"Chris man, are you sure this is a good idea?" Chef asked as the two walked down a well light hallway, the artificial lights buzzing. "We did manage to bring the series back, sure, but going for another revamp so soon?"
"You just don't get it, Chef." Chris shrugged his shoulders, a smirk on his face. "We reopened the feeding hole. We just have to pitch it the right way."
"And what way is that, oh wise one?" Chef asked, raising an eyebrow at his coworker/boss. "Enlighten me."
"You bring back some old players, you add a new cast, and boom!" Chris explained, holding up a hand for a high five. "We have the viewers eating out of our hands."
"If you're sure." Chef sighed, letting his friend imagine his plans. "I'm game for it, but are the producers?"
"That's what we are going to find out!" Chris grinned, the two stopping outside of a door. "Right behind this door is the big wigs. We get them into it, we can have a few more seasons if we wanted."
The two went into the door, the room inside a dark blue. There was a long, brown table in the center and windows stretching from ceiling to floor, overlooking the city tops. At the table sat five people, their heads turning to the duo that had arrived.
"Alright McLean, you have five minutes to convince us." The person at the head of the table, a red haired woman with dark brown eyes and fair skin. "This is your third time trying to keep Total Drama alive. What do you have?"
"What I have is a simple idea." Chris clapped his hands, stepping to the other end of the table so all of the five higher ups could clearly see and hear him. "Total Drama is, at its core, a game that revolves around the three B's."
"And what are those?" A man with green eyes and black hair asked, adjusting his glasses.
"Social, strength and strategy." Chris answered, holding up a hand. "While those don't start with B, they are narrowed down to brains, brawn and beauty. It was just hard to describe the beauty aspect."
"What does that have to do with a new season, Chris?" The first woman asked, glaring at the host. "Get to the point."
"I think we can use this formation to make another season of the show." Chris answered, clapping his hands. "And-"
"That's already been used in other seasons of different shows." A woman with blond hair rolled her eyes. "What makes this different?"
"What I have is a twist." Chris smiled, his eyes shining. "A coach. From previous seasons, we bring someone that has wanted some more time to shine. Using this format, I already have the three in mind."
"And who would those be?" Chef asked, getting some looks from the room. "Sorry, he didn't tell me much."
"I am assuming it's going to be some of the big hitters." The red head said, tapping the table. "Those like Owen, Heather or Courtney."
"Close, but not quite." Chris shook his head, enjoying the shocked looks. He took three folders from a bag, tossing them down. "First one should be our Beauty coach."
One of the people grabbed the first folder, opening it. Everyone looked down at the picture, a shocked look coming across many faces.
"Him? Really?" Blond asked, giving the host a look. "After his performances? Sure he went far once, but his other time was…lackluster."
"He's expressed interest in coming back." Chris pointed out. "He's going to bring drama, that's for sure."
"Alright, and who's…I'm guessing this is brawn?" The green eyed man asked, having opened the folder to number two. "This one makes more sense, he's been proclaimed to be a robbed person."
"That's right!" Chris smiled, before gulping. "This last one will be a hard sell."
"Who is it?" The red head asked, taking it and opening it. She gasped in shock, dropping the folder. Those gathered took a look as well, each responding in shock. Chef looked to his friend, eyes wide.
"Chris, are you serious?!" The big man asked, rubbing his eyes and looking again. "After what happened last time?"
"They promised to behave if they came back." Chris responded, tapping his fingers. "And think of the ratings! Drama for sure."
"This is….only one of these make sense." The head woman rubbed her nose. "However, I won't lie, I am interested. Where would this be taking place?"
"I have my eyes on this little island." Chris answered, pulling up a photo. "Small, but big enough."
"And how many people are you hoping to get?"
"I want something around twenty four, eight people per team." Chris shot, holding up a hand. "It's a lot, but it's worth it."
The five people looked among themselves, before going into a discussion. They waved the duo to leave as they talked, the two walking out. They exchanged a nervous glance as they waited, other workers giving them looks as they passed. After five minutes, they were called back in, standing at the foot of the long table.
"Your idea is crazy." The main woman began, giving them both a glare. "And dangerous. However, it's interesting enough for us to put some faith into you, and the idea. You are approved."
"YES!" Chris cheered, wrapping Chef into a hug, which was returned. "Time for another season!
A week later, Chris was standing on a dock, a grin all over his face. People were walking behind him, holding equipment and supplies, Chef barking orders at them. Interns ran around with big bags, while Chris just watched the entire thing. He took a deep breath, before facing the camera that an intern had set up.
"It's so good to be back. Though, the break wasn't as long this time around." He clapped his hands together, an intern running to give him a drink. "I can't wait to bring the pain…and the drama."
He took a swig of the drink handed to him, before spitting it out. "YUCK. Get that fixed." He glared at the intern, the poor girl running off. "And get ready to get the tapes as they come in, we want to get this show on the road!"
He huffed, turning to face the camera and clearing his throat. "We are looking for the next winner of Total Drama folks. Someone who can really bring the pain, the fame, and the bang! You'll need it, since this will be a season filled with the most extreme challenges known to man! If you think you got what it takes, then come on in, the waters warm…and electric. We'll see you, on TOTAL…DRAMA…BATTLE OF THE B'S!"
And that is the prologue. I wanted to give a small base, an attention grabber to….grab attention, I guess. I wanted to try my hand at these SYOCs, I see a lot and they seem fun. Thought I would give it a shot, since I do have writing experience, but mostly with my own characters. Wanted to try and do right by getting more people, maybe some I'd never even think of. So send em in when you can! I am planning for anywhere between 18-24! Maybe higher if I get enough!
Some rules, of course!
No Mary/Gary Stus. Pretty obvious, we want a game where anything can happen!
Send thy apps through the PMs, only I can see these peeps before they get out.
There is no deadline, and first come first serve doesn't apply. But still, be fast! And take your time.
Have fun. These are for the thrill of it, don't take it too serious. Take it serious enough to read though!
Be descriptive. Makes the process easier for me when coming up with ideas!
AND HERE IS THE APP. It'll be on my profile, just to make things easier. Title it Battle of the B's or whatever, just so I know right away.
