Chapter 4

After finishing their training, Ash and Alice make their way toward the ruins they had planned to explore. However, as they approach, an unsettling sight stops them in their tracks. The waters surrounding the area are murky and polluted, with an unnatural stench hanging in the air. Ash clenches his fists, anger flashing in his eyes.

"This is horrible," Alice says, her voice trembling with fury. "Who could do something like this?"

Their question is soon answered as figures in rainbow-colored uniforms emerge from the shadows, their presence adding tension to the already grim atmosphere. Ash steps forward, his voice firm and commanding. "Who are you, and what are you doing here?"

The grunts freeze momentarily, their alarm evident as they hurriedly communicate through their devices. "Admin Ruby, we've been discovered!" one of them mutters nervously.

Moments later, a confident woman strides into view, her crimson uniform gleaming in the fading light. "So what if we're contaminating the water?" she says nonchalantly, her smirk widening. "I'm Ruby, an admin of Team Rainbow, and you have no business interfering."

Before Ash or Alice can respond, two more individuals join her—a man clad in orange and a woman in purple. Their presence exudes authority and danger. Ruby nods at them. "Amethyst, Ambrose, prepare yourselves. We have unwelcome guests."

The two nod silently, releasing their Pokémon. Clefable steps forward beside Ruby, while Ambrose commands an Alolan Raichu, and Amethyst sends out a Nidoking, each exuding power and confidence.

Ambrose speaks, his tone dripping with disdain. "Our leader is occupied in the temple, and you won't be allowed to interfere."

Ash narrows his eyes, his determination unwavering. "You can try to stop us," he says, his voice steady, "but you'll find it won't be so easy."

Ash and Alice release their Pokémon—Smeargle, Miltank, and Exploud—ready to face the three Team Rainbow admins. The battlefield comes alive as Ruby's Clefable, Ambrose's Alolan Raichu, and Amethyst's Nidoking move into position.

As the battle begins, Ruby's smirk grows wider. "Luck has nothing to do with it. I am a master of Metronome, able to dictate the outcome of its attacks," she declares confidently.

Her Clefable uses Metronome, summoning a powerful Flamethrower that strikes Smeargle, dealing significant damage. Ash, however, merely smirks in return.

"You know," Ash says, "Smeargle has a little trick of its own. Sketch." As Clefable's Metronome lands another blow, Smeargle uses Sketch to copy Metronome, leveling the playing field.

Namie, observing the battle, explains to the others, "Ash's Smeargle is amazing. He found it in the Ruins of Alph. Ash was captivated by the way it painted and impressed by how powerful its Sketch could be in battle."

While the battle rages on, the rest of the group watches in shock. May, wide-eyed, asks, "What's going on? Where did this organization come from?"

Namie shakes her head, her confusion evident. "I don't know. This region was created by Ash and Alice. There shouldn't have been an evil organization here."

The tension builds as the two sides clash, with Ruby's taunts and Ash's strategic counters keeping everyone on edge. Smeargle's Sketch and its newfound Metronome prove invaluable as the battle continues.

The battle intensifies as Alice commands her Miltank to focus on Ambrose's Alolan Raichu. "Miltank, use Attract!" she calls. Miltank winks charmingly at Raichu, causing it to hesitate and struggle against the infatuation.

Alice smirks, capitalizing on the opportunity. "Now, Milk Drink to recover!" Miltank replenishes its energy before following up with a devastating combo of Stomp and Rollout, battering the struggling Raichu.

Lillie, observing the battle, explains, "That Miltank was a gift from Whitney, the Goldenrod City Gym Leader."

Brock nods, memories flooding back. "Whitney has a whole Miltank farm. I remember how powerful her Miltank was back in the day—nearly unstoppable with its Rollout strategy. Looks like Alice's Miltank learned from the best."

Meanwhile, Ash's Exploud takes on Amethyst's Nidoking. "Exploud, use Hyper Voice!" Ash commands, and the sound reverberates across the battlefield, forcing Nidoking to brace itself against the powerful sonic attack.

Namie chimes in, watching Exploud dominate. "Exploud was originally a Whismur Ash found in the Rusturf Tunnel back in Hoenn. Even then, it had a knack for sound-based moves. It's no surprise it's so masterful now."

The battle rages on until Ash and Alice's coordinated efforts bring all three admins to their knees. Ruby, Ambrose, and Amethyst exchange frustrated glances before retreating toward the temple.

"Cowards," Ash mutters, giving chase. "We can't let them get away!"

Alice is right behind him. "Let's finish this!"

Without hesitation, Misty and the others follow, determined to back up their friends. The polluted waters and shadowy ruins loom ominously as the group rushes toward what lies ahead, ready for whatever challenges the temple may hold.

Inside the temple, Ash and Alice confront the figure waiting for them—a man dressed in sleek black attire, his presence exuding a commanding air. His lips curl into a smug smile as he addresses them. "We've been expecting visitors. It appears the young Champion and his Elite Four have arrived to defend their fledgling region," he remarks, his tone dripping with arrogance.

Ash stands firm, his gaze unwavering. "What's your purpose in intruding upon our territory and polluting the water? And what brings you inside the temple?" he demands, his voice resolute.

The man doesn't flinch, answering with an almost dismissive tone. "Our objective is to acquire the Legend Plate. Although we've found a plate here, it's not the one we seek." Without hesitation, he tosses the plate toward Ash, who catches it instinctively.

Alice's eyes narrow as she examines the plate. Her expression sharpens in realization. "That's the Blank Plate—the Normal-Type Plate of Arceus, hidden in Regigigas' Temple. You polluted the water to drive away Pokémon while you searched for it, didn't you?" she accuses, her voice cutting through the tension.

The man's smug demeanor remains intact. "What if we did? Our business here is finished," he retorts. Reaching for a Poké Ball, he releases a Seviper. "Seviper, Smokescreen!"

Thick black smoke engulfs the area, obscuring their vision. Ash and Alice brace themselves, but by the time the smoke dissipates, the man has vanished, leaving only an eerie silence in his wake.

Seeing the helicopter escaping into the distance, Ash and Lillie rush out of the temple, determination etched on their faces. "We can't let them get away!" Ash shouts, grabbing a Poké Ball. "Lickilicky, I choose you! Use Hyper Beam to bring them down!"

Lickilicky appears in a flash of light, charging up a powerful Hyper Beam. It fires, but the helicopter is already out of range, leaving Ash visibly frustrated. "No… they're getting away."

Alice places a calming hand on Ash's shoulder. "We'll get another chance. Don't lose focus now."

As Ash sighs, trying to regain composure, Lillie turns to the others. "Lickilicky wasn't always part of Ash's team. He traded a Slowbro for it, and it evolved while they were traveling in the Sinnoh Region."

Suddenly, the ground beneath them begins to tremble violently. From the temple's depths, a colossal figure emerges. "Regigigas…" Ash murmurs in disbelief as the Legendary Pokémon roars, shaking the ruins with its awakening.

"You've got to be kidding me…" Ash says under his breath, steeling himself as Regigigas unleashes a devastating Hyper Beam. Acting swiftly, Ash calls out, "Regigigas, I choose you!" In a flash, his own Regigigas appears, towering in front of its rampaging counterpart.

With quick thinking, Ash takes the Blank Plate and carefully places it back on the altar. The raging Regigigas gradually calms, its roar fading as it retreats to slumber once more.

Everyone stares, stunned. Goh finally breaks the silence. "Ash… You have a Regigigas?"

Namie steps in, her tone a mix of awe and excitement. "It's true. Ash and Alice found it in the Hoenn Region. There's an island with a hidden cave, and inside, they found Regigigas. It was an incredible discovery."

As the tension eases, Ash looks at his friends. "They got away this time. But next time, we'll stop them for good."

With the danger passed and the temple quiet once more, Ash turns to the polluted water. "We need to clean this up before it causes more harm."

He retrieves a machine from his bag, a device designed to purify water. Before setting it up, Alice steps forward. "We'll need to make sure it's clean first. Cinccino, I choose you!" she calls, releasing the sleek and tidy Pokémon.

Cinccino immediately gets to work, using its tail to dust off and polish the machine, ensuring it's spotless. Its meticulous nature brings a small smile to everyone's faces.

Lillie watches with admiration. "That Cinccino used to be a Minccino Ash found in the Unova Region. It loves cleaning, so this is perfect for it."

Once the machine is ready, Ash calls out another Pokémon. "Bouffalant, let's go!" The large, powerful Pokémon emerges with a proud snort.

Ash climbs onto Bouffalant's back, steadying himself as it prepares to move. "We'll need to take this machine upstream to the head of the river," Ash says, gesturing to the direction of the polluted source.

Namie chimes in as they watch Ash ride off. "Bouffalant is another Pokémon Ash found in the Unova Region, on Route 23. It wasn't easy to tame, but Ash managed to win its trust. It's been a reliable partner ever since."

With Cinccino's help cleaning the machine and Bouffalant carrying Ash to the riverhead, the group feels a sense of determination. The work is hard, but they know restoring the river will help heal the ecosystem Team Rainbow disturbed.

With the polluted water finally cleaned and the machine running smoothly, Ash stretches his arms, letting out a deep breath. "We've done a lot today. Let's take a break and have some lunch."

Alice nods, smiling. "Good idea. We deserve it after all that hard work."

The group gathers in a shaded area by the river, and Ash releases Greedent from its Poké Ball. "Greedent, we need some berries for lunch. Can you help us out?"

Greedent gives an enthusiastic nod, its cheeks puffing up as it uses Stuff Cheeks to quickly gather a large assortment of berries from the nearby bushes and trees. The Pokémon's appetite is evident as it munches on a few berries while bringing back a pile for everyone.

Lillie laughs as she watches. "Greedent is such a heavy eater! I've never seen it pass up the chance for a snack."

Ash and Alice set up a small cooking station, helping to prepare the gathered berries into a quick but satisfying meal for everyone. As they enjoy their lunch, the group reflects on the morning's events, the tension easing as they recharge.

After lunch, Ash and Alice stand, ready to continue their journey. "We're heading toward Silkan City next," Ash announces, adjusting his backpack.

Lillie and Namie exchange a glance before stepping forward. "That's perfect," Lillie says. "Silkan City is where Ash's company is located. We'll guide the group there."

Namie adds, "There's a lot to see in Silkan City. Plus, Ash's company is really impressive."

The group sets off together, the path ahead filled with promise. Ash and Alice lead the way, while Lillie and Namie provide details about the city and its significance. With their spirits high and a sense of camaraderie among them, they look forward to what awaits in Silkan City.
