Chapter 23

Naruto yawn as he still felt the effects of the poison even though he had a full night of sleep.

"Naruto I think you came back too soon." Ino told him watching him as his color still hadn't really returned fully to his sun kissed tan.

Naruto looks over at Ino as Neko looks over at the two kids as they talk. "I know I'm not at a 100%. I want to be here." He tells Ino with his goofy smile.

"Just don't over do it Naruto. We don't want you getting sick again." Ino told him with worry in her voice. As she just smiled at him.

Neko walks over to the boy and places her hand on right hand on his left shoulder. "She is right Naruto-kun. Please take it easy and if you don't feel well. Please let me know and we will take you back to your room for you to rest." She tells him with a soft smile under her mask.

"Thanks Neko. I'm fine for now. I am a little hungry. But I'm not sure what I can hold down though." He the Neko with a frown on his face.

She frowns from under her mask. "I'll go down to the kitchen and see what we can get you. I'll be right back." She told him as she walks away, leaving him to his work on seals and to Flamingo as he watches the boy with worry in his eyes.

After a while Naruto began to yawn and Flamingo chuckled. "Come on kid. Let's take you to your room. Maybe a nap will do you well." He told the boy with a smile from under his mask.

Naruto just nodded his head as he stands up with the help Flamingo and they vanish in a swirl of leaves as Neko returns with oatmeal and crackers for the boy's stomach.

"We went to take a nap." Choji shyly told her from his corner of the room.

Three days later

It took three days for Naruto to finally feel better. Three day of sleep, and just eating light meals and more sleep for the boy and never-ending babysitters as each of the six rookie ANBU he had befriended watched over him day and night. Making sure nothing happened to him while he slept.

The fourth morning Naruto woke up. He had his healthy skin color returned and his feet met the cool tile of his room floor as a slight shiver ran up his body. "I need to get some rugs for my room." He tells himself as he gets up to get ready for his day. As he is hungry and wanted to get back to his studies. Something he wanted to do for the first time in his life.

Classroom

Naruto comes bouncing into the room with a sweet bun in his mouth with Neko hot on his heels. "Naruto get back here. You need to eat more that just sweet buns." She growls out at him.

"Nope. I just want these." Naruto said with a giggle as he eats another one with milk.

"Naruto." Called Ibiki. Coming to Neko's aid as this is where he knew at times he had to come in to stop Naruto from acting up.

"Yeah, Ibiki?" He questions as he stops bouncing around and looks up at him as he takes the sweet bun out of his mouth and smiles up at the man.

"You need to eat a health breakfast. So, sit down and eat what Neko has fixed for you." Ibiki slightly growls out as he stares down Naruto who nods his head and sits down in his chair and Neko places his plate down before him. He eats his meal and hides his sweet buns for a snack later.

Short times later the others come trickling into the classroom. "Morning." Naruto chirped out as he saw his friends come into to their makeshift classroom.

"Morning" Shikamaru said between a yawn as he took his seat as he is ready to being working on the level four sealing book. So he can work on the seals that Naruto has around their playground.

"It's good to see that your back." Ino told him as the others agreed as she took her seat next to him.

"I'm glad to be back too." Naruto told them all with a grin.
