So in this chapter we meet a character that was inspired by a character in a story I read in a children's magazine about animals, a girl about to start the first grade develops a terror of all animals when she learns her class will have a class pet it ends with her realizing the class iguana is not scary at all but since my favorite BTAS villain is Scarecrow I had to have this issue so I could read the story again and again and was also one of the early factors in the 'ordinary humans get mutated' plot
When the Turtles and Fellowship Heard (And Peter and Bree) jumped through to where Matoaka was in Gotham, the Unicorn-Woman sighed "I'm particularly grateful you're here Donatello...Perhaps you can explain just what exactly is going on!"
They walked into a hospital, in one room sitting on a chair was what one might mistake for a Cat-Girl Humanimal or maybe an ordinary Mutant Animal that had been born an ordinary animal...The Kitten-Girl had a black pelt but her 'head-fur' was the same sandy color as her human form she was wearing a child sized hospital gown and was licking a lollipop the Doctor had given her.
The parents explained the woeful tale.
"For weeks Ella had developed a sudden fear of all animals…" Said her Mother "...We're not sure how it started…"
"We suspect it had something to do with a scary movie she saw at a friend's house about ferocious beasts!" Her Dad said
Ella cringed complete with ears folding back hinting that her Dad had guessed right that it was that scary movie she saw at the sleepover.
"Then one day…" Her Mom said "...When we had Ella take out the garbage, a stray cat ran past her and brushed past her leg…"
"She squealed like a stuck pig…" Her Dad said "...And fell on her rear...Into a puddle of this pink goo that was just oozing up from the ground in our front yard!"
"The one silver lining to this is now her fear of animals is cured…" Her Mom sighed
"I feel really stupid…" Ella said "...I feel like this is the punishment I get for my stupid fear, not even letting my old stuffed animals sleep with me now I'm turned into an animal to see they're not scary! Well...Leeches are still scary!"
"She saw some medicinal leeches in the hospital…" Her Mom said
Don sighed "I'm...Terribly sorry about this…" He said "...I know exactly what that ooze is! See some time ago we met...Counterparts, not quite doppelgangers but alternate versions of ourselves from another universe their world's mutagen worked differently from our mutagen...The Mutagen that mutated us, was a simple growth formula it caused animals exposed to it to grow in all ways including intelligence, their mutagen, the pink mutagen was more like a crossbreeding formula...It caused whoever was in contact with it, to take the form of the animal they had most recently been in contact with…"
"Is there...Any cure?" Her Mom pleaded
"Not that I'm aware of…" Don said rubbing the back of his head "...There's this one guy we know who turned into a giant mutant turtle he hasn't come out of hiding since!"
As the Mother started to weep, Ichabod had to step out of the room because he felt he might get angry he couldn't believe it! Some humans were having the luck of transforming into anthro animal people! He had to step out before he started yelling about how this was actually a gift to have animal speed and strength…
So yeah bringing it back to Ichabod's conflict
