"Let's see. Pranks pulled on everyone and I mean everyone. Our human partners included."

"So not cool. I thought Sideswipe's pranks were bad. Jazz has sent him to the brig for some of his pranks. We almost lost some vital info due to his prank."

"I thought Jazz and the twins were good friends?"

"They are, but sometimes there is so much he can handle. I like a good prank as much as the next person, but only when it doesn't involve using the computer. That's why Sides was sent to the brig."

"Guessing it didn't break him."

"Actually, after coming to Earth, his pranks subsided quite a bit. Its been nice to see him being more civilized after a fight with Steeljaw's pack."

"I heard that he got a sword through the spark."

"You could say that." Then I smirked.

"Does Bee know what you did?"

"Yep. He wasn't happy, but he understood. He's also not happy that I'm friends with Starscream."

"Why are you friends with him? Can you imagine what our creators would say if they knew?"

"Guess it's a good thing they're not here, isn't it?"

"Do you not care what they would think?"

"Nope. I wanted a seeker jet mode, but I was told that if I do that, our creators would cast me out and I wouldn't be your twin. How that last part would be hard to do, is beyond me. We are spark split, so how would I not be your twin?"

"I don't know either. I didn't know you've always wanted to fly. I would have been fine with that."

"I know you would have, but our creators wouldn't have. Why do you think I chose a ground-based vehicle mode? It was to please them. I did it under duress."

"So, you would rather have a jet mode instead?"

"Yeah, but I also like my Lambo vehicle mode."

"I know you do. I am glad that you scanned my vehicle mode while here."

"Do you think Charlie will allow me to take Cody on the next rescue?"

"Probably not. Someone has to be up in the command tower."

"What if I can get everything transferred to me?"

"Meaning what, exactly?"

"All calls sent to my comms. Navigation to my GPS transponder."

"We'll ask the chief tomorrow morning before the calls start coming in. Right now, I just wanna spend some time with my twin."

"Just you and I?"

"Of course. There's a place that we take good care of that's nice and quiet. Its called Blossom Vale. I'm hoping there's no one there. I don't admit this to anyone but I find it very beautiful."

"I think I heard Boulder talking to Sunny about that place."

"He's done a few paintings of it. Let's go down to the Rec. Room and have some energon and catch up."

"Sounds good to me, bro." We took the lift down to the bunker for a few drinks and catch up. There's so much we need to talk about since the war.

While we were having a few drinks, the alarms were going off. I sighed, as did my brother.

"There goes the rest of our talk. Guess I'll see ya when you get back, bro."

"Unless you wanna go with."

"Up to Charlie."

"Let's go find out. Then when we get back, we'll finish our talk and our drinks."

"Sounds like a plan" We walked over to the platform and took it up to the top of the firehouse. Everyone was ready to go.

After the platform came to a stop, we noticed that everyone was ready to go. I looked at my brother, who looked at me and nodded.

~I'm gonna be honest, bro. I'm worried the chief will say no.~

~Would you rather I ask him?~

I nodded and stayed silent while my brother asked the chief.

"Is everything ok, Heatwave?"

"My sister was wondering if she could go on the call and if Cody could go with?"

"I have no problem with her going on the call, but I need Cody up in the tower to monitor everything."

I put my hand on my brother's shoulder. "Can I make a suggestion, Charlie?"

"Can it wait 'til we get back from the call?"

"Yeah, I guess it can."

~Just hold on to that thought, sis. I think he'll like the idea.~

~I hope so, bro. I thought it was a good idea when I brought it up to you.~

~It is a good idea.~

"Heatwave? You ready?"

"Of course. Rescue Bots, roll to the rescue."

We all transformed and headed for whatever call we got.

Several hours later, we got back from the call. I was glad I had scanned my brothers' fire truck vehicle mode. The extra help was definitely needed for the fire. It was bad. Heatwave went through his main water reservoir and his backup. It was up to me to finish putting the fire out.

"What a mess that was. I'm glad you came with us, sis. Between my backup water supply and my main supply, I wouldn't have been able to put it out."

"Glad I could help, bro. For as bad as that fire was, I'm glad Cody wasn't with us. I mean, I would have kept him safe, but I'm glad he wasn't with us."

"Me too. Why don't we talk to the chief about your idea. I hope he likes the idea. I know I do."

"I'm glad you do, but its all up to Charlie."

"Why do you get to call him by his name?"

"He's never told me otherwise. He doesn't seem to have a problem with me calling him by his name. I'm surprised Chase isn't calling him by his name."

Cody had just come down from the tower and walked into the middle of our conversation.

"Am I interrupting?"

"No, Cody. Could you get your father for us, please? We wanna run something by him."

"Sure thing, Blue. If the next call isn't real bad, I'd like to go with you."

"You'll have to talk to your dad about that. I wanted to take you with me, but now I'm glad I didn't."

"I'm glad you didn't, too. I'll go get my dad."

"Thanks Cody." He nodded and left to get his dad. Kade came down the elevator after Cody went up in it.

"Hey buddy."

"What do you need, Kade?"

"We need to refill your water reservoirs. Main and backup."

"Can it wait 'til we're done talking with your dad, Kade?"

"Are you looking to join the team permanently, Blue?"

"Believe me, I'd love to, but my team needs me back in Crown City. I'm just here for a vacay."

"Then what do you need to talk to my dad for?"

"I have an idea that will hopefully make things easier for everyone and where Cody can come on some of the calls."

"My dad isn't going to allow Cody to go on the calls, Blue. Most of our calls are too dangerous."

"Let me be the judge of that, son." Then the chief looked at me. "Cody said you wanted to talk to me, Blue. Is this about the idea you wanted to bring up to me before we left for that emergency?"

"Yeah, it is. I know you want Cody up in the tower to keep an eye on everything when the team is out on calls, but what if I said I could reroute everything to my comms. and then Cody can join us on the calls? Would you allow him to go if they're not real dangerous? I'll keep him safe."

"Explain how you would reroute all calls to your comms. How are we to know when a call comes in if they're rerouted to you?"

"What I'm meaning is, when all of us are down here and no one can get to the phone in time, I can take it and let everyone know. You'll still be able to answer calls on the firehouse phone when close by or if I'm unavailable."

"I have to think about it, Blue. It sounds good but, like I said. I have to think about it."

"No problem. Let me know either way. Cody was also wondering if he could go on the next call if it isn't real bad. I told him he should talk to you first. I won't overstep your parenting, Charlie. It's not my place."

"I appreciate that, Blue. If the call isn't real bad, he can go. Promise me you will keep him safe?"

"Of course. We Autobots have been protecting Humans with our lives since the Decepticons and the war has been over and done."

Heatwave put his hand on my shoulder. I looked at him and nodded. He nodded back.

~I know that look, sis. Why don't we go for a drive. We'll go up to Mt. Griffin and talk. No one will bother us there.~

I smiled. ~Sounds good, bro. Thanks.~

~That's what family is for, Blue.~

"Is everything alright, Blue?"

"Yeah, everything is just fine. Gonna spend some quality time with my twin up at Mt. Griffin. We'll be back later."

"Be safe. Both of you."

"We will, Chief."

About an hour and a half later, we made it to the top of Mt. Griffin. I couldn't believe the view of the whole island.

I whistled. "What a view. Its beautiful up here."

"Glad you like it up here. Boulder does too. He's currently working on a painting of the whole island."

"I can't wait to see it. I should get Sunny up here and paint. He would love it."

"So, tell me what's on your mind. You have been distracted since you got here. Does this have to do with your undercover mission?"

"Yeah, it does. Bee wouldn't stop pestering me about it. What I did before I met him, is none of his business. I did miss you while I was undercover. I was hoping that you were ok, but you had blocked me in the bond."

"I was told to. I didn't want to, but you didn't need to get distracted. I had left with the other Rescue Bots before you came back from your mission. Didn't anyone ever tell you that I left?"

"No. When I came back from my undercover mission, I tried to reach out to you, only to receive nothing. I thought I had lost you. I don't ever wanna feel like that again. There were a few times I thought I was going to die cause I kept trying to reach out to you but got nothing."

Heatwave hugged me. "I'm sorry, sis. I didn't mean to keep you out of the bond for as long as I did. After we landed here on Earth, Optimus told me to keep the bond between us closed off so I wouldn't get distracted."

"Sounds like you still got distracted. You were worried about me, weren't you?"

"Of course I was. You're my twin and my best friend. I would never be the same without you in my life. I mean that, Blue."

"You're the best, Wave."

"I like to think so."

"Don't let it go to your head now, bro. Wouldn't want it to swell up. Heh."

"Funny. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better. Guess this hike up to Mt. Griffin is what you needed to clear your head."

"Guess so. Thanks. I haven't done a good hike since before the war started. It was nothing like this, but I had a good time."

"I hate to change the subject, but I have to ask this."

"Ask what?"

"I heard that you plan to go flying with Starscream. True or false?"

"True. There's a permanent ceasefire between our factions. He was supposed to get me the whereabouts of Steeljaw's remaining pack. I need to call him."

"Can you wait 'til you get back or have Bee do it?"

"Its my job as leader. I haven't picked a 2IC yet. Not sure who I'm going to pick yet."

"Cause you have history with Jazz and Bee, huh?"

I nodded my head. "Which is why I haven't decided who to pick. I may not even choose a 2IC at all. Optimus didn't really have one."

"True, but you could use one to help you out. Somone who already knows the ins and outs of leadership and who was under Opitmus' command."

"I could call Magnus, but I've already scared the holy hell out of him when I went undercover as his ex-mate. He hasn't spoken to me since then."

"He may not have a choice now. Maybe you should have Bee call him instead."

"Maybe I should. That's not a bad idea, bro. Thanks. I don't know why I didn't think of that."

"Too much going on all at once for you."

"True. When we get back to the firehouse, I'll call Bee and have him call Magnus. I'm just worried that when he finds out who the new leader is, he may not come and help."

"Doesn't hurt to ask."

"It may if he shows up."

"Do you want me to call Bee then?"

"You don't mind?"

"It does seem like you're a bit afraid to."

"Honestly, I am afraid. Afraid that if Magnus does show up, he'll take over as leader. He was always telling us that a femme has no business in a command position. If he knew I was in a command position, then…"

"But you have the Matrix of Leadership. He can't take that from you. Like Ratchet said. Its written the history books. You are the next in line after Optimus. Don't be afraid to stand up to Magnus. Don't make him think you're weak cause you're a femme. You're anything BUT weak, sis. I have faith in you."

"Wish I had your confidence right now. Even when I was under his command, he scared the hell out of me. Always in my face. I wanted to hit him, but he was my commanding officer. I wasn't allowed to."

"You're HIS commanding officer now. Show him how strong you really are and show him that a femme CAN have a command position among the Autobots."

"Back me up, bro? If I do have him come to Earth, I'll need someone to back me up and give me all the support I need."

Heatwave put his arm around my shoulders and brought me closer. "You're my twin sister. You know I'll do anything to help you."

I wrapped my arms around him and hugged him. "Thanks Heatwave. I needed this pep talk. I do need to stand up to Magnus. I can't let him bully me around any longer. Let's head back to the firehouse and I'll call Bee. I need to explain everything and see if he'll call Magnus."

"I'm glad I could help, Blue." He had also hugged me back.

"I think I would be lost without you, Wave."

Heatwave stepped back a bit and smiled. "I know you would. Until you follow me to your death."

"I'm not looking to do that anytime soon. I definitely don't wanna hear that you were killed in a simple rescue mission. Hear me?"

"Loud and clear. Let's roll."

"Or is it hike back down?"

"Smartass."

I only smirked at him. "You love me, bro."

"Yeah, I do." Then he turned around and I followed right behind him. We had hiked all the way down then transformed and headed back to the firehouse so I can call Bee.

Griffin Rock Firehouse. We had just arrived when Cody walked up to us.

"What's up, Cody?"

"My dad needs to speak with you about something, Blue."

I looked at my brother, who looked back at me.

~Could it be the idea?~

~Maybe.~

"Did he say what he needs to talk to me about?"

"Something about your idea, I think. He just asked me to come get you when you and Heatwave come back."

"Alright then. Lead the way, Cody."

Rescue Bot Bunker. Both Heatwave and I went down on the lift to see what Cody's dad wanted. I was hoping it was the idea I had proposed to him.

Cody had come down in the elevator to meet up with us. He had walked up to his dad and stood next to him.

"I heard you wanted to speak with me, Charlie. May I ask what its about?"

"I've had time to think about your offer of re-routing all calls to your comm. link."

"And what have you decided?"

"I think it's a great idea. I'll have Graham and Boulder give you a hand with re-routing the firehouse phone line."

"May I ask what your answer is with allowing Cody to ride with me when we go on calls?"

"You will give me your word that you will keep him safe, even on the dangerous calls?"

"I give you my word, Charlie. I've come to think of Cody as a little brother. I'd give my life to protect him, just like I would for my own twin."

"Then he can go with you on our rescues."

Cody was ecstatic to hear the good news that he gets to go on the rescues.

Charlie looked at his youngest child. "I meant what I said, Cody. I want you to be extra careful on the rescue missions. I'm holding Blue to her word that she will protect you."

"I promise dad. I will be extra careful on the rescue missions. Thank you." Then he hugged his dad. Charlie hugged his son back.

"You're welcome, son."

The next few months flew by so fast. I was scheduled to leave at the end of the month. I really didn't want to leave, but knew the others need me at the scrapyard. I am the Autobot Leader, afterall. Not what I wanted, but wasn't my choice.

"I hate to leave, bro, but the others are expecting me back in Crown City."

"You don't have to go if everything is ok, right?"

"Its not a choice, bro. You know that. Leadership isn't something I can walk away from. I would love to, but I can't."

"Take an extended vacay, then. It seems that rescues are your thing, sis. You're pretty good at them. I think Kade appreciates the extra help with the fires."

Right before I responded to him, my comms. buzzed. I looked at Charlie. "Its not a rescue call of any kind, Charlie. Its Bee calling me." Then I answered the call.

"Yes Bee? What do you need?"

"We have the list of the remaining Decepticons from Steeljaw's pack."

"Took Starscream long enough to get that list to you."

"Apparently, it was a huge list. That's why it took so long."

I sighed. Bee didn't like how it sounded. Neither did my brother.

"Everything alright, Blue?"

"Fine. Just tired. Its been practically non-stop rescues."

"That's what I've heard from Blades. Are you ready to come back?"

I sighed again. "Yeah, I am. I'll leave the Decepticon hunting to you and the others. I plan to get some decent recharge there at the scrapyard."

"Sounds good. You definitely need it."

"Don't I know it. Send the groundbridge."

I saw the groundbridge open up. I hugged my brother then walked through and to the scrapyard.

It wasn't long after I came through the groundbridge when Sunny practically jumped me. I side stepped him and he fell flat on his face. I laughed as he got up. Even his brother laughed at him.

"You'll never learn to stop doing that, will you, Sunny? Sides tried that and ended up the same way you just did. Flat on your face."

"And I thought I was the clutz being a Dinobot and all."

I looked at Grimlock. "Naw. You're not a clutz, Grim. You do things differently than everyone else. You're clumsy sometimes, but aren't we all?"

I looked from Grimlock to Bee when I asked the question. "What?"

"We'll talk later. Right now, I need rest. Been a long 3 months for me. Barely got any recharge during that time."

"Then get some well deserved recharge. We'll call if we need you, ok."

"Ok. I also need to find another vehicle to scan later, too."

"Go do that, then get some rest."

"Will do."

"After you're done, come see me, Blue. You need a check up after being at Griffin Rock."

"Can I get it after I get some recharge?"

"I'll put you in shut down mode while I give you a check up, so you can get some recharge. When I'm done, I'll leave you in shut down for about 8hrs. How does that sound?"

"That sounds great, Ratch. I'll scan another vehicle tomorrow."
