It was raining. Pearl had always quite liked the rain. It was one of her favorite things about Earth. But she wasn't ON Earth, was she? For all she tried to keep it together for Steven's sake (Do it for her him), but internally, she was in a constant state of panic. What if… What if the diamonds showed up? There was no way Peridot could beat them on her own, Bismuth was still bubbled, Lapis was stars know where, and their only other allies had never even been to Earth for the most part! She took a deep breath. No use in fretting. The kids were playing outside. She looked at Sprig and Polly. The strange frog children. How something like this, where and earth creature had a society ever so reminiscent of that of humans, could exist, honestly scared her. If they were so close to human… Did that mean they had an equivalent? Maybe even a… less benevolent one? She shook her head. She was working herself up again. She took another deep breath. Suddenly, she heard a yell from outside. She looked to see one of those horrid beasts attacking the children. She kept out the window, spear drawn. "Pearl!" Connie called. "I'm here, don't worry. Get inside, all of you!" "We won't leave you Pearl!" Steven cried. "Yes you will, because if you die here, earth will be doomed. The same is not true for me." No, no no no, she was spiraling. Snap out of it! Not in front of Steven! (Do it for her him) "Pearl, please!" Steven begged. "You're too important!" Pearl shrieked. Suddenly, Steven was hugging her. "So are you." he said, tears in his eyes, as he looked up to her and smiled. The rain began to clear, leaving a ray of light on the two of them. And then, they began to glow.

He was here. "Well look at that!" He said cheerfully. "Steven and Pearl fused! Well, that's just splendid!" The monster, recovering from Pearls earlier attack, lunged at him. "Ah, ah, naughty naughty!" He said, pulling out Steven's shield and blocking. He pulled out Pearls spear and twirled it, hitting the bug on the head. He then brought the two weapons together, creating an umbrella. "Well, this has been a lovely time, but I think that Rainbow Quartz 2.0 has had quite enough time in the limelight!" Rainbow tapped the bug with the tip of their umbrella, causing it to glow. It then went flying over the trees. Rainbow began to glow.

She fused with Steven. She fused with Steven! "Oh Steven, we fused!" she squealed. "And we were so much fun! We went 'Splendid!' And 'lovely' and then sent that bug flying!" Steven said, matching her enthusiasm. As the two gushed about Rainbow Quartz, Pearl realized she had been being ridiculous. (Do it with him) And that was how it should be.
