear the girl mutter to Asui how the designer had screwed up and made her suit skin tight.
Asui's hero suit was a mostly green and black bodysuit with tan gloves that had large guards, thigh high black boots that had flippers on the bottom and a set of high quality goggles
Mina was wearing a lavender and green skintight bodysuit that had a camo pattern under a cropped, sleeveless, tan-colored waistcoat with white fur along the collar that was left open. The white mask and the beige and plum ballots completed the outfit.
Jiro's costume was a bit like Kaminari's in that it was something that wouldn't be out of place in a public setting. And now that Izuku thought if it both were probably made of materials that were sturdier than normal her hero costume was a black leather jacket over a long salmon-colored shirt that had several rips at the collar and hem, she wore black pants that matched the jacket, and boots with stereos built into their shafts. She also has two small, triangular red paint marks just below her eyes, a plain black choker, and white fingerless gloves completed the set. Izuku idly wondered if she and Kaminari had the same designer.
Izuku looked over at Yaoyorozu and if his body still had an actual heart, it would have skipped a few beats. She wore a small open red jacket over a black and silver top that went from her neck to just under her breast. At the bottom of each arm, was a blue oval jewel that shone brightly in the light. Beneath that she wore a pair of black bicycle shorts. On her feet were a pair of black ankle length boots that had a metallic plate covering the toe area. To complete the outfit, she wore a half cape held to her waist by a white cloth belt.
Izuku thought to himself "That costume looks very familiar."
Izuku heard Great Sage speak within him. "Momo Yaoyorozu's outfit is 90 percent similar to three characters of the Fate series of visual novels, anime and games.
Suddenly Izuku saw three animated characters appear in his mind. The first was of a white-haired, tan skinned man wearing a much more masculine version of the outfit after that were a pair of girls, one with the same tan skin and white hair color as the man but with bright yellow eyes. She wore a much more risque version of the costume that Yaoyorozu wore. The blonde girl with the red eyes next to her wore a version that was still more revealing than his classmates' outfit but not as much as the other girl. "I guess she took my advice on taking inspiration from fictional heroes "Izuku thought with some amusement.
On a hunch Izuku looked at his classmates' hands. He saw a roughness there that he recognized. He had seen it before on the hands of students at his martial arts academy. Whatever she had done to prepare for UA she had done a lot of it. Given what he had seen her do yesterday he was looking forward to seeing what she had learned.
Todoroki's hero suit comprised a dark blue sleeveless suit made of what looked like a very sturdy material that went up to her neck on the front was a silver emblem of a very pointed snowflake. Over that was a dark red sleeveless long coat that fell to her shins. When the girl had turned around to talk to one of her classmates Izuku had noticed an emblem of a flame in gold on her back.
Her arms were covered by a pair of unattached sleeves that ran from just under her shoulder to her wrist. The left sleeve was the same shade of red as the coat while the right sleeve was the dark blue of the suit. On her feet were a pair of dark blue military style clasped boots with the clasp being a dark red. Given what he had seen of her quirk the day before Izuku wondered if the suit was symbolic.
Finally, as the group came to a stop in front of All Might Izuku got a look at Hagakure. If Yaoyorozu would have made his heart skip a few beats, the girl he was looking at would have made it stop completely. Closing his eyes and putting his hands over them for good measure, Izuku stammered, "Ha-Ha-Hagakure! Why are you naked?"
Izuku heard some murmuring from the class and a "What the Fuck!" from Mineta before Asui spoke up. "Midoriya, what are you talking about? Hagakure is invisible."
Izuku calmed himself down and turned to where he had heard Asui's voice coming from, "No, no she's not, I could see her standing right there."
Izuku heard Yaoyorozu speak up. "How is it you can see Hagakure and the rest of us can't?"
Izuku thought about how to respond before he admitted. "Part of my quirk involves the ability to see outside the standard visual spectrum."
For a moment there was silence as everybody digested what Izuku had said, Hagakure figured it out first as there was an almost silent squeak followed by the sound of running. Followed by Uraraka calling out for her and another sound of feet running. Thinking that he was safe for the moment, Izuku opened his eyes.
Standing in front of him with a mild glare was Mina Ashido. "You covered your eyes once you noticed and let us know you could see Hagakure so you get a pass. But we had better never see you using that 'enhanced vision' on us"
Izuku was mildly offended, Sure he was a cis gendered, heterosexual male who enjoyed the sight of a pretty girl as much as the next guy. But he would never use his powers for that sort of thing. He shuddered to think about what the women he knew, most of all his mother, would do to him if he used his powers that way. Still Izuku understood that none of the girls in his class really knew him. So they wouldn't know that.
Izuku was about to speak in his own defense when Katsuki interjected. "Can it with the intimidation tactics Pinky! Slimer ain't the type, Never has been!"
"Kaachan" Izuku looked gratefully at his longtime best friend. The girls groused for a moment but nodded.
All Might, who had been standing by for the last couple of minutes watching the byplay, chose that moment to address the group, "Why don't we give young Hagakure and Uraraka some time to return before we continue." The resounding cries of "Yes Sir!" from the eighteen remaining students filled the air.
A few minutes later the two girls returned. Hagakure was wearing her gym uniform and when she looked in his direction blushed a deep red.
All Might walked over to her and in a gentle voice said "Young Hagakure if you wish we can postpone your part of today's session. No penalty will be given to you or anybody else that you would work with today. Afterwards we will go to the engineering department and see if they can make a costume for you that will work with your quirk. Then I will talk to Principal Nezu and we will see about having a discussion with the company that thinks that a pair of gloves and boots is in any way an appropriate costume." As the man finished speaking there was a decidedly frigid tone in the normally warm man that made all present grateful it wasn't directed at them.
Then suddenly as it appeared the tone vanished, and All Might continued with his lesson." As I stated earlier, today's lesson will be on the art of combat. And what better way to learn than by jumping in feet first."
The group of students stood there taking in their teacher's words, but the man continued on with his practiced speech as he pulled out a small box from behind his cape. "Today's exercise will be a team exercise. You will each pull out a slip of paper with a letter on it. You will be teamed up with whoever has the same letter." The group of students moved quickly to pick their letter.

As Izuku thought about the trials that had taken so far, he couldn't help but think how amazing his classmates and by extension their quirks were. While watching Urarakas and Todoroki's match against Sato and Sero, Izuku had wondered if Urarakas quirk could add more gravity to a target rather than remove it. The part of him that had grown up watching Shonen anime wondered if increasing a person's gravity would benefit in training. But he filed that away for later, along with his questions regarding the limit of Todoroki's fire and ice.
Currently Kaminari and Iida were facing off against Asui and Tokoyami and while Iidas and Asui's quirks were interesting, it was the quirks of the other two that really had his attention. Tokoyami's quirk Dar Shadow was apparently sentient like Great Sage. Just from the brief fight he had watched he could tell that Dark Shadow had a multitude of applications in combat and rescue. The only issue seemed to be that man and quirk didn't seem to get along too well.
"Great Sage, When was the last time I told you how much I appreciate you?"
"It has been one month, three days, four hours and fifteen minutes, Izuku Midoriya.
"I really appreciate you and will try to say it more."
Izuku's thoughts then turned to his blonde classmate, from what he had observed yesterday during the assessment test and today. Kaminari's quirk was more on the electro part of the electromagnetic spectrum that electricity based quirks fell into. His attempt at using his quirk to toss his ball during the ball throw had proved that he did have some ability in the magnetic aspect though. On paper Kaminari had an extremely powerful quirk. With only a few exceptions, most people's bodies relied on electrical signals for things like voluntary movement and even proper thought.
A high enough dosage of electricity could in theory stop anybody. Even All Might. The problem Izuku noticed was that unless he had some sort of focus like the ball from yesterday, it would just coat his body and spread out in all directions. Which made him as much a danger to his allies as it did to his enemies.
"Great Sage, After school I want to talk with you about some ways we can help Kaminari."
"Acknowledged, A list of ways to assist Denki Kaminari will be compiled."
Izuku was dragged from his thoughts by the sound of a bell and All Might declaring Iida and Asui the winners.
Izuku listened as All Might discussed with the class who the MVP of the match was. Yaoyorozu said that Iida who along with Asui had been part of the hero team had used his speed to disorient Kaminari and Tokoyami to great effect.
Katsuki on the other hand loudly thought otherwise. "What the heck are you talking about Ponytail? Bird nose had both Frogger and Four-eyes dead to rights. The only reason they lost was because Shocker's quirk made it impossible for them to work together!"
Personally Izuku agreed with his long-time friend. As far as he could tell neither Iida nor Asui had any quirk of biology that would make them immune to the effects of electricity and given the metal in Iidas legs. He might have been even more susceptible.
As he and Mineta started making their way towards the staging area Izuku was deep in thought. Hagakure had taken All Might's offer to delay her match, which meant that Koda's Mezu's and Kirishima's were waiting as well, which meant that the two of them were facing Yaoyorozu and Ashido. Depending on how much control the pink-skinned girl had over the nature of the acid she used and how creative she was she could make a very dangerous opponent.
Yaoyorozu on the other hand was a wild card. Intellectually he knew she could create things from her body. But he did not know what her limits were. "Obviously she had to pull the resources to create the things she does from somewhere. But where? And is there any limit to what she creates? There are too many unknowns right now. The best bet might be to limit their movements and visibility"
Izuku's thoughts were interrupted by Mineta's voice., "How lucky are we to be facing off against the sexiest girls in class!" The grin on the diminutive boy's face made Izuku cringe.
Izuku was quick to respond, "That's not important right now, What is important is that we come up with a workable plan to defend the bomb. Now tell me about your quirk. I saw you bounce off them yesterday. Is that all they can do?"
Mineta mumbled something that sounded like "It's important to me." before he looked at the taller boy and said "Pop Off lets me pull these balls off my head. If anything other than me touches them they stick to them. "
Izuku nodded, "What limits do they have?"
Mineta looked thoughtful for a moment before he replied, "Well a strong enough guy like All Might could probably pull them off or at least take whatever he was stuck to with him. That and the stickiness depends on how good a poop I had recently."
Izuku wrinkled his nose at that last statement. "I could have gone without hearing that last part." Mineta's quirk had a lot of possibilities for capture and detainment and if he could use those balls to bounce around, he could run circles around villains that might be more physically powerful than him or make his way to disaster victims before traditional first responders could even start. But those were thoughts for later now they needed a plan.
As the two heroes in training reached the building Izuku looked down at the smaller boy and smiled "Mineta, I have a plan."
From the room of the building, Izuku watched silently as Yaoyorozu and Ashido walked up to the building. He and Mineta had been very busy. If either of the girls managed to enter the building they would be in for a big surprise. It was his job to make sure they didn't even get that far.
Izuku smiled, it was time to play the villain and really ham it up.
Summoning two water balls, Izuku launched them at the girls who both managed to dodge. As they were looking around for where the shot came from he stood up and in a booming voice that filled the area said, "GREETINGS UA HEROINES, CONGRATULATIONS ON FINDING OUR HIDEOUT. BUT I PROMISE YOU WILL NEVER REACH THE WEAPON IN TIME!" As he looked down at them he put on a smirk that he had seen on Katsuki more than a few times.
Yaoyorozu seemed prepared as Izuku noticed a pair of wrist mounted devices on each arm that were now pointed at him. The release of a dozen tiny bolts told Izuku exactly what he was dealing with. Putting up a water barrier to catch the bolts, Izuku leapt off the building using the air to cushion his landing.
The moment his feet hit the ground Izuku launched forward aiming directly for Yaoyorozu "If they are going to attack me from a distance, I'll get in close and take the bolt launchers out of the equation."
Ashido must have figured out what he was doing because Izuku found his vision filled with pink and tie dye camouflage as she leapt in front of him and attempted a roundhouse kick that Izuku barely dodged before she used the momentum from the missed kick to combo into a second roundhouse that caught him in the side.
Izuku staggered for a moment before he caught himself. "Ashido seems to be the more dangerous combatant at close range." Izuku felt time slow to a crawl as Great Sage made its presence known. "May I offer assistance Izuku Midoriya?"
Izuku thought about it for a moment before he mentally shook his head "Not right now, this is a class and as much as I appreciate you, I don't want to become overly reliant on you to where I can't think for myself."
"Acknowledged,"
Just before things sped back up, Izuku considered what he was going to do next. Obviously as long as Ashido was in play he wasn't going to get anywhere near the dark-haired girl that meant he needed to immobilize her. That meant it was Spider time. Once he had tied up he could focus on Yaoyorozu and then use the capture tape to win.
Taking on the stance of the Spider Izuku beckoned for the horned girl to approach. Ashido took the bait and went for another roundhouse kick. Izuku blocked it with left hand and started to release his web from his fingers. When the yellow-eyed girl tried to follow up with a right rock, Izuku caught it with his left and attached a web to it as well.
With two of her limbs webbed up Izuku pulled hard, throwing the agile girl off her feet and on to the ground. He heard Yaoyorozu call out to her teammate behind him. Izuku was webbing up Ashido's arms and legs when he was forced to dodge a kunai.
He turned around and saw that Yaoyorozu had tossed her launchers to the ground and was now holding a pair of tactical knives. He was reminded of his training with master Camile when she pulled out her Sais. Izuku regretted he had never encountered a combat knife so he couldn't create his own, but he could do something.
Reaching into his mouth he called up his slime stomach and pulled out a PVC pipe. Yaoyorozu looked a bit shocked but hid it away quickly. For a few moments the two looked at each other, sizing each other up. It was only the widening of Yaoyorozu's eyes that told Izuku she was about to attack. Time seemed to slow to a crawl as Izuku dodged to the outside and brought his pipe up to swing at the back of her legs.
The taller girl leapt out of the way and once again the two fighters sized each other up. Izuku noticed that the girl's breathing was more labored than it had been at the beginning.
Looking for a weakness, Izuku thought about the exchange, "Yaoyorozu seems like she is comfortable up close and at a distance. Her quirk gives her a lot of options and I'm not sure of what limits she has. Maybe I can confuse her with a two front attack. Pepper her from a distance with 'Water Ball' while I attack her up close."
Concentrating on what he wanted, Izuku could feel the balls of water materialize in the air around Yaoyorozu and himself. Soon there were a dozen balls ready to go. Izuku internally grimaced "Without Great Sages assistance, it seems like 12 balls is my limit. I'll need to work on that."
Gripping his pipe in one hand while squeezing his other hand into a fist, Izuku watched as the balls started to fly. Yaoyorozu apparently had noticed the balls as she started to dodge out of the way of the balls, completely avoiding the first six before the seventh and eighth caught her on the side, leaving her open to the rest. As the girl staggered from the blows Izuku charged forward. Before Yaoyorozu could right herself Izuku hit her on one of her calves forcing her to fall to the ground. Izuku looked down at Yaoyorozu and said "You're really goo-"
What ever he was going to say next was interrupted as the air around suddenly turned black with smoke, and then as he prepared to blow it away he felt an impact against his crotch. Although he was resistant, to lower levels of pain. The shock of the impact, the realization of the location and the realization of how much pain he would have been in gave Izuku pause.
Yaoyorozu made good use of that pause and while Izuku was hunched over twisted into a roundhouse that caught Izuku in the face. As Izuku rolled to the side to right himself, he couldn't help but think "She's good, really good". With a wave of his hand Izuku cleared away the remaining smoke and took a wolf's stance. When he could see Yaoyorozu again, he saw she had a knife in one hand and a launcher on the other wrist.
Izuku answered in kind, He pulled another pipe from inside himself and made a finger gun out of his other hand to fire his 'Water Gun" from.
As the two stood there looking for an opening Izuku spoke up, "You know Yaoyorozu, You're really good, I'd like to take you on again sometime. No quirks, just hand to hand… or rather hand to knife."
The pony-tailed girl's eyes widened for a moment before responding, "I'd like that, my parents set me up with some of the best trainers in the world and you've been more than a challenge. I'd love to see how things would go without powers in the mix"
The fight was about to restart when suddenly All Might's voice boomed in their ears "The battle is over, the heroes win!
Both teens stood there shocked. What had just happened, how had the heroes won the scenario? Almost as one the two of them looked over to where Mina had been left. Izuku noted his webs had been melted and that the ground beneath them looked melted as well.
A Few Minutes Ago
As her two classmates went at it Mina Ashido immediately went about freeing herself. Her partner's interference had prevented Midoriya from using the capture tape on her. So even tied up as she was still in the fight. It had taken a bit to position her hand properly, but she was now melting the webs that held her. But she had to be careful, while she was resistant to the acids she created, this batch wasn't really meant to be touched by humans for extended periods of time. And if she wasn't careful would melt her clothes just as easily as the webs.
After a few more moments of work she was free and ran into the building, what she saw there gave her pause, "What the fuck!" she cried out, Up and down every corridor and surfaces she could see were webs like what had held her earlier and near every point where the webs met a surface was one or more purple balls. "Are you kidding me?!"
Running outside Mina started to look around the building. Buildings like this had fire escapes, "Maybe I can avoid most of that mess." After a minute she found one. As she made her way up the building, she looked inside. On the final floor she found what she was looking for. Standing guard in front of the bomb was Mineta.
Thankfully, because of the angle the window was at the ball haired boy had not yet noticed her. If she could climb in slowly, she might be able to reach the bomb before he noticed her. As she slowly opened the window trying to do so when the sounds of battle were at their loudest Mina noticed the window was a little small. It made her wonder if she could fit.
Mina had started to slip in head first when disaster struck. She was stuck, As she stretched to get a look back at what had happened she discovered that her rear end was stuck in the window she had climbed into. "Oh Fuck Me!" She cried before realizing she had said that out loud.
Instantly Mineta turned in her direction. Mina watched as his expression turned from one of surprise to one of lust as she saw his eyes drift downwards, telling her that he had gotten a good look at her cleavage.
"Shit, how am I going to get out of this one." for several moments her brain ran through ways to pull her butt out of the window and out of the fryer but couldn't come up with anything that wouldn't leave her vulnerable.
Suddenly he had an idea that made her cringe a bit even if it would work. Plastering a smile that didn't reach her eyes on her face she cooed with as coyness as she could muster "I seem to have gotten stuck Mini-poo, could you help unstick me?"
Mineta looked at Mina for several seconds before his smile widened as several thoughts that Mina was sure were perverted went through his head. Mina despite how much it made her cringe, prayed that his thoughts stayed that way and he didn't decide to use the capture tape they had been given to take her out of the exercise.
Heaven it seemed was on her side as the diminutive lad replied with a voice that was most likely meant to sound suave but just came off silly to Mina "Certainly, and after that we can talk about how you'll reward me."
Minas' skin crawled all over again as she smiled back and gave him one of her right hand "Of course, You'll get what you deserve."
Mineta either not sensing the danger he was in or not caring grabbed Mina's hand and pulled, At the same time Mina tried to wiggle her body in the window frame to try to get some forward momentum. As the pair worked together Mina found herself moving. After a few seconds of effort, her rear was free.
As soon as Mina could move properly she let go of Mineta's hand, causing him to fall to the ground before she rolled into an axe kick that caught him in the stomach. As the boy lay on the ground wheezing Mina ran over to the bomb, laying her hand on it.
Instantly Mina's ear was filled with All Might's booming voice declaring her and Yaoyorozu's victory.

As nobody had been seriously injured, the group of teens returned to the control room. All Might gave them a hearty welcome as he spoke to their classmates, "So what observations do you all have. Who was the MVP of this battle?"
There was a moment of silence before Iida raised his hand high and fast. When All Might acknowledged him the blue-haired boy spoke, "While I am sure that Midoriya was playing up his role as a villain, he should not have announced his presence. Moreover, He let his fight with Yaoyorozu prevent him from using the capture tape on Mina that would have removed her from the exercise. "
All might nodded, "Does anybody else have anything to add?"
Kaminari was the next to raise his hand "Mineta should have used his capture tape on Ashido when she was stuck in the window. If he had done that and Midoriya had kept Yaoyorozu from coming after the bomb herself, the villain team might have won. Honestly, if I had to pick an MVP I would say Ashido, She managed to complete the goal despite getting stuck."
The rest of the class looked at each other before they nodded in agreement.
Izuku, while he had heard what had been said and agreed with it, wasn't paying much attention. He was focused on the footage of the room the bomb was in. He didn't begrudge Mina having found a way around his and Mineta's defense. He had been stupid not to consider someone coming in from the windows and keeping it shut with a ball or web. And maybe if he hadn't gotten caught up in his fight with Yaoyorozu and had gone after her he might have been able to run out the clock, He was completely willing to admit that announcing his presence at the start had been a stupid move. But as he watched Mineta let his hormones get the best of him, let his penis do his thinking. Izuku felt himself grow warm with anger. "We are going to have to have a word."
Izuku soon got his chance as a loud beep soon filled the air and All Might looked at a watch attached to his glove. "Well kids, that's all the time I have for today, Your homeroom teacher will discuss your performances with you in more detail tomorrow. Hagakure, After school please meet me at the teacher's office and we will go talk to the engineering department. Until next time!" like lightning the man was running down the hall and was soon out of site. While other were discussing the spectacle Izuku found himself wondering where their teacher was running off to in a hurry.
As the rest of the class started to file out to get changed back into their uniforms Izuku put his hand on his classmates shoulder and said "Mineta we need to talk"
Mineta looked up and with more than a little nervousness in his voice asked "About what?"
Izuku tried to figure out the right way to word what he was about to say. If he came on too strong, then it might seem like he was bullying the smaller boy. If he was too weak in his delivery, his point wouldn't be made.
Taking a deep breath, he didn't really need to take, Izuku started "We need to talk about what happened. Why didn't you use the capture tape on Ashido when she was stuck in the window.? You could have knocked her out of the trial and then pulled her out."
Mineta looked apprehensive for several seconds before he nearly screamed, "Did you see those big pink puppies she was sporting? It was all I could do to keep from passing out when she was like that. I could see u-"
"Enough," Izuku interrupted, "Mineta enough, I get she is a beautiful girl, all the girls in our class are. I don't think there is a guy in our class that would disagree with that. But none of them acted the way you have over the last couple of days. Do you plan to date during our time here?"
Mineta could only nod so Izuku continued, "Well what are the odds of that happening when it gets around that you creep on the girls around you. Do you think that there is a girl in UA present or future that is going to want to be involved with someone with a rep like that? Speaking of reputation, What's going to happen when you graduate, If you start as a sidekick, a good agency is likely to check into your school performance and they will find out about how you were during school. No decent agency is going to want to deal with someone who is that much of a legal liability.
Now maybe you will open your own agency right after graduation. Aside from all the logistical problems with that, how are you going to draw sidekicks to work for you? With the reputation you are likely to develop you are not going to get the type of applicants you want and that is if you get any at all as nobody with two brain cells to rub together wants to be connected to someone whose name is going to become the wrong type of hashtag"
As he listened to the green-haired boy, Mineta had tears running down his face. "Wha-What do I do?"
Izuku softened his voice as he replied, "Well at the very least stop acting like a creep to every girl you meet. It would be better if you stopped thinking like that too but I get it will take time to change a mindset. If you want to improve your relationships with the girls in our class in general and Ashido in particular, you will need to apologize to her and promise to do better… and mean it."
As Mineta nodded Izuku closed his eyes as he considered what he was going to say next. "I have an offer for you, Right now you don't have any real offensive ability. Your quirk would make you great at containment, but you have nothing to give you an offensive edge should the need arise. If you show me that you are willing to change, I will do my best to help you get that edge. And who knows maybe you'll find a girl that is just perfect for you."
Somewhere in UA, a honey brown-haired girl sneezed.

Principal Nezu's office, UA High School, Musutafu Japan, April 12, 2220, 17:00
The of the day found Principal Nezu in a phone call with CostCorp, the company that UA had contracted with to design and create the Hero costumes for their students. All Might had informed him earlier in the afternoon about young Hagakure's issue and Nezu had set about contacting all involved. He had started with the CEO and members of the company's board of directors and had moved his way down until he had reached this point, Talking to the direct boss of the 'designer' of Toru Hagakure's 'costume'. To an outside observer that knew nothing of him, Nezu's voice came off as mildly pleasant. Anybody who had spent more than five minutes with him would have started saying their final prayers.
"So tell me Mr Taro, Are your designers in the habit of allowing young heroines to run around almost completely naked? Or was this just a lapse in judgment on the part of the designer… and the managers who approved it… and the fabricators that put it together."
The voice on the other end sounded shaken. "I-it was an m-mistake Principal Nezu sir."
"Oh, that's good, because I would be very put out if someone was doing such a thing intentionally. Now how are you going to make up for your subordinates' error? Your superiors have all assured me that every effort would be made on your part to fix the issue.
The voice on the other end of the line responded quickly "Sir, we will put a team of our best designers and engineers on it right away and make it our top priority!"
Nezu smiled a cold smile that didn't reach his eyes. "That's very good. You will send this team to UA tomorrow and you will work alongside our engineering department head and any member of his class that he deems appropriate. I expect that between the two groups you should make progress quickly."
The man stammered "Y-yes sir!"
"Very good, Have a good evening Mr Taro" Nezu didn't wait for the man to respond before he hung up. He had far better things to do than play nice with stupid monkeys like that man and his subordinates. A knock on his door indicated that one of those better things had arrived. A quick look at his planner told him that the person at the door was Kaina Tsutsumi. Likely to talk about one of the occasional public appearances she had to make.
With the press of another button, the door unlocked. Nezu smiled a genuine smile and said cheerfully. "Good afternoon Tsutsumi, What can I do for you this afternoon?

Izuku's room, Midoriya Residence, Musutafu Japan, April 12, 2220, 20:00
Izuku sat back in his chair, He had finished his homework a while ago and now he was thinking about how to help Kaminari and Mineta. Mineta's issue was easy enough to figure out. Despite the speed that his classmate was theoretically capable of, Mineta lacked any actual striking power. A weapon of some sort would do wonders for his classmate.
Kaminari had a similar issue, He had a very effective power but no proper way to channel it. Ideally a set of weapons for both close range and long range combat would be best but Izuku didn't really have the resources for anything long ranged at the moment. Someone like Yaoyorozu could probably create something that would work but at the moment Izuku wouldn't feel comfortable asking such a thing of her.
Suddenly Great Sages voice filled Izuku's mind "Based upon the available information regarding Denki Kaminari and Minoru Minetas quirks and the resources currently available to Izuku Midorya a blunt weapon such as a baseball bat would be optimal until proper support gear could be created by the UA engineering department.
Minoru Minetas bat would require little in the way of adjustment as Izuku Midoriya has several bats within storage. It is recommended that 'Degenerate' be used to add steels toughness to the bat to prevent damage from use."
Izuku nodded, That would definitely work. As would something like the gauntlets of his own hero costume. But he could suggest that to Mineta later on.
For Denki Kaminari, it is suggested that a bat imbued with Silver, and Steel would be advantageous. As with Minou Mineta the steel would provide toughness, while the silver would provide conductivity. "
Izuku could agree with that as well. Silver was one of the most conductive metals on earth, to the point where it was the benchmark on which all other metals were judged. He didn't have a ton of silver in his slime stomach but he should have enough for what he wanted to do.
Shall I remove the required items from storage and begin using 'Degenerate to alter them as stated?"
Izuku nodded "Go ahead"
The conversation was interrupted as there was a knock on Izuku's door and his dad's voice rang out. "Izuku buddy, dinner is almost ready, Your mom made beef fried rice. So go wash your hands, and remember you have school tomorrow so don't stay up too late tonight."
Izuku quickly replied. "Okay dad! I'll be out in a minute." While Izuku really didn't need to eat and hadn't for eleven years, he enjoyed doing so. He enjoyed the taste and the bonding with his family. The bit about staying up too late was a bit of a joke between Izuku and his parents as he had been sleeping for only an hour a night. While it did worry Izuku a bit despite Dr Uzuki's reassurances to the contrary, Izuku still put his faith in one of the women who had helped him become what he was. Putting that thought to the side, Izuku went to join his parents.

UA High School, Musutafu Japan, April 13, 2220, 7:45
From inside UA's gates Izuku watched as the press made fools of themselves, particularly the brunette woman who nearly lost her hand to the defense system. The way the reporters had been acting reminded Izuku of a report he had done on the legend of Jesus of Nazareth, specifically the part where the ancient Israelites had called out to Pontius Pilate to give them the criminal Barabbas. A part of him wondered if any of the other big name heroes had this sort of problem.
Endeavor definitely had a rather rabid following as did most of the other top ten heroes. Although from what he had heard Mirkos fans tended to not bother her… the smart ones, anyway. The dumber fans smartened up after a while. The chiming of a bell told Izuku that it was time to get to class.

Home Room found the Tsutsumi going over their performances in yesterday's battle trials with them. "Hagakure, during afternoon classes I am going to take you to the engineering department. Principal Nezu has arranged for a team of engineers to help create a hero suit that will work with your quirk. Once it is completed arrangements will be made for you and your group to take part in a battle trial of your own." a quartet of yes sensei echoed around the room and when Izuku looked at the invisible girl, he saw she was smiling widely.
Tsutsumi looked at Izuku, Mineta Yaoyorozu and Ashida. Last but not least, the four of you. Yaoyorozu, Midorya, your fight was impressive and a testament to your training prior to coming to UA. However you both got tunnel vision, leaving your partners to pick up the slack. Ashido, you did well in completing the mission but you need to improve your spatial awareness. Getting stuck like you did in an actual situation could lead to your death or worse.
Izuku noted Ashido looked a little shaken at what their teacher had said. "I hope she is all right."
Izuku turned to his last classmate as their teacher started speaking to him. Mineta had been looking more thoughtful than Izuku had seen him be during the few days they had been in class together and Izuku couldn't help but wonder if he had gotten through to the boy the day before.
"Mineta… while your part in setting up the trap in the building was good, your actions during the trial paint a poor picture. You need to control yourself before you get yourself, your teammates or those you are trying to save killed. During afternoon classes I want to have a private discussion to go more in depth about yesterday's trial."
Mineta looked a bit shaken but nodded before he opened his mouth, "Yes Ma'am but before that could I please address the class?"
Tsutsumi looked thoughtful for a moment before she replied "I'll allow it but be quick, there is something else that needs to be dealt with this morning."
Mineta nodded and made his way towards the front of the room, After a moment he bowed low and said "Y-yesterday someone made it clear to me how I was acting and what I have been doing is unacceptable. They talked about how the way I have been acting might affect my future as a hero and how it might hurt any relationships I have. But last night I thought about it a lot and I realized that if someone acted towards me without my consent the way I have been acting towards others including members of this class. I wouldn't be happy. So I apologize and hope for your forgiveness."
Elsewhere in UA the same honey-brown-haired girl sneezed.
Izuku looked at his mouth agape. He had hoped that Mineta would take his words to heart but he had no idea that the turnaround would be that quick. "Good on you Minoru Mineta."
There was an awkward silence as everybody else in the class processed what had just happened. Their teacher was the first to recover, "Thank you for that Mineta, I am sure your classmates appreciated it. Regardless, we still need to have that discussion so please take your seat. Mineta nodded and silently obeyed.
After he was seated the purple and pink haired woman continued. "Next order of business is something that will and won't have a profound effect on your future. Class officers."
As his classmates started reacting to the news and asking questions Izuku started to think. "Being Representative of your class in high school while a relatively minor thing could be important. After all, the better agencies often look at your school history and being Representative or vice representative showed that a prospect had leadership abilities. That leads to being trusted with more responsibilities and ultimately increases the chances of a sidekick being able to strike out on their own successfully."
Izuku's musing was stopped when Katsuki called out to him," Slimer! Pay attention, Four-eyes suggested we vote for officers democratically with the highest being Representative and the second highest being the vice representative. So grab a piece of paper and vote for me!"
Izuku smiled at his friend and wrote a name.
A few minutes later Izuku stood in front of the class alongside Yaoyorozu. He couldn't believe that things had turned out the way they had. Most of the class had predictably voted for themselves but when the votes had all been counted he and Yaoyorozu had tied at four votes each. Izuku had voted for himself and assumed that the heiress had done the same. But he had no idea who amongst his classmates had supplied the other six votes, though given that Iida had zero votes Izuku assumed that the tall boy had voted for one of them.
Their teacher smiled wryly as she said "I'll let you two decide how to handle this situation yourselves during lunch. But for now congratulations Mister and Madam Representative." The pair of teens blushed before the woman continued, "Let me get the rest of the class sorted and then I will tell you both about the privileges and responsibilities of your new roles."
—-
Later on during lunch, Izuku was thinking about what Tsutsumi had told him and Yaoyorozu. Members of the hero classes because of the requirements of their curriculum had little time for student government. If something needed to be voted on they would be informed and could vote remotely. Most of their duties were in regard to their own class. The class representative's primary job was to assist their teachers in managing the classroom. The vice representative's role was to assist the representative in their duties.
Izuku's thoughts returned to the present as he looked at Yaoyorozu, "So how do you want to handle this, we could have the class do another vote between the two of us. Or one of us could step down and let the other take the role. Or we could just share the representitiveship, after all most of our duties are related to our class and on the things we have to give a vote to the larger student council about, we can discuss it between us and then give our vote."
The raven haired beauty sitting across the table took a sip of tea and looked thoughtful for a moment before she replied. I would be fine with sharing the role. It might look odd on our transcripts when we look for positions at hero agencies, but we can say that the experience helped us learn how to work well with others of similar positions. Not unlike when agencies team up for large cases."
Izuku nodded in agreement. "When we return to class, this afternoon we can let Tsutsumi know of our decision." With the main point of conversation finished the two teens sat back and enjoyed the silence. To Izuku's left he heard boy from a different class talk about a new Idol that was having an event tomorrow. Izuku listened a bit closer, while he was no big fan of Idols or the culture that followed them. He would admit that in some ways heroes were a lot like Idols. In fact, every couple of years an Idol hero would debut. Mostly they focused on the Idol part of the equation and most never made it in the hero rankings beyond the top 1000. So he wondered if this Idol being discussed was one of those.
The other boy wasn't quiet about his opinions. "I can't believe I'm going to miss the Victoria concert tomorrow. Between those yellow eyes, the fangs and that blonde hair she's like a sexy vampire…. And if what I have heard about her quirk is true, that she is a literal vampire."
The female student with neon blue hair that he was talking to agreed. "No kidding, I wouldn't mind her sucking on my blood."
As he heard a high five Izuku stopped listening. While he had no issues with their conversation. He didn't feel like paying attention to it anymore.
All conversation ceased as a shrill alarm tore through the air and an announcement telling everyone to exit the building in an orderly fashion played on repeat. The reality was that the attempt by the students to exit the building was anything but orderly. And Izuku soon was pushed around by the students around him that were swiftly starting to panic. After barely dodging another elbow Izuku leapt into the air and used his powers to stand on the ceiling. Not bothering to be subtle about it he called to Great Sage. "Show me where my classmates and anybody who is in danger of being trampled is located."
Suddenly Izuku's vision was filled with multi-colored reticles, seeing that Yaoyorozu was right beneath him he shot out a web and yanked her up connecting the other end of the web to the ceiling. Soon she was joined by a blonde-haired girl with horns, Ashido and Jiro, a honey brown-haired girl, Kaminari and Kirishima and a boy who had a thought bubble for a head. Izuku was making his way to where Iida and Uraraka were located when suddenly Iida floated up into the air and engaged his engines. Izuku could only watch as his classmate spun uncontrollably through the air until he hit the wall on the other end of the hall with a force that made Izuku wince a little. After a moment, Iidas voice rang through the air. "Everyone, everything is fine! It's just the media! There is nothing to panic about! Everything is fine! This is UA, Let us act in a way befitting the best of the best!"
Izuku watched as the blue-haired boy's words impacted their fellow students. Izuku looked at Iida and had to admit, the boy may have been a little too high-strung but when he wanted to, he had a commanding presence that drew people's attention. Looking over at where Yaoyorozu was hanging their eyes met each other and the unspoken agreement that they needed to have another conversation passed between them.
—-
The conversation between the two teens had been quick and uncomplicated. While both of them agreed that Iidas actions had shown great leadership and one of them stepping down and letting Iida take the role was an option. It was not one that either of them considered fair to the people who had voted for them. After speaking with Tsutsumi who agreed both with the idea of the two teens sharing the role of class Representative and what they had suggested for Iida.
When class resumed, the pair stood in front of the class and once things had quieted down Izuku started speaking. "Yaoyorozu and I have a couple announcements. The first is that we have decided to share the Class Representative role for this school year." There was a bit of clapping and an expression of manliness from Kirishima before Yaoyorozu started speaking.
Finally, as recognition for his actions during the press break-in during lunch, we would like for Tenya Iida to take up the role as vice representative. We discussed it and Tsutsumi agrees he showed a calmness and presence that was sorely lacking during the crisis."
Iida sat there, a shocked look on his face before he stood up ramrod straight and said, "I would be honored to accept the role! I will do my best to be equal to the faith that you both have in me!"
Tsutsumi took that moment to say, "I'm sure you will, but if the three of you would have a seat, I have got my own announcements." As the trio sat down she continued." Because of the press break-in, afternoon classes have been turned into a study hall. The other faculty and I will be looking into what happened so I am going to be counting on Yaoyorozu, Midoriya and Iida to keep watch over you. "Their teacher looked at where Hagakure sat and said, You still have your appointment with the engineers so after I am done you can head on your way.'' Turning to Mineta she said," Our conversation is on hold, I won't be here tomorrow but we will meet in the morning the day after."
The ball headed boy merely nodded in acceptance of his teacher's words. Soon their teacher and classmate headed out, leaving the rest of the class to its devices. As many of the students started pulling out their homework, Izuku noticed Aoyama had a look of unease on his face. "I should go talk to him, see if everything is okay."
Mustering up his courage Izuku walked over to where the blonde boy sat and in a voice that only his classmate could hear." Aoyama, are you okay, you look a little off."
Aoyama looked at Izuku for a moment as if trying to figure out how to respond before he replied in a cheer that felt a little forced "Oui Monsieur le représentante. Something I ate during lunch has disagreed with me, but I assure you that it has done little to dampen my sparkle."
Izuku nodded, he wasn't sure if the other boy was telling the truth but they had only known each other for three days so he didn't want to push the issue." Okay but if you need anything just let me, Yaoyorozu or Iida know and we will see what we can do."
"Merci,"
Izuku then looked around for Mineta and Kaminari, now was as good a time as any to give them the bats that he had created. "Kaminari, Mineta could you both step outside the room with me for a moment?" At the curious look he received from Yaoyorozu and Iida, Izuku said, "Just a personal matter that needs to be discussed, nothing to worry about."
Iida looked like he wanted to say something but Yaoyorozu merely nodded. Izuku then followed his two classmates out the door. When it had slid shut Kaminari was the first to speak. "So what do you need Midoriya," Mineta nodded in agreement.
Izuku took a moment to form his thoughts before he said "Yesterday I was watching you fight and I noticed that without some sort of object to act as a conduit your electricity just coats your body and if allowed it spreads out in all directions. And I thought I could help with that so I used one of my abilities to create a weapon you can channel your power into." At the boy's shocked look Izuku opened his mouth and pulled out a long metal bat. "One of my abilities is to combine or disassemble things within my slime stomach. And amongst other things I had steel, an aluminum bat and silver. The result was something that is as tough and slightly less dense than steel with all the conductivity of silver. I admit it is a bit plain looking but I'm sure you can decorate it if you wish."
Kaminari looked shocked, Izuku wasn't sure if it was because the boy had just seen someone pull a bat out of their mouth or because of the gift. After a moment Kaminari found his voice. "Th-thanks man "As Kaminari took the bat into his hands it dropped a little showing that the bat had a good bit of weight. Izuku merely nodded before looking down at Mineta.
"Now I was going to hold off on giving you for a bit, but what you did this morning impressed me." Izuku pulled a second smaller bat from his mouth. Like the first it was plain looking, the only difference between the two was size. "With your bat I added a bit more steel than I put in Kaminari's. It is relatively speaking denser and heavier than his bat but I think that with the speed and momentum your quirk gives you, stopping villains should be a lot easier"
Izuku handed the bat to the smaller boy who nearly fell to the ground when he took on the full weight of the bat. After a moment Mineta regained his footing and put the bat over his shoulder with a bit of effort. Tears welled up in his eyes as he said "Thanks Midoriya." None of the three boys noticed that the camera that monitored the hallway they were standing in was focused on them.

Principal Nezu's office, UA High School, Musutafu Japan, April 13, 2220,
Nezu chuckled as he watched the events on his screen. Young Izuku Midoriya was proving to be quite a treat to observe. "I really must invite him for a chat soon."
Nezu's plotting was interrupted by a polite cough.
Nezu had the good grace to feign contriteness as he said "I'm sorry Kan, I noticed something on camera that required my attention for a moment."
Sekijiro Kan better known to the public as Vlad King merely nodded before he replied in his gruff voice, "You wanted to talk to me?"Nezu nodded, "Yes, unfortunately Tsutsumi will be unable to escort her students to the USJ. As such I wanted to ask if you would be willing to move your classes visit to tomorrow and escort class 1A as well as your own?
Kan grimaced for a moment as he considered the request, "40 kids? Even with Kurose and All Might that will be a tall order. Is there anybody who could come along to assist?"
Nezu considered the question for a moment before responding, "I had considered that and spoke to a third-year student about assisting you if you said yes. Would Nejire Hado be objectionable."
Kan thought about it for a moment, "She's the girl with the long blue hair that has her work study with Ryukyu right?"
"Correct, but Ryukyu is out of the country this week so Miss Hados schedule is wide open.
Kan gave it another minute as he tried to think if there was any reason to object to the girls' inclusion as a teacher's aid. Finding nothing, he replied, "Okay I'll do it and I'll take Hado as well."
"Nezu smiled, "Wonderful, now why don't I call Miss Hado up here and provide the two of you with the dossiers and the footage from 1A's battle trial so that you two have an idea of what you are stepping into."

Parking Lot, UA High School, Musutafu Japan, April 13, 2220, 12:50
The students of class 1A were a bit surprised when they arrived at class to find Principal Nezu at the front of their room, they had known that they would have a substitute but had not expected it to be their furry leader. He had gone through all the standard morning announcements before informing them that they would be joining their sister class 1B in their training that afternoon.
That had surprised Izuku, intellectually he knew that there was a second hero course, he had even seen some students from that class during lunch. But he had hardly expected to have training with them this early in the year
When the class arrived at the parking lot, as instructed they were greeted by the students of class 1B, the primary teacher for that class Vlad King and a slightly older girl with blue hair. Izuku looked at his classmates noting that Hagakure was wearing a gym uniform, Aoyama looked a bit apprehensive and that both Mineta and Kaminari were carrying their bats with them in back mounted bat bags. With a nod to Yaoyorozu and Iida, Izuku spoke to their teacher. "Class 1A reporting in Kan-sensei."
Kan nodded in approval "Good man, Now the reason you are meeting down here today is that today's training is away from the main campus. It is a bit of a drive so we are going to be taking buses to get there." at this he pointed to the pair of buses behind him before he gestured to the blue-haired girl. "Miss Hado will be helping me with all of you. Treat her with the same respect you would treat me or your normal teacher."
A chorus of "Yes Sir," filled the area.
The teacher was about to speak before the blue-haired girl that they now knew as Nejire Hado spoke. Heya, I've read up about all of you" she ran over to Izuku getting entirely too close to his face before she asked "Is it true you're a slime?" Before Izuku could form a response, the girl had already moved over to Mineta, getting so close that Izuku could see that it was taking visible effort on the smaller boy's part to keep his mouth shut. "Mineta what are your balls made of?" Mineta's brain seemed to freeze as the girl moved on to Asui "You're like a frog right? But are you like a tree frog or a gross, slimy toad?"
Before she could continue, Kans voice boomed out. "Hado! Talk to them later, we have got to get going. Now it might be a good idea for the two classes to get to know each other so keep that in mind when you pick a bus."
—-
Mineta sat quietly, he had nearly lost it when that blue-haired hottie Hado had gotten so close to him, but had managed to keep his mouth shut. Midoriya had been right about what he had said the other day. He had meant what he had said yesterday, and he was going to do his best not to disappoint Izuku and more importantly himself. It was that mindset that made what happened next even more ironic.
Besides himself, Kaminari, Tokoyami and Sato had chosen to ride on a bus mostly made up of 1B students. At some point the conversation had turned a bit philosophical and Tokoyami had said "The path of a hero is a long hard one."
It had been instinct, It had just slipped out before Mineta could catch himself but it had come, "That's what she said."
What surprised Mineta and the other members of his class was that he wasn't the only one who had said it. The four boys looked at the honey brown-haired girl who had spoken and in the background Mineta heard mutterings of "Great now there's two of them." And "Damn it Komori."
—-
As the assembled group walked into the building's interior, Izuku couldn't help but marvel. As massive as the building seemed from outside, it felt much bigger on the inside. They had been greeted upon arrival by the rescue hero Thirteen, Uraraka as it turned out was a huge fan and her excitement at meeting one of her idols had carried over to the group. Izuku was a little sad that All Might was going to be delayed today, but that was overshadowed by his excitement over what they were about to learn.
Thirteen was talking about how they were going to use their powers to save people and how dangerous they could be when Great Sage spoke up that later on Izuku would swore bordered on panicked. Multiple spatial distortions detected! Multiple additional life signs detected,!"
Everywhere Izuku looked he saw reticules. There were only a few purple reticules each located in one of the USJ zones but there were dozens of red reticules and more were showing up. Suddenly the air near the fountain at the bottom of the stairs started to distort and another purple reticule appeared. Suddenly an inky darkness filled the area and a gangly figure with cyan hair and what looked like hands all over his face and body walked out followed by a small army each of which had their own red reticule. But it was the largest member of that group. A massive muscle bound figure with what looked like a metallic beak and an exposed brain. That really caught Izuku's eye. Its reticule was black.
"As we stood there not having any idea what was going on. We were ignorant to what was being set in motion. Of the war that we would find ourselves stuck in the middle of. This was just the beginning.
A/N: Wow it's been a while. Sorry about that, but shit happens and there was nothing to be done about it. That said this chapter was a little rough as it went through part of my editing process. That said when the editing finishes I will replace this version with the cleaner one.
Two last bits of fanfic news. Kingdom Hearts: (Re) Destiny chapter 3 will be coming some time in the same week that this chapter is released.
Meanwhile My Lyrical Academia chapter 2 is around 50 percent done. Not going to give a concrete date. (As to not look like a jackass when I miss my self created deadline.)
Now on to some sadness. As I am sure you are all aware, Akira Toriyama passed almost three months ago (at the time I am writing this.) When I found out, much like others of my generation who grew up watching Dragonball Z in the late 90s and early 2000s, I was hit hard. These days people are spoiled for choice when it comes to anime, but back in the day DBZ, Sailor Moon, Inuyasha, Pokemon and Digimon were almost all we had.
And in the Shonen circle, DBZ was transformative. I can say with my full chest that if there was non DBZ, then there would be no MHA, no Naruto, no Bleach etc. and none of the fanfic that has sprung from those series would exist.
The Dragonball franchise may have had its issues over the years,(for a series that has lasted this long that is a given.) but its effect upon the anime community can not be denied. (and I will gladly die on that particular hill.)
There is quite a fanfic I read once that really sums up my feelings on the matter.
"Those who go to their deaths with their heads held high and the world better for their assistance. Need never fear death, for they are immortal."
So farewell Toriyama-sensei. May your journey into the beyond bring you as much joy as you brought your fans.
