Chapter 5: Another Sign From God
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Adrien's POV...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was about to head up the front steps of the school when I saw Marinette drop her bag. Worry rushed through my body, from my head to my toes.
I quickly walked over to her, leaving Nino mid-sentence. Oops. Sorry, Nino. But this is more important than your new D.J. set up.
"Are you okay, Marinette?" I asked as I began to help her pick up her things. "That guy was a jerk."
"I-I'm fine. Th-Thank you-you, Adrien." Marinette spoke. She stuttered. It was adorable. Wait...
I mentally shook my head. I can call my friends adorable. Right?
I smiled. "Good. I wouldn't want you hurt." I handed her books to her and helped her put them in her bag.
"Do you need me to carry your bag or anything?" I asked. It took her a moment before she finally shook her head. I nodded and waved before heading back over to Nino. He was smirking. It looked all to much like Ayla's smirk.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing," He laughed. "You're just way too gullible, dude."
"Huh?"
"Alya gave a dude five bucks to bump into Marinette," Nino spoke. "So you could go and help her."
"What?"
"It's a sign from God, dude," Nino spoke, holding his hands in the air like he was at gunpoint. "Can't deny the sign."
