Authors Notes: Hey guys, After posting the first chapter yesterday, I decided to write another chapter and see how it goes... I really enjoyed writing this one so I hope you enjoy it! It's also a bit longer which is great. I recieved a really lovely PM yesterday about my story that was super encouraging so thanks to that person for their kind words.
Positive reviews are welcome - especially constructive criticism and even suggestions for future chapters. Not sure where this story is going but I definitely think I'll be continuing over time... Enjoy!
"So have we got everything?"
"I think so"
The Ninja looked up to their towering pile of duffle bags, suitcases, and non essentials that someone insisted on bringing. It looked like it could fall over any second.
"Do we really need everything here?" Nya wondered aloud as she began to inspect what was claimed to be a 'necessity' by the boys.
"Well I need my soda guzzler" Cole defended.
"And I am bringing my star farer comics in case I get bored!"
"How could I survive with out all my precious, precious hairgel?"
"Jay, what's this?" Nya asked, totally ignoring the other boys and instead inspecting the bulky, giant duffle bag she just tried picking up, only to discover it weighed like 100 kilos.
"All the video game equipment!" Jay exclaimed.
Everyone suddenly erupted into cheers, except for Nya who quietly sighed to herself knowing that there was no way she was getting any of her fellow teammates to leave any of their so-called important belongings behind. Well I guess a video game tournament every now and then would be a little fun she thought to herself as she lugged the heavy bag onto the ship.
Everything was on the bounty, literally everything, and the Ninja were setting off. Zane clutched the letter they received the previous day, inspecting it one last time before they set off on their journey. It was a white envelope in pristine condition, it had been stamped on the back with an unrecognisable insignia. And what was in it was most confusing, troubling, in a way.
"You ok?" Nya confirmed.
"Affirmative" Zane nodded, "I'm just…what if…what if this is a trap? What if there is no meaning to this wild goose chase. Maybe we should be staying at the monastery?"
"Don't second guess yourself"Nya reassured, "We all made the choice to go and find out what this is, yes it most likely is a trap but if it does concern our friends, our family, in any way, we've got to look into"
"You are right about that" Zane half smiled.
Nya took the letter from Zane. Inside was a old worn piece of paper, totally not matching the vibe of the envelope. She pulled it out and glanced at it once more, remembering the events of yesterday evening, all the Ninja becoming more and more concerned as Lloyd read the poem out.
One is made of bolts, their eyes glow in the dark
One is made of wisdom, goodness in their heart
Maybe the man of destruction
Or maybe the lady of rain
Possibly the one from space
Or someone who ended their reign
I could choose a weaponsmith
Or a performer of art
The truth will be revealed
Once they do their part
I will rule with power
So will those I claim
Watch out Ninja
This is the beginning of my reign
A chill went down her spine, just reading those words. Definitely the words of a bad guy, she thought. Nya shook it off, they had to get going. They had to figure this out. Cause one of the only things they knew at the moment is that this bad guy will bring their wrath upon Ninjago and they could be the only ones able to stop him (or her)...
