Nathaniel tapped his pencil against his notebook, trying to think of a theme of Marc and his next comic book. A movement outside the window's of the art room caught his eye.
It was Ladybug and Cat, and Cat looked cold. It was almost winter, and maybe a winter or Christmas could work?
A few minutes later, Marinette walked into the art room, pink cheeks matching her pink scarf and Nathaniel hurried over to her. "Marinette, did you see Ladybug and Cat just now?" Marinette blinked for a second, then recovered. "Yeah, I did." "Cat looked kinda cold."
"Yeah, I saw him outside and he told me he wants a snuggie." "A snuggie? Strong buff Cat Noir wants a snuggie?"
Marinette tried to hold her laughter in. Sure, her partner was both of those things, but it was vacuuming night at the Dupain-Cheng's, and Cat hated vacuum night. He would poise on the back of the sofa, tail lashing, and giving a swipe at the machine now and then. Long story short, he didn't like the vacuum.
"I'd love to make him one…" Marinette's voice trailed off. "I'll help!" Nathaniel blurted. "Maybe Cat can wear a snuggie for a superhero cape!" Again, Marinette held her laughter in, thinking of Edna Mode's famous line, "No capes!"
"Okay, let's go to my place and get designing!" Marinette made hot chocolate and they headed upstairs. "So, what are Cat's favorite colors?" Nathaniel asked, flipping to a fresh page in his notebook as Marinette plopped down in her desk chair. "I would go for a muted color," "and I think he's into tan at the moment."
"Something like…." Nathaniel's pencil scratched across the paper, and held it up for Marinette's inspection. "Yes!"
It was fun working together, and a few hours later, Marinette heard a thump! "Great, Cat's here!" Nathaniel's mouth dropped open. "Cat visits you?" Marinette laughed. "He's not the big bad wolf!"
Cat was pleased and hugged them both.
"Thanks for working with me, Marinette," Nathaniel said a bit later. Then he noticed Cat's hand wrapped around Marinette's. Hm, did Cat have a secret crush? It could all go in the next adventure comic, snuggie and all.
