I only own my OCs
On his way to the Pokecenter to heal Mankey up, Kadabra came out of its pokeball and said something unfortunately Korogra couldn't make out what. Turning to Totodile, he asked, "Totodile, could you figure out what Kadabra is saying?" Hopping down they began talking and after a little back and forth Totodile dug through Korogra's bag and pulled out two spoons and went through some motions Korogra then said, "I think I get it now." Turning to Kadabra he continued, "If I'm understanding right you want to evolve into Alakazam soon." Kadabra nodded before putting the spoons back in the bag and returning herself, once Totodile was back on his shoulder they got back to the center and Korogra said, "I'm gonna give Prof. Elm a call." After the video phone rang for a bit Elm picked up saying, "Oh hello Korogra, I've misplaced some documents that I was working on. What can I do for you?" He responded, "Thanks to Totodile translating, Kadabra said she wants to evolve to Alakazam soon. Only problem is I'm not exactly sure how to do that." Elm thought for a moment before saying, "I can arrange things with Professor Oak and have Kadabra evolve for you but it'll take a while to set up." Korogra nodded, "Thanks Professor, for now I'm gonna relax until my next match."
Hanging up he heard the call to pick up his Mankey, before he went to pick it up he reached into his bag and pulled out a small case. Glancing around to make sure no one will try to steal it he undid the clasp holding it closed to reveal a multi-colored feather and muttered, "One day I'll challenge you Ho-Oh, but I know I'm not skilled enough to come anywhere close yet." Shutting the case with a click he put it back in his bag and went to the counter where Nurse Joy explained, "Your Mankey is all healed up but it's still exhausted, so you should hold off on battling with it for a while." Nodding he said, "Fair enough, I don't plan on using him for my next battle." Glancing up at the screen, he noticed his battle was coming up so he made his way to the waiting rooms. Sitting on one of the benches he watched the screen and saw as Ash won his battle while Gary was taken out of the conference early. Shaking his head, "Really Gary? All that bragging about how you're better than everyone because you're related to the regional professor only to lose early on." He then heard the buzzer and made his way to the field, seeing his opponent Korogra raised an eyebrow because Giselle doesn't look like she bothered to train her Pokemon. The referee then calls out, "This is a two-on-two battle between Korogra Kanbara of New Bark Town and Giselle from Pokemon Tech. The battle ends when both trainers' Pokemon are unable to battle. Begin!" Korogra sends out Flareon while Giselle sends out Cubone before loudly stating, "Cubone it's time to show them that Pokemon Tech is the key to winning the league."
Up in the crowd, Brock and Misty recognize Giselle from when they stumbled onto Pokemon Tech with Ash and wonder if Giselle can actually do well in an official battle. Meanwhile Leaf, Kris, and Janine roll their eyes because they encountered Pokemon Tech awhile ago and were less than impressed, Janine tells Leaf and Kris, "This Giselle girl shouldn't really be bragging about Pokemon Tech, I have to agree with dad and Aunt Aya. The Pokemon Tech students probably shouldn't be trainers since they tend to think type advantage without training guarantees victory and yet every time one of them challenges dad or Aya they lose spectacularly." Leaf nods, "Yeah, I considered going to Pokemon Tech but the idea of traveling was too good to pass up." Kris adds, "I hadn't heard of Pokemon Tech before coming to Kanto and was extremely disappointed when I looked into it."
The battle between Korogra and Giselle continued with no heed to the conversations in the crowd when Giselle called her Cubone to use Bone Club Korogra's Flareon took a considerable hit from the surprisingly quick strike and stumbled, undeterred Korogra told Flareon, "Use Shadow Ball to distract Cubone then get in close with Quick Attack." Cubone, on Giselle's orders, used Bone Club to deflect the Shadow Ball but was unprepared for the Quick Attack and stumbled from the hit. Starting to panic, Giselle had Cubone use Headbutt, only to miss when Korogra had Flareon dodge and counter with Fire Spin. Giselle's Cubone then stumbled out of the fire column and collapsed, unable to battle. Returning it, Giselle shakily sent out her Nidorina and told it to use Poison Sting which actually managed to poison Flareon. Knowing Korogra is now against the clock he had Flareon use Swift to hit Nidorina from all sides and use Flamethrower to try and end the battle quickly, unfortunately the combination of Double Kick and Bite in addition to being poisoned proved too much for Flareon and it fainted. Korogra sighed before saying, "Return Flareon, you've done great. Thanks." Grabbing another pokeball he throws it saying, "Hitmonchan, you're up. And start off with Feint." Emerging from the ball, Hitmonchan vanished before appearing right next to Nidorina, surprising it, and landed a hard hit. Seeing Nidorina's strength fading fast, Korogra glanced at Giselle wondering what she'll do. Seeing her panic stopping her from coming up with anything to counter he sighs, "Hitmonchan, finish it with Mach Punch." Seeing the same thing as its trainer, Hitmonchan also sighed and punched Nidorina before it could blink and walked back as the ref said that the match goes to Korogra.
Returning his Pokemon, Korogra calls over to Giselle, "If that's the best Pokemon Tech can do, then I'm sorry but you have a long way to go before you can challenge the league. Other trainers might not be as nice as me if you start panicking during a battle. Learn from this and become a better trainer, after all if you lose composure how will your Pokemon know they can rely on you?" Seeing the screen show his next battle will take place the next day, Korogra joins the crowd to watch the rest of the day's battles. Janine calls him over and introduces her friends and Kris says, "I see you got Totodile from Professor Elm, I got my Bayleaf from him when she was a Chikorita. Why didn't you have Totodile battle?" Korogra explains, "Hitmonchan was getting restless for a battle and Flareon has been needing to test out Flamethrower, Shadow Ball, and Swift."
A/N: That's it for now, took a while but I've been remotivated to write again. I hope what I wrote explained why I replaced the 'Aura User' with 'Rainbow Hero'
