Monsters and Magic

(Author's Notes: Hi everyone! How are you all doing? Thank you for the reviews! I am kinda sad that certain reviewers like ReginaDC21 and such have not left any reviews as of late. Oh well… hopefully, they and others will return to read and review! I am very satisfied though with the loyal reviewers that have been keeping up with each chapter.
In this chapter, Godzilla and the other monsters get a taste of what it is like to enter a city welcomed rather then repulsed. The former titans are still adjusting to being welcomed rather then hated, so expect some surprises here and there. But in a good way! Also… Maleficent and her forces are closing in on Atlantica, and will be facing the forces of King Triton and his royal armies! Let us hope that King Triton can protect his city from four beasts that are truly larger and more terrifying then any monster that roams the Disney universe! And also, expect some of the future chapters to get dark from here. Not angst-like dark, but when evil descends on the land and sea dark!
I do not own Godzilla or any of the monsters by Toho, nor do I own the characters from Disney. I do however own my own OC creations, and the songs I have been putting up for now. Now… on with the novel!)
Chapter 17
The sun was rising on a new day for the kingdom of Sennen, England. The sounds of nature filled the air, the birds chirping as they greeted the beautiful, golden orb that rose into the heavens. However, there was something different then normal here in the land. The village was not bustling as per the norm, and also the castle that belonged to Eric and Ariel Marcel was also dormant. No servants were going to and fro with their usual activities, all of the occupants were still asleep in their beds. And in the courtyard, in front of the small but grand palace, were the four titans from another universe. Godzilla was sitting on his haunches, his eyes closed and his breathing steady. Anguirus was sprawled on the courtyard floor, Rodan standing straight as his wings were folded around him like a bat. Mothra was breathing steadily as she slept like a log, looking a bit like one too, near the King of the Monsters. It seemed that everyone in the kingdom was still asleep, and who could blame them? Most of them had stayed up well past midnight to celebrate Melody's 13th birthday party last night.
Said princess was just waking up now, the black-haired daughter of Ariel yawning softly as she rose from her soft bed. She rubbed some sleep dust that was in her eyes, opening them a little and showing to all that both blue eyes looked a little bloodshot. She mumbled as she rose, "That… was one party… I'll never forget…". Though sleepy, tired and a bit sore from last night's activities, she carefully made her way around and through her friends that were sleeping in their sleeping bags. Kathrin, Tracy, and Dianne were still in dreamland as Melody tip-toed carefully around them. She went to the washroom to clean herself up, taking care not to wake her friends as she closed the door. Once the room was secure, she first went to the sink to wash her face. Turning on the water, the princess splashed her face to wake herself a little, which did the trick since the water was ice-cold.
She looked into the mirror, and saw that her face and hair were a bit of a nightmare. She thought, 'I still can't believe what happened last night, and also what I had to endure after officially introducing the monsters to everyone.'. The princess remembered the events clearly in her head as she turned around to get the bathtub ready.
~Flashback~
Shortly after singing her song dedicated to her human and monster friends, Melody was guided away from her friends by her mother and father as they wanted to introduce her to some of the local lords and their ladies. The brunette beauty knew these particular families, and very glad that they were not like the Foldings or Manchesters. One of them, a lank but strong-looking gentleman who wore elegant but not flashy and/or loud clothing shook her hand and inquired, "It is good to see you, Princess Melody. And congratulations on turning thirteen years of age! I do confess though, I am more then a bit surprised on how this party took a turn then what I expected.". His lady, a beautiful blonde that was close to Ariel's age, added in that she too was expecting perhaps a performance of professional dancers and such… not a hostage situation and also seeing beasts that defy even the most wildest of imaginations.
Melody put on a nervous smile and replied, "I'm sorry about that. Believe me, the bandits took us by surprise too. But, it's still a relief to me that everyone here has accepted Godzilla and the others. You can't imagine what me and my friends went through to ensure that they received a good welcome.". The lord's wife asked on what the monsters were like, and also on how they managed to come to the kingdom. Princess Marcel had to recap what the Twin Fairies told them some time ago, and needless to say, the nobles and their wives were more then a little surprised to hear about the world Godzilla and his companions came from. Melody also told them on how the monsters and the mystical beings got here, and that is one of the lords interrupted. He inquired on the fates of the four other monsters that were summoned to this world with the others.
The princess answered, "Sorry, but neither me or the Twin Fairies know what happened to them. When the twins used their magic to cut off the summoning spell that was bringing them here, the magic that was in the spell dropped only to them, Mothra, Godzilla, Anguirus, and Rodan. The other monsters were still in the summoning spell, and they did not see where they went.". The humans were a little concerned from hearing the news, and some started to wonder if the monsters were still alive and if so… where? Luckily, Ariel and Eric calmed their fears and told them to just put the worrisome thoughts in the back of their minds for now. Melody then heard some cries coming from the children, and the princess excused herself before she quickly ran to where the cries were coming from. Going through some of the guests, she looked on to see that the cries were actually cries of delight. Melody sighed in relief, and actually giggled a little as she saw the little ones climbing and playing with the monsters. The cries she heard earlier were from two seven year-olds who were being sent back a bit by a blast of small wind from Rodan's flapping wings.
The little ones were studying, playing and getting in close with the former titans from Tokyo. Mothra was shooting some of her webbing at some trees at the edge of the courtyard to make a makeshift trampoline of sort, the Twin Fairies on her and making sure that the little ones stood back while she shot her white silk. Rodan was flapping his wings lightly, sending the children across the smooth floor of the courtyard, the little ones shrieking in delight at the blast of wind. Luckily for everyone, no one was seriously hurt. Anguirus was letting the small boys and girls touch and pet him, shaking slightly due to when they touched a sensitive spot of skin on his neck or face. And Godzilla… well, he was being used as a jungle gym. The little ones, and some brave pre-teens, were trying to climb up his back, using the King of the Monster's dorsal spines as a kind of holding set. The children like Regina, were being a bit more bold and tried to climb up using his legs. Given that his skin did resemble the bark of an ancient, powerful tree, the pebbled skin did act as a rough surface so the tiny human hands could get more of a better grip. Godzilla was a little annoyed these humans touching him and such, but that was it. Amazingly, if anyone could read his mind… he did not mind one bit of the children playing on him! The psychic from Godzilla's universe, Miki, would most likely have a near heart attack if she saw and felt the saurian's mind.
Melody sighed, then giggled as the large mutated former dinosaur wiggled a little, sending the children and pre-teens tumbling down. Fortunately for them, the landing was a nothing serious so no one was hurt. Regina laughed as she called out, "That was fun, Godzilla! Do it again!". She then went back to him, huffing as she tried to get a good hold of his leg. The princess saw that everything was good here, and was about to leave when she saw that by her side was Tracy and Kathrin. It seemed that the two lovely ladies were also a bit bored by the social interaction with the nobles of the land, and while they were polite and everything, the royal girls just felt more at home now around either their parents or the monsters. Princess Charming then held up a glass of punch, some that amazingly survived the fight against the bandits. Melody gratefully accepted the cool drink, and gulped it down quick, savoring the fruity, zesty taste that was now on her tongue and making its way to the rest of her body.
"Melody, I have to say… if all of your birthday parties are going to be like this from now on, please invite me in advance!" Tracy said as the three looked on at the kids just interacting and trusting the monsters with their very beings, and the former titans and destroyers of cities were actually enjoying the positive emotions and actions flowing from the humans. Even the adults started, bit by bit, to give the monsters their trust. Kathrin added that she would like to attend more of Melody's birthday parties in the future as well. The three princesses then heard a clang from nearby, and they plus some of the guests, were seeing Jackson Dashboard dragging a wailing and yelling William Dashboard into the castle. Melody winced a little, knowing that Captain Dashboard was going to just come down like a hammer of discipline on his son.
"It seems that the captain is going to scold his son, or more. I cannot say I blame him though. Will's actions could have been very costly for all of us." Kathrin stated softly, and no one could say they did not agree with her. Will's actions earlier that night would has indeed cost the royals and everyone else something dear to them. The two relaxed a little as they started to just sit at a table, and it lasted for about fifteen minutes when Grimsby came down and announced that now was the time to open the presents. Melody sighed, and gave a little smile when she saw that some of the presents were still intact. The rest were damaged by fight earlier with the bandits and Shadowsneak. The princess knew that this night was going to last a good long while…
~End flashback~
While she was coming back out of her memories, Melody realized that she had been in the bath for about thirty-five minutes now. She got out, opened the drain to let the water out, and wrapped a fluffy white towel around her waist as she dried off. 'I must admit, some of those presents that survived were really good. Some, a little stunning. And some… some so bizarre I was wondering if they got them from a certified crazy person.' she thought. The daughter of Ariel and Eric had received some dresses that one of the nobles stated was the latest fashion in Paris. While Belle, Aurora, and Cinderella came from said country, they mothers knew that those kinds of clothes may have been the latest of fashion… but not the most sane of them. Fortunately for Melody, she was not required to put them on for all to see. She knew that if she went in, changed and put on the bizarre outfits and accessories, most of the guests would have died laughing. And she assumed that Godzilla and the others would wonder on what happened to her. Said fashion dresses were currently now in her closet, where she swore they would never see the light of day.
When Melody was dried off suitably enough, she put on a yellow robe, fixed her hair a little, and exited the washroom. She found that her friends were still sleeping, her female friends all still in the land of dreams. Sighing but in a good way, she tip-toed around them and made her way to her closet to get some decent clothes on. When she passed by her night stand, she saw a familiar necklace on it. It was the beautiful onyx necklace that Oliver Oxen had given to her last night, the lioness shape attached on said necklace still having a mysterious sheen to it. The princess took the necklace off the stand slowly, and gazed upon the lioness fixture as she remembered what happened after receiving the gift from the African lad who had saved her from Will and his cronies some days ago. She blushed brightly upon remembering the kiss, and shook her head a little to clear it. "I'll think on that later. Right now, I want to get dressed and see if outside is still a mess." she said to herself before she put on the necklace and going into the closet.
In a few moments, Melody emerged from the closet wearing a simple baby blue dress that matched her eyes quite well. Making sure to not wake her friends, she left the room and quietly closed the door. She looked around and saw that everything was quiet, that no one else was up. The hallways and corridors were still a mess, some streamers and such festive decorations scattered here and there while cups and dishes were still on some tables. "Wow… last night took a lot out of everybody." she whispered as she made her way across the hall and down the stairs. The servants were still asleep in their quarters, Grimsby and Carlotta still snoring lightly in their own beds, and also Chef Louie was knocked out, nowhere near his precious kitchen. The princess knew that later on in the day, she and the others would help the adults and servants in cleaning up the palace. But for now, she wanted to if outside was also a mess. Going through the front door and to the courtyard, she indeed saw that the grounds were still a mess. Drinks, tables (both that were smashed to pieces and still intact), tables, and also some stands were still there. And among the debris were the monsters, Godzilla standing out among them all.
Melody smiled warmly, seeing her monstrous friend sleeping here rather then at Sanctuary was a relief to her that filled her heart. It showed that all of their planning, actions, and risks were all worth it to have their friends being accepted by the people. And also seeing last night that the positive emotions and such from the humans were changing the monsters inside, and in a good way. She was about to say something when she heard the familiar call of "MELODY!". Looking up, she sighed and gave a little shake of her head because approaching from the sky was Scuttle himself! The seabird had made himself a little scarce after being introduced to the monsters, but it seemed that he had returned. The wacky seagull flew down, his face locked onto Melody's and landing down on automatic instinct. Little did he realize that he landed right on Godzilla's snout, landing right directly between the eyes! He waved enthuastically towards his friend, and Melody asked on what he was doing here.
Scuttle answered in his usual loud voice, "I came by to see how things went, since yesterday was your birthday party. And wow! I have to say, that was one swinging party you all had here! Everything is still a bit of a mess. Going to take a long time to clean up I bet!". Melody was shushing him with some gestures, trying to silence him or make him come down so he could continue talking, but in a softer tone. Scuttle did seem to pay attention to her, doing some wild gestures and saying that he bet her birthday party was some kind of wild thing. He did not know that his loud voice and movement were starting to irritate a certain King of the Monsters. Godzilla's eyelids started to move a little, showing movement of the eyeball. Then when Scuttle let out a loud laugh… Godzilla's eyes opened wide and quick, some lighting flashing in those powerful brown orbs of his! It looked exactly how he woke up after being dropped in the sea back in his own universe by Mecha-King Ghidorah.
Scuttle called out, "Hey Melody! I heard from some of my feathery friends that those huge monsters that are hiding in that little part of the beach near your home tangled with some large land creatures! Tell me, what happened? Who won?". He then felt the ground beneath him shift a little, and felt some hot steam coming on his tail feathers. He turned around to see what was up… and he found himself staring into the eyes of one ticked off saurian, the brown eyes drilling into his very being. Scuttle gulped, the sea bird knowing that he had just woken someone up from his beauty rest, and that someone was sizing him up to see if he would rather be squashed between his claws or gulped down between his huge teeth. Godzilla growled softly, wanting this annoying pest to be quiet and off his face. Melody palmed her face, seeing that her wacky friend had once again just got himself in a sticky situation.
The feathery friend of Ariel and Melody slowly walked off from Godzilla's face, his wing appendages out like hands as he tried to calm down the monster somehow. He said, "H-Hi… it's been… gulp… a long while, eh big boy? I-I see you're looking… green as ever…". It seemed that Scuttle was trying to placate the large saurian, but it seemed his efforts were in vain when Godzilla lowered his head and let out a huge snort. The blast of hot air from his nostrils sent Scuttle blasting off from his snout, the bird squawking in surprise and a bit of pain upon impact on the ground! He landed in front of Melody, the princess shaking her head as she saw Scuttle looking dazed and confused. Godzilla shook his head, his muscle rippling a little as he shook off the stiffness from his neck and head. The sea bird looked up, a bit peeved at the King of the Monster's actions and asked out loud on where it learned his manners.
Melody said, "Scuttle, it was you that woke him up from a deep sleep. And please, be quiet for now. Everyone else in the castle is still asleep, and they need their rest.". The crazy but loveable seagull nodded his head, whispering that he would try to stay quiet. Then he asked on what happened since he last saw them, and the princess told him everything on what had occurred since his last visit. Needless to say, after she was done with her tale, the sea bird had more respect for the monsters, especially Godzilla when Melody stated that he saved two children from the bears. The daughter of Ariel then asked Scuttle if anything was happening out at sea, if he had seen any of merpeople out there. The answer that he gave her startled her, giving a chill to her spirit that she could not quite put her finger on.
Scuttle answered, "Well, there have been some strange things going out in the big blue sea out there. Most of my fellow seagulls and sea birds are flying away fast from a certain part of the ocean, saying that something in the water is scaring them away. They're too spooked to find out what it is exactly, and I don't blame them. I mean, even I'm getting the willies on what I sensed out there! I saw some dolphins, fish, and even some sharks fleeing like the ultimate fisherman was after them or something!". Melody was now wondering on what could be scaring the animals, and also what exactly could it be. She knew that sharks were the top predators in the food chain, and her experience against Undertow, the tiger hench-shark of Morgana, was proof of that. So she was wondering on what could be so strong and powerful to scare away such strong creatures. She was so into her own thinking that she was a little surprised to feel something nudging her. She looked up to see that it was Godzilla, nudging at her gently with his claw. She looked up, and saw what could be labeled as concern in the saurian's eyes.
She smiled weakly and said, "Oh, sorry Godzilla. I was just thinking a little…". She then eeped when Godzilla picked her up by her back collar, and gently put her on his left shoulder. Melody was now trying to steady her heart, the sudden action of the King of the Monsters lifting her up and putting her on his left shoulder a bit too quick her. Once her heart was settled, she was going to ask what was going on when Godzilla's head turned to his left and focused on the open sea before them. Melody then felt Godzilla's breathing becoming more steady, slow… and she could literally feel his spirit sort of pulse out from him as he turned on his sixth sense. The princess's breath caught in her throat, feeling a very unusual power coming from her friend, and for a moment, she felt many spirits nearby before the feeling left. Unknown to the former mermaid, Melody had just got a glimpse of what it was like to have Godzilla's incredible sixth sense. She felt a little dizzy for a moment, held onto the side of Godzilla's head to steady herself, then started to look out where he was looking at. It seemed that the green-skinned beast wanted his human bonded to get a taste of his unique ability, and also see if she too was capable of sensing danger and such like he could.
The two were now staring at the ocean, the sun rising behind them as it reached a part of the sky where their shadows showed on the ground. Melody was thinking, 'What is it that Godzilla and Scuttle sense, but I can't? And what was that feeling a little while ago?". It seemed the two were like that for some time until they heard a voice calling their names. Coming back from their little trance, Godzilla and Melody looked down to see Ariel with Scuttle by her side. The redhead beauty was dressed in a hot pink robe, and having a look of curiosity on her face as she looked at the two. It seemed that Ariel had woken up some time ago, had seen them from her window, and had come out to investigate. She had two things going through her mind when she came out to see her daughter and her massive friend. One, she was wondering on what they were doing, looking at the sea for so long. And two… she thought it was adorable, seeing her flesh and blood bonding so well with a creature from another universe. To her, it was a moment that deserved to be captured and put in a painting.
Ariel called out, "Melody! Godzilla! Is everything alright?".
Melody answered back, "We're fine, Mother! We're just… taking a good view of the ocean! Yeah, that's right!". The former mermaid and youngest daughter of King Triton was not convinced by her answer one hundred percent, but she bought it all the same.
The beautiful wife of Eric Marcel then exclaimed, "I see! Melody, I believe you need to come off Godzilla's shoulder and come inside! We got some people to wake up, and some serious cleaning to do before we can enjoy the rest of the day!". Melody sighed, knowing that this was coming, and now she and the others were going to do some heavy-duty cleaning to get the place all spic and span. She asked Godzilla to put her down, and he did was great care. When both feet were on the ground, she went to her mother and that is when Scuttle flew off. He said that he was going to cruise around the kingdom's airspace for a while before heading out, and with that he flew off. The saurian saw him take off, and wondered if his bonded wouldn't mind if he fried the pesky air creature with his radiation blue fire.
~Inside the castle~
Fifteen minutes after Ariel had gotten Melody from Godzilla, the two royal women had completed the task of waking the others from their slumber. Also, Ariel had taken the time to get dressed in something more presentable then a robe. Now, everyone was downstairs in the main foyer and dining room, cleaning up the mess and helping the now-awakened servants take down the decorations and such. Mainard and Edgard were the first to voice their dissatisfaction at cleaning first thing in the morning, and at a guests house too. However, some simple glares from their parents got them to be quiet and to help out with the cleaning. Chef Louie, when he finally woke up, stated that breakfast would be served just as soon as everything was spic and span. Needless to say, the promise of food was more then enough incentive to have the boys hurry in their work now. The royals and servants were also treated to the sight they saw from the large windows that showed them the courtyard. Godzilla and the monsters, who were now fully awake, were puzzled when they saw some lawn caretakers and servants cleaning up the mess. Anguirus and Godzilla saw two servants sweeping up the broken tables, cups, and such that were still on the ground. When one of the helping hands sarcastically told the former titans to be of some use and help out… they got their wish when both used their tails to sweep up the mess quickly! Not to mention hitting and flinging the hired help into some bushes ahead of them.
One of the workers glared at her compatriot who made the snide remark to the monsters and exclaimed, "Next time, please… PLEASE keep comments to yourself!". Anguirus and Godzilla found the situation amusing, and both started to use their tails to sweep the debris away. Or more precisely, to the edge of the courtyard and into one pile, actually saving the servants some time. Rodan also seemed to help out, using his beak to reach some decorations and other misc. trash that were thrown up there by some of the more wild party guests. The servants directed him to where he needed to be and pointed to where some trash was at where they could not get at. The giant pteranodon knew that what he picked out was not meant to eat, so when he got the stuff in his beak, he was quick to throw it to the ground. Some of the hired help thanked God that none of the cups that were in the trees had liquor in them… some saw what liquor did to people, and who knew what the tipsy drink would do to a monster? Especially one who flew close to breaking the sound barrier. Mothra also aided them, she and the Twin Fairies webbing the trash that was heaped up in a pile. Since there was a short supply of garbage bags, the giant worm used her silk to web up the messy spots where the servants gathered up the trash. The Twin Fairies assured the people that Mothra's webbing was very strong, more durable then metal and quite flexible. The theory was put to the test when one of the strongmen lifted the make-shift silk bag, and lo and behold, it held good and tight! The servants clapped for the fairies and their retainer, giving the three their dues. Mothra squeaked out a thank you, and the Twin Fairies did a little bow to them.
Dianne smiled at the scene and stated, "You know, I'm glad that the others are seeing Godzilla and the others as friends, companions. Not just something as intelligent pets.". The royal kids and adults agreed with her, and that is when Ariel remembered something from yesterday. She was so caught up in the excitement of Melody's birthday and the monsters, she forgot about some important news.
Ariel turned to Eric and said, "Oh, that reminds me! Eric, I got a letter from Michelle Blank yesterday. It's about Max!". A day before when Eric's guests arrived from overseas, his faithful and large dog Max was feeling and looking sick. When they called up the doctors from the village, they informed the royal family that their canine companion had contracted a rare but not deadly virus. While not contagious, if not treated right… Max would have most of his senses disabled for life. Though they could not cure it, they told Eric and the family on who could cure Max. Her name was Michelle Blank, a woman who worked wonders on animals, be they domesticated or not. They were pretty confident that she could help Max get back on his feet. Unfortunately, she lived about a day and a half's journey from the castle, at the countryside in a small abode. And since Eric and Ariel needed to stay here to prepare the castle for the incoming guests, they had little to no choice but to entrust the four-legged member of the family to the hired hands. The three gave Max rubs and pets of encouragement and love, before putting him in a special carriage. Eric gave the driver a note to deliver to Michelle when he got there, and the driver nodded his head before taking off from the castle!
The Marcel king was now nervous as Ariel went to a nearby drawer, opened it up and took out a large piece of paper. He took the letter, and now everyone was around him. The royal guests were hoping that their host and friend read good news, as were the servants who had stopped also to hear the news. Eric read the contents, then gave a sigh of relief. He then read out loud:
Dear King Eric Marcel,
I have good news for you! Your family member, Max, is on the road to complete recovery! You and your family got him to my estate and care just in time. Thanks in part to the herbal medicine I have given him, he will be back in full health soon! All of his senses are intact and are recovering at a good pace. I will need to keep him for several more days, to get his strength back up to full force before having him return to you. Max here is eager to come back home, but I need to make sure that all of his muscles and other physical functions are back up to full strength. Again, glad to give you the good news!

Melody and Ariel were quite glad with the news, giving off a huge sigh of relief. Eric smiled and chuckled in said relief, glad that is old friend was okay and on his way to recovery. The servants were also glad, giving their congratulations to the royal family. His friends also showed their gladness with pats on the back, very glad to hear good news. The prince said, "Thanks everyone. Now that I know that Max will be back in our soon, I think we need to figure out a way to introduce him to our friends without him thinking we replaced him.". He did have a point there. Max was friendly, but also protective of his family. It would have been bad news for all to see the English Sheepdog try to scare away Godzilla and the others, most likely that the saurian would flick him away with his tail… or worse, fry him with his blue fire breath. Melody said with confidence that she would make sure that Max and Godzilla would get along well when he came back.
Chef Louie then announced to all, "Everyone, breakfast will be served in five minutes! Please, get ready at the table so you can all feast on my masterpieces!". The portly French chef took great pride in his culinary work, and no one could find fault with that. It was rare nowadays to find experienced cooks with that much passion and belief in their creations. The mothers told the children to wash their hands and faces, and the pre-teens eagerly went to any available washroom to clean up for the first meal of the day. Grimsby inquired if any one of them would care to feed Godzilla and the monsters, who were outside still at the courtyard. Belle and the royal ladies said they would take care of it, going to the kitchen to get some food out for their large friends. Asce asked if they could not only watch, but help out as well. After all, the fathers did not want their wives and children to have all the fun when interacting with powerful creatures from another universe.
The royal husbands followed their wives to the kitchen, and helped them with each of the monster's favored food. Eric, Asce, and Léandre were assisting their wives in getting some meat for Godzilla and Anguirus, Philip helping Aurora getting some fresh fish for Rodan, and finally Florian was aiding his wife Snow White in picking out some fine fruit for Mothra and the Twin Fairies. Once each person had a suitable amount of food, they left the kitchen and walked outside towards the courtyard. The former Beast king inquired, "Are you sure this is enough for them? I mean, they are large and would require more food then this.". In his arms were two large pieces of fine steak, just like it was with his friends and the womenfolk. Ariel answered that they learned from the Twin Fairies that the monsters do not need much food then one would suspect, and could survive quite well without eating for a while. This surprised the princes, and some of the servants were starting to wonder about the anatomy of the otherworldly beings. One whispered to another if the animals drank water, cause if they did, they would need to build a swimming pool to be their water source.
When the children emerged from the washrooms and coming back downstairs, they were treated to a good sight of their fathers feeding the monsters. Godzilla ate what Asce and Eric fed them, but growled at them when they tried to lean over to pet him on the side of the head. The males backed off quick, and a little indignation filled their beings and showed on their faces as they saw their wives feeding him and the saurian leaning down his head to have the two royal females stroke the side of his head. When the two scratched the special spots on his face, Godzilla actually rumbled deeply in delight and his tail waved a little on the ground back and forth. The princes were a little stunned to see the reputed King of the Monsters act like a large pet, and it was the same for the others. Mothra accepted Florian a little more gracefully then the others, but still preferred Snow White's company. The Twin Fairies apologized, "We are sorry. But give her some more time to be with you, and she'll warm up.". However, Anguirus and Rodan were not as trusting to the males, doing a small charge at them after they were fed. It seems that the former titans from another universe trusted the female species more then the male, as they had seen that most men in their world often wanted to kill them while the women and children here were more trusting and compassionate to them.
When the parents came back in, the fathers found their children snickering/giggling at them. Philip gave them a little mock glare and stated, "Not one word, please.". The children then laughed as they followed their folks to the dining area, where awaiting them was the sweet smell of delicious food! The adults had to wash their hands first, going to a nearby washroom to do so. The kids waited at the table, but thankfully it was not long. Louie and the servants started to put the plates in front of the hungry guests, each plate having a unique breakfast order on them. The cook prepared each dish that was unique to the guests from other parts of the world, and it seemed that it was a hit to the foreign royals. They all dug in, all eating and drinking from their place at the table for about fifteen minutes until Melody asked her parents a question.
She asked, "Mom, Dad. What do you think we should do for the day?".
Eric answered, "Hmmm… how about all of you take Godzilla and the others to the village? Since they were welcomed here, how about you try your luck in getting them more acquainted with our kingdom? I'm sure the other children and teens would like to meet them again.". The children saw that was not a bad idea, to get their large friends more accustomed to the people and hopefully they would be seen as friends, guardians, those that they would entrust their lives to. Ariel added in that it would also be good to see if they could get something special for the monsters, like some kind of identification material or something so that others would not mistake them for mere wild beasts. Tracy replied that it was a good idea, and already had some ideas in mind.
Florian stated, "I think it would be best if you kids were also at the village then here for awhile. We need to tend to, and see to a swift trial, of Shadowsneak.". That got a round of shivers from the group, especially the wives/mothers who were taken hostage by the leader of the bandits. Shortly after Melody's song last night, the Monster bandit lackeys were all rounded up by the guards and escorted back to the cells. The guard that was knocked out by Shadowsneak in the dungeon had recovered, and discovered on how the leader managed to open the door to his cell. Needless to say, the problem was corrected and now all cell door locks would be inspected closely now. When Captain Dashboard's men found Shadowsneak, going to the place where Godzilla fired his legendary blue flame, they searched the bushes and found him. It was good that Dashboard's men did not go by assumptions and checked the area. The leader was unconscious, burned in some areas, and also having some scratches on his being. The biggest ones that the master thief would wear for the rest of his life were the bite marks that Melody and Tracy gave him. The soldiers were still shocked that the royal princesses would resort to such an action like this, but then again… one had to do what they must to save friends and family. Shadowsneak was hauled away to the medical part of the castle, but under heavy guard. And from what Eric was told, the thief would be unconscious for several hours. Springy and Tightfist, one of the two major muscles of the bandit group, had recovered enough from their wounds and were now placed in regular cells.
Mainard growled softly and muttered, "I hope that jerk gets what is coming to him…". Belle and Léandre looked to their son, hoping that he would not dwell on this dark moment. But at the same time, glad that their flesh and blood had a good amount of honor and strong moral fiber that was rare nowadays in royals in Europe.
Once everyone was finished with their meals, the entire breakfast session lasting about an hour or so, the children got up and were about to go outside to take their monster companions to the village. Ariel called out, "Hold on, you all! Before you go, you're going to need an escort for the day! And it so happens, Godfred and Nicholas are available to be your supervisors for the day.". The children groaned, remembering the two soldiers that had escorted them last time. Truth be told, it was fun to pull the wool over their eyes, and also lead them on a merry chase through the village. Though this time, the adults told them to go easy now with the soldiers. Melody promised that they would behave… only to a certain extent, though she did not say the last part out loud. The parents saw that their children were indeed good at finding loopholes and bending the rules a bit, so they could only hope that they would indeed behave and give Godfred and Nicholas a break. The children gave their beloved parents a hug, with the mothers kissing their sons and the daughters kissing both their parents on the cheeks, before running out of the palace and towards their four massive friends.
As they watched them leave, Léandre stated, "Eric, I sure hope the kids don't get into too much trouble today. I can't help but shake this feeling that something big is going to happen soon… and it's not the good kind of feeling.". The parents felt a bit uneasy at the former Beast's words, and Eric replied that he trusted them to stay out of trouble. As for the bad feeling… he just hoped it would be nothing and everything would be alright.
~At the village~
It was about early afternoon, around 10:15 a.m. or so, and everyone was up and doing their chores, work, or just milling around and enjoying the day. The kids were alive and full of energy, the teenagers were enjoying the day with their dates, or helping the adults with their trades or crafts. However, six teenagers were not enjoying the scenery. It was Alfred Fording, Hector Manchester, and their four noble acquaintances. Last night had been a rough one for the teens. They were not allowed to go out of the village per Captain Dashboard instructions, and were under soldier escort. Of course, the teens complained and threatened to tell their noble families about this. While the Manchesters, Foldings and the other minor lords and ladies had some power and authority, it paled in comparison to the backing of the major lords, ladies and the royal family. So the soldiers just yawned and/or replied that they were free to go ahead and complain like a bunch of spoiled brats, and that got the teenage boys really embarrassed and angry. Usually they would resort to physical violence to get their point across, but not even these six were foolish enough to take on adults let alone soldiers. Since the town was virtually empty that night of the party, the noble brats tried to steal or 'liberate' some of the shopkeeper's property and goods. Unfortunately, they learned the hard way that the shopkeepers and other merchant sellers had methods of keeping robbers out. Some used clever traps, while others employed animals such as dogs. Alfred and Hector would be needing new pants come the morning.
Now, all of the villagers were up and about doing their activities when they heard a familiar screech coming from the air! They all looked up, and following said screech was an unusual buzzing sound. The soldiers near the entrance/exit to the village exclaimed, "Look! Up there! Something's flying overhead, and its big!". The adults and children prepared to go indoors to be safe, but some of the children did not go inside. It was Carlitos, the brother of Regina, and the little guy was at the village's central square. He peered more into the sky, then saw something large and familiar flying lower to the human populated town. He soon smiled big time, and waved his hand in the air. His parents and little sister went out to get him, but his cry made everyone stop their evacuation of the streets.
He cried out happily, "Its Rodan! It's the friendly monster, Rodan! He's flying! And… someone is on his back!". All looked up and saw that it was indeed the flying dinosaur they met last night, and on top of his back was Dianne and Edgard! The royal twins were whooping and laughing in delight as they rode on their massive friend, and apparently enjoying giving the town a bit of a startle with their antics. Everyone relaxed, looking up in awe at the powerful display of speed and skill that Rodan was doing. Just then, a loud booming sound filled the village and all humans felt the vibration almost immediately afterward. The animals and/or pets of the village started to bark, whine, meow, caw and any other animal sound one would make. The soldiers at the entrance/exit quickly parted, and the gates to the village were flung open as coming in were Godzilla, Anguirus, and Mothra! Everyone was in awe at seeing the monsters coming into the village, and when the little ones saw that it was indeed them, they shouted and laughed in delight as they ran up to them. For the monsters, this was a new feeling. Usually when they came to any kind of human populated area, the inhabitants would run, scream in fright, shoot at them, and all sorts of negative and violent actions. Now, they were being greeted positively by the same race, even though they were in a different universe.
Melody and her royal companions waved, hugged, shook hands, and even high-fived the kids, teens, and adults that greeted them warmly. She laughed as she saw Godzilla actually being careful to not step on any of the kids. She exclaimed, "It's alright, Godzilla! They know when to step out of the way! Trust me! And how does it feel to be welcomed instead of hated?". Godzilla could not fully understand her, not yet at least, but he did understand the last question. He looked down to see the little ones, especially Regina, crowding around him and wanting to be either picked up or climb on him. The King of the Monsters growled softly, and Melody understood that he was still getting used to this kind of treatment. But, it seemed he was adapting nicely, as were the other monsters when the teens, kids, and adults also greeted them well. The former titans made their way to the center of the village, where Rodan landed perfectly. Granted, it was difficult given the buildings, people and structures. But nevertheless, the giant flying dinosaur managed to touch down without damaging anything, which was a first. Edgard and Dianne whooped in pure joy before sliding off Rodan's back, and going to their friends. The gathering of humans around the monsters increased, and it looked to be okay… when six certain someone's, who will remain nameless, appeared and opened their mouths to ruin the moment.
Alfred pointed at the monsters, Godzilla especially and yelled out, "Are all of you out of your minds?! You're actually welcoming savage beasts into our village like they were friends or something?!". The crowd quieted down and all eyes were now locked on the noble brat and his other comrades. Godzilla growled low, an angry tone in his growl. Anguirus was also growling angrily, these humans before him giving off a very bad vibe that triggered his instincts to drive the pesky intruders away. However, he was held back by Mainard and the children. Mothra and the Twin Fairies, said mystical beings in Kathrin's hands, were also displeased greatly at seeing and hearing these cowardly teens. Tracy and Melody stood in front of Godzilla, both princesses looking rather protective of their green-skinned friend. Edgard and Dianne stood in front of Rodan, the fraternal twins also looking ready to fight just in case.
Hector took over, "You all are truly insane if you're welcoming these… these… animals to our village! Our home! Our land! Do you think you can possibly live in harmony with these freaks?!". One of the noble teens took a piece of fruit from a vendor and hurled the red apple at Godzilla, but something came in and hit it right back directly at the teens face! The young man yelped in pain as the fruit hit him in the forehead, showing to all that apples were indeed a dangerous projectile. Everyone saw that the one who delivered the fruity object back at its thrower was Oliver Oxen! The African boy had come in after he had seen the monsters coming into town, and when he saw the noble throwing the apple at Godzilla, he made his move and ran fast towards the projectile! He leapt up, and using his staff with precision like a bat, knocked the apple back to the noble, striking him in the forehead like the stone that David in the Bible did to Goliath! The teen was still alive, but would have a headache and a little dent in his forehead later on. Melody was very much impressed by his entrance, as well as his counter move.
Oliver/Olujimi stood tall and firm like a strong tree and stated, "Better to be insane then a brat like you, fool. You have obviously forgotten what happened two days at the beach, when it was you and your so-called friends that threw two innocent children to the wolves to save your own hides!". It seems that the dark-skinned lad at a struck a nerve, the bullies flinching and having the adults, teens and children's heated glares upon them. The six saw some of the adults looking at them rather angrily, and they rightly guessed that they were the parents of the kids that they literally threw to the wolves two days ago.
Another noble teenager grabbed another piece of fruit, vexing the fruit vendor because these boys were hurling his products without paying for them, and was about to hurl a banana at the ebony hero. However, he found that his hand was now empty and was a bit bewildered on what just occurred. "Don't you know its bad manners to waste good food?" a familiar voice stated. The goons turned around, and backed away a bit to see that it was Hadrian/Hazael! The Arabian boy was smirking as he was holding the banana in his hand, walking and whistling a little tune. Most were surprised due to not even hearing the young lad sneaking up on the bullies, showcasing to all his skill when it came to stealth and flair. He went to Dianne, peeling away the banana and tearing the yellow fruit in half. He gave the other half to her, which she accepted, and bit into the other half. He stated that the banana was delicious, and called out to the vendor that he would pay for it later on. The smirking boy then turned his gaze to the teenagers of noble birth, and he stood ready as his friend Oliver was doing.
"You six are slow learners. Your power is already diminishing since your bullying ways are now exposed, your leader is now getting drilled into the military lifestyle by his father, and any kind of 'fun' you enjoyed is now no longer available to you. Please do yourselves a favor and leave this place before you embarrass yourselves even more." Hadrian stated loudly, and the villagers seemed to be in agreement with him. The six nobles sweated a little, seeing that indeed their power and influence were vanishing at an alarming rate. Still, they tried to get the last word in, wanting to at least leave with some kind of victory attached to their mental belts.
Hector shouted out, "I bet you all won't be so welcoming towards these beasts when they snap and turn on you! In fact, I look forward to the day when they do lose it and someone dies because of one little princesses stupid wish of bringing them here like they were actual friends!". Godzilla had enough, this whiny human's voice was aggravating on his ears, and he wanted to silence this foolish creature once and for all! He walked past Tracy and Melody, stomping towards the six teenagers. The boys were instantly silenced as their focus was now on the huge saurian coming towards them. They would have run or gotten out of the way, but fear quickly seized them, their legs refusing to budge an inch. All looked on with bated breath, wondering what was going to happen as the royals and their local friends were hoping that nothing serious would happen. Godzilla leaned his head down a little, looking into the eyes of these six weak humans, and he was disgusted by the level of fear he saw in them. If the King of the Monsters had one human-like quality to him, it was that he respected those that showed little to no fear of him. And these humans reeked of it so much, it offended his very being. He then ROARED at them, his voice so loud it would have burst their eardrums had they not covered their ears quickly. And since he was very close to them, they were flung back about a few feet or so. The teenagers were now sprawled on the ground, their hands covering their ears still as Godzilla slowly put his head back up again at normal height.
Oliver then smelled something foul, and saw that it was coming from the teenagers. He saw a stain on their pants, and the African hero was chuckling as he pointed with his staff and declared, "It seems that Godzilla has scared them good! Look! They have soiled themselves in fear!". When they saw that it was indeed true, the entire crowd started to raise up a rousing bout of laughter! Hector and the others looked down, and were now seeing and feeling that they had indeed soiled themselves… front and back. The six teenage brats were now crimson with embarrassment and shame, and they ran from the public eye as fast as they could. Godzilla snorted at their retreat, as did the other monsters, before turning around and lumbering back to his bonded. Melody and Tracy smiled as they went to their friend, pride showing clearly as they touched his legs. The two princesses were glad to see the King of the Monsters showing restraint, and just putting the bullies in their place. Oliver and Hadrian went to them as the children and adults cheered loudly for the green-skinned behemoth.
The Arabian boy crowed in delight, "That was incredible! With our friend here, this kingdom would be very well protected now! I wish there was more of him and the others, and that way other good places all over the world would be safe from bullies like them!". The others agreed with him on that. In their eyes, Godzilla and the his companions were good beings, protectors when treated with love, respect, and dignity. Godfred and Nicholas, who were nearby, also agreed that with the monsters around, any kind of lord, lady, or royal person with ill-intent towards this particular kingdom would be driven back with little to no problem. Godzilla, Mothra, Rodan, and Anguirus seemed to like the attention they were getting, and the Twin Fairies hoped that they would receive more attention such as this, since it was making a positive impact on them.
Tracy then stated, "Well, we came here to show the monsters a good time in the village! And also to get them something that will identify them as friends to this kingdom. So come on! Let's see what we can do, and what we can get!". Her companions could not agree more with her, and they all started to look around to find something that would be special and good for their large companions/guardians!
~At Atlantica~
King Triton was in his Throne Room, looking rather uneasy. Despite the pleas of Flounder and Sonia to go and see his granddaughter today, since her party had passed and she was more likely available for him to see now, he was feeling rather uneasy at the moment. He could not put his finger or fin on it exactly, but he felt that something incredible was about to appear… and something awful rather then pleasant. He was looking at his trident, which was now pulsing continuously with power. He had seen it before, when the activation of four magical objects surfaced up. And now, it seemed to become alive more. "What does this mean? It has been pulsing for some time, and I don't know what…?" he asked himself when a guard came in. The merman looked positively spooked, and it showed on his face. He saluted his king, and stammered that he was back with a report.
"M-M-My king! O-O-Our scouts have reported something coming this way, about 50 miles west of the kingdom's position!" he reported. This was the same soldier that had been with Triton when they ran into Godzilla some days ago.
The king inquired, "Is it the creature from last time?". If it was Godzilla, he was prepared to fight to the death this time!
The soldier shook his head, fear still etched on his face. "N-No, your Highness! This new creature… its massive! The scouts reported that many of the sea citizens are swimming away as fast as they could from this… this… thing that is approaching our kingdom! And it's not alone! The fish, dolphins and sharks that have seen it before swimming like their lives depended on it reported that the four beasts consists of a HUGE red lobster, a strange bug of sort, a red dinosaur with sails on its head, and a… a… they are not sure how to identify the last monster. It's like something they had literally never seen before, and it seems to have many tentacles with strange heads attached to them. And also the lobster seemed to be carrying on its back a strange craft of some kind, like a boat!". King Triton listened to the reports, deep in thought. After some time, he opened his eyes and they were hard as forged metal.
He ordered, "Get my chariot ready, put in the most fastest and bravest of dolphins on it. Gather fifteen of our finest troops, and tell them to be prepared for battle! I believe that a more serious nature has just occurred! I want everyone to be ready in ten minutes!". The soldier saluted, and swam as his fins could carry him to spread the word. The ruler of Atlantica now felt that these invaders must have a connection with the magical objects, and why his trident was glowing.
Triton thought, 'The craft this large lobster is carrying… the ones on board should provide me with the answers I need! I need to find out more on what exactly is going on here!'. He then swam away from the Throne Room, not seeing that hiding behind one of the pillars was Sonia, Flounder, and Sebastian. The three were going to see if they could talk to Triton about visiting Melody… but it seems that this unexpected turn of events had shot down their plans.
Sonia looked to the others and said, "This is very bad! I really have a strong feeling that those four beasts that the soldier mentioned might be connected to Godzilla and the others, and not in a good way!".
Sebastian replied, "I hear that, mon! Ever since this morning, I've had a very bad feeling in my shell! Now I know why! We need to warn Melody and the others somehow!". Flounder put in that while Melody was more likely at the human village away from the castle, chances are that Ariel and Eric were at the castle. He said that it would be better to warn them first, since they were adults and had more authority in matters like this then children. Sonia agreed with him and the three soon swam off towards the Marcel palace! Sebastian had to hold onto Sonia's tail fin as she swam fast, showing that she really did have some kick left in her old body. It seemed that things were heating up big time in Atlantica, and the problem in the sea would soon become a problem for the citizens on the land!
(Author's Notes: Well, how was this? I hope I put you all on the edge of your seats with this one! Godzilla and the others seem to be more then welcomed at the human village, and that is indeed a start. If you were one of the villagers, or even one of the royal members here, what would you have done or said to the six noble bullies that tend to be really slow learner in holding one's temper and tongue? And also, what kind of identification would you choose so that Godzilla and the others can wear and how would you style it? And finally, this question. If you were like Melody, on Godzilla's shoulders and briefly feeling his spirit as he turned on his sixth sense, what would your first thought be?
In the next chapter, the forces of King Triton meet up with Maleficent and her four LARGE forces! It's going to be a sight to see on how the conflict begins and ends! Also, the couples in the village spend some quality time together while also finding something to make for their companions/guardians. The pairings in here are Tracy/Mainard, Edgard/Kathrin, Dianne/Hadrian, and Melody/Oliver!
