Chapter 64
Tag Battle! The Final Gym!!
Finally, Ash Ketchum, Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Naru Osaka, Duplica, Erika, Jeanette Fisher, Unazuki, May, Misty, Verity, Setsuna Meiou, Daisy, Lilly, Violet, Mamoru, Sorrel, Haruka Tenoh, Tomoko, Lorlei, Michiru Kaioh and Mahri as well as their Pokémon and the Moon cats are arriving at Liucheng Island (リュウチン島), a well-known luxury resort, that's also the home of the fourth, and final member of the Orange Crew, whom Ash and his comrades must defeat, to the qualify for the Orange League competition.
"Liucheng Island a Resort." Rei said "That holds the final Gym."
"We need one more badge and we can go to the Orange Leauge." Usagi said
"Hold on, you two. We're so close." Ash said "I know we only have one badge to go, but shouldn't we began training for the last gym before we battle?"
"Cha…."
"You're right. This place is supposed to have great hotels, a beautiful beach, and natural hot springs." Ami informed "We should have enough time to relax."
"Come on! How can you and sweetie be so calm?" Rei asked
"Yeah, we're up for any Challange they throw at us." Makoto nodded
"Rai Raichu!"
"I think Mako and Ashy can battle together just in case it's a double battle." Minako said
"Why is that?" Makoto asked as her face turned pink
"Cause you haven't have time to shine lately." Naru answered with a smirk "You got to get out there and see what your really made of. Come on, you know you want to."
"Ok, I'll have time to shine this time." Makoto replied as she embraces Ash with love "Since i havent in a while
Ash saw that Makoto is embracing him, and he decided to hold her hand and within seconds later, our heroes reached land. Ash Ketchum, Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Naru Osaka, Duplica, Erika, Jeanette Fisher, Unazuki, May, Misty, Verity, Setsuna Meiou, Daisy, Lilly, Violet, Mamoru, Sorrel, Haruka Tenoh, Tomoko, Lorlei, Michiru Kaioh and Mahri as well as their Pokémon and the Moon cats got off of their water Pokémon, and Ami, Ash, Michiru, Duplica and Misty recalled their water Pokémon and after stretching, they headed into town.
As our heroes, their Pokémon and Moon Cats disembark, a lot of people and advertisers for the Liucheng Island hotels, Making them fascinated with the scenery of the Hotel itself, it reminded them of the Fushca City Hotel that they went to, They just got into town and they are already greeted by sweet and excited people on the island.
"Skip the rest, try the best, The Kumquat Hotel, for the sweetest deal in town! Come check it out and you'll check right in! Hurry!" Said a person "Come one, Come all!"
"I gotta say, this hotel looks like the one in Fushca City." Minako said "Hmm… I wonder if it has marble flooring. But we got to find the gym!"
"Minako, we should explore first." Ash said "It's like I said before when we set out for their final Indigo League badges and when we set out for Indigo Stadium for the Indigo League, "You can rest when you reach the finish."
"I bet Misty and the other girls can have enough vacation for all of us!" Tracey said
"Tracey." The group sighed
"Bad timing." Tomoko said
"I was only kidding. Come on, guys, let's go down to the beach and get a hot dog and maybe go for a swim." Tracey said
"As they say: love is war, and love is bitten." Minako said
"Yep, nope, no one says that." Artemis sighed
"What is this island like? Honolulu?" Luna asked
"Just think, after our last gym, we should celebrate... with a beach day!!" Makoto said "I'll be making out with Ashy in the sunset!"
"I'll be sunbathing and make sure no men hit on us girls cause we belong to sweetie." Rei said
"I know we are all excited to celebrate and it is our last gym battle on the Orange Islands before the Leauge, but we should look around and see what we can find a Pokémon Center." Ami reminded
Ash and the girls all nod and they went exploring the city of the island together. Ami held Ash's hand since she hasn't done so in a while, however, the person who was calling out to the people, notices the gang approaching, the beach next, once they are on the beach, they feel a rumbling They look back and see the same woman from earlier who has shory red hair, has a blue sundress, a yellow overshirt with it, and necklace, charging towards them.
"Your back! Your back!" She called
Our heroes are in stunned silence when they see the woman rushing for them,The woman embraces Ash, thinking he's her son, he is now muffled by her chest, which made Makoto and Rei a bit jealous. Minako on the other hand, has a teasing and mischievous smirk on her face. Naru on the other hand, has her face pink as she knows who she is.
"My son is back with his mama! My son! My pride, my joy, my heart, my soul, my life, my star, my world, my love! You're home!" She greeted
"I beg your pardon, but who are you, ma'am?" Ash said muffled "I can't breathe…"
"Travis! You don't even remember you're own mommy-wommy? Oh, my widdle pumpkin. Mama's here now." She said
"Excuse me Ma'am, But I think you're mistaking him with your son!" Ami said
"I'm sorry, Ma'am, but my name's Ash! And I already have a mother, okay?" Ash said
Then the woman chuckled in embarrassment and let's go of Ash and Makoto caught him as he breathes in and out. Naru shook her head.
"Girls, this is my Cousin, Ruriko." Naru sighed "She is also a gym leader."
Ruriko notices and recognizes Naru "Naru? that you, dear? My, how you've grown, my little hibiscus!"Ruriko then embraces Naru and picks her up, while her legs are running back and forth, Ash and the gang are very glad to meet some of Naru's family, Ash did say he would meet the Girls' families, someday, and starting with Usagi's and then Naru's.
"It's good to see you again, cousin Ruriko." Naru replied then she then places down Naru and giggles of embarrassment.
"Oh, sorry Cousin Naru, it's a force of habit I'm really affectionate when it comes to family." Ruriko apologized "Well, who are your friends, dear? Would you mind introducing them to your cousin?"
"Well, you already met Ash Ketchum, he's from Pallet Town, this is Makoto, she's also from Pallet." Naru said
"I'm Usagi Tsukino."
"I'm Rei Hino."
"I'm Makoto Kino."
"I'm Minako Aino."
"I'm May."
"I'm Misty."
"I'm Naru Osaka."
"I'm Duplica."
"I'm Jeanette Fisher."
"I'm Erika, the Celadon Gym Leader."
"Haruka Tenoh, at your service."
"I'm Michiru Kaioh"
"I'm Setsuna Meioh."
"I'm Usagi, but everyone calls Me Chibiusa, heres my two friends Togepi and Pichu."
"I'm Hotaru Ketchum."

"It's a pleasure to meet all of you." Ruriko replied "By the way, Naru, your mother told me how much she and your father miss you now that you're away on your Pokémon journey. She also said that she was worried sick when she heard that you were caught in a hurricane out in the middle of the sea and were attacked by the Gyarados. She feared that something terrible must have happened to you."
"Yeah, but survived. You won't believe this, but we saw a really rare Pokémon underwater during the storm." Naru said
"I guess your son must really look, just like Ash." Rei said
"Yes, he does. And he even had his Pikachu with him when he left on his Pokémon journey." Ruriko said as she remembered that her son and his Pokémon left on their journey
"It sounds to me like the reason your son went away was because he wanted to become a Pokémon master." Usagi said remembering her time to leave to become a Pokémon master
"your son must love Pokémon almost as much as I do." Ash replied
But before Ruriko could say anything else, a woman is heard screaming in town which catches the attention of our Ash and his comrades. Could it be Team Rocket? If so, then what type of trouble are they making this time? Just in the wrong time, A gigantic metal Robotic Rhydon rises out of the ocean, with a vacuum on his back.
"A Robotic Rhydon and a Vaccum on his back? Is that the best they can come up with?" Ash asked
Then, a big megaphone came out on top of the Rhydon's head and who spoke out of it, sounds familiar to Ash and his comrades and Pokémon.
"Prepare for trouble!" Jessie said
"Yes, and make it double." James continued
"To protect the world from devastation."
"To unite all peoples within our nation."
"To denounce the evils of truth and love."
"To extend our reach to the stars above."
Before they could finish their motto, Rei and Makoto interrupted them, since she had enough of Team Rocket's stupidity especially at the wrong time.
"Jessie." Rei said imitating Jessie with a bit of a low pitched voice
"James." Makoto said in a deep voice to match James'
"Team Rocket blast off with Stupidity and annoyance!" Rei said imitating Jessie
"Stand back, while we screw people over and their Pokémon!" Makoto replied imitating James
"Meowth!" Chibiusa cired in a scratchy voice matching Meowth
In the other hand, Jessie, James and Meowth are really annoyed and mad that Makoto, Rei and Chibiusa are making fun of them for using the same motto every time they ran into the idiotic trio, Jessie lashed out with fury.
"How dare you mock the Team Rocket Motto!" Jessie shouted "It never gets old and get that through your thick heads!!"
"Yeah right, your motto is getting old every time we decided to make fun of it." Rei Said flipping her hair
"Can you guys piss off?" Makoto asked "Cause we're not in a mood to deal with your BS."
"You know them?" Ruriko asked
"Yeah, those They're nothing but a bunch of no-good, lousy, big, bone-heads who lie, cheat and steal!" Naru said "and criminals — pure and simple!"
"Our Robo-Rhydon is extremely dangerous, but it's environmentally safe." Jessie nodded
"Activate!" Meowth called
Then With the press of a button, the machine starts coming to life, with Arbok and Lickitung providing the power, as the mouth opens to reveal Weezing, and on the top reveals a vacuum.
"And what giant rampaging robot would be complete, without a devastating Hyper Beam?" Jessie demanded
However, when Weezing awakens, instead of a Hyper Beam, a Smog attack is released from the Vacumm tube.
"Look out!" Ash called
"That's Weezing's Smog attack!" Makoto cried
"What the hell happened to the Hyper Beam?" Jessie demanded
"I guess James never got around to teaching it that attack yet."
"Damn! I should've known! We'll just have to make the best of it. Full Smog ahead!" Jessie shouted
The Robo-Rhydon goes on a Smog spreading rampage across the beach with A thick dark green fog pours out of the holes covering Weezing's body, or Weezing opens its mouth on its larger body and releases a stream of thick black smoke from it in the tube of the Vaccum.
"I just love this! The Smog is causing an absolute panic!" Jessie cheered
"There must be a way to defeat that Robot!" Makoto said "Come on, Darling! Let's get rid of it, with PokéPower!"
"Pikachu, Thunder…. Minako?!" Ash gasped
Before Makoto and Ash tell Pikachu and Raichu to use thunder on the giant Robot? Minako was standing right behind the Rhydon robot, and she held a 25 yen coin as she is trying to figure out how to get the robot to stop without any Pokémon. Everyone was dumbfounded at the blonde.
"Hey, I can't find the coin slot!" Minako called then she found one "Here it is!"
Minako inserted the coin to the slot above the robot's tail that said "Self Destruct in 10 seconds, 25 yen coins each" when inserted, the robot stopped the smog from the Vacuum, and inside it flashes Black and White slowly and the alarm sounded, then the countdown for Self Destruct on the robot began, Team Rocket and their Pokémon were left stunned.
"Ten Seconds to self destruct." The computer said and began the countdown
"Why you little!" Jessie growled and grabbed James' neck and starts strangling him "You put a self destruct device on the butt of the robot!?"
"I'm Sorry…!" James said
"Not one of the best ideas." Meowth sighed
"10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.
After the countdown, the Rhydon robot explodes with Team Rocket and their Pokémon inside, and then they are set out blasting off, once more, with Jessie Still strangling James' neck.
"Team Rocket's blasting off again!" The three cried"So long, goodbye and good riddance!" Makoto waved "We did it!"
Makoto picks up Ash, embraces him and they twirled around like a merry go round and he embraces her back, while he lays on her large chest like a pillow. making her happy.
"We sure did!" Ash giggled
"Pi Pikachu!"
"You did an excellent job!" Ruriko said "Especially Minako, how did you figure out its weak spot?"
"I was standing behind the Robot, and i was trying to find its weak point but then I found a slot on its bottom that said 10 seconds to self destruct 25 coin yen." Minako explained
"Thank you, ma'am." Ash replied as he is still being spun around by Makoto "I wonder if I could ask you, or challenge you, to a gym match."
"Same here!" Makoto laughed happily
"Same here, Aunt Ruriko." Naru nodded
"Well, I'd be very pleased to have a match with you three, but, I won't go easy on you — especially you, Naru, just because you're my favorite niece." Ruriko said
"I don't expect you to, Aunt Ruriko." Naru said slyly "I won't go easy on you either just because we're family."
Then after the Team Rocket Fiasco, and Minako defeating Team Rocket effortlessly and in a funny way, the gang all were escorted to the Liucheng Gym, which The Gym on Liucheng Island is the main place of interest, and it is part of the luxurious Liucheng Hotel. The Hotel offers many amenities including a dance studio for Pokémon Trainers to get their Pokémon into shape and relaxing hot springs. The resident Gym Leader and hotelier is Ruriko. Her Gym hosts Double Battles, but the battle ends when the first Pokémon faints, not both. If the challenger should defeat the Gym Leader, they will receive the Jade Star Badge."So, This is where the gym is?" Makoto asked
"By the looks of it, yes." Ash replied "Rest, relaxation, and Pokémon battles are the name of the game here."
"It looks like a hotel to me." Rei replied
"It is a hotel, Rei. And the gym is inside." Ruriko said
"Hey, that sounds like the perfect combination." Mamoru said "Ash and Mako can have their matches first, and we can have a good time, and wait for our turns."
"I still remember my sister Sheila and my brother-in-law Ted "The Tsunami" bringing their three daughters, Trinity, Marina and Miki here almost every summer for a week. Miki was a baby when she first spent her first summer here; building sandcastles with her sisters." Ruriko said
Ash Ketchum, Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Naru Osaka, Duplica, Erika, Jeanette Fisher, Unazuki, May, Misty, Verity, Setsuna Meiou, Daisy, Lilly, Violet, Mamoru, Sorrel, Haruka Tenoh, Tomoko, Lorlei, Michiru Kaioh and Mahri as well as their Pokémon and the Moon cats all head inside, and are greeted by the very kind hotel staff.
"Greetings, our tourists" the staff greeted
"Sheldon, would you kindly prepare a deluxe suite for my guests, please?" Ruriko asked
Right away, ma'am! And we'll see to it that they feel as at home as your niece. He replied
"Our own deluxe suite. Now that's sweet." Misty said
While having the grand tour of the hotel, Ash and his gang, pass by the aerobics class for Pokémon as they lead to their suite. The class consists of Pokémon from the Kanto, Johto and even the Hoenn region.
"The trainers must come here so their Pokémon can get into shape." Tracey said
"Oooh…. A gym at the gym!" Usagi awed
Soon, our heroes reach the Gym battlefield with bleachers, Suddenly Ash recalled is almost identical to the Pewter City gym, when he first Challenged Brock, with rocks surrounding it, along with dirt like from a hill, Makoto was amused by this, the rest of the group sat down on the bleachers to watch the two battle the Gym Leader.
"This is where we'll have our matches." Ruriko said
"Wow. This is the nicest gym I've seen. kinda reminds me of Pewter City Gym." Makoto recalled "Not to mention all the rocks surrounding the gym field."
"Too bad Brock isn't here. He would've lost his mind if he saw this." Ash said
"Pi…."
"By telling by your friends sitting on the bleachers, that tells me that Ash and Makoto are going first?" Ruriko asked
Then Ash and Makoto flinched, then they looked behind them and indeed, Usagi, Ami, Rei, Minako and the girls along with Mamoru, Sorrel, and the Moon Cats all sat on the bleachers, not wanting to get in the way with Makoto and Ash's battle with the Gym leader.
"Don't worry, Ashy and Mako!" Usagi called "We're behind you two, way… WAY… behind you on the bleachers!"
"Besides, I think Mako needs a chance to shine for a double battle first every once in a while!" Naru called
Then Ash suddenly hears a familiar princess like voice in his head. "Sir Ash, Mako really needs your attention and her chance to show you how you and her have one of the most balanced power in battle."
"P… Princess Emeraude?" Ash thought
"So…. The voice was this Princess Emeraude?" Makoto asked
"Yes, Princess Jupiter, you and Prince Satoshi are the most close when it comes to your bond." Emeraude said"Strength, courage, Love and Justice."
Makoto and Ash nodded to one another. Emeraude knew that Ash is the prince of the Golden Sun and Silver Moon, and Sailor Jupiter is the pretty Guardian who fights for love and courage. Together, they are unbeatable! After nodding to one another, Ruriko got Two PokeBalls for it is a double Battle, which Ash and his comrades are used to.
"This Gym battle will be a Double Battle." Ruriko said
"Me and my gang and Mako are used to Double battles, we did a majority of them back on Kanto." Ash said
"How about we let the Gym Leader go first?" Makoto offered
"With Pleasure." Ruriko said and tosses her first two PokeBalls "PokeBalls, Go!"
She tosses two PokeBalls and what materializes first, is Houndoom, a quadrupedal, canine Pokémon with black fur, a long orange snout, and an orange underbelly. It has small red eyes and a black nose. Around its neck is a white band with a small skull-shaped pendant on its throat. There are two white bands on each of its ankles, as well as three rib-like ridges on its back. Houndoom has a long, skinny tail with a triangular tip and three clawed toes on each paw. Atop its head is a pair of long, curved gray horns. These horns are smaller on the female than the male. Unlike its pre-evolution, it does not have discernable ears.
Houndoom live in packs. The one with its horns raked sharply towards the back serves a leadership role. Leadership is determined by fights within the pack. It is believed that Houndoom dreams about this leadership role while it sleeps. Its gut is full of toxins, which are used to create unique fire mixed with poison. This gives Houndoom's fire a foul odor and the burns it inflicts will never heal. After finishing off its prey, Houndoom divides it evenly among its pack. Houndoom appears near rough terrain areas. Its howling induces shivering in other Pokémon, and often sends them scurrying back to their nests. In the past, people thought Houndoom's howl came from the grim reaper. Houndoom usually breathes fire when it is angry. As mentioned in Pokémon Sleep, Houndoom is known to rarely breathe out flames while it sleeps.
What Materializes Next is Alakazam, similar to Rei's, Alakazam is a slightly humanoid Pokémon with a large mustache. A female Alakazam has a significantly shorter mustache than a male. It has a long, thin snout, narrow eyes, ear-like spikes extending from the top of its head, and an additional spike protruding from each cheek. Covering its yellow, skeletal body are brown armor-like sections over its chest, shoulders, forearms, and knees. There are three toes on each foot, each of which has a white claw. Two of the toes face forward, while one faces backwards. It wields a silver spoon in each hand, which act as amplifiers for its psychic abilities. The spoons are created using its psychic powers and it may give one to someone it trusts.
Alakazam is able to use all forms of psychic abilities, including telekinesis and blasts of offensive energy. The overflow of its psychic powers can cause headaches to those nearby. These powers are used to move its body, as opposed to its weak muscles. It also uses its psychic powers to hold up its head, which is too heavy to be supported by its neck. Due to its continually growing brain, its head becomes larger with age. It is said to have an excellent memory and can remember everything that it has experienced since hatching as an Abra, to the time of its death, and has an IQ that exceeds 5,000. It is found in urban areas.
"An Alakazam. Just like Rei's," said Usagi
"Also a Houndoom. They're on Johto but you can also find Houndour in Kanto," said Ami
Ami looked up Houndoom in her Pokémon textbook and began to read "Houndoom is the Dark Pokémon, if you are burned by the flames it shoot from its mouth, the pain will never go away. Upon hearing its eerie howls, other Pokémon get the shivers and head straight back to their nests."
Minako's eyes widen and a bit terrified, "That's one strong and terrifying Pokémon."
"I'll say" said Rei with a nod. "Then again, I never expected to see a Houndoom before."
"Hey, Mako, what Pokémon should we use against Alakazam and Houndoom?" Ash asked
"For Alakazam, we should counter with a Dark-type or a Ghost-type; for Houndoom since it's part fire-type we counter with water also we have a fighting type like Primeape or Lucario," said Makoto to her tag partner and boyfriend
"Yes, that's true although Lucario being part Steel-type would make him weak to Fire-type moves" said Ash, giving Makoto a confident smile. "Then again, we're not ones who tend to always rely on type advantages against our opponents."
Makoto winks and gives him a thumbs up, "You're right, darling. I'm gonna use my Onix!"
"Now, Lucario, I choose You!" Ash called as he tosses the PokeBall
Then Lucario materialized from his PokeBall, Lucario is a bipedal, canine-like Pokémon with predominantly blue and black fur. It possesses a short, round spike on the back of each forepaw, in addition to a third on its chest. It has red eyes, a long snout, and ears. When its mouth is open, two pairs of pointed teeth, one in the upper jaw and one in the lower, can be seen. It possesses cream-colored fur on its torso and blue fur on its thighs that resemble shorts. It has a medium-length tail of the same blue color as well. It stands on its toes rather than on its entire foot. It has developed four black appendages that hang down from its head, which rise when Lucario reads or manipulates aura, a special energy that it senses. Lucario can use its powers to create a staff in form a bone and use it to fight. Lucario can study auras to predict the movements of its opponents and track their quarry. With sufficient training, a Lucario can read auras to understand how living beings are feeling from more than half a mile (1 kilometer) away. However, it sometimes ends up learning information that it would not like to know, causing it to get stressed out easily. It also has the power to manipulate this energy in an offensive manner, in the form of explosive spheres of energy. Lucario can understand human speech and has been reported to communicate with humans through telepathy. Lucario is considered to be prideful and is extremely loyal to its Trainer. It also seems to have a natural sense of justice, as it only trusts Trainers with righteous hearts. It is an exceptionally rare Pokémon that usually lives deep in mountains very far from people to improve their skills. Lucario are primarily carnivores, hunting their prey in packs, though one Lucario was seen eating Berries and plants like roses. It has also been seen eating chocolate, even though chocolate is not part of its natural diet. As mentioned in the Sleep Style Dex, Lucario never lowers its guard, even when sleeping. It is believed Lucario's reading the aura of others similar to when it's awake.
"Ok, Onix, go!" Makoto called and she tosses her Onix's PokeBall.
Then her Onix materialized from her PokeBall, but it's a Shiny Onix, Shiny Onix is a Pokémon composed of a giant chain of brown boulders that become smaller towards the tail. Its length makes it the tallest Rock-type Pokémon. It has black eyes and a rounded snout. On top of its head is a rocky spine. As it grows older, it becomes more rounded and smoother, eventually becoming similar to black diamonds. Inside its brain is a magnet that serves as an internal compass, guiding Onix wherever they need to go and prevents them from getting lost while digging. Onix tunnels under the ground at over 50 miles (80 kilometers) per hour, which causes tremors and a terrifying roar that echoes a long way. Hard objects encountered while tunneling are absorbed into its body, which makes it very sturdy. It also consumes the boulders for food. The massive, winding tunnels it leaves behind are used as homes by Diglett. As seen in the Pokémon Stadium series, Onix is capable of rotating its head, or any part of its body, in a full 360 degrees. It is a very aggressive Pokémon that will constantly attack humans and other Pokémon when in pain, as seen in the Pokémon the Series episode To Master the Onixpected!. As seen in the Pokémon Adventures manga, Onix can be separated from its body segments in battle and be fine later on, either regenerating or reattaching to its body segments. It is said that an Onix that lives for about 100 years will evolve into a Steelix after its composition becomes more diamond-like. It can be found in mountains and caves. As mentioned in Pokémon Sleep, Onix is known on occasion to sleep while in the middle of digging through tunnels. Onix is believed to be a deep sleeper due to the protection offered by its sturdy body. As she does her battle cry, sparkles came out of her.
"You can do it!" said Usagi, cheering for Ash and Makoto.
"Come on Ashy!! Go for it, Fight! Fight! Fight! Mako! Mako! She rocks!" Minako cheered
"Win this battle Mako and Ash!!" Rei cheered
"I'm getting the feeling that Mako haven't used her Shiny Onix in battle yet." Ami said
Setsuna nods, "Indeed. This will be her Onix's debut."
"Hey, I wonder where Daisy, Violet and Lilly went?" Usagi asked and they saw them at the announcer's table
"I wonder that myself" said Chibiusa, becoming worried for Misty's older sisters. "I hope nothing bad has happened to them."
Jeanette pats her head for comfort and says, "I'm sure they're going to be okay."
"We're over here!" Daisy called as she, Lilly and Violet are at the announcer's table
"Daisy, Violet, Lily, what are you doing there?" asked Misty to them
"We wanted to be he announcers for once." Lilly said Honey Bunny and Mako are getting a chance to shine
Violet said, "Ooh totally. Our Prince and his Princess Jupiter are like the Dream Team of Battling."
"Oh you're absolutely right about that" said Daisy with a smile, happy to be able to see Ash and Makoto working together as a team
"So... are you going to be commentators for the battle?" asked Misty
"Oh yes, of course" said Violet with a smile.
"This will be under the format of Double Battle. When both Pokémon on one side are unable to continue, the battle will be over," said Violet continuing for Daisy
"Let's do this together, Mako!" Ash called to his lover/roommate
"You got it, Ashy!" said Makoto with a determined smile on her face, holding Ash's hand.
Makoto smiled back before turning her attention towards the battlefield. "Alright, Onix. Use Rock Slide!" ordered the busty brunette with a confident expression. Then Multiple orange glowing rocks appear around Onix. The rocks then stop glowing and are sent flying towards the opponent.
"My turn. Lucario start this with Flash Cannon on Alakazam!" Ash called Ash's Lucario then fires a silver beam of energy from its fist at the opponent.
"Alakazam, evade with Teleport!" said Ruriko before turning her attention towards Houndoom. "Houndoom, dodge that Rock Slide using Dig!"
The Psi Pokémon teleported merely to evade the oncoming attack. The fully evolved Dark Pokémon digs a hole to dodge the Rock Slide attack as well then after a while, Houndoom popped out of the ground underneath Onix.
"Oh great, this is not good" said Minako with concern on her face.
"Yeah, no kidding," Rei agreed.
"Next thing you know that Mako's Onix will reflect any attack" Usagi said
"Onix can withstand physical attacks so it's possible," Ami said.
"I just hope Ash and Mako will be able to win this match" May spoke with a concerned frown.
"Alakazam, use confusion!" Ruriko called
Ruriko's Alakazam's eyes glow red and shoot black waves of psychic energy toward the opponent only for it to be countered by Lucario's bone, to protect Makoto's Onix
"Lucario, use Bullet Punch!" said Ash, knowing that Alakazam was going to target Makoto's Onix with Confusion. Then Ash's Lucario's fists glow light-blue and it repeatedly punches the opponent with them.
"Use Reflect!" ordered Ruriko, knowing it would help to lessen the physical damage that Alakazam would receive from Lucario's Bullet Punch. The Psi Pokémon sticks its hands and forms a rainbow colored barrier to minimize damage from physical moves
"Great, just what we didn't need" said Ash with a frown on his face, knowing that this was not going to be an easy battle.
"She's not a Gym Leader for nothing. Starting with Reflect is clever to strengthen her team's defense," said Makoto "Let's think outside the box."
"Lucario refuses to give in." May said "Neither will Ash"
"Onix, use Dig!" Makoto called
then Onix dove underground and after a few seconds of digging, she then popped out underneath Houndoom, knocking out the canine Pokemon in the process,
"Nice tactic," Ash says to his tag partner
"Now it's my turn! Lucario, Aura Sphere!" Ash called
Lucario puts its hands together and creates a blue ball of energy in between them. Lucario then fires the ball at the opponent. Lucario can also fire smaller ones from just one hand or make the ball grow to enormous proportions before throwing it at Alakazam, which she tired to use reflect, only for the Aura Sphere to break through Alakazam then took the hit and is knocked out. Ruriko recalled both Pokémon to call out the last two.
"Alright, they did it!" said May.
"Very well done you two. Now here comes my last two." Ruriko said " now, Marowak, Xatu come on out!"
Then She tosses two PokeBalls and what materialized first is Marowak, a bipedal Pokémon with light brown skin and a cream-colored underside. Two small claws, one on each hand, serve as its thumbs, and one large nail on each foot makes up its toes. It has a short tail with a small spike near the tip. Marowak's head is composed of the skull it once wore as a mask. It can no longer remove the skull, which has become part of its body. The skull has two pointed spikes on the back similar to ears and tiny nostrils on the tip of the snout. Marowak's triangular, brown eyes are also located in the skull.
Marowak is well known for its ferocity with its bone club, which it is said to collect from a hidden graveyard. Despite its small size, Marowak's body is as sturdy as armor. Upon evolution, Marowak has overcome the grief of its mother's passing. Now ferocious and violent, Marowak is an adept combatant that uses the bone it carries as a weapon and a boomerang. Having evolved, it seeks vengeance on its natural enemy Mandibuzz, which prey on Cubone because of its naturally weak and timid demeanor. Marowak has also been recorded pounding on boulders with the bone club it carries to tap out messages to others. It lives in mountains to test its skills. As mentioned in Pokémon Sleep, Marowak is known to sleep while using its bone similar to a pillow, possibly being at peace. On occasion, it is seen affectionately holding onto the bone while sleeping.
And what materialized next is Xatu, a green, condor-like Pokémon with long, red-and-black tipped white wings that cover most of its front. Underneath its wings are designs that resemble red eyes. Along with its main green coloration, Xatu's design has accents of black, yellow, and red. There is an extra set of yellow stripes on a male Xatu. It has almond eyes, a long, slightly hooked beak, and two long, red feather crests. Xatu's feet have only two toes, one in front and one in back. Xatu's design is similar to a totem pole or a kachina doll.
"A Marowak, and what is the other Pokémon?" Ash asked curious to the green bird Pokémon
"Ash, that is known as a Xatu. Xatu is a flying/psychic type Pokémon known in the Johto region," said Ami
"Seems like Mako and Ashy should keep their Pokémon by them." Usagi said
"Wait! Is that a Metal coat on Mako's Onix!?" Minako gasped
Ami notices Makoto's Onix and is surprised, "Her Onix was holding a Metal Coat. It's going to evolve."
Rei asks, "What will it evolve into?"
"We'll just have to wait and see" said Misty. "I wonder if Brock's Onix could've evolved like that."
Suddenly, Makoto's Shiny Onix began to Glow catching both Ash, Makoto and Ruriko off guard.
"What the- Onix?!" Makoto gasped
"Your Onix is evolving!" Ash added
After a few seconds, the evolution process finished, and Onix had changed into something new. This was a long, serpentine Pokémon with a silvery-gray body made up of rock like sections, which can possess chips and scrapes from fights and tunneling. That would be with the regularly, but this one was more of a golden-yellow body of rock-like sections.
The blue haired genius gal who had been researching with her PokéDex Textbook found information about the Pokémon in front of them. "Ash, girls, this Pokémon is called Steelix and its Onix's evolved form. Of course it's a shiny colored Steelix," said Ami and looked at Xatu and reads "Xatu is the Mystic Pokémon, This odd Pokémon can see both the past and the future. It eyes the sun's movement all day. They say that it stays still and quiet because it is seeing both the past and future at the same time."
"No way, that's great!" said Makoto with a smile on her face. "Anything else I need to know, Ami?"
"As a matter of fate, I do, Makoto" said Ami. "Steelix is a Steel/Ground-type Pokémon, which means it is no longer double weak to both Grass and Water-type moves. Although its weakness to Ground and Fighting-type moves still remain so be careful."
"Watch out for fire-type attacks as well." Ash added and called back Lucario back to his PokeBall "Go Blastoise!"
Ash tosses his Blastoise's PokeBall and he materlized from it, and Ash's Blastoise puts on his Sunglasses meaning he is the leader of the Squirtle Squad.
"Now that's a good combination, Steel and Water." Erika pointed out."Oh, how sweet" said Makoto with a smile.
"Let the battle begin!" Daisy called
"Ooh right. We still have a Gym Battle to finish," Ash said remembering
"I know, right?" asked Makoto, knowing that Ash was right. "And I can't wait to use my newly evolved Steelix to help us win our match."
"Marowak, Bonerang!" Riuko called "Xatu use Hypnosis On Blastoise!"
Marowak throws the bone that it is holding. The bone the Steelix once, loops around, and then hits Steelix then Xatu eyes glow blue and it releases multiple transparent rings of energy from its face at Blastoise, causing it to fall asleep.
"Blastoise, Sleep Talk!" Ash called
"Steelix, Iron Tail!"
Within no time to waste, While Asleep, Blastoise dashed to Marowak and did an epic uppercut punch on its chin sending his flying a bit and falling backwards. Lucario then woke up, then The end of Steelix's body glows white and it slams it into the opponent; or, the end of Steelix's body glows white and it stabs the opponent with the tip of it.
Ruriko is impressed with her challengers' teamwork and said, "hmm you truly think like one."
"Xatu, Use Areial Ace!" She called
Ruriko's Xatu flies and flips in the air and becomes engulfed in streaks of white light and flies into Ash's Blastoise, disappearing for a moment before hitting the water Pokémon and Makoto's Steelix at the same time, but the tall busty brunette has a good trick up her sleeve.
"Try this one on for size!" Makoto said "Steelix, Stone Edge!"
Steelix slams into the ground, causing pointed light blue rock pillars to appear out of the ground and rush toward the opponent. Upon hitting the opponent, the stone pillars turn gray and explode, and with that, Xatu is out!
"Ouch! Xatu and Marowak are out! Steelix and Blastoise wins which means, the victory goes to Ash Ketchum and Makoto Kino!" Lilly called
"We won!! All right!!" Makoto said happily with the battle's outcome
"We sure did, babe!" Ash replied
Then Makoto then embraces him, pics him up and spun round and round of love, Her Steelix embraces the two and Blastoise.
"Great Job Blastoise." Ash congratulated
"Awesome out there, Steelix, I'm very proud of you." Makoto replied
"They did, Usagi," said Ami happy for their friend Mako and their boyfriend and the girls all join them for the embrace.
Then Ruriko recalled both of her Pokémon and approached the two trainers to congratulate them for their victory.
"You two did great out there. Who knew that you two share an unbreakable bond. That is what I call true love." Ruriko congratulated "And now, as Kumquat Island gym leader, and a member of the Orange Crew, I happily present this token of your victory."
She then handed the two their final Gym Badge of the Orange League. Which is the Jade Star Badge, the two took them and held the two badge up high for victory.
"Alright, we got our final badge!" The two cried
"Pi Pikachu!"
"Rai Raichu!"
"Wow. A badge from all four members of the Orange Crew." Tracy said
"And that means you three can compete with other qualified trainers in the Orange League competition." Ruriko said
"That's to win the Orange League trophy, right?"
"That's right. But to get it, either of them will have to beat the leader of the Orange Crew." Naru said
"As long as we stick together, nothing bad can go wrong." Ash nodded
"This will be a great victory just like the Indigo League huh." Rei said
"And now who's next? Maybe Ami and Usagi?" Ruriko asked
The two nodded, Ash and the girls sat to the bleachers and watched the bluenette and the bunny battle Ruriko to let the other girls have a turn on battling and upon a few battles later, they have all won the Jade Star Badge, and all set to go to the Orange League.
The next day, Ash Ketchum, Usagi Tsukino, Ami Mizuno, Rei Hino, Makoto Kino, Minako Aino, Chibiusa, Hotaru, Naru Osaka, Duplica, Erika, Jeanette Fisher, Unazuki, May, Misty, Verity, Setsuna Meiou, Daisy, Lilly, Violet, Mamoru, Sorrel, Haruka Tenoh, Tomoko, Lorlei, Michiru Kaioh and Mahri as well as their Pokémon and the Moon cats have all aboard a boat on their way to the Orange League, Naru waved goodbye to her cousin.
"Goodbye, cousin Ruriko!" Naru waved "I'll tell my mom you said hi! And come visit us someday!"
"I will! I'll miss you so much!" She Replied "Have a safe trip and battle hard for that Orange League trophy!"
"We'll come back someday!" Ami called "Farewell!"
"Bye Bye!" Usagi and Chibiusa called
All our friends are on their way to their next challenge, the Orange League competition! What other challenge should our heroes face off against along the way? However Who is the man who is the strange man who has green spiky hair on his aircraft that looks like a Palace? What does he seek? Find out as our adventure continues!
