Chapter 1

Mikasa looked around her as she saw they were losing. The scouts had gone out to rescue Eren and Ymir from Reiner and Bertholdt but it was clear from the beginning this was gonna be a big failure.

Before Reiner and Bertholdt escaped with Eren and Ymir they had managed to get Annie and break her free from the ice. Captain Levi couldn't come due to his injury, at the beginning commander Erwin already lost an arm and they were immediately attacked by dozens of titans.

She looked around as she saw comrades getting eaten, Hannes getting eaten by the very same titan that killed Eren's mother. She saw Eren breaking down in front of her. Eren.. he had gotten hurt protecting her and now he's wounded and could not turn into a titan.

Was there really any hope for humanity? She asked herself. No! What was she doing, she has to fight! Her comrades are risking their lives out there and shes here doing nothing! She looked around desperately for anything that could help, for any plan, for any life she could save, for any solution. "I need to find something. I can't let my friends get eaten." She gritted out. She looked over to the battle with Reiner where scouts were battling hard. She looked on helplessly as she saw her comrades get eaten.

Then in the corner of her eyes she saw something getting thrown off Reiner. She squinted her eyes. No it was a someone. It wasn't a scout. It was Annie. Annie was still unconscious and was helplessly thrown to the side, apparently only she had noticed the rest being too caught up in the fight.

Then she remembered something. It was just before they got sent out on the mission. Captain Levi had called her apart to have a private conversation. Captain Levi had given her a serum saying she needed to keep it safe and only use it in times of emergency. Apparently they had managed to get it from Rod Reiss. It was a serum that could transform people into titan. Levi said this was enough for one person. He also said that if a human was injected with it they would turn into a mindless titan. But if that person were to eat a titan shifter in titan form they would become a titan shifter like Eren, Reiner, Annie and Bertholdt.

Could she use it? Was it really okay for her to inject herself with it? What if she doesn't manage to eat Annie. She would be a mindless titan for the rest of her life and leave everyone. She looked around her again. They were losing badly. If it continued like this the scout regiment wouldn't exist anymore. She had to use this. Even if it meant having to be a titan or a titan shifter for the rest of her life. She had to do it. For humanity, for her comrades, for her fallen comrades, for Armin.. and most importantly for Eren.

She gritted her teeth. Was this really the right choice, shouldn't someone else do this. Levi would do better with his incredible fighting skills or Erwin with his amazing leading and strategizing or- No! She had no time to think about it. The longer she stood here pondering the more comrades would get eaten. She stood up, her hands reaching for the serum in her pocket.

"Eren! Whatever happens you have to stay here!" Mikasa called out to Eren. "Mikasa!" Eren called out to her but Mikasa had already started running towards an unconscious Annie.

Reiner's eyes widened as he saw Mikasa running towards Annie. "No!" Reiner thought. He began running towards Mikasa. "I can't let that Ackerman get to Annie!" Reiner thought as he gritted his teeth.

Armin noticed all this and saw the serum in Mikasa's hand. "No…" Armin thought with wide eyes. She wouldn't do that. Or would she? Armin thought anxiously already having kinda an idea kf what she was about to do.

Whatever she was gonna do he knew she knew what she was doing and wouldn't do anything to bring humanity in danger except if there was something with Eren. He quickly looked over to Eren but saw that he was very wounded but overall fine.

What was Mikasa doing? He looked over to where she was running and saw Annie. He looked over at a stressed Reiner and at the serum in Mikasa's hand. "No way" he muttered with horrified eyes. "No, she wouldn't do it..right?". He looked around and saw everyone getting eaten and Eren who was hurt. He knew he had to buy Mikasa time if she wanted to complete her plan. But has she really thought about what impact this'll have? What should he do, what should he do! He saw how determined Mikasa was running at full speed towards Annie. He saw how Reiner was catching up to her. No, he couldn't let Reiner get her. He won't allow it. He would have time to think this through later.

Obviously that's the same as what Mikasa thought. First priority is humanity, then yourself. He has to buy Mikasa some time. He stood up seriously. This was their only chance. He will buy Mikasa time.

"Scouts! Listen up! Mikasa Ackerman has a plan to defeat the titans but we have to buy her time! At this moment she is willing to risk her life and future for us! For humanity! We have to keep fighting! The battle is not over as long as we're alive! We will buy Mikasa Ackerman time so she can save humanity!" Armin shouted to all the scouts on the battlefield.

"Are you crazy?!" shouted one of the scouts. "We're not gonna rush into that!" the scout shouted scared. "Yeah hes right! We'll die if we rush into that!" shouted another scout.

Armin gritted his teeth in frustration. "She's risking her entire life to save us! If she dies there wont be any scout regiment left! We'll all die if her plan fails! This is our only chance!" shouted Armin.

"But what if we die! We also have a life!" shouted a scout. "IF SHE DIES YOUR LIVES WILL BE OVER ANYWAY!" Shouted Armin, he took a deep breath and composed himself. "Its either we do nothing and let her die and we'll die too or we fight to save her and she'll save us! At this point it doesnt matter anymore!" Said Armin trembling. "We'll die either way! Doesnt matter if its now or today or even a whole different battle! So better fight now and sacrifice to save everyone here then die for another reason! Dying this way is the most respected way!" Shouted armin finishing his speech.

The scouts were silent for a while till one made a move. He made a perfect salute. "Im ready to sacrifice my life for the people here!" He shouted.

Slowly more and more scouts saluted till everyone was ready. Armin looked on with wide eyes trembling but then saluted. "I cant thank you enough! Lets win this battle and fight with everything we have!" Shouted Armin.The scouts gave shouts of resignation and charged towards Reiner at full power, buying as much time for Mikasa as they could.

Mikasa gave a quick glance behind her, having noticed the armored titan had stopped chasing her. Her eyes widened as she saw all her comrades risking their lives for her to reach Annie and save everyone. She couldn't let them down. She couldn't let humanity down.

With more determination she ran with all her strength to Annie and squirted the serum into her own arm. She stumbled. This hurt so much. She could feel her body changing and spasming. But she continued to stumble forward towards Annie. She had to do this. She could feel herself losing consciousness. She tried to gather up all her strength and willpower to move forward. She fell. She couldn't resist the titan transformation for much longer.

There was a yellow flash and in place of Mikasa there was a titan with black hair. It was a 7 meter titan with shoulder length black hair. Everyone saw the titan and backed away.

"NO! "MIKASA!" screamed Eren. He tried to stand up but failed. His chest was bleeding a lot. "Mikasa..." croacked Eren as he laid on the ground grasping his chest. "If only i had saved Mikasa sooner..." said Eren as he looked at the titan that was Mikasa. Tears prickled at his eyes. "I failed to protect you Mikasa... Now you're a monster.. just like me..." Eren curled into a ball on the ground as he was feeling guilt and sadness and also pain from his big chest wound.

It continued to bleed painting the green grass scarlet red. Eren was losing consciousness. "No i cant pass out now.." mumbled Eren as he desperately tried to move. He ended up falling on the ground again aggrivating his wound even more.

He heard muffled screams and running in the background and he saw blurrily people dying and getting eaten by the titans. He saw people abandoning their comrades to save themselves.

"W-what is going on..." mumbled Eren to himself. Where was humanity in this. There was no humanity here. Only humans and titans fighting. It was always like this. Fight fight fight and fight even more till you die.

This wasnt freedom. We werent free. No one was free. We never were. We are trapped inside walls and getting annihilated by the titans. And yet... we still know nothing about them!

Tears were streaming down Eren's fave at this point. "This world is hell..." said Eren. He heard muffler footsteps on the background. "Eren! Eren! Stay with us! Eren!" He recognized these voices... they were Sasha and Connie's.

They were picking him up and they swang to the horses and laid him down in one of the cars. "Its okay Eren you can sleep" was the last thing Eren heard before he gave in and passed out.

Armin froze midair as he saw Mikasa's titan form. "Mikasa… you really did it…" Armin had tears in his eyes as his other closest friend was a titan now. He couldn't help but feel he would really hold Mikasa and Eren back now. Just like always he was the weakest.

He snapped out of his thoughts just in time to dodge a titan hand. He couldnt think about his own emotions right now. The only thing he could do now was to lead thee soldiers to distract Reiner and Bertholdt.

Titan Mikasa looked around with a creepy smile that almost all the titans seemed to have on their faces. Titan Mikasa's eyes landed on Annie and she began running towards Annie. She grabbed Annie in her hand and began eating Annie with no mercy and no human thought.

"NOOOOOOO" everyone could hear Bertholdt scream in despair. Bertholdt fell down to his knees crying on Reiner's titan shoulder. In the meantime Reiner had stopped running and looked like he was in shock. He was just standing there looking on, arms limp at his sides and his mouth open. "No… Annie…. NO ANNIEEEE!!!!" Reiner roared.

Armin looked away not wanting to see this. It was gruesome how titan Mikasa was eating Annie so mercilessly.

When there was no trace of Annie anymore except her blood titan Mikasa looked up and there was another yellow flash just like when Eren transforms into his titan.

When the flash disappeared there wasn't the ugly 7 meter Mikasa titan anymore. Instead there was a 13 meter female titan which looked alot like Annie's but the differences were that the titan had Mikasa's hair and looked more like Mikasa. It took some time for everyone to understand that it wasn't Annie but Mikasa.

But Mikasa looked weak and Mikasa herself knew she couldn't win. Mikasa remembered that time when they tried to capture Annie but Annie had screamed and all the titans came to eat her. Maybe she could do that too. It was worth a shot.

Titan Mikasa ran to Reiner and held him in place and let out a scream attracting all the titans to her. Mikasa knew she couldn't beat Reiner now being too weakened by the titan transformation and the battle but she could let him get eaten by the other titans.

The moment she stopped screaming she tried to get out of her titan but it was more difficult than expected. She saw the numerous titans closing in on her and Reiner and desperately tried to get out of her titan. The titans were here and began eating her and Reiner.

It hurt so much. She screamed in agony as the titans were eating her titan. Just when it looked like there was no way to escape she saw sunlight. She continued to scream in agony as her eyes couldn't focus on who had cut the naoe of her titan open.

She felt herself getting cut off from the titan and finally stopped screaming as she wasn't connected to her titan body anymore. She blinked blurrily as she felt herself being on someone's back and being swinged around. She could faguely see Armin's golden blond hair. "Armin.." mumbled Mikasa.

"Mikasa!" Are you okay??" Armin asked worriedly. Mikasa was on the point of passing out as they swung back to the horses.

All the scouts had already gathered on the horses and waited for them. Connie and Sasha had retreated Eren but on their way Eren had passed out from his injuries and was now laying in a car. "Put her here!" said Connie motioning to the car where Eren was laying. Everyone was waiting for Armin's orders as it looked like he had taken control as Erwin was out due to the bloodloss of his lost arm.

Things looked bad for them. Armin laid Mikasa down next to Eren and walked up to the scouts. He shot a black smoke flair in the air which meant they would do a full retreat. "Everyone retreat!" Armin shouted as everyone went on their horses or on the cars and began running back to the walls.

This mission was successful but at what cost… thought Armin as he looked at all the wounded and at Eren and Mikasa. They would have a longggg talk with the government when they're back. And not to mention the family of the fallen ones… Armin was already getting a migraine thinking about it.

This is my first ever written story that is not for an essay. I really hope you guys like it and please be brutallt honest on what i should improve. And if you have any plans for this story let me know im open for new ideas!

I will not spoil much of the story but i will wanr you that you have to throw out any knowledge you have about the attack on titan universe. I made this story for people who wanna rewatch attack on titan like it was the first time. This is like a human with the same skeleton but a different appearance.

So i repeat. If you dont like the changes just dont read. I hope ill see you next time!
